Hello all, Lunatide here for the first time in years. I'm still at the old gamedev but this time I've got many different projects I am working on at once. I focus my attention on one at a time, but my brain is very active with the subject so I write down every idea I have, and for each project.
Now, I'm not too far into Frog and Rodent right now, but here's what I have so far:
Plot:
Frog and Rodent is a lighthearted adventure puzzle game about getting rid of ghosts that spook the local townsfolk. Your main goal is to travel around the land getting rid of various ghosts inspired by my dreams and hallucinations. There will be many puzzles, riddles and exploring to add to the flesh of the gameplay, and a cute little story full of humorous dialogue to guide it. My main focus here is to recreate the typical children's Halloween style in my own way, incorporating my usual surreal, dreamlike elements with a touch of darkness. I'm hoping for 5-10 hours of gameplay, which seems to me like a decent amount of time for a small game like this.
Characters:
Frog:
Frog is our silent protagonist here, and he's a cute little frog that oddly dislikes moisture, wearing a yellow raincoat to avoid it even when unnecessary. He also wears a trustworthy fanny pack to store clues, keys and other helpful objects he finds along his journey.
Rodent:
The secondary main character, and the coworker of Frog. He's a very smart and knowledgeable old rat and is the talker of the duo. He often guides Frog on his journey.
This is all I have for now, but I will be drawing graphics, writing music and building the game over the next few months. The game will most likely be free to play to help get myself a name for my other projects (depending on how big they are).
Here's a sneak peak of our protagonist, Frog, as he collects his precious raincoat and fanny pack (click to enlarge):

I'll keep updated with my progress.
