      Better Dream Control

So I have been learning to lucid dream over the past few weeks and my dream recall has improved as long as I continue to write them down. And I have had a few lucid dreams which were unclear and felt more like day dreams. Finally, a few nights ago I had a completely clear lucid dream.

I am walking to this store to look for my brother and all of a sudden, for no reason, it occurs to me: I'm dreaming!

It still felt like one of those day dreams though. Then when I got to the store I was talking to this girl I know and it was like I just snapped into the dream and everything felt very real. I've never had a lucid dream that felt so real.

But not long after I got excited and lost control. I looked at my hands which were very blurry. Then I said things like "Stabilize Lucidity" without success. I started to float away and had a few false awakenings and then woke up.

More to the point, I would just like to know how to take control of my dreams and have more clarity like in this past dream. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

To improve clarity and stabilize the dream better, I suggest touching objects and "grounding yourself" in the dream world. You can also rub your hands and look at them (but don't focus on them for too long; you need to be aware of everything around you as well). Look around the area you're in and observe what's going on. If you feel like you're losing control, remember that the more conviction you have in yourself as a master of the dreamworld, the easier it is to control it.

Oh, and welcome to DV! C:

some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Thank you so much. I will definitely keep this in mind and I'll try to touch an object in my next lucid dream.

      No problem, and good luck.
