Recycling lucid dreams to turn one lucid dream into several lucid dreams

As soon as your lucid dream begins to fade visually you need to act very quickly. Just dive downwards as if diving into water. Dont worry about hitting the ground or floor and hurting yourself - just dive. The dream will fade and you won't hit the floor. Instead you will be falling in darkness. Don't worry about where you are falling to, just keep diving. Soon you will hit the ground or maybe a floor or a wall in another dream. When you hit something don't worry about hurting yourself, I have never felt any pain when I have landed even though I fall at high speed with my arms outstretched. When you do hit something the dream may begin to appear around you or you may still be in darkness. If you are in darkness use your hands to feel textures around you. Feel as many things as you can - the ground, your clothing etc. and the dreamscape will begin to form.

I have had normal DILD's that were short lived and when they ended I applied the above to recycle my lucid dreams instead of waking up. Often the subsequent lucid dreams are a lot longer and more stable.

An example of this in action:

I was in a room about to venture into another room by going through a door. The lucid dream began to fade so I immediately dived downwards. The dream completely faded away but instead of hitting the floor I continued to dive downwards into the darkness. I fell at high speed for about 7 seconds and then I hit a flat surface and my arms collapsed leaving me crumpled on the surface but feeling no pain from the impact. The dream came into view and I realised that I had hit a wall and I slid down the wall into a hallway in a brand new dream. "This is a handy neat little trick." I thought to myself

Ehh DEILD work fine for me, but this may be good for people who can't get them to work.

Well, it seems to me that mcwillis is actually performing his/her own variant of a DEILD. Pretty interesting stuff indeed. Do you keep your eyes closed while performing this?

No. The only requirement is to just dive downwards. It is from Michael Raduga's books

I was actually interested to see if this worked, so last night I had a lucid and as I started to lose it and everything turned black I tried to dive straight into the ground. I however hit solid ground, but I did a forward roll when I hit the ground and just continued to roll. The entire time I was in complete darkness, but somehow I knew that If I kept rolling the dream would come back and it did, but I was in a different area then last time lol.

KingYoshi's question was, 'Do you keep your eyes closed while performing this?'

Interesting. I have never hit the ground of the dream I have been in. Glad to hear that it worked for you. I am sure that if one acts quickly enough it guarantees a DEILD. One time I used this the original lucid lasted for about 30 seconds. The 2nd lucid lasted for about a minute. The third lucid lasted for about ten minutes. The fourth lucid didn't occur as I didn't act quickly enough and woke up. I tried other re-entry techniques but stayed awake.

I actually kind of do this when my sight gets lost after a lucid. I dive down to laydown on the cement. The 'darkness' you call it, is the void I seem to always go. If in the void, and you can't have a dream form around you, start thinking of any image you might have, and just concentrate. How many times have you been in deep concentration over something before going to sleep, then those words turned into pictures, and finally a dream? Countless for me (Those mostly are nonlucides). Just be careful not to 'fall' back to sleep (become unlucid).
