      Mental block on daytime awareness?

Basically, I started practicing becoming aware during the day some months back, but after a while I became really tired and couldn't keep it up at all so I gave it a rest. Recently I've decided to give it another go but the same thing has happened, although this time it's not so much being tired, it's simply a ''mental block'' that won't allow me to maintain awareness and I'm not sure why.

Any suggestions as to how I can overcome this? I was really starting to get somewhere.

It takes time. You aren't used to being aware always. The more you do it the more your mind gets used to being aware. It gets easier over time. The most important thing is consistency

That I can understand, but it feels like I'm trying to break down a barrier currently and forcing awareness more than letting it come naturally.

Keep a rubberband around your finger as a reminder of your goal to be aware. It's a simple yet effective trick.

If it is causing too much fatigue, schedule breaks for yourself. Plan on doing something where you purposefully lose awareness. I like to lose myself when I am painting or reading a good book. It is a good break.
