Strange way to get a lucid dream

Hey there, i would like to ask if this is considered normal.

So, i went to sleep using Auto-suggetion, later ended up getting SP and a DILD (not connected from what i remember). What's bothering me is that this has been happening for the last 3 ld's that i randomly get. I'm currently confused about this and dont know which technique that i just did.

And the mantra i used was to get a lucid dream, however i didnt think about how it would happen.

The sleep paralysis is a side effect of doing the Mantra as you fall asleep. If you're lying still for a long time, your brain can switch your body over into sleep mode while your mind is still cycling your mantra on repeat. Then since your still conscious, you will realize the change and stop saying it. And thus begins your SP panic. This is basically the same thing that happens when an overly-motivated newbie attempts to WILD right when they go to bed.
This is a good sign though as it means that you have good focus and a brain that's well wired for WILD.
If you want to continue autosuggestion as you fall asleep but don't want the SP, consider having a cut-off point. Such as say your mantra 50 times then allow your mind to drift off. For those who aren't wired like you, this helps to prevent insomnia when you stay awake half the night expecting to drift off with your Mantra.

How do I know this? Because the same thing happened to me while I was learning.

I like your signature and avatar BTW.

Glad to hear that, i'll be doing this with more intent then.
      Oh, and thanks.

Oh, and one thing i didn't mention, if i try to visualize a dream scene for a few minutes, i either get SP or jump right in. I guess i'll be putting extra efforts to figure out which method i should use.
