Practicing SSILD and MILD for 30 days

As i was satisfied of practicing SSILD for 30 days and i got good results on dream recall and vividness, i want to practice SSILD with MILD for another 30 days to achieve constant LDs.

I think by gradually increasing the awareness everyday, having LD is not determined by chance any more and it would be more predictable.

every one is welcome to join!!!!

      the technique:
      1- doing the SSILD cycles
2- after each 2 to 3 cycles, we should think about a dream we had before and then we visualize we are lucid in that dream.
3- we continue step 1 and 2 until we fall sleep.

to prevent falling sleep prematurely, you can raise your arm and do the step 1 and 2 and 3. Then allow your arm to fall and do some extra cycles and then sleep.

      good luck

Huh, what a coincidence, I just came up with more or less the same thing.

The problem for MILD with me is that the combination of visualisation and affirmation prevents me from falling asleep if I try to maintain it constantly/actively. But MILD works best if your intent is the last thing on your mind when you fall asleep. So I thought, why not integrate it into SSILD cycles, which counteracts insomnia? This way I have found that I can keep up my MILD affirmation right up to falling asleep (rather than doing it actively for a while and then giving up so I can fall asleep).

SSILD used to keep me awake, too. Hoo boy did I have insomnia when I first started MILD and SSILD. Visualizing "hard" wakes me up. The key (for us easy-to-wake-up-ers) is doing it in a very relaxed mindset, try making the affirmations and visualizations "softer and softer" as you breath and sink into drowsiness.

If you stay awake by doing SSILD or MILD then as i am sure you know, you should do the SSILD in a lazy manner. that's the only key for SSILD. I only do MILD when i am close to pass out....because if i do it while i am still awake, then it is really hard to fall sleep. beside, my mind would wander a lot before i fall sleep so i fail to take the messages of MILD into sleep.

ohhhh....the vividness and longevity of my dreams are abusing me....i was cleaning a house for 30 minutes and i remember every details of how i cleaned every window and the floor. no no no....i don't like it in this way.LOL
I had a false awakening at the last 5 minutes of my sleep too. but no LD.

haha great. I had a more fun 30 minute super vivid dream last night. Only one small part of it was focused on a miraculous new cleaner that had been "discovered" . I wish you more interesting dreams in the future!

Ok Ill join. I used ssild, but didn't have too much lucids. However, I did have great dream recall and awareness. I've been using mild lately, which has given me better luck. So I think that mild and SSILD would result in high awarrness and good dream incubation. This of course equals lucidity.so count me in

I tried the technique after 5 hours of sleep, but I just fell asleep without getting far in ssild. I didn't even get to dream incubation, which is the mild part.

Well it was my turn for boring dreams last night -- including cleaning up the long breakfast table of my apparently very large family. Everybody was leaving the table without even taking their plates and I yelled at them to at least take their plates away...

Ah I have been meaning to get back into LDing for a while now. This seems like just the thing that would be perfect for that. I can collect some quality data off of this and even compare it to you guys! (I am a bit of a nerd when it comes to this kind of stuf. I just love to collect data and find patterns, try out different stuff and see how it affects the number, stuff like that )

Anyway, is there any particular guide to SSILD or MILD you guys use/recommend? MILD is the technique that has shown the most results for me out of all of them. Though I have only tried SSILD once or twice with no result at all, only to give up.

Either way, I'll study some on the matter and try it out with you guys!

And of course a bit 'ol good luck to y'all!

In my case, i use the typical SSILD method introduced by CosmicIron

actually as i don't do dream journaling, SSILD can replace it as it make me to remember my dreams with high quality. I don't think SSILD alone can do much help to get lucid, at least for me.

my MILD method is just a simple suggestion plus by imagining i am lucid in my last dream. sometimes i can't believe i could be lucid in that complex environment of my last dream. so i think i have found my weak point....he he he...

      -----------------
      day 3=

As i had to wake up soon to go somewhere, i only slept for 3.5 hours...of course nothing can happen in this little amount of time (maybe when pigs fly).
But i can remember 2 long dreams as i did my practices before bed. Not bad at all....

I'm generally using DILD and a bit of MILD at the moment, but mixing SSILD and MILD together sounds like an excellent idea. I get insomnia sometimes and SSILD helps me get to sleep quickly! It also gave me an excellent lucid last December. I'll give this a try. My DILD day time work would effect the outcome, but posting results might be good for my motivation, so I'll post if I remember!

(Plus I've heard SSILD increases dream recall and vividness and I really need that at the moment.)

It was a hot night but I managed to get to sleep by doing the cycles, though I noticed in the first half of it I was doing the cycles "too hard" instead of going for the lazy approach. I did MILD before doing the cycles (just a dream recall mantra) as MILD can sometimes keep me awake. I did SSILD before going to bed and when I woke naturally in the morning. Remembered three dreams but no lucids yet. Ah, I'm happy for the recall after such a long dry spell!

I went to bed late straight after watching a movie so I didn't bother with cycles. I just felt really tired and needed to catch up on lost sleep.

I got lucid this morning after one attempt at this method, and the relaxed/lazy manner of doing SSILD is really what makes this work (from my experience at least). What I tried was using mostly affirmation/mantra and some very light visualization, since focusing on a visualization will keep me from sleeping. A few minutes after I became lucid, the dream was sort of cut off by a FA, which I believed was an actual awakening. There were huge signs that it was still a dream, yet somehow they I didn't question anything at all right after becoming lucid without anything, instead just suddenly knowing "I'm dreaming."

Sorry that this probably doesn't help much, I just thought I'd join.

mild + ssild sounds like an interesting combo. so if i'm doing short cycles 6 times and long cycles 3 times, i visualize being lucid after every 3 cycles i complete along with an affirmation? how does "i am aware i'm dreaming" sound? ssild also tends to keep me up as well.
