All Induction Techniques Besides DILD Have Failed

I am wondering if anyone has been in my shoes and busted through this lucidity inhibiting barrier.

My problem I am having is that I can only enter dreams the conventional way. I fall asleep normally, dream, wake up, then remember them. Any attempts with induction techniques has provided no results. I usually try DEILD or WILD after 5 of more hours of sleep. I have also tried the finger induced lucid dream technique, and i have tried entering sleep paralysis with no success. The only couple of times I have encountered sleep paralysis were at random. I have tried waking to try induction techniques with a gentle alarm, and with a natural waking. No success either way. I have tried waking and moving for a bit, as well as staying perfectly still after waking from a dream.

Here is a rundown of my attempts. Generally I will wake after 5 or more hours of sleep. When going back to bed I will find a comfortable position on my back, relax, and make sure to not move a muscle. I also pay close attention to keeping my mind slightly active so I do not fall asleep. Usually I will lay there for a short time, 5-20 minutes, and nothing happens besides getting more woken up and frustrated. At that point I find a new comfortable position and go to sleep as I normally would but it takes forever, since attempting to induce a dream seems to have woken me more.

I fully understand and respect that lucid dreaming takes much time and effort. I just would like to be able to utilize induction techniques besides attaining lucidity through a reality check. For a reality check to work I need to perform the reality check in my dream. If I could enter a dream with a waking mind, lucidity seems like it would be much more consistent and attainable.

A bit about my sleep habits.
-Generally get 7-8 hours of sleep per night
-Supplements have not effected my dreaming...or maybe I just need a higher dose
-Dream recall average-above average. A couple detailed dreams a night with many fragments, generally 4-10 scenes total
-Extremely rarely experience any type of sleep paralysis or hypnagogia. Can only recall a couple of times in my life
-I sleep in complete darkness, usually alone
-I am a light sleeper.Once awake for anything over 10 minutes I find it very hard to fall back asleep.
-If I have all day to sleep, I generally wake up before 9 am. My body has never desired huge amounts of sleep
-I have not yet honed the skill of meditating. Heck I'll admit it I am terrible at meditating
-Practiced dream recall and lucid dreaming a couple years back, just getting back into in within the last couple of months

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I think the key here is persistence and patience, I had a really frustrating time getting my first successful WILD (Which was the second technique I used, and is now pretty much the only technique I use) I just stuck at it and really gave it a good crack, try not to get fed up or frustrated. I personally have no experience with supplements and do not favour them a great deal, so I'd be little help on that front.

As for your frustration with the time it's taking to get into the WILD I'd probably try using a fan or another sound to concentrate on, it doesn't have to be anything special, but I found a fan worked best. Smack it on and leave it far enough away to keep it from being annoying but make the sound audible, then just WILD as you normally would, focus on the sound of the fan, really attempt to dissect every part of the sound as best you can, use it as your anchor.

      Good luck and best wishes!

There's no such thing as being bad at meditating, don't think about progress, just do.

I tried the free falling technique last night and still ended up just laying there for ages. I think I discovered a major problem which is attempting the wild in the night knowing I need to wake up for work in two hours. I wake up at 5:45, and made my wild attempt at 4:00. As the minutes added up I got frustrated because I knew I was wasting precious sleep time. I will try again on a weekend night when there is no pressure of waking up early. Maybe my more relaxed state will help.

I did however have a very long and vivid dream last night, so that is good.

Be sure to write those dreams down! They'll be useful when you're looking for your dreamsigns later on
As for your idea on being in a more relaxed mindset - I say go for it, could make a world of difference, but my former point still stays, persistence is your best friend mate, just keep chipping away at it!
      Good luck and best wishes.

      I have an update.

Last night I had no need to wake up early, so when I had a natural wake up at 5am, it was without stress or pressure. I tried to WILD for over 30 minutes without moving, and still nothing! No hypnagogia, no weird colors, noises, vibrations, nothing. I had a couple of moments where I felt as if I was staring into blackness. Maybe I was at the beginning of a sleep cycle so I would only enter deep sleep if I had continued my attemps. After a bit longer I concluded maybe my timing was wrong and went to sleep as I normally would.

The WILD is really eluding me!

Does it really matter how you get your LDs, as long as you can LD? Sageous once said this to me, and I guess he's right.
I only successfully WILDed once, the very first real lucid dream I had. I never managed to do it again. But trying to WILD has sometimes given me DILDs in that night, so it was just another form of MILD I guess. MILD works really good for me, be it just by using mantras or writing something down, whatever. I still really want to have that unearthly feeling of WILD again.

It's not that I'm putting great value on induction technique here. It is more about increasing the frequency and consistency of lucid dreams, and gaining the ability to WILD would surely increase the amount of lucid dreams one has.

why do you want to wild so bad?....i mean dont let me stop you, if thats what you want to do then by all means,.....im just saying, why dont you try an easier technique, like MILD?

everything you're doing seems good, except getting frustrated.....dont get frustrated while practicing or attempting lucidity.......look at everything as progress, stay positive, and EXPECT lucidity......expect it the same way you expect things and people to appear when you're summoning in the dream....

btw.....your nightly routine sounds perfect for a 4.5 hour WBTB-MILD session.........
      on break...

I already MILD and DILD, and use a sort of lazy WBTB technique since I am a light sleeper. I haven't tried a WILD since the last failed attempt and have been focusing more on all day awareness and visualizing my dreams as I fall asleep.
