Starting with state of mind, how many RCs did you do, which ones you saw in your dream, how you realized, how long you slept, WBTB or no...

You write instructions in 5 short sentences and see, if you could replicate your experience if you follow your own instructions.

No matter what you write, the instructions will be incomplete. If you were looking for few sentences how to best describe lucid dreaming to those that never heard of it, just to excite them and entice them to look up more about it, that would be a different story. But for that you could also use your own experience.

What's worth doing, it's worth doing right.
But, just for fun can you give it a shot? How about the 5 most important ideas for you. Just as a humorous thing. It is kind of fun to see what each person writes when forced to leave out almost everything.

Sageous, same challenge for you. Just for fun.

      I.can.not.do.it

      Everything in me screams noooooooo!

To reduce such a wonderful not only experience, but learning and experimenting to 5 sentences rubs me the wrong way. As if I was being robbed, haha.

But ok. I'm gonna tell you my 5 steps, how I got my first LD.

      1. Read Huy's thread http://www.dreamviews.com/general-lu...other-dcs.html

      2. Get excited out of your mind, almost to the point of peeing your pants.

      3. Read some tutorials, enough to know about RCs and mantras and importance of state of mind, do them the rest of the day, while feeling like the luckiest sumbich on face of this earth for discovering this amazing secret.

      4. Go to sleep with thought "OMFG, I'm getting a LD tonight! I hope The Illuminati is not coming to get me for this".

      5. Wake up at night from the most amazing, lifechanging event that you had no idea existed.

And here is my secret to LDing. Step #6.

      6. Read the whole friggin forum, while keeping the excitement up, which will not be hard because of the subsequent LDs. Read some more to try new techniques, if they don't work right away, enjoy the experimenting and reading new threads, till things start to slowly click. Dream, read, share. learn.

Thank you Dreamviews! You kick ass!

Okay, Sivason, for you I'll play... although I doubt I'll be able to match Gab's masterpiece above!

      1. learn to pay attention to your dreams by building your recall skills, particularly keeping the best dream journal you can.
      2. Read LaBerge's Exploring the World of Lucid dreaming, and do so carefully, with interest.
      3. Develop a strong sense of self-awareness by doing the mental exercises of your choice for several months or longer.
      4. Pick a route to LD's (Dream Initiated or Wake Initiated), then scour DV for the DILD or WILD techique(s) that seems most likely to work for you, and make learning that technique an important part of your life for at least a month.
      5. After carefully anticipating and perhaps even scheduling your lucid dive, go bed with the full and sincere expectation that you will have a LD tonight; repeat as often as necessary.

That's what I got, in one draft, anyway. I don't just think I left out more than I included, I know it, but that's as barebones as an old long-winded fool like me can get.

      1) 5-HydroxyTryptophan
      2) Sleep several hours then wake up
      3) lots of Melatonin
      4) get back to sleep
      5) Journal that Lucid

A much more certain way of course

      1) Travel to Germany
      2) Strap self into Induction Apparatus
      3) Fall Asleep
      4) Enter REM
      5) Have German Scientists apply 40Hz trans cranial stimulation
      its just too easy

@Cooley supplements will never replace practice. They can only 'supplement' it. It is like taking steroids and createne (though I don't think any supplements actually work half as well as either of these) and then never going to the gym.

      1) obsession
      2) research
      3) logic
      4) application
      5) consistency

I know these are words and not sentences, but it is this simple. Here are the sentence forms
      1) become obsessed with everything lucid or dreamy
      2) research everything that is lucid and dreamy
      3) use logic (sorry, you have to supply your own logic) to everything lucid and dreamy
      4) use your obsession, research, and logic to apply everything to you specifically (don't just take everything at face value)
      5) be consistent in your techniques, sleep schedule, and in steps 1-4.
