Lightbulb I just thought of a possible new method..

      Current Instructions
Go to sleep normally at night and prepare for a WBTB. After waking up, go over to your alarm clock and pretend that you are setting it up to ring after 5 or 10 minutes by moving the alarm needle a few minutes later than the current time. Now do not actually turn on the ringing switch so that it doesn't wake you up in real life. You are making it wake you up in a false awakening instead. After you're done with the alarm make sure to put it a little bit far away then go back to bed.

Once you're back in bed, your goal here is to go back to sleep normally. However, make a strong intention and believe that the "silent alarm" you just set up WILL go off ringing at the time you set it up to go off in. Let's say i put the alarm timing to 10 minutes later than my current time, i go to bed strongly intending that this alarm WILL wake me up after those 10 minutes. If you have made a strong intention and belief, the chances are that your internal alarm will trigger a false awakening. There is a chance that this triggers you to wake up in real life too, but i doubt it because waking up is done due to the alarm itself. If the alarm can only ring in a dream, i don't see how it would make you get up in real life instead.

With that being said, this method is not tested yet. The idea itself sounds promising and it sounds like it could work though, so i'll put some work and experimentation into this.

      Any thoughts?

Cool idea! I'd like to try it sometime soon. Never heard of anything like it before.

That sounds possible, but I fear that it could also wake you up for real, since your intention is to 'wake up' from this alarm.
Either way, it could be a cool method, especially since it incorporates your inner clock (which would make it pretty reliable).

Yeah, i think it's a possibilty to wake up for real aswell.. But if this does work the way i imagine it does, then it would be really easy to do.

haha this does sound interesting however, how would one be able to 'pretend' to set an alarm convincingly enough that the subconscious thinks it's real?
Nonetheless, I definitely think it could be promising with some more research and experimentation.

I'm not so sure yet, but i have a slight idea on that.. I agree though that this method needs more research/experimentation.. The initial idea sounds promising enough to try to improve upon.

The current method in mind is to have a real alarm and then set it up to ring at the specified time.. However, you don't actually turn the "ringing" switch on.. you just pretend it's "on" while it's actually turned off. The thing is that you use this alarm that you set up as an excuse that you are going to hear it no matter if you have it ON or OFF. I guess it would help to believe that this alarm is broken and that the OFF switch does nothing to stop it from going off.

For example, let's say i woke up at 3:00 for my WBTB. I would get up and go over to my real alarm that's accross the room, put the needles to point at 3:10 and then go back to bed. The trickery part is believing that it's GOING to ring.. For that i'm saying to pretend that your alarm is broken and that it rings no matter what.

Hmm I really like the idea, I can see it being incorporated into a placebo type of thing. If you were to treat it as a placebo perhaps a third party's involvement would be necessary to remind you of the fake alarm. Or perhaps setting an alarm that plays a familiar noise to you, this first alarm could only be to alert you, to wake your mind up. Then perhaps set a 'pretend' alarm which goes off a couple of seconds, or a minute or so after the first one.

However, the idea i'm pitching to you sounds like another technique I definitely think you should give a read. here's the link to it -- http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...torial-**.html

Good to see that the idea has potential..
I read before about the tutorial you linked, but since i can't use a digital alarm i can't use that method. I only have a normal alarm clock.

I'm trying to modify the method to raise the chances of it working.. So far it sounds kinda solid but not fully trustworthy, i guess it would rely on how good you are at believing that it's going to ring.

Oh how come you can't you use one?

Yeah I'd like to help you in modifying and developing your original technique, and the thing about how strong you believe it's going to work is highly important I feel. The method could entirely collapse if someone doesn't believe enough in the 'pretend alarm'

Anyway keep me updated on how it goes, like i said, I'd be interested in further developing this technique with you

Well, it's kinda complicated as to why i can't use a digital alarm.

Sure thing. I will try to improve this whenever i get new ideas to use, and i will eventually clean up my sleep schedule so that i can try this out and see for myself. You're welcome to help out if you want to.. I guess most of the stuff i come up with will be written here, perhaps when it functions properly as a solid method i will write down a proper tutorial for it. For now it's experimentation and ideas.. The hard part about this method is to trick yourself into believing that the alarm will go off no matter what.. I believe that if you can decieve yourself into thinking about that, this will work.

Nice theory! Somebody should try it, and test if it works!
