1 dream 10 dream signs, no LD

So its been 5 weeks since my last short lucid dream. Each day i journal up to 4 dreams, i have great recall and lots of rem each night. I meditate daily and am mindfull all day with reality checks every half hour. Each time i meditate i say ' next time i see a (dream sign) i will reality check'

I see dream signs all the time but nothing ever happens

Lat night i had a dream that had 5 dream signs in all in the same room!!! that contained the dream, but still unable to recognize or become lucid. I then had another 3 dreams and my dreamsigns were in all of these but no LD!!

Why cant i get lucid. When i first started training 12 weeks ago i had 8 lucids within the first 2 weeks then they stopped. I have not changed anything and i have a committed and positive mindset

I dont know what to do to make my dreamsigns trigger lucidity and really appreciate any help. I am 45 years old

While you're falling asleep, repeat the same mantra you repeat when meditating. If you forget about your intention while you're falling asleep, you'll probably forget it while you're dreaming.

Thanks for the reply Dolphin. My problem is that I change my mantra all the time because I dont know what mantra to say that incorporates all my dream signs. Throughout the forum i am told to creat my own mantra but this is proving very difficult

I have 10 dream signs so I dont know how to creat a short mantra that reminds me to do a reality check when i see one of these dream signs

Last night i ended up with about 10 mantras etc ... The next time i see (dream sign 1) i will do a reality check, the next time i see (dream sign 2) i will do a reality check etc

Please help me with creating a short mantra as 12 weeks on I still cant decide :-/

Wow, 10 different mantras is a lot - no wonder you're having difficulties. What about choosing a more general mantra like "I know that I'm dreaming" or something along those lines?

Hi, i know that the popular mantras are ' i will remember that im dreaming' etc but how does that help with dream sign recognition?

The words of the mantra doesn't really matter. What matters is the meaning behind it-your intention. Your intention is what makes it easier to remember to do a reality check in a dream. That's because an intention is something important and the more important something is, the easier it is to remember.

That said, focusing on 10 separate things is a lot! It's better to place 100% of your focus on one thing than 10% of your focus on 10 things.

Personally, I've been experimenting with using sight as my only dream sign. I've had a bit of success with it in the short time I've tried it. I also like to close my eyes and try to see through them as a reality check. If I were to use a mantra, I would use "When I can see, I'm dreaming". You can see all of your dream signs, right?

So, I would try this: Go to bed, close your eyes, and repeat to yourself, "When I can see, I'm dreaming" until you can see. If you miss a dream, don't beat yourself up, just keep your eyes closed and wait for the next one. When you need to open your eyes, do a reality check.

See how this would work? I'm going to try this myself tonight.

Lay down in bed well before you're going to fall asleep.
cross your legs or something so that your uncomfortable and can't accidentally go to sleep

then one by one imagine you are somewhere like driving a car and then you press on the breaks and they don't work then image oh a dream sign and reality check in the visualization imagine yourself become lucid, imagine yourself stabilizing, imagine your self doing some task like fly or conjure fireball or draw light saber or whatever.

Then move on to the next one then the next
cycle thru all 10 of them like 2x so your good an tired and thinking of all of them

then uncross your legs and use a simple mantra like 'I will reality check at my dream signs'
being extra tired from all the visualization should make you fall asleep quicker

better yet do all this but after you wake back to bed too
Sure LUCID DREAMS are all fun and games until someone loses a third eye.

Well, you need to be more aware in general to recognize a dream sign Your mantra doesn't have to include your dream sign, you just need to remember to consciously check for dream signs. So one of the common mantras like "I will remember that I'm dreaming" are more likely to do the trick.

I don't know how aware you are in waking life, but paying attention to details around you while you're awake can increase your general awareness and that can help to be more attentive in your dream world. Like, for instance, consciously noticing details in things you see every day.

Don't be frustrated. It might take a while to find the strategy which works best for you. Good luck and happy dreaming :-)

one good thing is to look around the real world when you are outside, notice every Number / Letter / Word
you don't have to read them all just think number word word... as you see them

In dreams you'll notice a distinct lack of such things

you might be surprised in the real world to notice a few dozen/hundred numbers/sentences in plain view most of the time

This is all fantastic and varied advice so thanks to you all. I like the idea of cross leg meditating / visualizing each dream sign before bed and then using the mantra ' next time i see a dream sign i will do a reality check'. I could then incorporate Dolphins idea of 'seeing' as a reality check. Combining all the advice given here I will try the following going forward

Please comment if there are any flaws in this technique ...

Whilst in bed (and after a wbtb) i will sit in bed and perform a meditation concentrating on my breathing whilst i go through my top dream signs one at a time. I start by saying ' the next time i am outside i will remember to reality check' - i then visualize myself outside doing a reality check. The i mantra 'the next time i see my dad or my brother i will do a reality check' - i then visualize my dad and brother doing a reality check. Once i go through all my dream signs which include a couple of very general dreamsigns I can then lay down and repeat 1 mantra ( if i see a dream sign i will do a reality check, if i see a dream sign i will do a reality check) and i continue with that same mantra until i fall asleep.

Also, during the day i practise yoshis ADA, including prospective memory exercises and random quality reality checks

I am able to record 3/4 vivid dreams every night so i have no problem with dreaming or hitting rem

What do you guys think of the technique im going to try, it seems very similar to http://www.dreamviews.com/attaining-...ml#post2096374

      Thanks everyone

Don't forget to wake back to bed

I just woke back to like 100mg of melatonin

      I had extremely vivid nightmare

I wasn't scared but by the end of it the dreamscape was littered with relatives

Don't mess with my stuff/pets not even in my dreams

At one point the front door was spinning like a top and bird cages were one place then another I was too angry to trigger he he
