      Smile Visualizing a scene

I just found out the FILD technique and really think it is my gateway to LD. I plan to set an alarm to wake me up in my REM phase, go into a 25 min snooze mode, do FILD and hopefully become lucid. If I fall asleep, the next alarm should wake me to try again.

I also know to do the nostril reality check without using my hands, just the back of my throat. So movement should be minimal. What worries me is that even when I go to sleep on my back, I wake up in the middle of the night on my stomach. Soo I MAY have to turn over to do FILD and that might wake me up too much. Any suggestions if this happens or how to avoid it?

Another thing is maybe wont have to do nostril RC to realize I'm dreaming. Maybe I can visualize my room and see if the becomes true. It should if I am dreaming. But not sure about visualization. Do I visualize myself in the scene? Or is it a scene thru my eyes? Things is most dreams I recall where I was a participant have me visible in them in a really dark environment. So how do I visualize?

      Thanks. Really hyped for this....

You could just do FILD while lying on your stomach. It doesn't have to be done on your back. As for visualization, you should try to imagine a dream, and use all your senses to make it more real. It. Ishtar help to read a visualization tutorial.

"I wake up in the middle of the night on my stomach"

The effort it takes to turn over may not be a bad thing, one does not want to be too dazed when attempting a WILD since that may lead to normal sleep.

If you are a light sleep and turning over wakes you up too much then it would be reasonable to do FILD on your stomach, I do not usually suggest trying WILDs in that position because it impedes breathing, but if one wakes up that way and can not move without waking up too much, go ahead and try it.

"Maybe I can visualize my room and see if the becomes true. It should if I am dreaming."

Under this situation I do not think there is one proper way or thing to visualise, if one really is in a dream already no matter what perspective you take or what you visualise it should start to form. Also there is the common method of attempting to 'roll over' when one thinks one is in a dream already yet the visual aspects are not present. One could also imagine oneself floating upward toward the ceiling, if you are already dreaming you will actually feel yourself start to move upward, unusual tactile sensations are just as good a indicator of being in or near a lucid dream as visual content.
