Different things work for different people.
For me, when practicing WILD, after the vibrations and sounds in my head go away (could be talking, or just a "buzzing" sound), I open my eyes. This almost always puts me in a dream. Of course, make sure you're asleep before doing this. Opening your physical eyes could wake you up and you'd have to start over again.
