[WILD Pros!] WILD Issue, sort of blockade.

Hey, whats up? How are you? I'm fine, thx.

      Anyways, I'm trying to WILD.
      Spoiler for (Background):
Whenever I WILD, I get to SP successfully. My body is intensely heavy and I can get my SP completely over my body, but as far as I can get right now, my heart speeds up, and starts going really fast, then, I'm not sure what is supposed to happen next so I start of just lay there.

I've tried to open my 'dream' eyes, focus on visuals, etc. But nothing works. When I open my real eyes, I'm still awake, and still have my SP.

Suggestions on getting past this, anyone? Thx

I used to get stuck at that point.

To get past that I would take 100mg b5/ 100mg b6 when I wake in the middle of the night. That seems to provoke you into actually dreaming.

Also, I found that I needed to try to stay awake while my body was going to sleep, after that you try to goto sleep to start a dream.

Well, I don't really want to take supliments or anything. I don't think I understand what you're trying to say in your final paragraph.. What do you mean "after that you try to goto sleep to start a dream", if I try just going to sleep I'll lose conciousness... o_O

Basically, when you lay down your mind wants your body to goto sleep. So you try to stay awake by counting / etc.

Eventually you will feel different. Your body will feel heavy. At this point your mind is not trying to make you goto sleep. This is when I will stop counting and just relax, either I wake up in a dream or I wake up in SP and get sucked in.

I once heard someone on here say "When you WILD... The point is not to stay awake, but is to fall asleep."

It took me a year of trying to figure it out. Its not easy, but it is well worth it. Good luck!

Conquer I commonly run into that problem, the best way around it is to try to find something that works for you.

Many people try to visualize, and focus on the hypnagogic imagery, But i find i dont get anywhere.. try using a difference sense, or a combination. Tactile sensations are a great way for me personally, it doesnt ALWAYS work, but i get much farther..

Instead of trying to see images floating around, or trying to imagine a world to "roll" into.. Just visualize yourself walking around somewhere familiar for you, basement, backyard, even in your car or something.. Instead of trying to picture your surroundings, start off just trying to feel your way around the room with your hands (Obviously mentally) A good way to practice is to simply walk around your backyard in real life for example, touch the grass, the wood, the cement, the bark on trees, siding on house, anything and everything you can think of, the more the better.)

Feel for texture, resistance, solidity, is it damp/wet? Is it sharp, smooth? etc.. I find by doing this in an area I am very familiar with, where I wont need to really visualize what stuff looks like, because I know the layout of my backyard very well . By using my touch senses I can pick up on very very very minute details, things I would never remember from vision alone, and from there my mind just paints the image, I cant explain it, It just happens...

This is because I am very comfortable with that sense, and it just seems to work for me.. Other people have such rapid results with visualization, I personally dont so I had to think of something else. Eventually try to pick up multiple senses at once, smell the roses in your garden, listen to the birds, feel the wind, even taste a piece of grass if your having trouble after the other 4 Smell and taste tend to lead to very vivid memory of something, thats it it takes sometimes, just need to get through the door once sp kicks

The point is not to over distract yourself with TRYING to slip into a dream, find an easy way where you can relax, but keep your mind active at the same time.

Man I had this same problem. I used to monitor my body while trying to WILD, but that would always prevent me from falling asleep.

What worked for me is to just relax and say to myself, "I'm going to have a lucid dream." After that I repeat to myself "I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming..." I've gone into dreams with full lucidity that way. The WILD I had today started off with a false awakening. My dad came into my room and said, "You're dreaming." I thanked him and had a blast.
As the pattern gets more intricate and subtle, being swept along is no longer enough.

ya i had that too. i would feel numbness come all over my body. my mind would be calm and relaxed while visualizing but for some reason my heart rate sky rockets. this of course keeps my body from falling sleep.

Try imagining the movement of your dream body, visualisation or tactile sensations.

Have you tried "rolling" out of your body?

When I experience SP, I lay there, and like psycho- student said, I imagine the movement of my dream body. I usually roll out of my body, or sit up.

Thanks a lot for all the info and ideas, going to start trying them ASAP.

I have the exact same problem, Conquer. I get to the SP state, but then my heart rate feels like it doubles, then I feel like I can barely breathe, so I have to breathe a lot quicker. I eventually wake up sad and dissapointed. D:

I tried to WILD earlier today and almost saw a man sitting at a computer desk, but it went fuzzy when I got excited. I'll try the things you all said, hopefully they'll help.

You shouldn't be lying there in SP for more than a few minutes at most. SP should be quickly followed/accompanied by HI. You're probably being too aware of your body while you're relaxing. Your mind should be in a heavily relaxed state. Whenever I get to SP, I don't actually feel my body. I know I'm in SP because it's accompanied by a change in awareness--instead of being sleepy and my consciousness fading, I'll suddenly feel aware. But I won't feel any sensations from my body, just a sort of heightened awareness. A few seconds later I get hit with a few waves of vibrations, and once they're over I can open my eyes in the dream.
We were always dreaming of how it was going to be.

My heart rate goes way up when I'm at this stage as well. Thats as far as I've gotten so it looks like we're at the same point in becoming lucid

I would point out at WBTB advantage. I had tried WILD before sleep for years with similar result ( SP and fast heart rate ). Once I started to WILD during WBTB it worked almost immediately. After a couple of hours of sleep the body is naturally relaxed. Sometimes too much to be aware enough so some time staying awake is required...
