      SMACK!

So I wasnt positive that I was lucid, so I smacked myself in the face, hard, and it hurt and I still couldnt figure out if I was Lucid.

Does anyone do this? Or pinch themselves?

      Re: SMACK!

I "pinch" my nose shut and, if I can still breath, I know I'm dreaming.

Give this method a try (it hurts less if you're wrong) !

I used to bite my tounge (not too hard) but it never worked, because I could feel it when I was dreaming too.
I think i'll try the nose pluging idea, it sounds good.

You CAN feel pain in dreams, so checking to see if you can feel pain is not reliable. The same goes for all your other senses too: it is important not to get thrown off just because a dream looks vivid.

Pinching your nose and checking if you can still breathe is a little better, though.

Well, technically, you can feel anything you can in real life in dreams. You are probably better off trying to notice abnormalities to determine if it is a dream.
Still trying to decide on a sig.

try running into something in an LD, well better yet, tell yourself you can go through it. I run through doors all the time in them, but if you're not in an LD, you'll end up feeling it

Sorry just had to laugh at that, I remember when I was younger and started Ld'ing alot of my dreams would take a turn for the worse so knowing that I was dreaming I would kill myself in order to wake up. My preffered method was jumping out of my bedromm window head first onto the concrete driveway. Then again just last week I was shot in a dream and it didnt hurt so
