      I just astral projected!!

I've read about it and been curious about it for a while now, but now I know it is possible. I just astral projected!!!

I have chills just typing this, it was AMAZING.

I was falling asleep with my TV on sleep timer watching family guy. I began to dream, it was a little fuzzy but I know I was in a circle with three other people just conversating. I noticed at some point that it was foggy and I could hear Family Guy in the background. This is when it all began. I realized I was dreaming but it felt different from dreaming. The people I was talking to faded and suddenly all I could see was black.

I thought to myself, STABILIZE. I was trying to get back to my lucid dream, but something more amazing happened. I felt my body on my bed, heard Family Guy, but I knew I was asleep. As I said stabilize and focused my vision into this black abyss, I began to make out two foggy eyes. They weren't mine and I knew I wasn't alone. I felt a female presence and saw somewhat of a gray outline of a woman's face looking at me softly. I felt that she was about to show me something, and I thought to myself, 'Do not be afraid. Trust yourself.' She turned her head, looking back at me playfully and disappeared. I felt my body on my bed and a rush of wind blowing my hair back. At first I saw just black and I felt my spirit in my body. I knew what was about to happen.

I lifted my spirit out of my body. I felt myself out of my body above my bed, but I still saw black. I began spinning slowly but not by my own will, like the female spirit I saw was taking me for a ride. Slowly out of the black abyss, I could see my room in a fog. As I spun around, I could see my door, my TV, my whole room. I couldn't believe what was happening. I continued to spin and finally finished the 360 degrees tour of my room and saw myself laying on my bed. Sooo weird!! Then I made a mistake...

I tried to look at my eyes but there was a fog over them. Fog hardly even begins to explain the experience however. Through this whole experience, my vision did not feel like normal awake vision. Almost like seeing through your eye lids. The scene looked almost how things do in a dream, but I had this feeling that I was not seeing how people do with eyes. It was more like I was viewing my room by memory in real time. Like I felt my surroundings and my mind put the pieces together. Everything looked like tunnel vision almost, like I could explore the world within my own head. Maybe this has something to do with the eyes of the soul. Pinneal-gland related perhaps. Things I focused on looked detailed, but everything just seemed mostly blurry but I was definitely seeing real time since I could see myself breathing and basically make out family guy on the TV. But anway...

I was trying to see my closed eyes on my bed. I hovered lower to my body lying on the bed breathing and I tried to focus on my eyes. Big mistake, I don't know why I did this. As I tried to focus my vision, I accidently started to open my physical eyes. They were heavy. Everything went dark again and my soul returned back into my body, I felt wind blowing my hair again, and then I felt myself on my bed normally. I opened my eyes, fully awake. I wish I had spent more time in this. I definitely want to get back here somehow and figure out what this female spirits represents to me. Any suggestions?

And why was I so lucky? I thought astral projection was something you had to work at. It was SOOO AMAZING!!

Ten fingers counting we have each nine planets around the sun repeat
Eight ball the last if you triumphant be
Seven days in a monkey's dream
Six senses, five around a sense of self
Four seasons turn on, turn off
I can see three corners from this corner
Two's a perfect number, but one, well....

I don't know much about it, but that almost sounds more like OBE (out of body experience) than AP. It's common in OBE to see your body laying in bed. I've also heard that you shouldn't fixate on the body too much or it can ruin the experience. Just notice it and move on. Like you said, paying too much attention to your sleeping body can make you return into it and wake up.

IMO lucid dreaming = astral projection. Darkmatters you are right that sounds more like an OBE. My first experience with lucid dreaming came after an OBE.

Some people will call it different things...OBE or AP on the lower earthly plane. An AP to higher planes would be pretty different. But really it doesn't matter what you call it, I'm glad you had this amazing experience, congrats. It's common for these things to happen spontaneously. A lot of people will experience what you experienced, and then try to work at it to have more...which I think is why you are under the impression that they only happen with practice. But most people will first experience it randomly, without having any idea what it even is. It's likely that falling asleep with the tv on sparked your experience, as it's pretty common for people who fall asleep on the couch or in bed watching tv, etc. to have unintentional OBEs due to the sounds and lights from the tv actually disturbing any restful sort of sleep and incorporating itself into the process of entering a dream and makes you more aware of the physical world rather than going directly into a fanciful dreamworld. You can definitely go back to this place and meet this woman again, of course, if you don't have another spontaneous experience, this is the part when you have to learn how to have an OBE. But actually, it's one of the easier things to learn, imo, since it merely involves trying to exit your body during the vibrational stage. For me it's more difficult sometimes to stay patient enough through the vibrational state and do nothing until I eventually enter a lucid dream.

I have actually tried imo before but I don't like it. It takes way too long for me and I usually just end up passing out cold after a while. Butmaybe now that I know what to expect it will be easier. Also whats the difference between ap and obe? I felt that if I hadn'tended the journey accidently so early on, I could have reveled outside my room. I have astral projected successfully before so I know what it feels like, but this experience was drug-induced. How do you know you're APing in a dream state? Now I know next time not to be so fascinated by my body since it ended this experience so early

Congrats on the experience. It's been years since I've had something like that. I totally understand what you felt during the experience because I experienced the same my first few times.

I believe the difference is in AP you are in the astrol plane when an OBE is actualy u in the physical world.

Also one way to separate AP from lucid dreaming or OBE is to invoke it so that you are not actually sleeping, but in trance. I have done that, but I have no proof to say that it is AP. Could have been severe hallucinations as well.
Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.
