Telekinesis is just a sub form of psychokinesis. It would be better to go after psychokinesis than focus just on telekinesis, you might actually have more success. Psychokinesis is basically mind over matter (psycho = psyche/mind/mental and kinesis = movement/momentum/motion) and includes everything from telekinesis to cryo(temperature), chrono (time), bio (organic), techno (electronics), electro (electricity), pyro (fire), aero (wind) that's about all I can think of right now. With mind over matter you can literally do anything you want to.
I've had some success with it, basically it takes willpower, determination, focus, belief and expectation. For it to be really strong you need a charge effect like a strong emotion or some kind of stimulant (caffeine/amphetamine). I achieved it through sleep deprivation which made my mind go into overdrive. But it could also be achieved through things like chi gong or tai chi. In chinese systems they believe if you match/direct your shen (mental will) with your chi (life energy) you can achieve this. If you dedicate yourself to it on a daily basis by constantly trying to manipulate outcomes using your mind you will have more success. For example, while driving your car try to make all traffic lights green, make cars move out of your way, make parking spaces available. Try to manipulate the weather, the wind, the clouds, the rain and sunshine. Try to turn off streetlights as you go near them, etc etc.
EDIT: Just to add... I read somewhere that we all have a pilot wave. It's like a mental projection of what you expect to happen in just a moments time. For example, you are driving over a hill. There are 2 possible outcomes - 1. there are no cars and 2. there are cars. If you expect there to be cars then there will be, but if you expect there not to be then there won't be. It's about programming your expectations and changing what your pilot wave projects into the world around you.
