Whether it is or it isn't, the real question is: who in their right mind would wish access to them?
Only one with no meaning in life would strive for access to them (knowledge corrupts, ultimate knowledge corrupts ultimately, destroys the ego) and most with no meaning in life nowadays commit suicide instead of being strong enough to strive for such a goal.

What are the Akashic Records?

the world's memories archives.

ahem merlock: because humans are curious by nature, and the past is one of the biggest sources of curiosity.

Am I right in thinking it knows the future as well?

The Akashic Records is a concept that describes Ultimate Knowledge, not just memories.
Knowledge of all skill, experience, memory, everything.

And if one was to gain access to it, one would gain access to all of it at once. It's not like opening a book, which you can only read partially.

Same here. I've always heard that it's the ongoing record of all things experienced and/or thought. That it holds the thoughts of all living things, but does not give access to the future (unless, technically, if time travel is possible and future beings have contributed to the records). Also, I've always heard that the information could be accessed in sections, not all at once.

Akashic records is the Ultimate Database of all events and beings.

those who entered Akashic records say that : Its a place where you see everything, where you can read anything ... from past..to the future .. from events...to the galaxy's.
Its a place where knowledge is free to access.

(Lets just say .. its the book of life)

In akashic records you can find an answer to anything, and everything.
Its a place where Kabbalah is aiming to access. A book of life and "Knowledge".

Actually, no, I was wrong on that one. I remember Michael Talbot talking about the Akashic Records in the Holographic Universe and he did compare it to Bohm's Implicate Order, in which case, it would have all past, present and future knowledge within. I withdraw my last statement. Lol.

Not necessarily. I mean what if you found out the each life was connected. Maybe Every life had a series of events that eventually lead to your present. All of these, including the present, is just building toward some great goal, one that would require multiple lives.

But, does anyone know how to access it through a dream?

Yeah, its pretty simple, follow theses steps:

1) become lucid
2) find a record store in your dream
3) ask someone where is the akashic section of the store
4) there you should find the akashic records, but you can also download them in Mp3, free on the internet

heheh sorry i was feeling funny and wanted to share that

on a serious note, though, from what i know its not that easy to gain access to it...there is some useful info on akashic records in the Book "Astral Dynamics" by Robert Bruce... but cant seem to find it around now... its a pretty good book however, maybe u should get one...

coment on one post above: in fact, the akashic records should/would contain all info related to life on planet earth, no only human but animal, etc. And both past and future. All archetypes, primal energies, etc. As far as i know about it...

3 weeks ago, I tried it in a OOBE. I went downstairs in my house. There on the
stairs I met a young boy whom I asked about the archive. We came though a room
with water an the floor. And then into a really big hall. But there all rooms were broken down.
There I met a registrar and he told me that he could only save a few books from ruination.
Maybe, it was not the right place

So can somone access the Akashic records??? or is it unable to get to??? If it is possible to get to anyone actully know how lol ?

How would you know that you found the right place? Do you think there is an emblem on the door.
And are the Akashic records not only an other word for clairvoyance?
For me, clairvoyance is something that shows the past the presence and the future.
So, the Akashic records are only a symbol for the same, aren't they?

I believe that gaining access to any such records would give anyone/everyone a serious mindfuck.

Just as it can be very physically/mentally draining to gain knowlege from school (even though school can be enjoyable), can one imagine how exhausting it would be to get "force-fed" chunks of infinate knowlege?

and how might it affect the human psyche?

From what I heard, in the Akashic records (represented differently for different people) a sort of librarian will guide you through the records so that you can pick what you want to learn.

I'm going to make some assumptions:

1. Lucid dreaming is easier to obtain that an OBE

2. You can have an OBE once lucid

3. You can go to the Akashic records once you have an OBE

However, I don't know how to reach any of these goals or assumptions.

Does anyone have any suggestions or more preferably, first hand knowledge?

you dont want to get into those records, trust me. there is alot more things that you can do, while in an ob.

but if you want to get into them, OBE is the best way, not lucid. I dont think you can get the reccords by just being lucid anyway... buttttt....

they say all of our minds are connected somehow in the universe so maybe, just maybe.

we all access the records on a daily basis anyway, we all think, and those thoughts go into them.

I can't say I know what an OBE feels like exactly, or if I've ever had one. I can definitely Lucid Dream though. Lucid enough that I can control what's going on.

I had a friend who ask me 3 questions and told me to dream the answers. Before I went to bed I asked to see the answers to his questions and then I induced a lucid dream by saying/counting

1 I'm dreaming...
2 I'm dreaming...
3 I'm dreaming...

until I fell asleep. I was completely lucid and found myself in a library with high vaulted cielings and lots of ornate gold decorations and columns. There I was handed a huge book with the answers to any question my friend could ever have. I remember being excited and I couldn't wait to bring the information back to him. Unfortunately by the time I woke up I had forgotten everything I had read.

I was convinced I had seen the Akashic Records.
