      chakras

i have recently been doing a meditation to help clear out my chakras. It takes me about 10 minutes as I kind of rush since I'm just "imagining" it anyways.... i am not really a spiritual person but I have been getting into it the past few months. Anyone know if doing this really helps or if just me imagining it in my head actually works?

I've done chakra related things in the past...

Here's the bottom line: it works. Does it matter why? Not really.

I am definately interested in learning more about chakras. All the websites say pretty much the same thing, and I might consider picking up a book once the stores open again. I've been doing the basic meditation of starting at your root and imagining a spinning force of energy all the way up to your crown chakra, so on and so forth.

I'm not sure if I feel any different... I 'think' I do? It could just be in my mind. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right either... I have a pretty good imagination, but I never really believed imagining things actually helped in real life.

And would this help with lucid dreaming or astral planing? I did fall asleep much easier last night after my meditation, but that could just be anything...

when all chakras are balanced.. we can go out of body..naturally..at least it is said by those who balanced those chakras and are able to go out of body.

imagination helps... just jump in feelings after a while..

I still haven't formed an opinion on the validity of chakras, but I practice similar meditation to chakra cleansing rituals, and it causes a physical feeling. Of course, I haven't done any measurements so I do not know if I am actually causing a change in my physiology or tricking my brain much in the same way as we do in dreams, but I'm not sure if the difference is relevant to its purpose.

Either way, if you are doing it right and it is working for you, then it seems to me that something will become clear to you and you will know it is working.

When I meditate in this way, a heat/pressure travels up my spine and through the front of my forehead as I focus on these areas. This is important to me, because it is not something I am consciously focusing on happening. I do not think to myself "a pressure is traveling up my spine," like in other sensory dicieving meditation I have done. I am simply trying to focus my awareness to these areas and that is the feeling I get when I do. I would imagine that you might feel something similar when what you are doing begins to 'work'.

Actually Imagination is a more powerful force than many think....

Sadly to say, as I have matured from a child I have lost some of my imagination, used to lie in bed at night before going to sleep and imagined anything I wanted, and oddly enough, had many lucid dreams, more vivid dreams.... connected, yes I must say so..

A good imagination can open your mind up to many things, it also usually helps for good visualization in the minds eye, which helps much with meditation, rehearsals of things,...etc... And of course this makes it easier to get lucid dreams, out of body experiences..etc..

So yes an Imagination is a powerful tool to have,
