The Difference Between Astral Projection and Lucid Dreaming

Ok, so many threads now have been ruined since people claim that LD and AP are the same thing, then they turn a good thread into a discussion about how alike the two are. So, i decided to make a thread for it, and try to clear up things.

The most common phrase for skeptics: "Ap is leaving the body after you go into SP, so is LD, you can do the same things, and so they are the same"

In many cases, you might think you are AP'ng, but instead you are LD'ng, i know ive had it happen many times.

But for the defense of everyone who believes in AP:

There is one HUGE difference between AP and LD.

Lucid Dreaming - While in a LD, you can change the world you are walking on, you can change the creatures, you can create other creatures, your arms and legs appear whole, and everything, and i mean literally everything, can be changed or created at your own will.

Astral Projecting - The biggest difference, In AP, you wander the world we know today. You cannot change the form of what you walk on, what you fly with, what you encounter, and what you think cant just appear anywhere. When your in an AP, there are set things, that you cannot control. For example, other people walk around, and you cant make them turn around, or to do something you want them to. You cant make a being appear to be your best buddy, and expect it to stay there for ever when your in an AP.

So for all you skeptics, when you try to AP, try to control everything. If you can, then hey your not AP'ng, if you cant, you have either a very low dream control rate, or your AP'ng.

Another thing i find funny is the comment "You can create stuff, it appears and floats with you and walks with you and you can use it to your expense", and yes in some terms this is true. When your in your AP form, you are still able to think about what your doing, therfor your concious is still with you, and you can make things appear. But, notice that whatever you make apear shape shifts, and turns into something you didnt want it to be, then it just dissapears.

      Discussion maybe?

I was about to post asking the differences between AP and WILD and came across this thread. I see what you are getting at but there is some incompleteness here:

So for all you skeptics, when you try to AP, try to control everything. If you can, then hey your not AP'ng, if you cant, you have either a very low dream control rate, or your AP'ng.
How then can you ever tell the difference between poor dream control and astral projection? If these two things are indeed different there needs to be a more fundamental distinction to trutly separate them.

So just today I had a dream where all of the locations were real, but things were odd, like, I would go to this building, but the inside of the building would be from another building, and other buildings would be placed were they weren't' supposed to go.

Is this AP? I wasn't lucid or aware that I was dreaming.

In LD nothing will happen if you don't believe it will. For example you can't find your dreamguide without believing you have one. So when you think you are astral projecting you are not going to believe you can summon things, right? In my opinion this is the reason you can't control the "astral plane". However, I can't AP yet and my dream control is very bad so I could easily be wrong, everything I know about either came from this website.
