Do you mean this occured in a dream or real life? |

First of all, this topic is NOT for debating the existence or truth of the following. This topic is for discussion, and to see if others have had similar experiences. |

I think you should be open to criticism if you're going to post something like this. |

One time I was going to be late for school, because I woke up at 6:24, and my bus comes at 6:30. I rushed ahead and got dressed, did my hair, brushed my teeth, all that stuff. When I was finished getting ready, and was about to bolt out the door, I glanced at the clock. 6:25. o.O |

What if I told you that I am dreaming right now?
That your whole life is a lie?
That the laws of physics as you know them are incorrect?
Furthermore, what would you do if I told you I'm going to wake up as soon as you finish reading my signature?
most of my time dilation happens in the early morning |
|
I've had 2 instances of this happening in my life. Although on a grander scale. I only realized because I was watching some t.v. at the time and was keeping an eye on the clock so I didn't miss anything good. |

Time loops are fun!
I had an episode of time slowing down when i was still at primary school. |
|
What you are describing is not time dilation, more like time travel. Surely you understand the difference? |
|
Like DuB said, you are describing time travel which I find hard to believe even with an open mind. |
|
eh. wierder things have happened to me I've had time slow down for me while playing football. Made the ball really easy to catch. You can recreate time slowing through cliff diving / parachuting / bunji jumping / anything with very high adreniline. Its the phenomenon of your eyes reacting to extreme stress, they go from seeing 30 frames per second as normal to 60 frames per second. Making everything apear to slow down. |

Time loops are fun!
Do people correct others on this forum just to correct people? I swear read my earlier post. It describes that as well. Others were saying that wasnt Time Dilation blah blah blah so i posted one for that as well. |

Time loops are fun!
Your experiences of your subjective sense of waking time slowing down, while certainly interesting, ultimately have little to do with the topic of time dilation as it pertains to dreaming. So far the only poster who has actually described an experience that could be rightfully labeled 'time dilation' is juroara, with the comment, "...I have this incredible amazing lucid dream, in the span of a minute or less." In dreaming, time dilation refers to the phenomenon of experiencing a great amount of dream time in a small amount of waking time. For example, someone may take a brief 20-minute nap and then wake up reporting that they went on a 3-hour long adventure in their dream. In extreme cases, people have even claimed to have experienced literal years of dream time in a single night. |
|
Time dilation is the phenomenon whereby an observer finds that another's clock, which is physically identical to their own, is ticking at a slower rate as measured by their own clock. This is often interpreted as time "slowing down" for the other clock, but that is only true in the context of the observer's frame of reference. Locally (i.e., from the perspective of any observer within the same frame of reference, without reference to another frame of reference), time always passes at the same rate. The time dilation phenomenon applies to any process that manifests change over time. |

HELL no! Where did I say that? This just happened. I was not in control or anything. |

I've had many experiences with the clock staying the same because of extreme time dilation, but it doesn't rewind lol, I think that was a bug in the software of your clock, it only happened once right? Or maybe you had a dream while meditating? Try doing it again and let us know.. |
