Dreams picking up email? Or collective intelligence...

      Hi there, first post.

This is something that happened to me a few months ago, and I still can't stop thinking about it...

I currently attend university, and last semester I failed a Math course after bombing the final exam. I was able to write a supplementary exam however, and was anxiously awaiting reply from the school as to what my new score would be.

A week or so later, I was asleep and dreaming that I was driving in my car, when my Blackberry started vibrating on my dashboard. I picked up the phone, and I had received an email from the university's math department, saying I passed the supplementary, and my adjusted Math mark for the course was a 64.

After a moment of "hurrah" in my dream, I awoke in my bed to realize that my blackberry was vibrating on my night stand. I paused a moment to verify that I was no longer dreaming, and reached for my phone. Before I picked it up, I simply knew what I was about to read.

Sure enough, I had just received an email from the university's math department, verifying that my new score was 64.

The email was "unopened" up until this exact minute, so I didnt receive it earlier that night and somehow read it, went back to sleep and forget.

Just thought I'd share this experience...

      Thanks,

      Tony

There's something about blackberries and mobiles. I used to sleep next to my mobile phone, my head right next to it. Several times I would suddenly wake up, stare in the dark for a few seconds, and suddenly hear *bleep bleep* and get a text message.

I'm convinced the signal somehow messed with my sleep, so I throw it to the other end of the room before going to sleep now.

Your e-mail story is really cool. I'm pretty sure you picked up on the vibrating, but to actually know the content of the message, that's something else.

Maybe precognition, it definitely sounds interesting. Maybe this will happen again? BTW, welcome to dreamviews and enjoy

To dream of passing the exam is one thing (wouldn't be too amazing considering the pressure of an exam), but to predict the exact score is something else. Are you sure you really got the score in your dream first, or did you perhaps read the score right after waking up, and it meshed with the memory of your dream? Just be careful you aren't filling in blank spots of your memory and reinterpreting the dream after reading the score.

Well, this just goes into the enormous pile of reports regarding deja vu being connected to dreams.

Some have stated that they have such utterly lengthy and powerful deja vu (along with good dream recall) that they know what's going to happen throughout a lengthy period of time during the day from a dream they had previously.

Though in this case, it's different. Instead of foreseeing a precise string of events, you foresaw one event (the phone message and what it said) but not being in your car, etc.

I'm utterly against the concept of collective intelligence, however, there's always various levels of empathy and the like to consider. And if that were the case, perhaps the reason you dreamt of this happening in your car but it happened earlier because whoever was sending the message had been planning on sending it later, yet suddenly changed their mind?

Did you drive anywhere that day after receiving said message?
Were you in any situation after this happening where you were driving a car with your phone present and all that day?

There are several scientific and occult theories on deja vu. One of my favourite is that time is not actually linear. One lives his life, say, from 20 to 24 years old, then goes to 50-55, then to 25-27 and so on. More, every interval is actually played a lot of times. Regularly (according to this theory) we do not notice that because brain adapt this, so we perceive it like linear flow, but sometimes we remember about former cycles, and this called as deja vu.

Dream theories on deja vu are also nice.
