This is very interesting indeed. I wonder, is the dreaming mind truly capable of picking up such details word-for-word? Or do only a few key terms register, and the rest is created ad-hoc?

Yesterday while out walking I wrote a short text message critical of Rudolph Steiner. While typing it on my phone, a stranger stopped me on the sidewalk and started talking to me about my middle school science competition t-shirt. He told me he had taught at Waldorf schools for years and went on his way.

One of the things I noticed years ago with regard to premonitions, is there are always two thoughts involved, mine and another one that intersects with mine somehow. The premonition comes out of the point of contact between those two thoughts, sort of. In other words, at that point of contact my sense of identity exists in a place from which premonitions arise spontaneously. Noticing this is what lead me into 'dream telepathy' experiences - I started paying more attention to the contact with the other mind and less attention to the precognitive aspect.

'Synchronicity, such as a stranger randomly talking to me about Steiner's school while I write a text about Steiner, has happened before in a similar context. My first blatant 'dream telepathy' experience was a clear response to my mentally describing what appear to me to be fallacies in Theosophical ideas about 'finer states of matter'. Those descriptions involve extrapolations of misunderstandings about 'physical plane' matter. I would like a description that's free of those misunderstandings. That is the same context in which I was criticizing Steiner yesterday.

Verdict: stupid!

I never rely on "it's vivid enough to remember later", it works sometimes... but not always. Like you say, fun at the time but not getting to keep the memories sucks, especially if there was something really cool or very interesting in a dream.

Today I had some fairly vivid dreams that I was wanting to write down, I lost all recall because as I woke up I spilled a drink I'd left on my bedside table before sleep; there's a plug just there so I got on alert pretty quickly, waking myself and my partner quite fully and abruptly too, completely forgetting all my recall in the process.

On the other hand, I did get to remember to question reality while this was happening and while cleaning it all up!

Appropriately, this last night, I had a non-lucid dream about being driven home by a friend. Since we were going to my home in my car, I thought it was more polite if I drove so I told them to park and switched seat. Getting back in the car, my friend was absent and the car was missing huge parts, especially where I imagined my friend being. I decided it must be because my dream wasn't "loading all the details properly." I went on driving instead of getting side tracked and searching for my missing friend, and eventually, my assumption that they were still beside me came true and they were back.

So what I'm saying is it doesn't seem to be "cheating" (bypassing the "true intent" of the dream) to use lucid logic.

True. Also, the dream's focus / message may be more about the puzzle itself, and how to solve it, than what's on the other side. Could relate to a life problem, and the dream's solution could resemble a real-life solution, in its own way.

The funny thing about solving problems by figuring it out without using dream powers is that it generally leads away from the original task. In my case anyway, if there's a puzzle to open a doorway, I'm more likely to see what's on the other side if I use dream powers rather than play with the inconsequential mechanisms in the room.

Quite right! I really like the idea of eddies because it does feel vortical in nature. Perhaps the idea of the 'assemblege points' could be applicable here, where instead of consciously, we are unconsciously shifted to a plane just beyond our acclimation. I'd like to think something along these lines could be the future of interdimensional/FTL travel for consciousness. Cheers fellow traveler!
