    1. White Moth (and Shopping Cart)

      by , 11-24-2017 at 09:05 AM
Night of November 23, 2017. Thursday.

I am near full lucidity and aware of my conscious self identity. I find myself in a parking lot at nighttime. A shopping cart is moving in front of me. Although I am implied to be pushing it, I seem incorporeal.

A white moth seems to fly from the front of the shopping cart. It rises in the air about three feet in front of the shopping cart before I awake with a lighter hypnopompic kick.

This dream is a typical though interesting example of the type in which the symbolism and its inherent meaning is solely premonitory of the hypnopompic kick during the waking transition, and as such, is unrelated to waking life or so-called “interpretation”. Self-contained biologically premonitory dreams of this common type often utilize a flight symbol as here. This is because of the nature of inner ear dynamics and the ascending reticular activating system. (When one is unconscious, one does not usually viably perceive one’s real physical body, which often creates a sense of floating, falling, or associations with flight.)

The parking lot represents the transitional state between dreaming and waking and is usually unrelated to conscious self factors.

The white moth, inherently a natural biological symbol rather than an “interpretable” feature, relates to the circadian rhythms of the sleep cycle in three different ways. One, its whiteness is associated with the moon and sleeping at night (especially as it is airborne as an analogy to the moon being in the sky). Two, its nocturnal nature (most moths, but not all, are nocturnal) is also relevant to sleeping at night and being in the dream state during a specific time in the sleep cycle. Three, the flight symbol aspect has already been explained in the third paragraph above. This type of dream occurs at least once during every normal sleeping period (and has for over fifty years), though more often involves walking through a city at night and tripping over the curb and “falling”, also directly biologically premonitory of the hypnopompic kick or waking start, as well as spontaneous muscle tension and release, and unrelated to real life.

As fully explained in numerous past entries, the hypnopompic waking mechanism (waking start) and its biologically premonitory dream-related events leading up to it by way of the waking transition (and the ascending reticular activating system) are more vivid and intense when I have done a lot more walking prior to sleep, which proves that this dream’s symbolism is based on biology and anticipation of waking, not some sort of nebulous occult “symbolism” as found in so-called dream dictionaries or other nonsensical publications.

The shopping cart’s appearance is a literal remnant (though its perceived movement symbolizes the real-time waking shift during unconsciousness), not an “interpretable” feature, similar to a bed as a literal dream state indicator (as is being undressed in public as one does not typically wear clothes to bed), as I had been pushing a shopping cart around for about two hours prior to going to bed. In fact, walking a lot while pushing the shopping cart is why this dream’s symbolism is as it is concerning the specific nature of the hypnopompic waking start and the spontaneous release of muscle tension in unconsciousness.

This dream lacks the personified preconscious common to other dream types. As the hypnopompic waking start is the waking mechanism (and as a result has more energies linked to the physical body), a personified preconscious is not needed to initiate waking (for example, from such as imaginary conflict, perceived “intrusion”, or being chased by the preconscious waking function). Also, when lucid, the dream self obviously takes on more threads of the conscious self identity, thus is already closer to viable consciousness.

This dream renders and utilizes “exit flight waking symbolism” in incidental contrast to “return flight waking symbolism” (both very common types of waking symbolism) as in dreams such as “Kite or Bird? Self-Breaking Window?” from November 9, 2016 (though there are thousands more in my personal database). There seems to be no difference other than the factors of circadian rhythms dynamics, that is, the white moth flying away from me symbolizes associations with nighttime becoming more dominant in my semi-conscious state and the dream self to continue to sleep and experience additional dreams, while in the other dream, the white bird flying towards me is more about the cessation of the dream state (and its coalescence “back” into the unconscious) towards morning, especially regarding the window-breaking symbolism (the increase of neural energies eliminating the illusion of the dream state), the bird related to the “return” of my conscious self identity in that case (and despite the fact that some birds hunt at night, a bird of that appearance is more associated with daytime). Such symbolism has been inherent to my dreaming history since early childhood in the same context but usually with unique scenarios and elements. I am fully familiar with its meaning and virtually infinite variations and have zero interest in the popular fallacy of “interpretation”.

    2. A 3D Printer, Orthodontic Headgear, No Brains, and Lucidity

      by , 05-17-2017 at 09:11 AM
Morning of May 17, 2017. Wednesday.

I was experimenting with a different type of induction last night. Needless to say, it had a very odd influence. Only the last scene is partly based on a conscious script.

In the first scene, I am in bed in our present home but not lucid. I am aware that we have a 3D printer in the lounge room. Zsuzsanna tells me about making something with it and I assume she means something like a figurine, perhaps a cat or teddy bear knickknack.

Instead, she brings over what she made and it turns out to be a section of teal-colored embossed cardboard of about A3 size. It is somewhat shiny and the design is made up of equidistant curled leaves with S-shaped lines connecting them.

The personified preconscious appears, but curiously does not dominate the scene or initiate any familiar waking symbolism. He seems to be wearing some sort of large orthodontic headgear, like a metal frame slightly higher than his head and sitting on his shoulders. We sit facing each other. I see “him” as some sort of unusual “partner” who may actually be female. I vaguely think of my mother (though my father as well for a short time), especially as the setting seems to be a version of the northeast corner of the Cubitis living room - but I seem to think we are the same age even though “he” seems to be around eighty years old. I try to project deep love into his (her?) eyes. We might even have been married for fifty years or so. The eyes knowingly gaze back at me and I sense both weariness and incredible persistence despite the state of their health. I try to be sincere in my love, regardless of how bizarre this entity appears. I want to make sure that this entity is aware of my love for them. I keep staring at “him” and slowly, it seems that she is going to go shopping.

I stand up and look down at her as she is still sitting and facing me. The inside of her head is mostly hollow, somewhat like a container. It seems very strange to me that there is no discernible brain. In fact, the back of her head is mostly missing. When she looks up at me, a lot of white and red fluid flows from the back of her head (over the lower edge of the open space) onto the floor. I am puzzled as to whether this could be problematic and whether it relates to some sort of left-over brain energy. I tell her of this but she seems slightly annoyed over my concern for her and gets up to go shopping. At this point, the area seems to be somewhat like the second floor of the King Street boarding house, the second room back from the front (north) of the mansion. However, it turns back into the Cubitis living room in the next scene.

I am in the semidarkness now but a doorway is discernible from where some light is coming through. It is a bit east of where the hidden door was in reality to the room my father built (which blended in perfectly with the knotty pine wall as it was the same piece from the wall).

I go over to it and look out and see that it seems to be late morning. There is a slight lucidity, which begins to grow. I absentmindedly create several random dream characters that walk about in the yard between the orange grove and the carport. Despite doing this, I am not fully lucid (and still consider whether I am dreaming or not). I feel slightly annoyed that the doorway does not seem wide enough to suit me (even though it is). I use my right hand and arm to actually move the entire right door frame so that it slides back like a sliding door (even though it is not a sliding door). (Despite my age, I do not presently recall doing this specific act before in a dream, as potential re-induction is usually only based on opening a door, not causing the doorway and wall to change).

I walk over and sit on the ground and have a younger version of Zsuzsanna stand over me and we soon indulge in lovemaking. An unknown young Asian male, in some sort of Darth Vader costume (though without the mask) stands too close to us for a time. I push him away, though not making him fall over. There is a soft awakening, but quite different than the blissful one of one of my dreams from yesterday.

This is apparently the first time that re-induction was subliminally initiated by the “brains” of the preconscious persona spilling out of the back of “his” head onto the floor. Whatever next. (This level of subliminal control over the transpersonal is amazing, I think.) At least it delayed my waking transition for about ten minutes.

    3. Little White Riding Hood (precognitive imagery)

      by , 04-09-1976 at 06:00 AM
Morning of April 9, 1966. Saturday.

This, I believe is the first version of this dream, a day before Easter.

I am in an unknown region. There is an isolated house in the forest but near a winding path. Oddly, the house seems “cut in half” in that some outer walls seem to be missing but a family still lives there. The imagery is intriguing and appeared in other dreams with different themes later on, including some featuring the “mystery girl”.

I am aware of a real, living wolf, but am also aware of the “ghost” of Little Red Riding Hood, who is wearing a white riding hood and is mostly glowing all over, a white light with a lighter bluish tint. She seems somewhat sad and lost. I talk with her but do not recall the conversation - there is an unusual awareness of peace at one point as if she is to be a long-term part of my life. The association may be related to a basket she is carrying being filled with Easter eggs, but I also get the impression they will hatch at a later date rather than being eaten. Even though my dream implies she is a spirit and that the wolf has possibly already eaten her, there is still a strong presence of her in my dream. She is dark-haired and green-eyed and very pretty. There is no direct threat from the wolf although I do see it looking down from a ridge in Chipmunk Coulee (recurring).

Interestingly, the only other time I saw this precise dream imagery was of an actual “incomplete” house in a photo my wife-to-be had sent to me many years later. This, like many other dreams, seemed to establish a connection to my beautiful wife (and “dream girl”) a couple years or so before she was even born.
