    1. 18-02-04 Things Again

      by , 02-04-2018 at 11:22 PM
This series of 'dreams' happened while I was drifting in and out of consciousness, and as such I had some minor control over the plot. I could recall the plot of the last dream, and the next dream would usually somewhat share narrative threads with the previous ones.

I'm on a derelict cargo ship of sorts, and it's being attacked by a blob-like Thing. The creature is made of a kind of organic, living 'liquid' capable of taking any shape. Its 'skin' is a luminescent orange. When shot or otherwise injured, the dead tissue turns a dull grey and the dead liquid turns hard in that spot. However, the creature could regenerate, and much faster than we could injure it. I'm pretty sure it could assimilate organic matter is touched, too. It grew in size until it was like a giant kraken enveloping the ship completely, its limbs even going inside the vessel, through its hallways. I thought that the only thing to do was perhaps nuke it. The creature, and especially the orange luminescence, was based heavily on the Uroboros virus from Resident Evil 5 and Revelations 2, a game I'd played the day before.

I was chased into my old family home by a Thing, but this one was sapient. It was like a combination of Pennywise and The Thing. I was more of an observer in previous dreams, but now I'd caught their attention. I ran upstairs, into my old room, and through the window. I jumped out into the farmer's field below. The Thing had take the form of a dinosaur-like creature, like a kind of Velociraptor. I knew I was likely screwed, as the field was a wide open space and the raptor would surely run faster than me. Luckily, I drifted close to consciousness in that moment, and I could switch the dream to the next scene.

This one took place in a forest, and involved a guy and a girl he loved. At some point, the girl was taken by 'It', into a bunker. The bunker door closed behind them, and I knew a nuke was going to go off any time now and wipe him (and everything else) out. At this point, the line between genuine dream and waking fantasy blurred. I 'saw' or 'fantasized' a scene, years later, where the guy was on a motorcycle, riding on a long road through a desert wasteland, accompanied by a band of bikers/resistance/survivors who had picked him up after the previous scene with the girl. I felt pretty sure that later in the plot, he'd meet the girl again.
    2. 18-01-28 Lots of Short Dreams, Nightmare

      by , 01-28-2018 at 04:48 PM
I had over a dozen short dreams, all of which I forgot. Luckily. Don't feel like typing that much today.

One dream stood out. I woke up at 5AM from a dreadful nightmare, presumable about monsters like in 'The Thing'. Yeah, most of my nightmare creatures are from 80's movies. I felt intensely paranoid and fearful, and I jumped at every noise I heard coming from the hallway. I tried to ignore it, but couldn't. I proceeded to 'clear' my entire apartment room by room to make sure there was nothing there, and checked the doors were still locked. Only then, I calmed down a little and managed to continue sleeping.

    3. 17-10-26 Things

I was sitting in a garden (I assume it was the garden of our old house, but it felt different), looking out over the landscape. The landscape was one of rolling green hills, and a very cloudy, grey sky. The air felt very humid but cool. I was admiring that I was on Earth, as other worlds are mostly dry, barren and devoid of atmosphere or life. Debby, my father's wife, walked past me.

Then things got pretty horrific. I saw a transforming 'Thing' in the house. You know, like the monsters from 'The Thing'. My character (I was no longer myself, and I was now watching 'my' character as if I was just a camera) shot it with his gun, and assumed it was dead. As he left the house, the Thing grabbed him by his leg with one of its tentacles, and dragged him back inside. While being dragged, I saw a shotgun on the ground between him and the monster. He grabbed the shotgun but didn't shoot (?). He got bitten by one of the Thing's many mouths. That's when I woke up. The monster had features of various animal species. It had the head of a whale, tentacles, and features of a few other land animals. But all horribly deformed and 'unfinished'.

    4. 17-09-XX Grandpa Dead in Cabin, Things

      by , 10-24-2017 at 12:02 PM
Scary dream. I saw some kind of cabin. My grandfather, who died recently, was there. In a later scene we saw what happened after we (myself and possibly other family?) left. We had to abandon him because he had some kind of disease that as a threat to everybody. Grandpa was dead, and on the floor. He looked like he suffered a lot. It was very dark in the cabin. Only moonlight lit up the room. The floor, walls and even the ceiling was covered in red... stuff. Not blood. More like the red weed from "The War of the Worlds", or "the Ripley" from Stephen King's "Dreamcatcher". The scene looked creepy as hell. I felt like something evil was in there with us. There was a girl with me, now. Dire circumstances throughout the dream (mostly forgotten) had brought us together. I was crushing on her, hard. And the way I acted around her made it very obvious. I didn't care things were bad. Not if I got to be around her.

In another scene I found myself in medieval times, I think. I was in some kind of arena, sitting on a long bench with a bunch of other people. The person next to me told me to leave, quickly. I was apparently in danger. Possibly, "they" were after me.

Horrific dream. Sort of a continuation of the first. It was a frantic chase through a house, where I was being pursued by... Things. Like the monsters from John Carpenter's "The Thing". More and more of our group were being turned, mutating horribly, and I was now the only one left. It was awful and terrifying. I vaguely remember a bedroom, where I jumped through a window (through the glass) to escape one of the Things and "fell through dimensions". Impossible to explain in words. The dream concluded with an open ending... but I suspected I had been turned without knowing it myself, or as about to be turned.
