    Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness

No order or method to the madness, just random dreams that I found interesting and worth keeping track of.

    1. Supernatural

by , 03-16-2015 at 07:46 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
A girl and I are in a large tower with a spiral staircase winding up untold heights through the stone walls. It becomes apparent that there is an evil spirit chasing us. We run up the stairs for a while, then duck into a room. I run back out to distract from the girl and run up the stairs some more. But the girl doesn't hide like I thought she would. Instead, she decides to sit on a table and just face the door, waiting for the spirit to get her, as if by seeing it, things will be okay. I get a feeling of doom as I see the creepy spirit woman rush through the door and tackle the girl. My heart sinks in my chest. But there are more harmful things nearby, and nothing else I can do for her, so I try to stay hidden to fight another day.

(This was a lot cooler when I first woke up, but I went back to bed for 3 hours, then went to work, so some of the details have eluded me at the moment.)
    2. Lucid Dream Character Testing

by , 12-28-2014 at 04:25 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
Laying in bed, I'm partially aware of some outdoor scene at CSU, as well as my body laying in bed. I can see both scenes, and know that the outdoor scene is just a dream. I focus on the outdoor scene where my friend is standing far away across a few benches and trees. As I continue to pay attention to the dream, I am suddenly in the dream fully. It feels a bit unstable, like I could wake up at any moment. I call out to my friend, and he responds just like he does while in the waking world. I walk over to him, but he doesn't have a whole lot of other responses in this dream character. I talk to him a bit, and he doesn't answer at all, he just looks at me blankly for a bit and starts to turn away. I know it's a dream, so I decide that maybe his role is just long distance shout-greetings. I walk about 30 feet away and yell out to him again. He responds as usual. That definitely appears to be the case here. I yell out various versions of 'hey! and hello!' and get a great genuine seeming response each time. Just a little weird how repetitive it is.

Bored with his limited responses, I go into a nearby building, which turns into a clothing store. Not interested much in buying clothing, especially not in a dream, I instead try to find some girls to talk to. There are a lot of girls in this store, but they are all ignoring me and walk away as I walk up to them, even as I say 'hello'. I go up to one of them and step in front of her so she has to see me and tell her that her scarf is pretty awesome because it's the best color blue that exists. She smiles, thanks me and turns away. I still know it's a dream, and decide that this must be some sort of belief I have about people that doesn't seem to be helping with anything. If this is indeed a belief I have on some level, I am now determined to get rid of it.

Suddenly, the dream changes completely, and seems completely real. I forget that I'm dreaming. A girl gets on my shoulders and I give her a piggy back ride. I don't know where, I just walk as we talk to each other. She sounds nice, but I have no idea who she is. Eventually, we reach a large room where lot of people are sitting on the floor. I set her down and we both sit on the floor as a video is played on the wall in front of everyone.

    3. Fragment - Nighttime Walk

by , 11-26-2014 at 01:33 AM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
I fall into an icy river, and race a polar bear to a floating ice berg. We both get there at once, and climb atop to get out of the water. Floating for a little while, we approach a large waterfall. I suspect there are lots of rocks at the bottom, so I jump to shore before falling over the edge. Several people run over the edge of it, telling me to do the same. It is really far to the bottom, so I can't tell if they made it safely or not. I decide it's too risky, and turn from the cliff. Walking uphill, a young lady is next to me, quite short, and I can't see her face. Suddenly, I recognize her, and she's my age it turns out. She climbs on my shoulders and I give her a ride to a small cottage. No one seems to be home, but she wants to check first before we go inside. I take in the beautiful warm night scenery around me as she checks. Not much light, just a dim glow to the grass, the ground, and the cottage. There are some trees in the distance that all blend together into one blob of shape and color. The whole dream seemed rather surreal, and very fluid.
    4. Mouse-Eating Spiders

by , 09-04-2014 at 03:04 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
Alarmed at so many mice all over the floor, a random army guy starts shooting at one of them. Satisfied, he walks off quickly. I look behind the chairs to see if the mice are okay back there. One of them looks injured, but none look dead. They are all tiny little baby mice, not much bigger than a fingernail.

Huge spiders are chasing all the baby mice, trying to eat them. I see a massive spider, holding a writhing baby mouse in its fangs scurry past me. The spiders' legs are thick and powerful looking, all covered in fur. About the size of a tarantula, but meaner and stronger looking. Well, the mouse problem doesn't seem like it will last for very long. I don't feel safe around these giant spiders though, so I walk out of the room.

The next room over, I see room mate struggling with some algebra problem involving food and supplement measurements, and the FOIL process. I show him the OIL part of it, then realize I forgot the F step. I try to explain that first step, but now it's completely over his head. I'm a little disappointed, because it's super easy, he just doesn't want to know how to do it.

I go into a different room, and cuddle with a girl on a couch. She is doing a FOIL problem correctly, and I'm happy to see someone get it. There is a TV on in front of us, but I don't even look at it or care what's on. I just notice the gentle blueish lights flickering on the screen like a strange lamp. Then I notice a giant spider on my left hand. It is a different kind than before. Thin spindly legs and a small body. Just really really long legs. I discretely move my hand behind the couch and fling it off. But it returns rather quickly, and is crawling over the girl's hair! I try to get it to crawl onto my hand by blocking it's path, but just as it takes a step onto my hand, she sees it, screams, and shakes. The spider is thrown through the air once again and we sit back down.
    5. True Love: Unlocked by Water-Bow

by , 08-05-2014 at 01:33 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
Inside a large indoor pool area, there is an extravagant show being performed with several attractive female divers, all dressed up with large winged costumes, and lots of sparkles, but definitely in just bathing suits underneath the fancy stuff. I sit down next to a glass table, mildly interested in the show, an announcer barely heard in the background. A cardboard box flap pokes me annoyingly in the arm, sort of stuck between my arm and the table. I lift my arm up to free the flap and move the box, just exactly as the announcer asks if there are any volunteers from the audience. He looks right at me as my arm is in the air, and waves me forward.

Panic stricken, I slowly stand up and wave at everyone. Some assistants escort me to the stage near the pool, below the 8 or so attractive divers. I guess I wasn't really paying attention at all. It turns out that there are other volunteers as well, and we are going to take part in some sort of competition against each other with the help of the women above. One volunteer per diver. We are lead up to their platforms with very little instruction as the announcer excites the audience for what's about to happen. The diver I'm standing with is just about my height, and very tan, like she comes from a country where it's just normal to be very tan. Actually, even more beautiful up close. I try not to get too distracted. Our eyes meet, and we smile at each other. Basically everything she's wearing is sparkling at this point.

She informs me that we are doing a trick-dive competition, and I am to go just ahead of her, and support her from below the water, while upside down as she stands on my feet. If she weren't so pretty, I would normally hesitate a bit, but don't even think twice. We get the signal, and I jump off the 100 ft tall platform, face first, and dive deep into the pool. Holding my breath, I feel her land gently on my feet, and dance or something, I can't really see. Then she tugs me up to the surface. Relieved, I take a huge breath at the surface as we swim to the edge of the pool.

Round two is basically the same. Apparently, one team was eliminated that first time, and we are to do that again. This time, my shorts ride up too far for this kind of show, and quickly get everything back inside before exiting the pool. A few more rounds pass like that, with me just thrilled to be with this girl.

Now, standing atop the platform, I notice we're the only team. It is the final challenge. We must do something difficult to win a worthy prize. I don't really know what to do. I'm lucky enough not to die upon impact when I hit the water, let alone do anything fancy. The girl up there with me just tells me to hold my breath for a while, and she'll do the work up top.

We jump, and it seems like I'm falling in slow motion this time. I take a huge breath of air, but realize I was a bit too early, so I let it out fast and take another huge breath immediately before I hit the water. For some reason, I am immediately out of breath, despite the huge breath I just took. It's not that big a deal though, just uncomfortable, and I can push through it for some time. It gets more uncomfortable, but still bearable.

The pressure on my feet from her standing on me is lifted, and I see her dive down next to me. I return right side up, but no longer need to breathe under water. We can talk underwater now as well, but that's just normal. She tells me that we've won, and has a huge smile on her face. She gives me a big hug, and then we both look over at a giant treasure chest that is sinking to the bottom, together with a large ornate crown and a really fancy looking decorative bow. I put the crown on her head and tell her she deserves it because she did all the work. It makes her look even more beautiful.

Picking up the bow, I draw it back to full power and tell her something about it being a really cool bow. Probably endows the user with some sort of power or something like that. A look of terror quickly comes over her face as she reaches out to stop me from dry firing it (wet firing it?), yelling something like it's going to kill me. But too late, I let go of the cord, and the two of us watch the pressure wave float toward the treasure chest. It hits it, and breaks the lock open. That wasn't supposed to be able to happen That treasure chest was magically sealed, and only certain people were to be able to open it. Plus, the bow was cursed, and was supposed to harm the user. I wasn't even aiming at the treasure chest at all, I was more focused on showing off the bow than anything.

Inside this treasure chest, amidst the gold lining, and shiny gold plated walls of the box, all glowing radiantly, is true love. Sweet, I've found true love! I look over at the girl, and kind of doubt it's her. She's not really my type, but what the hell, if it's true love, that's good enough for me. We hug again and look into each others' eyes, still speechless in amazement of what just happened.
    6. Stocking Dairy at 95 F

by , 07-11-2014 at 03:57 PM (Schmaven's Dream Journal of Randomness)
Literally dripping with sweat, wearing a sweat soaked T-Shirt, I am stocking the dairy cooler at work. I feel ridiculously warm, but also much relief from grabbing cold cartons of milk and other items. Feeling the wet condensation on the bottles, I let it cool me down as I work. I notice there is an attractive co-worker nearby working in the produce section. It's hard not to notice her, and I am aware of her presence. Mostly just enjoying her company, I try to fit everything from the cart into the coolers in the appropriate spot.

Waking up, it is 95 degrees F (35C) in my room and I am literally dripping with sweat... It was nicer in the dream working with the coolers.
