Lol XD Great dream and funny how that dc was about to repeat the same thing. I also liked how you continued even after the task was done too.

Yeah, even when i'm lucid I find myself doing some kind of weird things. It's like my brain works a little differently when I dream. Different things stand out to me as important. Or I solve problems in odd ways (like in this dream). It's interesting to analyze my dreams.

      Thanks for the comment!

The quote from Milarepa is from the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying end of chapter 3 by Sogyal Rinpoche.

DannyCool--I somehow missed your comment until now. Thanks for sharing your insight and advice! It's interesting stuff to think about. I don't dream of dying too often, but I have had enough of them to appreciate the feeling of waking up alive and well. I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Dreams about death in the Tibetan Tradition are thought of as being very positive. Meditation on death is said by the Buddha to be the best of all meditations and his own death his greatest and most important teaching. The fact that you can dream this as in your able to let your subconscious express this is a really good thing. It reminds me of Charles Dickens - Christmas Carol. The Ghost of Christmas future shows how people gossip and quarrel after we are dead and how our body will surely die. This gives us a new lease of life as we enjoy every moment we have. Meditating on going to execution by guillotine is a specific meditation on compassion where we watch ourselves going to our death and not being able to do anything about it.

So how do you actually turn all this what seems as morbid into a positive?

Well... If you keep meditating on this especially when you are in a good mood you will breakthrough and find what Milarepa the great Tibetan Yogi and Saint called the deathless unending nature of mind. He said: "In horror of death I took to the mountains and again and again I meditated on the uncertainty of the hour of death. Capturing the fortress of the deathless unending nature of mind now all fear of death is over and done."

What I am saying is enjoy chocolate cake, a kiss, a dance, walk and the simple acts of kindness, think of everyone and never give up on anyone and most importantly find your full potential.

I've heard dream music several times before. I know that the melodies can be odd, like nothing you hear in waking life, but also strangely very good most of the time. I have no musical talent whatsoever, but I feel that if a musician were to use lucid dreaming to develop melodies and tracks, they would be quite imaginative and successful.

I hope you recorded the music! If you have a voice recorder app on your phone, that's a great way to capture these little melodies.

That's a good question. I hadn't really given it a lot of thought before. I suppose it is scary for things that we normally like to suddenly be threatening. There is the betrayal factor. It makes for a good nightmare.

I was just curious because I have a similar recurring dream, though the theme being in a body of water with big waves crashing on me, drowning, and being unable to come up for air. (It is not something that, IWL scares me at all (in fact I love the water.))

What do you suppose causes these recurring nightmares of things we do not consciously find scary?

It seems to be just a dream thing. I have no problems with monkeys etc in real life. I'm not sure what causes these little dream terrors. They are usually right as I am going to sleep or waking up, so maybe there is some real sleep paralysis going on, along with that scary feeling. Not sure.

Did you have your nightmare snowpants on?

Just out of curiosity, are you afraid of chimps/monkeys/apes IWL? Or is it only a recurring nightmare in your dreams?

Thanks! I'm just coming back to life after a long dry spell. It's so nice to finally catch dream signs again.

It makes me happy to read about you coming to realize it's a dream. XD It's like I want to pat you on the back.

It's too bad you didn't get to fly with anyone! Next time.

I used to be able to run at mirrors and come flying out in some cool place--like outer space. But then they stopped working for me. I have bounced off so many mirrors now. It's nice to know the slow method works. And next time I will make sure the mirror is up against something solid, so I don't just come out on the other side.

That is the same way I push through mirrors . When I try to run through them, I usually just smack into the wall, lol. Anyway, nice dream and congrats on completing the TotM. Hopefully, I can remember to actually do one or two of them tonight.

Wow, wild wolves, huh? That's cool. I'll have to think about that when I have my next LD.
