    An Insomniac's Dream Journal

I have a pretty terrible habit of not recording my dreams. I started this as an attempt to finally get back on track with my dream recall and general interest in LDing. Let's hope it works.

    1. Day 110: Breaking the System

by , 05-31-2018 at 02:53 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Fell asleep at: 12:00 AM

      Woke up at: 7:30 AM

Dream 94: securityguard.exe has stopped working

School cafeteria; daytime, in line for lunch. I remember it perfectly, macaroni and cheese, bread, corn, and PB&J. The line was getting shorter by the second until I reached the register. The PB&J morphed into a grilled cheese, something I thought was odd but never acted on it.

Approaching the register I see not a lunch lady, but a female security guard (One that I'm familiar with). She tells me that I couldn't have the grilled cheese because I already grabbed a mac & cheese. This made no sense to me seeing as I saw three kids walk by her with both a grilled and mac & cheese.

Then she says I will only acquire both food items if I prove to her I'm a true Christian(?). She asks me a couple pretty easy questions but one ends up tripping me, "What is one famous Christian Russian philosopher?" I don't happen to know any Russian Christian philosophers myself, so I end up guessing.

      Then she breaks.

For whatever reason, her face is frozen with her mouth wide open, and speaking in tongues. Her gaze is locked straight on me as I try to get away from her. She doesn't move an inch, but she's still speaking in tongue. I end up leaving the school building with my lunch.
    2. Day 106: (Clever Title)

by , 05-27-2018 at 03:40 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
Dream 89: Not So Lethal Lava Land

The whole dream was in this faux 2D perspective. Sometimes I could see the environment in first person, and others I saw from third person. The entire dream looked like a video game. Everything was a sprite, from the foreground to the background. At the end of the dream I remember getting cornered by a bunch of purple dragon things and being eaten alive, so that's fun.

Dream 90: You Said Room Temperature, Right?

Daytime, grass covered yard in between my house and a neighbor's. I'm talking with a friend about the pink gecko I have outside my house (True story, geckos often like to clime on my windows). I told him/her that I managed to keep one as a pet, and made it a little dirt home.

When I got to its little home, I saw that it had died inside of the water. My reasoning within the dream was that it was too cold for the lizard and it died of hypothermia. Its eyes were glowing a light green.

      Dream 91: Fragment

Another school fragment. Nothing much to talk about here.

    3. Day 105: Time Skips Are Fun

by , 05-26-2018 at 04:12 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
Whoa, did not expect to be gone for 26 days (Around that anyway, I don't care). And I missed my 100th day anniversary, so that's a shame. But enough of that, let's get started.

      Dream 87: Bus

Just a fragment. I remember sitting on the window seat of a bus while looking out through the window. It was sunset, and there were two girls in the parking lot, a couple. I stared at them for a couple seconds until the taller one with the shorter hair looked at me and I looked away.

      Dream 88: Educational Hijinks

Except there are no hijinks to be found. I was just getting from one class to the other--not very interesting. This was also a pretty dull fragment.
    4. Day 46 & 47: April Fools...

by , 04-01-2018 at 10:31 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
Nothing much happened on Day 46. I fell asleep at midnight, and woke up around 9:00 o' clock. I do recall some dreamlets, so let's bump up that counter to 57.

      Day 47:

      Fell asleep at: 2:00 AM

      Woke up at: 9:30 AM

Dream 58: The Ultimate April Fool's Trick

Happy April Fools, SubC, I hope you like it.

So, the dream starts out with me in a classroom. The lights are on, though I still have trouble seeing. I have an enormous sense of presence within the dream, what with it all taking place in the first person. I lose myself in my train of thought as I'm exiting the building--something about a detective and his status.

Once I do exit the building though, a little, teeny tiny thought comes into my head. "What is so dream-like about this? What shouldn't be here?" And so I look around.

To my right I see two busses on top of each other blocking the entrance, to my left I see a guy in a clown costume wrangling a half-rhino-half-antelope thing by its leash. The Rhinocerope is tugging really hard on the leash, and the clown can barely hold on.

For some reason, THAT doesn't trigger any lucidity. I then went over to the area in front of the band hall, and I see my dad talking to about two or three people. The dream ends soon after that.

      Side-notes:

      1. I had a very apathetic feeling throughout the entire dream. Though my sense of presence that I achieved is honestly unprecedented. I hope I can get that feeling going so I can achieve a proper DILD next time.

      2. I tried using MILD before I went to bed. Repeating the phrase, "I am present in my dreams" and (I believe) "My dreams are vivid" before going to sleep.

    5. Day 35: Dud

by , 03-22-2018 at 05:36 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Day 35:

      Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM

      Woke up at: 6:30 AM

      Dream 42: Zombie Run

Daytime. School grounds. My vision is slightly impaired as the dream is noticeably more "cloudy" than the ones that came previous. Though that lies more in the fact that I had woken up and went back to sleep afterward. My mom goes inside the office building (Which is in the exact wrong location by the way) and tells me to stay outside while she holds a meeting.

I divert over to the side of the building, going straight, when something alarming catches my eye. Four guys wearing zombie makeup and carrying machine guns are standing right on top of the roof of the school. I'm a bit frazzled by this, and I'm stuck in the middle of asking why they're there and just plain wanting to get out of there.

I ask the one closest to the edge, "Hey, what's with the getup?'' And he responds, "The Zombie Run, dude. It's going to start in a few hours, we're thinking we could...give them a good scare." For some reason seeing four shady looking guys armed to the teeth with explosives doesn't immediately make me want to run away, instead I just say "Oh yeah, that thing." and we went our separate ways.

I come across two ginormous 18-wheelers behind the building. It seems an old man and his grandson are bickering about something. The grandpa in particular. As I approach him, he gets off his truck and asks me to help set up for the Zombie Run. Seeing no way out of this old man's request, I respectfully take his offer. He then hilariously scolds his grandson, telling him that this 'total stranger' was more willing to cooperate with him than his own grandson.

I would then come to realize why his grandson didn't want him around.

Later that night, he and I took a ride in his truck. The street looks vaguely similar to the one in my town. The grandpa is now completely hammered and is now taking the wheel, with a random student in the passenger seat. He is completely out of it, almost bordering on falling asleep, when I realize we're headed straight for another truck.

"Right! Go right!" I yell in his ear. He just barely woke himself up and swerved to the right, avoiding a collision with said truck.

      Dream 43: Billiards

I'm at what's "supposed" to be my house, a large wooden building that looks more like those 'things' they have at certain parks. I can't quite remember. I'm wanting to play video games on the large flatscreen TV in the living room, but my sister pulls me aside and says she wishes to watch home movies. Due to some personal reasons I won't get into, I deny it, and make up an excuse as for why I should get to play in the living room. Her request unlocked a sort of hate/sadness emotion within me, and I just wanted it to be over with.

She is getting visibly more irritated as I go on.

I say, "How about some gambling, huh? Every time you come over you just 'have' to bring a chalupa board with you do ya?"

I finally get the memo, and just decide to plug in my stuff elsewhere.
    6. Day 26 --> Day 31: One Heck of a Backlog

by , 03-17-2018 at 11:45 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
Nine whole months since I joined this forum and I'm still a terrible procrastinator. Now you see why my User Title is the "Master Procrastinator?" So, to all future dream journal bingers out there, PLEASE don't miss more than three days of consecutive dream journalling. It really does do a number on your recall and motivation in general.

      Day 26:

      Fell asleep at: 2:30 AM

      Woke up at: 9:15 AM

      Dream 26: Pizza House Party

Going over to the counter (Which has been removed in real life but not in the dream), I pick up four slices of pizza. They have a store-bought cardboard tray, but the pizza itself is restaurant-tier. I go back to the couch along with my dad, and it seems like the couches and coffee table are arranged correctly. I didn't make the connection between the two (The counter being in the wrong place but the furniture in the correct order), which no doubt would've made a solid LD.

I'm not quite satisfied yet. I decide to go get some of the last pizza before everybody else does. Now there's even more pizza on the counter. Everybody else goes to get some more pizza, and I end up only getting about two slices. I think to myself, "Well, I already ate four slices, so..." and just accept it.

I briefly chow down on my second helping. I go over to throw my plate away when I bump into a little white machine with a GPS monitor on it, which is situated in front of my mom's room. My dad tells me to be careful. Guy's got foot problems, and I figured whatever it was, he didn't want me touching. I walk away from it so that I wouldn't be held responsible for it.

      Day 27:

      Fell asleep at: 1:00 AM

      Woke up at: 8:00 AM

Dream 27: Jostled by the Mob

Exiting out of the hallways, I make my way into a little outdoor area within my school. An influx of students exit from all sides, all 600+ of them. All of us are headed straight for the staircase outside of the band hall.

Once we get there, I begin to get jostled by a whole bunch of M's friends. I even see the girl who looks an awful lot like my friend's sister, who's the only face I can remember. We all sit down on the stairs that somehow stretch all the way across the building. Some guy is singing an overly emotional song about...something I can't quite remember.

He starts picking out people from the audience to sing along, meanwhile I bust out a calculator that can somehow run GBA-era Pokemon games. Nice. The guy next to me sees what I'm doing, and motions the singer to point at me. He then stares at me playing Pokemon on my calculator and stares at it instead. He then pulls out a calculator and I begin to tink he wants to know how I got it done. Jokes on him, I ain't telling.

      Day 28:

      Fell asleep at: 4:00 AM

      Woke up at: 11:00 AM

      Dream 28: Uh...Pups?

A short one. I dreamt that Nemo and Cleo took the forms of two overly large bugs, both yellow in color. I still tried to put them in their cage though.

      Dream 29: HANDS OFF, MAN.

I'm in an unknown house. My brother is lying on the floor, minding his own business. The both of us are talking about joining a club or something when he does the unthinkable. The guy gets up, walks over to me, and crushes my babymaker something fierce. You can tell how much I wanted to kill my DC brother after that...

      Dream 30: AGAIN?!

I was on the couch, just barely waking up from a dream. My dad and my brother are pacing around the couch, wondering who's gonna take out the pups. My dad elects my brother, who then elects me. I have this stupid half-smiling, half asleep look on my face, trying to convince them that I'm still asleep. I pull out my phone, confident that they'd be none of the wiser. Then my brother kicks me hard, again, in the one bone that matters. You can tell how much I REALLY wanted to kill him after that... Thankfully it was just a dream, so no harm done.

      Day 29 & 30:

      Fell asleep at: 1:00 AM

      Woke up at: 9:00 AM

      Dreams 31 & 32: Nothing

      Fragments again.

      Day 31:

      Fell asleep at: 4:00 AM

      Woke up at: 1:00 AM

Dream 33: The Rich Get Asylum

Another narration dream, this time starring the voice of DiGi Valentine. In a corrupt, poverty-stricken city, the ones raking in the dome are the owners of an insane asylum. Extortion, money laundering, and exploitation are their main methods of making money.

      Dream 34: T'was A Mirage

I look at the TV, astounded by the fact. My 5-6 year old copy of Super Mario Galaxy 2, scratched to hell and back, is finally functional! Everything is just how I remember it. I grab the controller, but I don't like how loud it is. I lower the volume on my TV using the buttons installed on the TV itself, and then immediately, the game crashes. And then I crash, emotionally. I hate this.

      Dream 35: Shirtless and Witless

I start off in a computer lab, the room darkened accompanied with the busying sound of keyboards clacking. The dismissal bell signals the end of the school day. I get up and go through the hallway to the school parking lot. But then I realize something, both my pants and my shirt are missing, leaving me with semi-translucent red underwear.

It was bitterly cold, and I rushed back to class, using my backpack to cover up my half-naked self. Unfortunately for me, the teacher was still in the class. I went to my desk and grabbed my shirt and pants and put them on before she noticed. I waved a polite goodbye and left in relief.
    7. Day 22, 23, and 24: Nothing, Then A Nightmare

by , 03-10-2018 at 02:52 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Day 22, 23, and 24:

      Fell asleep at: 11:30

      Woke up at: 7:00

      Dream 22, 23, and 24:

All of them were not really dreams in the slightest. Just random images.

      Day 25:

      Fell asleep at: 11:30

      Woke up at: 7:30

Dream 25: I Now Know My Greatest Fear

Walking around the band hall, it seems people are preparing for the parade that's going on today. Pfft, losers. THIS GUY doesn't need to go...

But I should learn to keep my big mouth shut...

I find my way to Band Hall #3, where the uniforms for the percussionists are being stored. Mocking them, I told them "Good luck with the parade, and don't get horse crap on your shoes."

Walking outside the room, I notice something a bit peculiar...

My right foot has now been TWISTED inward. You know that thing that happens when you get a cramp and your toes forcefully move themselves in either direction? Well that was me. But with my whole foot.

I have to get to an ambulance.

I hobble on one foot, desperately clutching the other as I try to make my way towards my mom's car. My reading teacher acknowledges my situation, but stoppes making fun of me when she sees me collapse on the floor.

Now my entire JAWLINE is forcefully pushed to the left. I can't speak, can't move, and now I can't even see--as my vision quickly turns tunnel. For ten whole seconds I am in the worst, most painful, most powerless state I have ever been in.

      And then the dream ended
      .

    8. Day 18 and 19: Vivid Burst

by , 03-03-2018 at 04:55 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Day 18:

      Fell asleep at: 10:30 PM

      Woke up at: 6:40 AM

      Dream 14: For Dear Life

I remember exiting out of my grandma's neighborhood during the dead of night. My brother and brother-in-law and I are sitting in the backseat of an oversized truck, which my sister is driving.

None of us are wearing our seatbelts, nor did I find any around. I'm clinging onto my seat as my sister swerves around town. The seat is straight metal, so even trying to maintain a grip is impossible. We stopped by a water fountain as a red light mercifully saved me from falling off the car.

      Dream 15: Expected Laziness

I'm in an unidentifiable interior setting. It resembles a library, combined with some sort of coffee shop. It seems some people from school are preparing for a race.

All of them are getting into position, and I manage to sneak my way past them and into another room. Two people I know are there, N.Rio and Mike. Both of them are sitting on a black couch in front of a window. Looking out the window, there was another white cuboidal building off in the distance.

N.Rio and Mike are both on their phones. And since mine was (And still is) broken, I just stared at what they were watching. I remember coming across as awkward and nosy, but beyond that there wasn't much else.

Dream 16: Rolling Chairs are Awesome

Now it's lunchtime. Talking to some DCs, I bring up the undeniable fact that rolling chairs are the best thing one could ask for. To demonstrate my point, I tell them I can get from place to place without even getting out of my chair. My destination? The other side of the cafeteria.

Rolling around at the speed of sound, I race my way past the cluttered cafeteria and to a table where the lunch ladies are sitting, across from where I was at. I hand them my chair, pretending that there's something wrong with it, and I ask them if I can go to the restroom. I guess I thought it was weird that I'd show up there for no reason and head back, so I improvised a reason for doing so when I got there.

      Day 19:

      Fell asleep at: 4:00 AM

      Woke up at: 7:30 AM

      Dream 17: Dang it...

I remember having a really vivid dream today, but my two puppies woke me up so I forgot all about it. They bark when they're hungry, thirsty, angry, happy, jealous, or when they feel anything at all.
    9. Day 13: Rowdy

by , 02-25-2018 at 04:04 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Fell asleep at: 12:00 AM

      Woke up at: 8:30 AM

      Dream 08: Hello Mr. Pianta

Touring Bianco Village from Super Mario Sunshine. It looks like the place has also gotten its fair share of gangsters, since there's a lot of graffiti plastered on the walls. Funnily enough, like the actual game, this 'graffiti' is largely just arrows, telling the player where to go.

I'm monologuing to myself about imagery in regards to poetry. I think about how there are only so many ways to describe the color black, but a million ways to describe color. Pretty thoughtful stuff.

Dream 09: Almost Breaking Double Digits

I'm at school this time, again, though now I'm outside the band hall and talking to my friends. One of my friends is talking about something I can't quite hear, when they call all of the band students in.

I'm guessing we have a performance, and so everyone was going inside to grab their uniforms. Then something screwy happens...

As I'm climbing up the stairs, I can feel the steps getting higher and higher. I'm using all of the upper body strength I can muster to get up there, making a complete full of myself since I don't really have any upper body strength. That and my pants were falling down. The people are waiting behind me, as if taking pity or looking at me fail to climb these stairs.

Eventually I find my way inside.

Inside the band hall, people are grabbing their instruments and putting on their uniforms. One of the band directors is talking to a student about the weird, red, plastic thing she has on a stool. He said it looked like a fruit, but I thought it was...

      Moving on.

Across the hall, two girls and one guy, one of the girls' boyfriends, are playing football. Right outside of the uniform room. The girlfriend licks the football for whatever reason, and throws it back at the guy.

Inside the uniform room, there's this big, fancy chair. There's also a TV right in front of it. Me and one of my friends are arguing about who gets to sit in it first. I win, of course, and then the dream ended.

    10. Day 11 and 12: Oh Boy

by , 02-24-2018 at 03:04 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Day 11:

      Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM

      Woke up at: 6:35 AM

      Dream 05:

      Nothing here.

      Day 12:

      Fell asleep at: 12:00 AM

      Woke up at: 7:30 AM

      Dream 06: Ugh...

Walking the hallways at school. It's midday, and slightly blue tinted light streams into the halls. I'm walking the hallway that goes past the cafeteria and into another set of double doors.

On my way over there, I spot three students, one girl and three boys, sitting on benches apart from each other.

This is where the "Ugh..." part comes in.

I approach one of the guys sitting on the bench, as he reaches for his, uh, babymaker. I smack his shoulder, whispering to him, "Dude. No. What the hell?"

The girl sitting on the bench in front of us has a disgusted, concerned look on her face. I begin to blush, my ears heat up, and I get off the bench.

      Dream 07: Ulysses S. Crybaby

Nothing to do with the Ulysses S. Grant of history, by the way.

It seems like I'm playing FO4, but for some reason, Ulysses from NV is talking to the player character. I'm exploring a municipal tunnel running underground, there's red and blue pipes everywhere. Pretty typical stuff. There's a new enemy in the caves, a Rad Monkey.

Ulysses says, "KILL THE MONKEYYYYYY." In his droning, raspy voice. I find myself inside a tiny little room. And as Ulysses is talking to me, "It's All Over But The Crying" starts playing. It was hilarious in the dream, trust me.
    11. Day Seven and Eight: Ready for a Comeback

by , 02-21-2018 at 01:45 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
Sorry for the late upload, the WiFi was cut because my parents didn't pay it in time. Thank goodness it didn't go on longer than it did.

      Day Seven:

      Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM

      Woke up at: 6:40 AM

Dream 04: If Marvel Made Overwatch(?)

The dream takes place in the first person camera perspective, much like a movie. The subject matter was, of course, Overwatch.

I think I was playing a story mode of sorts, with (Oddly enough) live acted cutscenes alongside the more stylized Overwatch gameplay. I remember playing as Soldier: 76, shooting a big ol' Roadhog as we both try to get to a closed room.

It then switched to a cutscene where 76 says he will "Open the gates to the outside world, and there's no coming back", conversing to (Of freaking course) Teddy Cruise as two guys try holding him back.

Teddy is struggling to get out of their control, but the gates open anyway, and a bright light floods the room.

It then switched to an interview segment with Teddy Cruise remarking about how the light was so bright, he might actually be partially blind in his right eye. Guess the directors at Blizzard or something must've really hated him.

      Day Eight: Nap

      Fell asleep at: 4:30 PM

      Woke up at: 9:30 PM

      Dream 05: Tension Brewing

Talk about day residue. Yesterday, my English class was talking about the 16th Street Baptist Church Bombing, going over an article and a poem about the event. It got real heated, real quick, and I think it's safe to say all of that transferred over to this dream.

I'm in a classroom, just doing my work, then I come to realize the teacher is literally not without a racist bone in his body. The kids aren't making things any better, as they too just reciprocate everything he says, jokingly or otherwise. It's just a hostile environment overall.

Dream 06: Pointers from the Subconscious

I dreamt I was designing one of my characters, a time travelling 80s video game protagonist stereotype named John Jones. In the dream, he's wearing an umpire's outfit, complete with a baseball base as a shield and a baseball bat as a sword expy.

      Dream 07: Perspective

I'm at school, again, but this time I'm walking inside the hallways. On my way to the 'I Wing', one of my old friends, D, walks up to me and says hi. We exchange words, catch up with each other for a bit, and go our separate ways. We never really talked that much in the waking world, so I wondered why she was one of my designated 'dream friends' for this one. Hmm...

But there's no time to ponder that fact, as I am now inside my World History teacher's body, personality, everything. In the hallways, I'm trying to calm down two 6ft tall students from beating each other up or something. It was so weird having someone else's thought patterns in mine, but probably something I want to put a pin on later.

      Day Eight: Night

      Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM

      Woke up at: 6:40 AM

      Dream 08: Alpuppies

Back at my house, I exit out of my Mom's room to find that my dogs are fully grown...And fully terrifying. My two puppies (Nemo and Kleo) now resemble llamas than, y'know, dogs.

I take them to go pee outside, where they poop, pee, and spit all over the place. The dream ends soon after.

Dream 01: A New Member in the Family

I'm wandering around my house when I spot a pug-like dog on top of some towels. I go and tell my mom about it, asking if I could keep him (Or her). She said yes, but that she won't be responsible for what Dad does. She also said to call her when I'm in Mr. F's class.

He didn't like it when I brought those two stray puppies into the house, and we already have one other dog, so I kind of dreaded what would happen if Dad found out.

I put the puppy on the floor to to lay with the other pups. My puppies are quite the wily bunch however, so I pick the pug back up.

      Dream 02: Gray Concrete

I find myself in, of course, a gray, concrete building. A couple of the unreputable students from my school are there. I go to a cafeteria where there's a soda fountain on top of the counter. It's at this point I start thinking about light-speed travel and transport myself to the "Thinkspace".

Because that's just the kind of think I think about when I'm bored. Maybe I watch too much Vsauce...

The Thinkspace is a thing I made up. It's basically what happens when the dream version of me starts imagining things in his mind, separating him from the dream for a little bit.

Bizarrely enough, it isn't a Vsauce video that plays in the Thinkspace, but an Oxhorn video. He talks about light-speed travel and shows a visual of a woman sleeping in a raft with her lower body being a castle wall. She may not be a "brick house", but she certainly is a castle wall.

      Dream 03: Raider Troubles

Now I'm traversing a Raider infested parking garage with my sister, K. I manage to trick the Raiders into a linear platforming course (Think Donkey Kong Country) on the grounds of:

"They're not platformer characters, K. They won't make it past the first jump and certainly not the first run jump. Nobody holds onto the run button..." And I take my leave.

I go through a set of double doors and find myself in a school courtyard. I am by my lonesome, following a couple when I split up with them to join up with my friend, J2, a percussionist, who is sitting on a really tall chair.

I awkwardly say to him, "J2, let me...ascend..." As I shuffle my way up that stupidly tall chair.

      Dream 04: Oh Shit, I--

I'm now in my history teacher's class, Mr. F. I remember that Mom told me to call her a bit too late, as class just ended and I'm too scared to pick up the phone.

A day later (In the dream, not real life) passes and I wake up on the couch. It must've been a Saturday, since I had no school.

My brother (J) tells me to get ready, since my mom wants to go take us surfing. Now, I am neither good at nor interested in surfing, so I groan to the top of my lungs to get the message across.

I tell my mom I feel sick and can't go surfing, and she gets noticably angry. She's in the restroom, by the way. With the door closed. And as soon as I reach out to grab my phone, she tells me to go to bed.

      Then she snaps.

In a distorted, banshee-like voice, she tells me, "Why didn't you text me when you were in Mr. F's class yesterday, huh?!"

This woke me up. No joke, I woke up with an enveloping sense of both dread and shock because of this.
    13. Huh...

      Dream:
I think I'm in a warped, dreamlike version of my school, fused with one of the houses from the colonias near my town. It's all the usual dream stuff, just me walking around, minding my own business...

When the DC of my dead cousin shows up. And I am speechless.

Now, I'm not gonna sugarcoat things. Even though this was an experience personal to me, I felt like it was worthy enough to be talked about. It's nothing too graphic or too sad, so stick with me.

He's wearing a greasy looking pinstriped suit, a faded black with light gray lines. He looks unkempt, as was his style I guess. He was always the "cool" one, and often put his appearance first before anything (The man owned a leather jacket for Pete's sake).

Immediately I start choking up. He's on the other side of a chainlink fence but manages to jump over it because he could. I think he was talking about something, but I was too preoccupied dealing with my own anxieties.

"This is the one person I hate so much...How could he do this to us? Why does he still look so cool? How is this possible? The one person I try so hard not to emulate shows up in my dream, without MY permission? Typical. But...there are so many questions..."

He walks around for a bit; around a twisting, almost rotten tree, and peers into a window. Excited children flood the window, and he smiles back. I get even more temperamental.

He parkours his way up a wall, onto the roof, totally in line with his character. I think to myself:

"What do I talk to him about? How different are we? Why the hell did you do that to us? Will I ever see you again? Can you get the heck away from me?" My fist clenches trying to hold it in, and I choke up once more, on the verge of tears.

But I don't have any time to think.

The children whom he had met burst out through the door, and he jumps back down to meet them. I trail them all back inside through a red door to my right.

They're all laughing, having a good time, but I demanded an answer from him (Well, not really but you get the point) and still he had nothing left to say. The children have also done some excellent drawings and sketches on notebook paper, and I admire just how detailed it looks.

But I clearly have had enough. I stormed out of the room and went to contemplate this situation elsewhere.

I wind up in a big city. A parade seems to be going on in town as kids throw humongously large rubber dodgeballs at each other, cars pour in from every corner, and confetti rains down from above.

I don't take part in the festivities, I'm too shaken to even think. In the real world, that would've been the death of me. I walk callously across each gathering of students and even snake my way through busy traffic.

I come across a chainlink fence and think I should climb it, but thoughts of my deceased cousin crossed my mind, and I move onto something else.

And that's when the dream ended.

    14. Haven't Had This One Since I Was 12... & Don't Burn Your Bridges Behind You

      Dream 01:
I remember being in a white and sterile environment, much like an empty doctor's office or some high-tech research facility. I think in the dream I was fighting some monster, a theme that hadn't been present since I was, well, 12 years old. I seemed to have god powers in the dream as well, and the fight is heavily one-sided. I feel a sense of deep empowerment and relief as I slice up the enemy Kingdom Hearts II style, and finishing it off by slicing it with light powers.

And that is the end of it.

      Dream 02:
I'm in high school again as I spot my old friend, Ace. It's an awkward introduction at first, since I kind of, let's say, burned a few bridges with her that I'm not proud of. A wave of embarrassment runs down my face, stress sweat, blushing, heating up, you get the idea.

In the dream she has completely black hair for some reason, and she is wearing a faded dark-grey jacket. She always seems to dye her hair (Even when I knew her way back when) so I didn't really catch on and do a reality check. Anyway, I start talking to her. She's still her usual chipper and weird self, and she kind of doesn't really care that I had burned bridges with her. Though her proportions have changed (AKA her butt was bigger for some reason).

I begin to wonder "Why am I still so worked up about it after all these years?" but brush that aside to continue having a conversation with her. We were at the cafeteria, but for some odd reason the lunch ladies and food aren't there. They always seemed to have a habit of setting up after the students got there anyhow.

      NOTES:

      1. The whole theme of fighting god monsters and reuniting with old friends is quite weird all things considered. These are all things that have never happened to me in recent years, due in part to me having wanted to forget about them. Maybe my subconsciousness is trying to tell me something here.

      2. This is the 5th dream in a row where I was in some kind of foreign or fantastical environment. Being in my room used to be one of my biggest reality checks and now I'm barely even inside my house in dreams anymore. Perhaps I'm getting slightly more detached from reality? Could be.
    15. Annoying Classmates

      Dream:

I'm in my Chemistry class. My teacher is sitting at his computer, you'll find out what that entails in a second.

My old friend-turned-acquaintance JJ is sitting to my right, incessantly complaining about....something. He's alsonot doing the assignment at hand, instead making one of those paper fortune-telling things. He directs his ire over to the teacher and doesn't. Shut. UP.

I HAVE to tell him something.

I tell him something along the lines of "Dude, shut the hell up. That's the FIFTH fucking time you said that. Be quiet, show some respect, and do your freaking work." Oddly enough, the class doesn't respond, but he sure does. He says something like, "How can I respect a teacher that can't freaking teach? Playin' games n' shit, damn..." See, in real life, my Chemistry teacher is, well, kind of a shy, bumbling newbie. During the course of his time at the school, everybody's been giving him crap. This carried over quite spectacularly into the dream.

Anyway, this sent me over the edge, but I know better than to act on emotion or instinct. I tell him, "It doesn't matter. He's the teacher, you're the student, so let him teach."

And just after I say that, my brother walks inside the classroom and hands me some car keys. I don't know exactly why he did this, and the dream ended shortly after that, but that wasn't what was important.

      NOTES:

      1. The same thing happened today during class. My classmates were actively taunting the teacher, one of them got especially unreasonable, and I told her off. No, I didn't cuss to such an extent as here. God, they're annoying.... Er, sorry, rant mode.

      2. I think this is one of the few times I ever completely acted like myself in the dream. To be honest, this dream was kind of therapeutic. I don't even know if I was lucid or not, it was that accurate.
