    1. Video Games

by , 01-31-2017 at 10:19 PM (Cities in the Astral)
The last two nights of the competition I became aware of my mind playing video games. I did not have a dream body, but was watching the screen from a video game I had been playing IRL. I was able to control what happened just like I was playing the game. Very fun.

    2. [31-01-2017: Monsters & rooster, Working abroad, Dark magic, DILD]

      by , 01-31-2017 at 09:47 PM (Snehk's Dreamlands)
      Monsters

I saw a biome border between temperate grasslands and barren wastelands. I saw a huge hill forming a slope coming up to the height of sun as seen on the sky. People in that area wer living in cavern-houses and modest outside cottages. There were horrible monsters roaming the area, leopard-like predators made of bone and rocks with some fleshy bits in between and more creatures mentioned by people. I walked up the slope and then slid down to a huge valley and started escaping. The monsters were chasing me, I only had my bare hands to defend. I ran up to some volcanic rift, and decided to run back to safety of grasslands. I reached it and then place changed. It was a cold, early spring dawn. I went from behind my barn towards house, trying to avoid angry dogs on the way, and then suddenly turned to chicken pens. I reminded myself that I had to do something there before coming back home. I opened a gate, but one of roosters tried to escape the pen. I managed to stop it, saying "Don't leave the pens rooster, there are dogs out there that might eat you!"

      Working abroad

I was sitting in my living room with some random people and my family. There was an old, bald man with a moustache that seemed familiar, his wife was as old he was, she was a redhea. There also were my two sisters and parents. I spoke with the man about some work we have to do and I started preparing, taking on layers of clothes and high shoes. It was something to do abroad. With younger sister we prepared and left the house. It was a warm morning, we sat on a wagon and set off after a while. Only then my sister told me that we're going to a working camp to become slaves, but everything was prepared so that we can get out of this. Just before the wagon left my possession, police appeared and stopped it, then arrested the old man and his wife.

      Dark magic

With siblings and parents we drove to my aunt's house and entered it. The place was a strange amalgamate of my and their house. We went towards living room where TV was turned on. It was some new technology that made the TV project everything as a hologramme in the room. I saw some city with skyscrapers and thought "Godzilla?" Then something strange started to happen, hologrammes of the Godzilla and numerous mummies appeared. They were black with white outlines. The mummies hurled black orbs that on impact sent shrapnells at us and made more of them spawn. I recall that with my mind and by throwing one orb back, I beaten those mummies. Godzilla just stood there in the background, between skyscrapers. Suddenly everything turned to grayscale with blackness in the background. Strange undead or demon alike figures started to fight between themselves so they'd get a better view of me. They could've been waving to me too.

      DILDs

I woke up in my bed, though my house again was a mix of my and my aunt's house. I left it and went towards bathroom. The light switches weren't working, I tried turning the lights on several times to no avail. I left the bathroom. Then I made nose plug RC as lights seemed unusuall and became lucid. I turned back and entered the bathroom. This time it was different, with rock-alike tiles in shades of brown, there was a huge bathtube in the middle of the room, with a tall mirror on the wall. The mirror reflected everything up from my stomach. I looked much younger, uglier and had shorter hair, I was wearing a camoe t-shirt. I recalled my current lucid goals - transformations and shape shifting. I took a towel that was hanging on nearby wall and obscured the mirror, then thought about changing. First I wanted to try changing into opposite gender. I used towel to obscure and reveal the mirror, changing parts of my body this way. I became naked after a first try. Suddenly I found myself outside the toilet, non-lucid. I repeated RC and became lucid again. I went back to bathroom and continued changing. Each time as I changed, my facial features were feminine and different from previous. Only thing that was in common with each of them was that my hair were black and eyes had darker shade of blue with mixture of brown. After a while changes weren't instant and I had to hold the towel in front of mirror for a while. Suddenly when I revealled the mirror, it summoned the reflection. A woman with dark hair and eyes and somewhat pleasant body was standing beside me. Curiously, only her reflected in the mirror. She looked at me, smiling. I touched her to shift into her body, and then she disappeared. I changed my head a few more times until I was good with the change, then started changing the torso. It was quite quick to get a female body. Suddenly someone approached me from behind, pointing a gun at my back. It was a blonde man in a black suit. He shot several times, but I ignored him and the shots. He disappeared after a while, his bullets not even touching my body. Then I started shifting lower parts of my body, this was the hardest as the mirror didn't reached it (and I haven't thought about enlargening it), and feeling coming with it were quite intense (more in a turn-on way though). I was trying to hold on and managed to stay in the dream. The lucidity faded away though and I stood there non-lucid. After a short while I woke up.

I RC and I'm realise I'm dreaming! I attempt to fly to my solar system, but the sky is the limit. :bangshead: The sky says in clouds "SMYM" It stands for "show me your moves" but I only picked up on that when I awoke. I then had a bit of a lucid nightmare in a maze, but I woke up in time.

    5. Lucid Dream#3: 1/15/2017 (DILD)

      by , 01-31-2017 at 03:59 PM
I am playing a game behind a big glass window, almost like a virtual old-fashioned pinball game, which started out with me playing it on my iPad, but then quickly morphed into a full-size attraction. It has huge flippers protruding through the glass to propel the ball. I walk outside the glass structure and notice I am naked (bingo dream sign). I do an RC and check my hands: they are deformed. I then look over to see a DC walking towards me, in the parking lot of where that glass pinball game was. It looks like an elven creature from one J.R. Tolkien's LOTR stories. It's very gangly, with big ears and a mouse-like face. Its big, intense eyes peer straight ahead, fixated on something in the far distance as it shambles forward. The mythological-looking creature never looks at me. I try to greet it. It doesn't talk to me.

As he walks past me, my subconscious informs me that this DC is, in fact, me. That this is how I look when I dream; this is the form and the image I take on. I marvel at this, wondering why my subconscious has projected me as in such a alien, non-human way. I figure I'll have a lot of introspective, self-analysis to do come morning. I try to address the creature and tell him that this is a dream. Again, no response; it is as though he is deaf. I think I even try call him by my own name, Paul, but to no avail. This lucid dream is very low-quality and blurry. There is a dirty, ubiquitous fog which permeates the dreamscape.

I follow the creature as he shambles into the building I just came from. The glass window is gone, the gigantic pinball machine which was behind it is gone. The interior now looks like someone's dingy apartment. It reminds me of the inside of a dank mobile home which hasn't been remodeled since 1979. The carpet is dark brown shag, and the kitchen is grotesquely in need of an upgrade. The walls are made of a type flimsy faux-wood paneling which was popular back in the 1970's. There are old, dirty plates and bowls piled up on the countertops. The strange caricature of me goes into the kitchen. I stay in the family room with the brown shag carpet. I walk around in circles, looking down at the carpet.

Because of the foggy, sluggish ambiance of the dream, I am unmotivated to do anything, and I and am reluctant to go anywhere without my dream-double (even though he seems oblivious to my presence). I peer pack into the kitchen and there he is, standing by the sink and eating something from a dish. He still hasn't said a word or looked at me. I decide to commit myself to staying here in this ramshackle abode with him. To make the most of my time, I practice dream stabilization and increasing vividness by rubbing my hands together and focusing on details in the room. I inspect a fire extinguisher hanging on the wall; I scrutinize the individual strands of brown shag in the carpet and I focus intently again on my hands. Every time I look at them they shapeshift. The final time I inspected them, they were black with outline of my fingers glowing with a green and red neon charge. There is a light switch on the wall. It worked (proving yet again that this type of RC can be unreliable).

    6. Unknown Spirits

by , 01-31-2017 at 03:55 PM (The Dream Magic Experiment)
I was in a village of some sort. I went inside the ruins of a nearby castle. I think I exploded something by accident.

The residents "woke up." They're something like spirits but can manifest into physical matter. They have different abilities and talents. They're definitely human-like. The rest are starting to get hazy, but one in particular looks like a count. He's calmer than the rest but I could also feel his power. I think I had an ability to "pause" or push them away but the count is largely unaffected. Instead, he proceeded with a calm and confident presence towards me. They were also kind of floating which made them seem like ghost, but not exactly.

It took a while for me to get familiar with their presence. They became a part of me, sort of. Not possession. Kinda parasitic except they don't get anything from me; they were simply attached to me because I woke them up. They're capable of independent actions and have their own sets of skills and their own personalities.

A lot of things happened but I forgot most of it when I woke up. What I do remember is me comparing them to "functions" and parallel programming.

    8. 1/31/17-Goal-Bring Waking Memories to Dream, Tina's Eye, Naked Man on Table

      by , 01-31-2017 at 11:48 AM
      1. My intention going to sleep was to find out if I remember things from waking life in my dreams. I am walking in to work and put my purse in the cabinet and notice my monitor on the left is on and the right is not. (Yesterday and Friday I put up the photo from Astronomy Domine's that has the palms up with the mantra in the center saying "When I am dreaming, I am aware that I am dreaming" I look at it occasionally throughout the day but purposely put it up only on the left screen). In this dream the photo is up but instead of dreaming it says sleeping in both spots. I looked again and thought to myself, is this the way it is supposed to work? I was surprised I noticed the difference, it was so subtle. My mind likes to tease me. Then I remembered my goal and sat in my chair and decided to think about numbers from waking life (yes lucid). I easily thought of birth dates, my social, my phone number and husbands and realized that yes it is just the same as being awake. Then my black screen on computer made a clicking noise, and I looked at it as white numbers were appearing. It was so cool. This was my memory haha. The numbers were coming across was the combination to my safe, my old telephone number when I was in high school, my husbands social security number, pins, passwords, they started coming faster as I read what they were out loud. This was like a memory test and they were scrolling down like a game, I had to get it before it fell off the bottom of the screen. So cool it went faster and faster. The strange thing is I don't remember many of those numbers in waking life. Needless to say I was excited. Probably doesn't sound exciting but I couldn't go back to sleep. I woke up and it was 12:34.

      2. Trying hard to get back to sleep and I had two strange HHs. One was a woman with dark brown shoulder length hair sitting on the other side of the isle next to me like in a plane, she was rambling on and on about her Tina and how she lost her eye because of a neighbor boy and his throwing a stick at her eye. She is doing so well and her glass eye makes her look almost normal. Oh my

      3. I am in a Dr.'s office and I see and totally naked elderly heavy set man laying face down on the table with his legs spread just enough hmmm, not a good last image before jumping out of bed to go to work but still on adrenaline rush from reaching my personal goal.

I remembered one dream fragment last night. YAY

I was walking towards an office building, and a little jingle was playing in the air. I'm not sure where it was coming from.

And despite around 7-7.5 solid hours of sleep, that's all I remember. Oh well.

At last after three nights of remembering nothing I have remembered some dream fragments!!

      1) I was on a beach, I remember walking down a path towards the beach over the sand. Then I remember being stood near the beach looking at a fence and hedgrows and thinking this was a classic English beach scene. Next I was looking at a beach hut, someone was in part of it talking to an estate agent about buying a beach hut.

      2) I was in an old lady's house I had to strip all the wiring from the wall going to the TV and phone so it could be replaced. I remember removing a few specific bits of wiring and eventually being able to remove the phone. My dead father in law was there advising me as to which wire to remove, he said he was having some difficulty cutting one wire but I manged to do it. I was then outside leading the old lady back into her house, I almost went into the wrong door.

      3) I parked my car near some doors it needed a jump start. I was going to break into someone's house to connect to there electricity but decided against it.

      4) Vague memory of another dream, nothing specific though.

    11. Tokens (and Coins)

      by , 01-31-2017 at 07:31 AM
Morning of January 31, 2017. Tuesday.

I am comfortably seated at what seems to be the counter of a dimly lit bar. There is not much setting detail and I am not aware of any other people but the bartender. I am mostly only aware of the view in front of me and somewhat to the right. The bartender is unfamiliar. He is a male of casual dress in perhaps his late forties and remains standing behind the counter at all times.

I have coins and tokens in each hand, probably only a few in my left hand; at least a dozen or more in my right hand. I eventually look at them and see that most of the coins and tokens are different. The coins are all possibly from other countries. I am aware that they are probably not worth much, but I enjoy collecting them. One of the tokens, with a solid form, appears to be for a national park. It has a design on it that shows shrubbery and a forest area with a lake in the background.

It seems that I can attain more coins and tokens by gambling. (I seem to “remember” this without any other details.) I hand the bartender two similar coins. I am not sure if he is going to use one at a time, or both at the same time. He seems to hesitate near some sort of small device on the wall. It is almost as if I am exercising some sort of subtle mental will regarding his decision. He eventually places two coins in the device. Several coins and tokens flow out at the bottom as if automatically (with no other action; for example, no slots or seeming gambling feature or functions as such). He hands them to me without emotion or comment. I am glad to have a few more coins and tokens, some of which are different than the others I have, even though I again reflect that they are not that valuable other than as a collectible interest.

    13. Stuck in another Dimension

by , 01-31-2017 at 06:30 AM (One Up Seeker)
Just a heads up, this dream literally felt somewhere between 1 day and 1 week long. When I awoke from it I was late for class so I couldn't recall all of it perfectly, but I knew for sure it was at least 1 day long. I'm not going to type all of it because so much happened, and it would take forever, but this is the summed up version.

      1. I was somewhere walking in a stretch of grass on the side of a massive freeway. My mom, dad, and sister were walking in front of me. The sun was shining bright and the sky was clear. Suddenly my father turned around to talk to me, "It's your sister's first birthday son" he told me. "What in the fucking hell" I thought to myself. In my fathers arms was my sister, who now no longer looked 15 at all. She didn't look 1 year old, but rather she looked around 4 or 5 years old. Still, I was at a loss of words. "This can't be real" I told myself, but somehow, something inside of me simply KNEW that it was. I proceed to become extremely freaked out as I look around and enforce the fact that I knew that this was all real. My critical thinking skills were extremely high at this point. but I didn't become lucid.
My attention is weakened by the fact that half of the sky is now near pitch black. "There's a heavy storm coming in, we need to get back now!" my father yells. With that we all start running back from where we came. The clouds were approaching us extremely fast and definitely seemed to be going faster than us. A minute or so later the sky is covered in pitch black clouds and it looks like nighttime. It didn't rain though, contrary to my expectation. We continued running and minutes later turned the corner where we went inside of some building. The inside of this building heavily resembled the stock market building in NYC, but the color theme was different. People were everywhere, some were working, some were just socializing. I noticed that there were other families here as well, and they all looked rather concerned.
At this point I sit down somewhere, and my sister follows. As she sits next to me I regain deep thought about what is going on. "This has really happened. I'm somehow stuck in another dimension with no idea of how I've got here" I think to myself. A feeling of intense fright overcomes me and I begin to cry, harder than I ever have before. I feel so lost, with no idea of what to do. I exchange conversation with my sister after I calm down, and am surprised by her cognitive ability for her age. We had no problem holding a solid conversation, although I have forgotten what we talked about. It then hits me, my mother and father were acting way different from usual. Their personality far less energetic, and they seemed as though they were not happy with their life at all. This stressed me out even more.
I take my sister with me and leave the building. It is still dark outside. I walk around another corner and come to a dark two-story house. As I walk inside I recognize my boss. "Bryan, what are you doing here?" I asked. "We're having a get together party for all Walmart employees" he tells me. I see it in him too, he's acting way different. He just isn't acting like himself at all, and his personality mirrors that of my parents. I see many of my coworkers in the living room of this house. One of them notifies everyone that it is time for the toast. She begins talking and telling of how she's loved walmart so much. Other coworkers share their love for walmart, and I soon grow frightened once more. Everyone here is acting the same. It's as if everyone is extremely bored and unhappy with their lives. The energy in the room is dead and happiness and positivity are completely absent.
I take my sister and go outside in an attempt to regain my calmness and sanity. Everything is wrong. Everyone is acting different and mundane. Fast forward and I am now inside of a restaurant with my mother, father, sister, and all of my close friends. As we had all walked in, we tell the waiter we need a table for 8. She leads us to a table for 8 and we all sit down. My friends are all acting like they normally do, however, they sit at a different table than the one we were assigned too. I am now sitting at an 8 person table with just my family, and all of my close friends are sitting at another 8 person table directly in front of us. "Yo, what are you guys doing? Why aren't you sitting over here?" I ask them. "Dude relax it's not a big deal" my best friend Dylan says. All of my close friends then re-engage in conversation with each other, excluding me.
The waiter then proceeds to ask my family and I what we'd like to drink. She stood out to me, clearly. Her energy was vibrant and I could see it in her eyes; she was alive, unlike almost everyone else I had talked to so far. Her hair was long silky and black, and her eyes a piercingly glowing green. I've forgotten what my family members requested to drink, but I asked for water.
Fast forward by a huge amount of time and I am now at work. All of the lights in the store are off, and I can tell by looking through a nearby window that it is dark outside as well. The only light coming in is from the full moon far above me in the night sky. I see one of my other managers, John, taking inventory and just checking the store out. He is out of uniform and seems to not care at all that I am just standing, some 10 feet away from him, not doing any work. Seconds later a group of my coworkers come by and ask for my help on fixing some light-machine. I proceed to do my best to fix it. By the looks of it, the machine emitted strong neon red, green, and yellow lights when working. Much of it looked to be disconnected including the many wires that accompanied it. I did my best and attempted to reconnect everything with the help of my coworkers, but even then, the machine did not work.

Note: This is literally just a fraction of the dream. It lasted much longer than this, but as I mentioned earlier would take forever to type. The fear I experienced within this dream is still partly with me now. Right as I awoke from the dream this morning I literally almost cried due to just how scary this all was. I was also very disoriented as well as the dream felt more real than this waking reality. I feel that part of the fact that this dream was so long is because, in the dream, I knew that everything was real(definitely see possibilities for future use in my LDing journey). It was quite odd that even though practically all of my critical thinking abilities were present, I was not lucid.
Also, like I said, I left out many things. There were many other places and many long walks going to these places. One thing I know for sure now, is that anything is possible in dreams, as I've always thought.

    14. 17-01-XX Giant 'Illuminati' Buildings

      by , 01-31-2017 at 03:18 AM
I'm in a Tr0n-style landscape, that feels quite surreal. I think I'm in a rocky/somewhat mountainous area. I look in the distance, and see three absolutely titanic "buildings" (somewhat resembling a pyramid with flat top, or Tyrell Industries' HQ in Blade Runner) in the distance - each adorned with a giant triangle symbol above its gate. One building glows in a red hue, the one next to it green, and the one next to that blue.

    15. Fake Lucids Are Taking Over

      by , 01-31-2017 at 03:07 AM
So in dreams, our abilities are typically limited, and we are bound to follow the "plot" of the dream, blissfully unaware that we are dreaming. When one becomes lucid, one becomes truly conscious within the dream, can break free from the plot and decide for themselves what to do within the dream universe. Typically, the dreamer gains a whole set of abilities, only limited by one's imagination, and dream control.

I had a fairly active period in which I had quite a few LD's, most of them induced on purpose using practice. Then I stopped, but still had one or two LD's per year, naturally. Until last year... As of late, it's as if my subconscious has found a way to "sabotage" me. I have dreams these days, quite a few, in which I think I am lucid, feel I am lucid, but am not truly lucid. I gain a subconscious awareness of my reality (that I'm in a dream and I have god-like powers), but this awareness stays "beneath the surface" - like I'm not really aware of it.

Another way of putting is this: in lucids, you break free from the plot. The plot created by your subconscious, whose "job" it is to keep you unaware and following the story of the dream. So it's almost like my subconscious, in an attempt to stop me from breaking the plot, invented a genius way to stop me from doing so. It made the act of "breaking from the plot" a part of the plot! I literally dream about thinking that I'm dreaming. It gives me a bunch of cool powers I would normally have in real lucids, except they work far better because they do not *really* rely on dream control (like they do in lucids)...

That's just a theory of what this might be, though. Most of these "fake lucids" do wake me up when they end - just like all lucids do. I don't think I've ever *not* woken up right after a lucid ends (mine usually end when I lose control, typically when I'm having too much fun to bother about dream control). So that's a sign they could be lucids after all.

Still, in these "fake lucids" I never *truly* feel like I was free. I do in the dream itself, but after waking, it still feels like everything I did was "on rails", determined by another - not myself.

      Again, fascinating.
