    1. Haven't posted anything in a while so here's a super long dream for ya

      by , 01-25-2014 at 06:27 PM
Wow I haven't posted any dreams in ages––partly because I'm lazy, but also because I haven't been taking very good track of my dreams over the past few months. But now I'm trying to start keeping track again, and hopefully posting these will motivate me to write my dreams down more often.

I don't remember any dreams from last night, but I'll post a dream I wrote down a few weeks ago that was particularly long/crazy and had a ton of different parts in it. So yeah, here goes:

I go to [my college] and it’s the beginning of the school year—or so I assume because it’s all sunny and green outside and whatnot. It’s during orientation or something, and all the upperclassmen (the third and fourth years that is) have to join together to learn one huge dance. We all have to wear crazy colorful costumes with lots of feathers on them and stuff.

I’m late or something and I have to learn part of the dance from some random girl in a trailer near [the athletic center]. So I get in the trailer and the girl is showing me how to do part of the dance. It mostly involves some pretty simple move where I pretty much just have to step forward, then back, then to the side, or something along those lines. But she keeps saying I’m doing it wrong even though I thought it was super easy, so I figure I’m missing something.

Anyway, then the girl has to go somewhere, and there’s this random older guy (like a professor or something, I don’t know) standing outside the trailer who says he will teach me the rest of the dance later, but then he walks away. I become paranoid that I’m not going to be able to learn the dance in time.

I start walking around and looking at the various groups of people in their colorful costumes. It seems like everyone has split into groups and they’re all going to do separate dances. (I see [a girl I know from high school] and she’s talking about how her group has to wear fake boobs. Huhhh.) I think about how nice it is that the upperclassmen get to do this instead of doing stupid orientation activities.

There’s another short part where I’m lying in my bed (at home) and [two of my sisters] are also in their beds and asking me questions about some movie about a chef––but like, the whole movie is a euphemism for sex somehow and they’re asking me to explain it and I’m like, “Uhhh … I don’t know.”

In another part I’m working at [the library where I used to work] again, and I’m not really doing anything––just wandering around the stacks looking for something interesting to read. But every time I find a spot where I can just stand around and read for a while, I see some other librarians standing around talking and I’m afraid I’ll get caught.

I end up in some random corner where there are a bunch of flyers and booklets on a shelf and I’m trying to arrange them all in a neat row but they keep all falling over or turning outwards. I realize it might be a better system if I just had them all arranged so that they were facing out, but then I’m too lazy to change the arrangement I’ve already made.

Below that shelf there’s another shelf with gigantic picture books on it. They all look super old. Apparently they’re reference books and I’ve never seen them before, and they’re all really cool––so I’m like, “Whoa, why did I never know about these?”

(I think I either wake up from this one or I have a false awakening—either way, I have this disorienting moment where I still believe I work at the library in real life and then I’m really confused, like, “No I don’t … Wait, yes I do … Wait, no I don’t …”)

There’s some really short part where I’m watching some thing where Superman and some blond lady with a ponytail and I think a few other people are all running through this stormy landscape and then there are these helicopters chasing after them that are going to shoot at them, and Superman is like, “Haha well that’s okay, because I’m immune to bullets!” And all his friends are like, “Ummm … but we’re not.”

Yet another part: I’m in my grandparents’ (old) house, in their TV room. I think maybe my mom is also there? And I’m trying to call [my sisters], and then I try to call [three of my friends from high school] … because apparently all five of them are on a hike together. When I try to call [my sister] she doesn’t pick up her phone, but then this weird thing happens where she somehow answers the phone after her “leave a message” recording thing has played but I still can’t talk to her because she can’t hear me I guess. I think I actually talk to [my friend] on the phone but I forget what she says.

In another part I’m in some random kitchen (which kind of looks like our kitchen at [the place I used to live]) and I think my whole family is there. There’s this weird washing machine; [my brother] opens it and it still continues running even when it’s open. But the whole time it’s running, it’s overflowing and squirting all this water into the microwave which is situated above it. And my mom is like, “Oh don’t worry, that’s normal.”

At some other point, I’m at some random event and all my high school friends are there. We’re all sitting in this big field somewhere and it’s kind of getting dark outside. I’m talking to [one of my friends] and I have a popsicle stick for some reason––one of those ones with a joke on it. And I’m like, “Haha want to hear a popsicle stick joke?” and then I try to read the joke but I misread it and accidentally think it says something about Sherlock and I’m like, “Lol I can’t stop thinking about Sherlock.” (I had this dream after the day season 3 started, so ... it was actually true.)

And finally there’s some other part where there are a bunch of kids are having some kind of race and then there are these two boys who are particularly competitive with each other … ? Err yeah I don’t remember the details.
    2. Hill, Bus, Pizza!

      by , 02-08-2013 at 01:31 AM
I’m riding on a school bus with Cara, Sarah Jayne, Luna, and Rachel. Rachel and I are supposed to get off at the same stop. We are going down a hill and we are supposed to get off halfway down the hill but the driver takes us all the way to the bottom. Rachel and I explain to the bus driver that we were supposed to get off earlier, but neither of us is really mad about it.

So, I get off the bus with all my friends. We are all standing in front of a house that looks like my grandma's house and I think we are all about to go into it but we stay outside. Apparently Cara had a bad day, so Sarah Jayne brought her a pizza. I hug her to make her feel better.

I remember some other brief moment where Abby calls me to invite me to a birthday party or something, but I can’t come because I’m not at home.

    3. Little Kid Game Show, A Muddy Walk, and Pretzels

      by , 01-30-2013 at 02:56 PM
I only remember a few dream fragments. I think I woke up in the middle of the night and thought about writing down my dreams right away, but I was too lazy, so … oops.

      1. In one dream, I’m watching some kind of game show, and all the contestants are little kids. I can’t really remember anything else about this one.

      2. I’m staying in some large house, and some of my high school friends are there. I decide to go for a walk with one of my friends––Alison––but I need to find my rain boots first. I seem to have brought an enormous pile of shoes with me, and I have to search through them before I finally find the right boots. Then I go outside with Alison. It’s very gross and barren looking outside. The ground is muddy and covered with ice/snow in some places. There are only a few trees here and there, and they’re all completely bare. When Alison and I return to the house, I see that all of our other friends are reading the books I brought with me. I notice that Catherine is almost done with the book she’s reading even though we were only gone for like ten minutes (which is funny, because she does read extremely quickly in real life).

      3. I go to this food store place with some friends. We’re all planning on buying pretzels. There are these pretzel sticks and they all cost like 25¢ or something. So I grab a handful of pretzel sticks. And then there’s this tray with change all over it, and I grab a few coins. I wonder if I’m stealing the money or whether I’m allowed to do this … but I do it anyway.

I go up to the counter and put my pretzel sticks down. The cashier tells me that it will cost me $3.99. This surprises me since I thought it would be cheaper, but I don’t question it. I look in my wallet and I seem to only have quarters, so I start to pay the guy in quarters. It’s taking forever and I’m holding up the line, and the cashier is getting impatient with me and telling me to hurry up. Finally I find a $5 bill and put it down on the counter. But when I look up, I see that the original cashier is gone and now there’s this random girl where he was standing. And she’s like, “He got so impatient that he left” or something. So I’m like, “… Sorry,” and I buy the pretzels.

I go outside and sit down on the sidewalk with my friends. I believe Sarah Jayne, Cara, Megan, and Luna are there. We all start to eat our food. Sarah Jayne has these big vitamin things that she offers to everyone but we’re all like, “No.”

Somehow, we all end up sitting in this random tunnel. Megan is rolling around on the ground for some reason, and then Luna is asking her questions about her life and Megan has to answer them. I think Sarah Jayne is also asking some questions. And … I’m just sitting there. And that’s all I remember!
    4. Filming a TV Show, Camping at Grandparents' House, Dancing, and a Parade of Hybrid Animals

      by , 01-29-2013 at 06:27 PM
I don't normally write down my dreams in the middle of the night because I've just been too lazy. But last night I woke up twice––once at about 2 AM and again at about 5 AM and remembered a couple of dreams each time. This time, I forced myself to write them down on my iPod so I wouldn't forget them. So, I remembered a total of four dreams last night, which is pretty good for me!

      1. I’m filming a TV show with my friends, which I believe included Sarah Jayne, Cara, Megan, and Luna. The TV show is supposed to be semi-autobiographical I guess––that is, I think it’s supposed to be based on reality, even though it isn’t really but oh well. Supposedly we’ve been working on this TV show for a long time and now we’re nearing the end of the whole series. In the episode we’re filming, Sarah Jayne becomes a police officer. We’re all walking down the street together and Sarah Jayne is in the lead, talking into a walkie-talkie and being all police officer-y. There's apparently some criminal after us. We run down some stairs that lead down into a subway. Right about when the criminal is about to catch up to us, we stop filming. We all sit down on the stairs and start laughing and crying with joy, because we are overwhelmed since we're getting near the end of the show.

      2. My family and I are camping out at what I think is supposed to be my grandparents’ house. My little siblings are all sleeping in tents. Annabelle and Teddy spill mini candy canes in their tent. I can’t actually see inside their tent since I’m standing on the outside, but I hear my parents scolding them about it and I see the half-empty bag of candy canes on a table nearby.

      3. I'm at this weird dance place and I'm dancing with some random girl. And then we all have to switch partners and I have to dance with this really tall guy with a beard and a hat. Everyone laughs at us because of the height difference, because he’s like three feet taller than me. We're doing some kind of line dance. Suddenly there are lots of little kids around, and we all start to randomly sing.

      4. I’m supposed to go to drawing class but I wake up late. I go to this weird little bathroom that’s like a small wooden cabin built into the middle of the house. I see Sarah Jayne and we get on this wagon thing, which we apparently use to get to class. We ride through a field and this guy gets onto the wagon with us. He’s supposedly my teacher and he says this time he can excuse me for being late, but next time he won’t.

We’re riding through a field and suddenly there are all these weird hybrid creatures walking by––like cows and giant chickens with human legs (who are also wearing clothing) and also couples of people sharing one pair of legs. We start following these creatures around. One of the weird chicken creatures starts peeing corn kernels. Sarah Jayne and I thin this is funny and we have some conversation about eating poop for some reason. Then we stop and talk to this lady who apparently made all these creatures and she explains to us how she did it. Something about sewing them together or something sketchy like that.
    5. B6 Vitamins Fail Me; I Have a Brief Dream About My Kitchen

      by , 01-28-2013 at 02:57 PM
So, I bought some B6 vitamins yesterday to experiment with them a bit. I took one 100mg pill at about 7:00 PM last night, so that was probably about four or five hours before I actually went to sleep. It seemed to have no effect at all, but maybe that was because I didn’t take it close enough to bedtime. I’m going to be trying to use them once weekly, I think. And next time maybe I should try taking it right before I go to bed instead…?

Anyway, I recall a brief dream in which I’m at home, standing in the kitchen with my mom. I’m putting dishes away. I remember holding a big blue bowl at some point. One of my sisters is possibly there, too. My mom is talking about “Parks and Recreation” with me (probably this happened because I was watching it right before I went to sleep). And in the dream this confuses me a bit since I know my mom doesn’t like the show and therefore doesn’t watch it. (Maybe I should’ve taken this as a sign I was dreaming, haha.)
    6. I dance with strangers in my basement

      by , 01-26-2013 at 09:18 PM
I’m in my basement at home. I go down the stairs. All the furniture is gone and the whole thing is just empty. There are a bunch of people there … people I don’t know from real life. We all start dancing in a circle. It kind of dimly occurs to me that I’m dreaming, but I think at that point I wake up. That’s all I can remember.
    7. Kids Going Crazy at a Thrift Store

      by , 01-25-2013 at 03:15 PM
I’m at a thrift store. I’m wandering around looking at dresses. There are a lot of sleeveless dresses with cool patterns on them, and I’m thinking about trying on some of them … but then, suddenly, there are all these kids running around in the store and I guess it turns out I’m supposed to be playing some kind of game with them. So, for some reason I have to hide under a clothes rack. And I’m just lying there on the floor, and then kids keep like, leaping over me and I’m afraid I’m going to get trampled.

Yeah, that’s all I can remember.
    8. Lions and Zebras Try to Take Over the World; I Steal Sunglasses and Have a Nose Piercing Problem

      by , 01-25-2013 at 05:39 AM
Uh … OOPS it’s been months since I last wrote an entry in this thing. That would explain why lately I’ve been having so much trouble remembering my dreams. I really need to get back into the habit of doing this so that I can have cool dreams again. Yeah.

Well, I recently had a pretty cool/weird dream. It went something like this:

It starts off as kind of a third-person thing, where I’m not really a part of the action, I’m just observing the story.

There are a bunch of lions and zebras living together in a giant palace. There’s one lion who’s the king of them all. And he decides that he and the other lions and the zebras are going to destroy humanity. He sends one of the zebras to warn the humans of their oncoming doom.

So, the zebra walks up to a house. It’s night-time. The back door opens and Will Smith walks out. The zebra is like, “We’re going to destroy humanity, bwahaha.” And if I recall correctly, he has some gruesome thing with him like a head on a stick or something which I guess is part of the warning sign or whatever. Will Smith is like, “Oh no!” And that’s the only part he plays in the dream and I’m not sure why he was there at all. Oh well.

This is where I finally become a part of the dream, although I’m a random character and not really myself. I’m riding on a white horse to the palace along with some other people––I don’t know who they are. I think I’m leading everyone there. I have a sword and I start swinging it around and thinking about how I’m going to cut off the king lion’s head.

We’re galloping over this beautiful landscape with rolling green hills and everything. I think we go over a bridge at some point. Then in the distance, I finally see the palace. It’s huge and gleaming and white, and there’s a rainbow coming out of the top of it and stretching up into the sky. I’m like, “Whoaaa … that’s pretty.”

At this point I have a somewhat lucid moment, in which I’m suddenly aware that I’m in the dream and that I’m simultaneously asleep in my bed. I know I’m about to wake up, but I try not to because I really want to get to the palace and kill the lion. Alas, I wake up before we get there. Oh well.

As for dreams I had last night (or maybe it was this morning):

I vaguely remember a dream in which I was at a beach, and I acquired a pair of fancy sunglasses. Somehow, I know that I stole these sunglasses, although I don’t remember exactly how that happened. I feel guilty about stealing them, but I keep trying to justify it to myself, like, “Oh, everyone steals sometimes!”

Anyway, I can’t remember much about what the sunglasses look like besides that they have a brown tint to them, and I also realize that I can see through the lenses (and I’m super near-sighted, so this is weird). So, they basically function like regular glasses except they’re tinted. But for some reason I think this is like, the best thing since sliced bread.

Not sure if it was part of the same dream, but I recall a brief fragment of a dream in which I am standing in front of a mirror and I take out my nose piercing. My nose instantly begins gushing blood everywhere and I panic … but I think I manage to get it back in again.

… So yeah. Now I should start remembering to write these lovely gems down. I want to keep having cool/lucid dreams.
    9. Dragons and Lightning!

      by , 09-07-2012 at 01:55 PM
I haven’t had any dreams that I can remember for the past few days, but I finally had some memorable ones this morning. And I was lucid during one of them!

Or well, it was kind of like one big dream but with two parts. And one of them was like, a dream within a dream. So yeah.

Two of my sisters and I are sharing a room together, and the room only has one bed that we all have to sleep on. It’s the morning, and two of my sisters are arguing because there’s not enough room on the bed. One of them gets out and lies down on the floor instead. I curl up at the foot of the bed and I’m like, “I’m going to have a lucid dream now.” And then I fall asleep within the dream and have another dream. A dream within a dream. Oooh.

So anyway, during this part of the dream I was aware I was dreaming and could control aspects of the story. I was sometimes a character in the story and sometimes just an observer.

So, there’s this guy and this girl who are a couple. And they have a pet dragon because … that’s cool. The girl wakes up in the morning. They live in this small wooden house, where sunlight streams in between the planks of wood. The girl walks out the front door, and the dragon is waiting there. It opens its wings––which kind of look like they’re made of lace. That is, they’re black and have this cool transparent pattern on them. In the background, the sun is rising and the sky is red and cloudy. And the girl is like, “Ooh, pretty.”

The guy comes outside to join her. They have some conversation where the girl is like, “Mehhh I’m so ugly!” and the guy is like, “I think you are very attractive!” and whatnot. Then they decide to fly around on the dragon for a while.

So, they get on the dragon and take off. But then suddenly there’s a storm, and they get struck by lightning and fall out of the sky. The guy and the dragon are okay, but the girl goes missing, and all the guy can find are pieces of her shoes.

Back at the cabin, the guy just sits around and cries with the pieces of the girl’s shoes all around him. He has a friend who also lives there, and that guy is sitting by a wood stove and pretends to be crying whenever people stop by so that they’ll leave him alone, or … something. I don’t really know what the logic is.

There were two other parts of the dream, but I don’t remember which part of the dream they were part of, or what they had to do with anything at all. In one part, I was watching this weird steampunk golf tournament on TV. And in another part, I was a man who had to dress up as Dorothy from “The Wizard of Oz” for some unknown reason.

      So yup! That’s all, folks.

    10. Windows and Cameras and Cards

      by , 09-01-2012 at 02:26 PM
I’m in a house with my family. We’re looking out the window. The window has like, two different layers to it, and they both have writing all over them. Outside, it’s kind of dark but there are mountains and pine trees. I think it’s a really pretty view, and I want to take a picture of it.

I go to find my camera, which I apparently left in the next room in a backpack. I take out my camera case and open it, but I discover that I brought the wrong camera. Instead of bringing my good camera, I brought my crappy camera that I used to have in middle school.

But, there’s nothing I can do about it so I decide to go take pictures with it, anyway. Just like in real life, it takes like a whole minute for the camera to take a picture, and when it does, the picture turns out all blurry. Plus, I’m having trouble finding a good spot from which to take a picture, since all my siblings are crowding around me and it makes it hard to move or see.

Finally, they all leave and I’m alone in front of the window. I take a picture of the outside. And then I try to take some pictures of my face, but they all turn out looking really weird and Picasso-esque. And I’m like, “What the hell is wrong with this camera?”

Then I notice a table in front of me, with a card on it. Somehow, I know that my six-year-old sister made the card. On the inside, it has a picture of a lamb and it says “Bless this card” or something along those lines, along with some other religiousy things. And I’m like, “Huh, I didn’t know Annabelle was so religious.”
    11. Weird iPod

      by , 08-30-2012 at 08:52 PM
Only one dream fragment that I can remember, and not a very detailed or interesting one…

I’m in a school cafeteria––some weird mixture of my middle & high school cafeterias. I’m sitting at a table with some of my friends. At least, I remember Abby and Christopher (two of my best friends) being there, and some other random people.

Christopher has an iPod with him, and Abby and I steal it (or, you know, just take it away from him temporarily––not like we’re taking it from him forever). We start messing with it and making some weird playlist. His iPod has some weird feature where you can like, make a playlist within a playlist. So, our playlist actually has like four parts or something. It’s pretty neat.

(I guess it would be kind of pointless, but it would be cool if it actually existed seeing as I tend to make such long playlists... Haha.)
    12. I Ride a Boat Full of Cats to Disney World

      by , 08-29-2012 at 03:13 PM
I’m on a boat with my family. The inside of the boat is full of water, and we’re all just floating around in it. But then, I guess the water drains out because suddenly it’s all gone.

I’m talking to my sisters, when suddenly I remember that I might have forgotten to pack my laptop. Part of me doesn’t care that much because apparently we’re going to be somewhere that doesn’t have any Internet access anyway, but I still wanted my laptop around so that I could write on it and stuff. So, I go to double-check my luggage. There are some plastic bags lying around and I start looking through them, but they’re all just full of shoes. Finally, I find my backpack, but it looks like I didn’t pack anything very useful. Apparently I only packed a few items of clothing and then a bunch of Beanie Babies. And I stuffed everything into the front pocket instead of packing it in the main part of the backpack.

So, I stand up again. And right then I become lucid for like two seconds. It just randomly occurs to me that I’m dreaming, and I run out onto the deck of the boat saying, “I’m lucid! I’m lucid!” I decide I’m going to jump off the boat and into the water. So, I do that. But, as soon as I do, I just find myself back on the boat again and I’m no longer lucid. Oh well.

When I’m back on the boat, I see that my dad is standing at a stove and cooking something. When I get closer, I see he’s frying a bunch of snails in a pan. And they’re not normal snails, either … They’re like, super gigantic snails that are probably like six inches long. My mom is standing nearby and starts complaining about how disgusting it is and how my dad will just have to eat those by himself.

At that point, I start walking up some stairs, because apparently the boat has two floors. On the second floor, there are a few rooms that look like bedrooms, and one room that looks like a kitchen. For some reason, I’m convinced that my friend Hannah lives on the second floor of the boat.

There are a ton of cats on the second floor. I don’t remember all of them, but … There’s this one, huge fat grey and white cat that’s just sitting around. There are a couple of small, grey kittens. And then there’s this really exotic-looking cat who has a black head, but the rest of her body is orange (possibly with some white … I don’t remember very clearly). She has abnormally large ears. And when she blinks, her face kind of like, folds in on itself so you can’t see it. It’s weird. But anyway, I really like this cat and start petting her. Just then, Hannah’s mom comes up the stairs, and I feel guilty because apparently the cat is hers, and it was in her bedroom. But she doesn’t seem to care I’m there. Suddenly, all of my family comes upstairs and they’re all wandering around.

I start playing with one of the kittens, and I try to pick him up, but he scratches my finger. I look down and see that my index finger is bleeding. I walk over to the exotic-looking cat and let her lick the cut. My mom is watching and she’s like, “Awwwww.”

We’re now standing in the kitchen on the second floor, and everyone is pouring cereal into plastic bags and then … layering the plastic bags on top of each other. It’s sort of hard to describe. But anyway.

Apparently the whole time, we were taking the boat to a family reunion of some sort. It’s at some theme park––I guess kind of like Disney World? Anyway, I end up waiting around for this Cinderella-themed ride. It’s this huge white and gold boat that just like, flies up into the sky and swings around.

So, the boat comes down out of the sky, and two ladies dressed as the evil stepsisters get off it, complaining that the ride has no seatbelts. So I’m like, “Oh boy.” Just then, two of my sisters show up and we all get on the ride.

Sure enough, there are no seatbelts. There are just a bunch of benches running across the boat. There’s this random Asian guy sitting at one end of the boat dressed as Prince Charming and he’s like, “HELLOOO.” And we’re all like, “… Hi.”

The boat flies up into the sky and starts swinging back and forth. And we’re all pretty much just sliding around like crazy. And I’m afraid I might fall off, except there are a bunch of these wire fence-type things around the sides of the boat, so I figure I’ll be okay.

Even though only my sisters and I got on the boat to begin with, there are suddenly a lot of other people on the ride as well. The ride keeps going upside down, and when it does, we all just have to sort of hook our feet under the benches and hang there. Then there’s some point where the benches detach from the inside of the boat––and we all have to hold on to a bench as it shoots off into the sky. And when that happens, everyone has a ray of magical color streaming out behind them, and it forms a rainbow.

After that part, there’s this other part where each person gets filmed individually while they dance around holding a fake gun. Apparently there’s going to be some event where we all pretend to shoot each other, for some reason. I stand in front of a computer, watching the people who have been filmed so far. Everyone has to dance against some weird, purple background.

Anyway, I wander off and then my mom and I start talking to some old guy who is apparently related to me. He talks about how he loves that ride that I just went on, and how his favorite part is the shooting part, because it reminds him of when he fought in some war. Then he starts talking about the war and about how horrific it was. And he talks about how he had this wound in his leg, which he claims looked like a gaping mouth with razor-sharp teeth or something. And I’m like, “… What.”

I start thinking about how horrible it would be to be in a war. And suddenly I’m afraid I’m going to get drafted into a war or something, and I’m going to die.

Then one of my younger siblings comes up to me––I think Annabelle––and she wants me to come with her, to find some fireworks that are apparently going on. So, I go with her to look for them. For some reason, she thinks they’re in this nearby dark room. But nothing is going on in there, and there are people in there sleeping in sleeping bags. So we leave.

      And I think that’s all.
    13. Legend of Korra, and Leaving for College

      DREAM #1

I’m on vacation somewhere with my family. We’re staying in this big, old house. I explore around the house, and I keep finding weird secret passages that lead outside.

Later on, I check my computer and I find out that the second season of “The Legend of Korra” is going to start the next day.

Then I guess it’s the next day, because I go to find a TV. When I find one, there are a bunch of other kids there. I guess they’re like my Korra-watching club from my college, but I don’t really take a close look at their faces. I guess the TV doesn’t work or something, because we don’t actually end up watching anything.

I wander off to go see this performance that apparently is somehow related to “The Legend of Korra” … The performance is outside, and people just sit on random benches around the performers and watch. I can’t find a bench to sit on, so I just randomly walk around.

Anyway, the play turns out to be like, the Ember Island Players basically. So, it’s really bad. There’s one girl in the play who just wanders off to the side and starts laughing because she realizes the play is really bad. And then her father, who is also in the play, starts yelling at her for ruining everything. But, then the play just continues.

There’s a large group of people sitting on one bench, but then they all get up and leave. So I’m like, “Oh goody! A free bench!” So I rush over to it. But then I feel guilty about stealing the bench in case those people come back, so I just sit on the arm of the bench or something so I’m not really taking it. Some other girl comes over and sits down on the bench. And she and some other girl argue about who gets to sit on the bench … But, I’m not really paying attention.

I also just stop paying attention to the play and start reading some book that I have with me. The book has a lot of illustrations … or maybe it’s a graphic novel or manga or something. I don’t recall what was in it, really.

Eventually I leave and go back to my room in the house, and check my computer again and go on Tumblr. I see that people are posting all these clips from the new “Korra” episode. And I’m like, “AAH SPOILERS.” There appear to be like … pirates in it, or something. I decide I’m going to look up the episode later.

My sisters tell me that we’re all going bowling at some apparently awesome bowling alley. But, the dream ends before we actually go there. Too bad.

      DREAM #2

… Or this could be a part of the same dream? I’m not entirely sure.

I’m at home. And, my parents decide I’m going to go back to college right away, even though I haven’t packed or anything yet. So, I try to start packing but I can’t find everything I need. So I’m just like, shoving random things in the car.

I find some books that I’m going to pack … and then some weird thing happens, like I have a memory within the dream of buying those books. It was at some small bookstore, and I remember picking out books, and then shoving ones I didn’t want under a table or something, and feeling guilty about it … I don’t really know.

Anyway, so there’s this closet where I’ve been storing a lot of my dorm room stuff over the summer (in real life), so in the dream I go looking for it. But I find that someone has moved a big dresser in front of it or something, so I can’t get it open.

I start kind of panicking and realizing I don’t have time to pack everything. I go outside where my parents are waiting for me. Except, my mom looks like one of my great aunts and not like my mom, which is weird. But anyway, I start explaining to them that I don’t have time to pack everything, and that if I went now I’d just be alone on campus for like a week anyway.

At first, they don’t seem to care. But then they finally say I don’t have to go back yet. But they still want to drive to campus just to look at the pretty autumn scenery or whatever.
    14. Train Stations and Grocery Shopping

I only remember two short, not very detailed dreams from last night. Blah.

      DREAM #1:

I’m in a train station. I think I’m trying to figure out what train I’m supposed to be on but I can’t figure it out. Or I miss the train. Something along those lines. This isn’t the first time I’ve had a dream about missing a train, being on the wrong train, etc.

      DREAM #2:

I’m at a grocery store, and I’m trying to buy my groceries. I’m trying to use my debit card to pay for my groceries, but I find out I don’t have enough money on it. I have a separate ATM card for my savings account, and for some reason I think I can use that to pay, but I can’t. I feel disappointed and realize I’ll have to put back all the groceries I was going to buy.
    15. Lightning Storm and Back-to-School Madness

      by , 08-23-2012 at 01:30 PM
Two dreams from last night ... Both of them pretty long, neither of them lucid. But they were pretty memorable and detailed, at least.

      DREAM #1

      Time: 1:05

I'm with my family. We're staying at a huge house in Cape Cod with really large windows. In part of the dream I have to sleep somewhere weird like on a chair in the kitchen. I wake up there and think it's the middle of the night, but then my mom is in the kitchen and tells me it's 7 AM. Everyone else in the family is in the living room, which is joined with the kitchen, watching TV.

Then there's a huge lightning storm outside. I stand next to Milo (my little brother), and we watch the storm. We can see the ocean from our house, and it's getting closer and closer. Waves start coming in under the door, and Milo starts screaming and freaking out. I keep yelling at him to calm down, but then I'm secretly worried that the house is going to collapse.

So we all run around the house for a while, admiring all the beautiful lightning outside, and stuff.

After the storm is over, my mom is telling us about how there's going to be a photography competition for people who took pictures during the storm. My sisters and I plan to go to the awards ceremony for this contest, because apparently there are going to be cute teenage boy photographers there or something.

I'm sitting on top of a large bouncy ball during this conversation. The ball has a map of the world on it, drawn in blue and white.

My dad walks in and hands me a really beat-up envelope with green Crayon drawings on it that I assume were drawn by Teddy (my other little brother). Inside is a letter telling me I got into Ithaca College. For some reason everyone in my family seems to find it hilarious. It's either because the letter is old or because it got sent really late, after I've already been through a year of college. Don't know. Anyway, I feel disappointed because I thought the letter would be something more important.

Side note: my sister woke me up from this dream asking if I was okay...apparently I was moving around a lot during the last 30 seconds of the dream or so, and she thought something was wrong with me. Ah haha.

      DREAM #2

      Time: ~7:30

I return to Hampshire (where I go to college). When I get there, none of my friends are living in the same hallway as me like they’re supposed to. So, everyone else is a complete stranger.

I go into one girl’s room. I sit on her bed with her. She has really curly brown hair. She asks me what I’ve been doing lately, and I tell her I’ve been doing a lot of writing and drawing.

No one else in our hallway is there, because apparently they’re all on “Project Runway” and are off designing clothes all day, and don’t come home until late at night.

The curly-haired girl and I decide to go to some party or something that’s going on. It’s this outdoor event where everybody is sitting at round, black tables on some kind of patio or something. There’s a guy giving a speech, and everyone gives me and the curly-haired girl mean looks because we walked in on the middle of the guy’s speech.

The girl and I sit down at a table. The guy giving the speech says that there should be a bowl of fruit at the center of our table, but the bowl on our table is empty. When I look around, I see that all the other tables have huge bowls of blueberries and strawberries on them. The curly-haired girl is very upset that we don’t have any fruit.

After that, I go to talk to my mom and Fiona (my sister) who are apparently also there. They’re standing next to this pile of what looks like Spanish rice, with tiny mussels in it. It looks really nasty, but my mom says we have to eat some of it. I pick up a handful and eat it, and discover that the mussels just kind of taste like black beans or something, so it actually tastes quite good. So, I keep eating the stuff. For some reason, as I’m eating I think about a time someone apparently told me that you could survive if you only ate three grapes a day––which I’m pretty sure is not true, but in the dream I’m like, “That’s such a fascinating fact!” Fiona is still reluctant to eat the rice, but she eats some of it anyway.

I decide I’m going to go make a sandwich, because apparently there are sandwich-making materials around. I have difficulty finding two pieces of bread, for some reason. The bread is kind of dark … whole wheat, I guess? I put several pieces of orange-colored cheese in the sandwich––and I want to find some turkey, but I can’t find any.

I find a row of fruit, and I’m excited because I decide I really want some fruit. There’s a different set of tongs for each kind of fruit. I want strawberries, but the strawberries don’t seem to have their own set of tongs––so I use the ones that are supposed to be for cheese. Some lady––who looks like my 11th-grade Chemistry teacher––comes up to me and starts yelling at me, saying I’ve made the strawberries taste like cheese or something. I also feel guilty because I realize that, if someone was allergic to strawberries, they can’t eat any cheese now.

I go to look for some coffee, and I find that there aren’t many coffee cups left. There’s this hippy-ish guy with a long, pale beard cleaning out all the coffee mugs in a sink, but he’s not doing a very careful job. He’s just kind of carelessly rinsing them out and putting them on the counter. I pick up a mug that he just rinsed out, and it still looks dirty. But the other mugs left are weirdly-shaped and I don’t want to use them.

And uh, that’s all I can remember.
