Very similar to real life. Every single dream I have had i can relate to real life in one way or another. Feel free to comment! I enjoy reading what people have to say about my dreams.

    1. If Lucidity == True: Print "YES!"

      by , 05-02-2016 at 06:26 PM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
OK, so, this dream is pretty interesting. Or rather, "dreams". I'd had several lucids in a week while not actively practicing which sparked me to start posting on DV a bit, see if I could get those back to a decent consistency. That was a couple weeks ago and I had nothing between then and now. Luckily, after snoozing my alarm for what seems like ages (I think I just turned it off, actually), I got lucid... somehow. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it was a weird DEILD/MILD combo thingy. Either way, enjoy:

I was in some sort of old town, early 1900s, similar to New York City. I was in a large courtyard with a small fountain in the middle and only a few DCs sitting against on of the buildings of the courtyard doing god knows what. I was with a girl of some sort running through the courtyard essentially dragging her by her hand (she was still running). IDK what we were running for or from, but we headed out of the courtyard and into an alley. This is were it gets a little hazy. I remember spinning around as if I was trying to save a lucid dream, but I don't remember being lucid. The spinning wasn't very effective, because I woke up, still motionless and eyes closed, mind you, but awake. The thing is, normally I'll spin if I can tell a dream is fading (basically a small spark of lucidity at the last second of a dream) and can then prepare myself for a DEILD, otherwise it's a bit sketchy whether I'll stay still/keep my eyes closed. In either case, I laid still, kept imagining myself spinning just like I was when I woke up. Same area, same person I was with, same dizziness from spinning. After a surprisingly short time, I found the dream to feel a bit more real, tentatively tried to move around, and continued on like normal.

So DEILD? DILD? MILD? (I did use a mantra when I went to bed) No matter, we're lucid but, being a bit brash, I didn't bother to stabilize or really do much of anything besides continue the dream. I wasn't 100% lucid, but I did have control over everything and could think, mostly. So continuing the dream, we ran into a random door that seemed good at the time and ended up in a large stage theater right by the stage. No one was in here so I figured this was a great place to run through because, hey, we were running from something... I think. Anyway, we head up and out the theater door, when the dream starts to fade again. I try spinning like before to salvage it, but end up waking up again. Damn, I just new remembered that I had to program something! Either way, the same thing earlier happened. I envisioned myself still spinning, and after what seemed like only 30 seconds, I was able to keep going in the dream.

At this point we had accomplices, apparently. I remember them, somehow, so they were probably from earlier in the dream (the non-lucid part of which I don't remember well); two guys, around age 20, and another, still around that age that I don't recognize. We were on a very wide street, probably 100 feet wide so I'm not sure where we were anymore, but we continued walking down it because hey, if I want to code something I have to find a computer... I think. It's a dream, anything goes. I walked into the next building that caught my eye, thinking there would be a computer of some sort in there. When I got in all I saw was a very large staircase, one out of a foyer of a castle, so obviously we went up it. We had to go up a couple floors but at the top I saw it: a random table with a laptop on it. Perfect! So, I rush over to it and start looking for something to code in. The thing itself had soooo many programs open. Multiple word, powerpoint, excel files, multiple internet tabs (can't remember which browser) and plenty of other random things, so much like my computer. I decide to head to codecademy, since that's where I started and knew they had an editor and some way to run it. Unfortunately I kept mistyping the name. Either I was pressing the wrong keys or my dream was playing a trick on me.

After several failed attempts I just said screw it, clicked through everything, closed almost everything (this laptop was surprisingly fast) and opened up powerpoint. I didn't really open it, just opened one file (which had 80 something slides in it) and began deleting slides to make room. Could've just started a new file, but like I said, the dream was a little unstable. A couple people sitting on a bench nearby (may have been those younger guys) call over and ask what I'm doing. "Gotta code in a dream!" I told them. They just scoffed at me, kind of annoying but hey, they aren't interfering so I don't care. So finally, I have an empty powerpoint and no idea what to code. Well, lets make something that tells me if I'm lucid because, hey, it should return true, right?... RIGHT? So I typed in (to my recall) the following code:

      Code:
      def lucdity():
            if lucidity == True:
                  print "YES!"
            else:
                  print "no"
      print lucidity()
So yeah, that's how I remember it. It may have been worse, may have made no sense at all. That probably doesn't actually do anything and would just error, but either way it was a code in a dream. And, as is typical for this dream, right as I'm about to run it -- or rather, as I'm looking for a way to run it in powerpoint, the dream fades. Quickly, too. So I start to spin, but of course I end up
waking up. Well shit, guess we gotta DEILD one more time so I can finish the damn thing. So we repeat what we did earlier, really focusing at this point since I don't want all this work to go to waste. After what seems like forever, though I'm sure it was no more than a minute or to, I feel like I'm back in that building (it reminded me of some of the older buildings at Syracuse University, if any of you have been there before). Tentatively, I try moving around a little, open my eyes, and yes! We made it. I look back at the laptop to run my code, but it's already run. A big "True" is sitting in the comments section of powerpoint. OK, well, that's good. The dream confirming you're lucid is definitely a good thing. So we did it

Well, now we should continue the dream, right? I very vaguely remember tidbits on the dream before I got lucid originally, but I know we were heading somewhere. So I start to walk off with the girl I was originally with (no idea where those two guys went) but the third one steps in front of us. He threatens us with a pen, for some reason, and tells us we're not going anywhere (cliche ). For some reason I remember the pen so vividly, it was weird. The tip of it, the ballpoint with ink on most of it, but not all of it. It was one of those thick, purple ones where you twist half of the pen to write with it. I focused so intently on it, of course it means I didn't catch the dream fading. Before I know it I'm feeling my
body in my bed and barely have any grasp on the dream at all. I try to imagine my dream self spinning, seeing if I could get another DEILD. And then it happens. Those damn birds outside start singing and it's all I could focus on. It probably doesn't help that I had a pretty poor grasp on the dream at hand, but I always get annoyed whenever something external stops a DEILD train. But hey, we barely got a task done, had some fun (I think the dream beforehand involved me and the girl ) and broke a small dry spell.

    2. Flying Carpets, Pudding Pools and, Finally, the TotY!

      by , 02-14-2014 at 03:10 AM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
Well, I haven't been here in a while! I pretty much stopped with my whole online DJ, aside from the tasks, but maybe I'll have to change that But for this entry, it's still a TotY one, specifically Aladdin! Off to it, then

The dream started off in a large, traditional Japanese house, with multiple rooms and corridors, but only one floor. I was in a big dining area with a good size table and about a dozen elderly women kneeling around it drinking something out of mugs, likely tea. I stood in the doorway looking at them and could see outside behind them -- there was a large gap in the wall where sliding doors should've been. It was sunny and summertime, everyone was in light clothing and I think I was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt -- the women were dressed in kimonos, but they were thinner and more breathable than more traditional ones.

I walked past them and into another room where there were some end tables and a couple lamps, but nothing out of the ordinary. I continued to walk around the building, from room to room, just looking around, not really having anything in mind. I came full circle back to the room I was just in, but the women had gone out back and were suddenly having a barbeque. One was cooking hot dogs on a grill, a group were talking, and others were playing Frisbee. It was summer after all. I poked my head outside to see what exactly was going on, but just sort of stared for a little bit, zoning out at these elderly women dressed in kimonos and having a cookout.

I came out of it and turned away, walking back the other way through the house. I came to a room that has a small swimming pool in it with a small ladder in the corner. There was tile around it amidst the hardwood flooring that normally covered the floor, and luckily I noticed something was amiss.
I thought to myself, "Am I dreaming?" and plugged my nose to do a RC. I breathed in, and after a second, I could definitely breathe! It was a relief; I had been having a dry spell for a while which was broken recently with a really short, low vividness lucid which wasn't very satisfying. Being able to do a complete reality check with actual substance behind it was liberating. I looked around the room I was in, getting a full sense of what it felt like, and rubbed my hands for some stabilization. The walls were all vertical wood paneling but the ceiling didn't really look like anything; the room just sort of stopped and there was a roof, but no distinct ceiling.

Either way, I was lucid! So I didn't really care too much. I looked around the room, thinking of all the things to do, when I noticed a lamp in the next room over sitting on one of the end tables. I had remembered the TotY, but couldn't really remember what the specific tasks were. Luckily, the lamp reminded me of the Aladdin one: wish for a magic carpet, then whatever for the other two. I walked over to it, picked it up, and rubbed it. It wasn't what you'd expect a magic lamp to look like, but it was smooth and shiny, so I figured it'd work. Of all things to pop out, a DC from a couple previous dreams I had (my Hindenburg (TotY from 2012) DJ entry described him well) appeared right behind me. "Hey, what's up!? he said, startling me. I turned around and couldn't recognize him at first. Seeing my confused expression he told me, "Don't you remember? I kicked your ass a while back! For the task?"

Then it hit me, "Ooohhhhhh!... it's you. You didn't kick my ass, you kicked me in the head!" I retorted sarcastically. He had, in fact, kicked me in my head to wake me up. "It's just a saying, geez. You don't have to get so worked up about it," he retorted. "Anyway, you need a carpet, right?" That's true, I did have to take a magic carpet for a spin. "Uh yeah, you got one?" I asked. He nodded his head behind him and, sure enough, there it was. It wasn't magnificent looking at all like it was in the movie. It looked like a standard rug you would put a coffee table on over hardwood. But hey, if it's "magic" then I don't really care what it looked like.

"Thanks," I said halfheartedly. I walked past him and hopped on the carpet. I floated up above the floor a couple inches, and I turned around to say goodbye to him, but he had disappeared. Figures, he never did stick around for a while. I look back at the room with the pool in it, lean forward, and start flying quickly towards the wall on the other side. I put my arms up in front of me and break through the wall, nearly losing my balance and being blinded by the sun. I hadn't done too much dream control in a while, so I was a bit rusty. I basically rode the carpet like a snowboard, since that's something I was used to in real life.

I leaned right to turn around and take a look back behind the house to see the women still there, having their cookout. There were some guys there now, and the women were younger, much closer to the age you'd expect to have a random cookout and play Frisbee with. I got a good look at the house and the surrounding area and it was just as big as I had thought it would be. It was completely secluded with forest all around it and a small path leading out to a road a couple hundred yards out. I looked around me -- I was about 100 feet up at this point -- and could see a fairly large mountain in the distance. I circled a house for a bit a decided that this was probably good enough for the task and headed back to wish for two other things. After all, I could fly whenever.

I dropped straight down through the roof approximately where I thought the room with the lamp in it was. Something about the roof must've been off, because when I went through it I got thrown off the carpet and hit the ground hard. I could feel the dream about to be fading. "No! Not now, dammit!" I thought loudly, and as I tried to spin and save the dream, I unfortunately
woke up. However! I laid still and kept my eyes closed and tried to jump right back into the dream. I'm continuing this! I won't be defeated by some roof!

And I was back in the room with the lamp, completely lucid! I did another RC just to be sure, and sure enough I was good . "Welcome back," I heard a voice say. It was him again. "Have a nice trip?" Wow, I didn't know he made bad puns too. "Oh yeah, lovely," I told back. "Can I just have two more wishes?" I wasn't sure if I could still complete the task (Ophelia tells me now that yes, a DEILD is fine) but I wanted to be safe. "Sure! But what're ya gonna wish fer?" He said colloquially. "Give me some ideas!"

"Why not another task? Or... oo! I know! A Hindenburg blimp!" Wow, he just loves making fun of me, doesn't he . "Well then, Mr. Sarcasm, how about that pool over there becomes filled with chocolate pudding?" I pointed my finger at the pool. Why pudding? I don't know, I couldn't think of anything. Why chocolate? Because chocolate pudding is best pudding. Period. "Uh, sure, whatever," he spoke lazily. I watched intently as a small portion of the pool in the middle began to turn thick and chocolatey. It slowly expanded across the water and down to the bottom, just like supercooled water freezing.

'Damn, that's a lot of pudding' I thought, and I walked over towards it. I reached into my back pocket and pulled out a spoon (sometimes things are just where they need to be in dreams) and bent over. I scooped some up and right as I'm about to taste it I get kicked in by the aforementioned asshole. I fell in face first into the weird, chocolatey concoction, which was not at all like water, but I managed to right myself and breathe. He was standing there laughing, "Just be glad I didn't wake you up again!" He spouted rudely. I just spit some pudding from my mouth angrily
I just now realize my lucids are often like little sitcoms/cartoons xD) "Well? What's number three going to be!?" He asked triumphantly. I thought about just wishing to be out of this mess and cleaned up, but that wouldn't be entertaining to do, let alone read .

"How about you let me kick you in the head!" I shouted. I figured I could kill two birds with one stone, part of the TotY and a little revenge . "Well..." he pondered, "I suppose I am playing the role of the genie, so I guess I kinda have to." He rubbed his chin while he spoke. "Alright then!" I yelled, jumping out of the pudding pool. No clue how I jumped, but I also didn't have any pudding on me anymore. Yay dreams! He turned his back to me, "Have fun!" He shouted. Right as he finished I sung my right leg around and roundhoused him right in the head, just like he had done to me.
I blinked and was laying in my bed, awake. GOD. DAMMIT. That asshole got me again. By the end of this task I better beat him. Perhaps it'll be some good motivation!
    3. Cannonballs, Great White Sharcks, and the TotY

      by , 01-16-2013 at 06:30 PM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
I'm not sure if this was a DILD, MILD, or WILD. I did a WBTB at 4, said a mantra while falling asleep, and the next thing I knew I was in a dream already lucid with no recollection of any transition period or normal dream. I had three dreams and woke up at 4:45 so .

I was standing in my room, already lucid, only to find two of my friends on my bed having sex. What the hell?! I yelled at them to stop and leave and they complied with annoyed looks on their face as they walked out the door. Not the way I wanted this dream to start out, but I was lucid so I didn't really mind. That little incident made a sex lucid the first thing on my mind but I really wanted to work on the TotY so I thought about which one to do. The Colosseum task was the first to pop into my head but I had decided to save that one for last. Instead I figured I would do the Angel Falls on, South America, I think it was for.

My friends had left the door to my room open on their way out so I walked over, closed it, and envisioned myself at the foot of Angel Falls on the other side. When I opened the door, it was just my hallway. Let's try again. I closed the door, pictured Angel Falls all by itself on the other side and, when I opened it, I was greeted by a large waterfall in the middle of a rain forest. This must be it! I stepped through the door and was immediately hit with a hot, humid air that made my clothes stick to my chest. This stickiness made me realize that I hadn't stabilized yet so I quickly rubbed my hands together and took in a big, deep breath which was quite difficult with the humidity.

I had been in a rain forest once before, in southeastern Mexico, but these seemed much thicker and wetter. In front of me lay a huge waterfall, though quite thin. The whole thing was probably 1000 feet high but only 10-20 feet wide with a surprisingly little amount of water in it. I looked at the bottom to make sure there was a sufficient pool of water for when I jumped down and it looked like a good size: about 40 feet across and seemed deep enough. I started to float up to the top of the falls and noticed that there were a lot of rocks and bumps along the path of the waterfall, something which couldn't be seen from the ground. In order to get past these I would have to jump fairly far out.

I reached the top and landed on a small, rocky outcropping just alongside the falls. I looked over the edge and started to plan out which route I would take. I looked at the pool below to find a good landing spot, one that would be deep enough but also big enough to hit. I picked a spot in the pool that was darker and looked deeper than the rest. I took a few steps back, took a deep breath, and then leaped off the edge. I curled up into a ball and yelled, "Cannonball!!!" There were a couple seconds of awkwardness as I kept falling after I yelled that. The second I thought, "Hmm, I probably should have hit the wat-" I slammed into the water, right on my butt. That was uncomfortable.

A split second after I hit the water I felt a soft, muddy bottom and my feet sunk in a few inches. I pushed up from the bottom to re-surface but my feet got caught in the mud a bit and made this a wasted effort. I slowly floated back up to the surface and, upon lifting my head out of the water all I could see was white. There was suddenly a big cloud of mist from the waterfall, something that should've been there the entire time but for some reason never was. Well, that was it, I got another TotY done. I proceeded to fill that urge I had at the beginning. Right when I reached the pique of that, I
      woke up.

I had prepped myself for a DEILD in the dream prior to this and was ready for when I woke up. I relaxed and went back to sleep, making sure to stay awake. After only a few seconds I was back in a dream, in my room once again, and checked my hands to make sure I was in a dream. They looked normal as a whole but seemed a little off for some reason. I did a nose-plug to be sure and I could definitely breath. It was still nighttime and was completely dark in my room so I walked over to my light switch and flipped it on. Of course, this didn't work. I was messing with it for a second but then realized, "Dur, it's a dream!" I yelled out, "Lights, please!" and the room became bright.

I figured I would go for a second task since this was technically another dream. I decided on the Australia one and went through it in my head to be sure I wasn't missing anything. I had to hitch a ride on a turtle or something and then bite a great white shark, I think. I decided to try something new to get from my house in America to the great barrier reef in Australia. I went outside into my backyard and, for some reason, it was summer, which helped for what I wanted to do. I jumped into my pool, inspired by the Angel Falls task, and pictured the great barrier reef. When I resurfaced I was off the coast of what I believe was Australia with corals and fish around me. It worked!

I had never tried breathing underwater so I though this task would be a good place to try. I went underwater and at first tried to hold my breath to see if I could just do that forever but it didn't work, I had to breathe. I hesitantly took in a small breath through my nose and was somehow able to breathe, though it felt quite odd and still freaked me out a little bit. I looked around underwater, looking for a turtle to ride on since I wasn't sure what else I could. I saw brightly colored fish and a lot of coral but no turtles. I came back to the surface and looked around. I looked on shore just a few dozen yards away and there I saw a handful of turtle lying on the shore. I whistled to them, trying to get them to come over, and, now that I think about it, treated them like dogs .

But it worked. A couple of them looked up and over at me and began to make their way to the water. It took them a while just to move the 15 feet to the water but once they got in, they zipped right on to me. I grabbed one by its "shoulders" as it came by me and just hung on for the ride. It swam all throughout the reef, from various blue-green coral to pink colored sand at the bottom. There were countless amounts of fish, from rainbow striped to orange clown fish hiding in anemone. I rode around on the turtle for a few minutes but then remembered that I had to bite a great white shark. I looked around and all I could see were gray reef sharks circling down on the floor of the reef. They weren't doing anything interesting and I knew it had to be a great white so I let go of the turtle and headed out to see.

I had never really swam before in a lucid dreaming either so this had a lot of firsts for me. I experimented with swimming arm over arm like you're taught when you're a child, but that did little when I was completely underwater. I then tried moving my legs up and down, similar to a dolphin, and that worked quite well. I was moving much faster and had a lot more control that I did just flailing around aimlessly. Just a few seconds after I got the hand of swimming I saw what looked like a great white off in the distance. I swam towards it and as I got closer I could see that it was, indeed, a great white.

Sure, I could go up and bite it plain and easy, but what fun would that be? I pictured an orca whale, the only creature I could think of that would hunt sharks, or at least attack them. I felt weird and, when I opened my eyes, I had transformed into an Orca Whale! It felt odd not having arms or anything, and my vision was quite different, given that my eyes were now towards the side of my head, but it was definitely more interesting than being myself and going up and biting a shark. I spotted the great white and headed over to it. I picked up a lot of speed, opened my mouth, and bit right down on its tail, slamming into it with full force. The shark was obviously caught off guard and, being alone, tried its best to right back. I dodged its attempts to bite me back and continued to hit it. After about 30 seconds of me biting him in various places and dodging all its attacks, it swam off into the distance. Take that, Jaws!

I started to turn back into myself afterwards and pictured me with my arms, legs, body and head, as well as come clothes. I could feel my arms (which were now fins) turning back into themselves and by legs (which were now a flipper) separating again and my whole body grew smaller. Right as I was about to become myself again, I felt the dream start to fade. I quickly finished the transformation and rubbed my hands together, remembering that I had never stabilized this time. Unfortunately, it didn't work and I
      woke up.

Luckily, I was able to prepare for another DEILD that would end up begin successful. Instead of doing a third task I just mimicked the ending of my first dream. I'm still not sure whether the first one was a WILD or MILD, but I got lucid so I didn't really care .
    4. Pyramid Parkour and the Task of the Year

      by , 01-10-2013 at 06:42 PM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
I was driving in a car, I'm not sure what kind, down a large hill on a long, winding road. There were a few cars coming from the other direction and for some reason I thought there wasn't many for this time of day, it must've been rush hour or something. As I came to a bend in the road I looked over the guard rail overlooking a large cliff with a huge city in the valley below. I turned to my sister who was in the passenger seat and said, "We're almost there." We must've been going to whatever city that was. As we turned the corner I noticed temporary dividers in the middle of the road, like they would put down for construction, but nobody was working on the road. There weren't even any vehicles. As we continued down the road I noticed that there seemed to be an awful lot of police cars, the majority of whom were pulling people over. I wasn't speeding so I thought I was fine.

I distinctly remember passing a small, deep purple sedan with a cop standing next to the door. He was leaning into the car trying to reach something in the passenger seat. I didn't know what it was or why he was doing it but I continued on driving glad it wasn't me pulled over. Right as I thought this I saw blinking lights in my rear-view mirror; Damn, why me!? I continued around the next curve and pulled over to the side of the road. The officer got out of his car and had a very large hat on, much like troopers often wear but much bigger. He started walking towards our car and I began to get nervous. When he got to our car he didn't stop, he just kept on walking past us. He went around the next bend and when I looked behind me the cop car was gone. I looked over the edge of the cliff that the road weaved down and could see the officer standing at the bottom looking up at me. He winked.

For some reason this bumped me into lucidity. I'm not quite sure why but I didn't really question it; I was glad to have ended my dry spell and did a quick clock check for a RC. At first it said 3:17, pretty normal. I looked away and turned back to it. This time it said 9:62. Perfect, this was definitely a dream. I got out of the car and rubbed my hands together, not wanting to waste my first LD in a couple weeks. I asked my sister who was still sitting in the passenger seat and had been silent the whole time what I should do. She looked at me and said, "Weren't you asked to do some tasks or something?" Ah-ha! The TotY! The first one that came to mind was the Colosseum one but for whatever reason I decided against it. The next one that popped into my head was Africa, riding the great sphinx and fixing its nose.

I got back into the car and decided I would try a different way of getting there instead of just teleporting. I pushed a button that just appeared on the console and the car began to hover above the ground. I pulled back on the steering wheel which could now move like the controls of a plane and pushed the gas pedal. Away we went. I flew over the city, going quite fast since I figured we were in America and had to fly over the Atlantic. I looked down and couldn't quite tell what city it was but it was surrounded by desert and mountains beyond that. I figured either Las Vegas or Phoenix Arizona. It only took a few seconds to reach the mountain range and when we crossed it I could see the great pyramids over the other side. I opened the console of the car and found a staples button. Cheesy, I know, but I pressed it and a loud and, for some reason, female voice said, "that was easy."

I pushed down on the steering wheel and eased on the breaks. We landed about 200 yards from the sphinx and I knew I had to ride it up the pyramids but felt like something else was missing. Of course, the nose! As I looked it over I realized that its nose was completely intact; the whole thing looked like it had been completed just days earlier! What the heck, I was supposed to fix it . I figured since I had to fix it I might as well break it first. I flew up to its face and pulled my arm back, taking a good, solid swing at the nose. The tip fell off but I needed more, granted the whole thing was twice the size of me. I ran my hand along the bridge of the nose and then hovered over it and kicked down. The whole thing slowly slid down the face of the sphinx and it looked just like it did in the history books.

Now I had to undo what I just did. I was a little annoyed at it but hey, I want to get this done! I floated back to the ground and picked up the nose. Even though my arms couldn't reach all the way around it I was still able to somehow lift it. I flew back up to its face and set the nose in place. I then pushed it into the face and the whole thing fit like a key. Apparently this was indeed some sort of key, for the sphinx immediately began to move. Slowly but surely the whole thing stood up, looked around, and gave a long stretch and yawn. It then proceeded to lick itself, damn cat.

I hopped on its back and tried to get it to move, granted the thing's back was 25 feet wide, it wasn't a horse. I squeezed my legs like one would to get a horse to move but the sphinx just looked around and then laid back down. What the hell, this was supposed to be fairly straightforward! I thought for a moment while it started to drift off to sleep and then remember seeing cats chasing the little red dots that laser pointers create. I reached into my pocket and, sure enough, there was a laser pointer! I pointed it at the pyramid and could faintly see a little red dot, not nearly enough to get this thing's attention. I figured that, if it were a little bit darker out the light would be easier to see. I looked down at my wrist and found a watch. It said 4:00 P.M. so I pulled out the little time-set thing and changed it to 8:00. As the hands moved forward the sun went down and the moon came up. This was pretty cool, given that I had never really changed the time of day before.

As the sun went down I could feel the dream begin to fade. Damn, I haven't done this in a while! I quickly rubbed my hands together which stopped the fading and brought back some clarity but I knew that I didn't have much time left. I patted the sphinx on its back, which was still quietly laying there. It began to stir and I pointed the laser pointer at the ground in front of it; it was easy to see now! The sphinx's ears twitched and its head perked up, clearly noticing the little dot. I pointed at the pyramids which were about 400 yards away. The sphinx jumped up and immediately began to bound towards that light. I squeezed my legs as tight as I could just to stay on.

When it got close to the pyramid, the sphinx jumped, trying to pounce on the light. I quickly moved it up about halfway to the top of the pyramid, but it still ended up hitting the base and knocking some blocks off. C'mon, kitty, don't knock the thing down! It regained its awareness and found the dot again and immediately jumped up, running up the pyramid. This thing was steeper than I thought, it had to be at least a 40 degree angle
(after googling it, the actual angle is almost 52 degrees). The sphinx stuttered on a few steps as blocks fell out from under it but it continued to climb up the top.

I pointed the light right at the very peak and, right as we got close to the top, the sphinx jumped again, this time overestimating the height and clearing the entire pyramid. We both fell down for a few hundred feet and when the sphinx finally landed it began to slide down the side of the pyramid. The ride was quite bumpy and I could feel the dream beginning to fade. We reached the bottom just a couple seconds afterwards and I immediately jumped off, rubbing my hands to try and stabilize but to no avail. I decided that, since the dream was pretty much over and I had accomplished what I wanted to do, I would give the sphinx a treat. I waved towards the distance, motioning for something to come towards me. While doing this I envisioned a giant fish coming out of the horizon towards the sphinx. I tried to reward it for its hard work but just as I though I saw the fish come over the horizon
I woke up in my bed, my arm over my head in the same position I was waving in. The entertainment isn't confined to just the dreams

One down, six to go. Hopefully the next one won't take three weeks just to get lucid
    5. Lucidity...?

      by , 08-22-2012 at 09:44 PM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
Apparently I got lucid last night but all I wrote down was this:

Lucid in old burned down basement. Keep having to lick walls to stay lucid. Trying to solve why it's burned down. Have a FA, mess around with powers and focus.

Too bad I don't remember the dream nor writing that down. It doesn't sound too awesome though
    6. Quarter Dodgeball, Marching Band, and an Emergency Surgery

      by , 08-14-2012 at 04:10 PM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
I was on some large street intersection in a coastal city, it seemed like California. I was with a group of people who were apparently my friends standing on one side of the intersection and there was another large group of people, around their low 20s, standing on the other side next to some sort of toll booth. There were about 5 people on my side 10 on the other side. We walked towards the other group a little bit until we were about 25 feet away from them and then stopped to listen to a new person who was standing next to the toll booth. "Good luck!" he yelled, "GO!"

At this point we all dashed to the side and started running around. The other group of people starting throwing things ad us. One person and I locked eyes right before he threw something at me. It hit my side and then I ended up catching it in my elbow. "You're out!" I yelled. It must've been some sort of dodge ball game only instead of dodge balls we were using quarters. He looked at me with a smirk, laughed, and then threw another quarter at me though completely missed. For some reason, as he was laughing, I started to think this was a dream. I started to question things and looked around, paying a bit more attention. Then somebody threw a quarter at me and the guy sitting by the toll booth yelled, "You're out!"

I walked over to the curb, a bit annoyed at what just happened, but as I was walking I did a quick reality check, plugging my nose. Ah, that feeling of being able to breathe with your mouth and nose closed, awesome .
I sat down on the curb, looked around and stabilized a little bit, rubbing my hands ad then observing the area. There was a large city behind my with skyscrapers and other large buildings with a rather decrepit building directly behind me, some sort of old warehouse. Out to my front there was a beach and then the ocean with a boardwalk not too far up the coast.

I thought of what to do, maybe flying, maybe get into a big fight with all these guys, but I decided to do the TotM since I had only done one last month. Both came to mind, the surgery and the dream journal, so I just looked around for ample opportunity to do one of them. Much to my delight there was a notebook lying on the sidewalk, one much like my waking life DJ. I grabbed it and opened up to a page in the middle only to find a pen! Thanks subconscious . Most of the pages in the book were blank except for a few in the beginning which seemed to have little doodles on them. Nothing really jumped out on me, it just looks like somebody got bored in math class.

I thought of what to write and kept thinking of my MILD mantra (did a WBTB/MILD last night) but I wanted to do a real waking life thing. Then I remembered that we had had a marching band practice that night and did a run-through of our show for our parents, the "parent preview." Once I thought of marching band all the details came to me and I just quickly wrote down something along the lines of, "Went to marching band practice, did parent preview, woodwinds rushed and got off the beat in the first song, rest went smoothly." Thinking back about it now that's actually pretty accurate. There, one down, lets see if I can get two! The dream still felt well stabilized and fairly vivid so I just went for it.

I looked around only to realize that while I had been writing in my notebook I had moved to the high school where our practice took place. I was sitting on the curb looking out at our parking lot where we did out run-through. Nobody was there, not even a car. I got up and figured the best place to preform a surgery was at a hospital so I walked towards the main set of doors and imagined a hospital on the other side. The fact that these were glass doors (i.e. transparent) made the whole thing a little interesting. I stopped the door while it was only half opened and saw the school through the glass but through the part that was open I saw what looked like the ER of a hospital. I closed the door a little and it was just school. I opened it a bit more and it was hospital. It was pretty cool seeing the whole dreamscape change right in front of me like that but I knew that I should finish the TotM before I lose lucidity/wake up.

I walked in through the door and noticed a bunch of nurses running around. One of them stopped in front of me, looked at what I was wearing and said, "good enough," in a very rushed and hurried voice. She grabbed my arm and dragged me through the hospital to a sink, "come on, wash up!" she said, "Hurry!." I washed my hands and put on a pair of gloves that were right next to me. They were rather large, reaching up past my elbow but before I could really take anything in the nurse grabbed me again and dragged me into a little room and closed a curtain. I looked around a little bit and noticed that it was an emergency operating room with a table in the middle. Lucky for me there was a patient on it. Oh boy, I am not looking forward to this .

I looked at the patient and he was already unconscious, whether it was from anesthesia or passing out I didn't know, but he was out cold. The nurse who had dragged me through the hospital told me he had been shot twice with a 22 caliber pistol in the thigh but luckily it missed the femoral artery. I looked at his legs and noticed two small holes in the right thigh (he was laying on his back). I looked around the room and saw a pair of tongs, perfect! I grabbed them and went over to the patient. When I got a closer look at his leg I could see the bullet just about an inch under the skin and spread the whole a little bit with my fingers giving me enough room to fit the tongs in. Thank god I had gloves. There wasn't a lot of blood, however, at least not the amount I had expected. There was some but it wasn't all rushing out. It was like if you prick your finger to test your blood sugar or something, one drop every few seconds.

I reached in with the tongs which were more like what I had used in chemistry class than any surgical tongs I've ever seen. It was quite easy to grab the bullet, just like picking something out of jell-o, but the bullet wasn't deformed or anything. It was still perfectly intact, as if it had never been shot from a gun and just broken off of the cartridge. I dropped it in a little tin the nurse had been holding next to me and grabbed the other one which was a few inches below the first one. This came out just as nicely and in perfect shape as well. Having no clue how to stitch a wound I asked the nurse if she could. She nodded and grabbed a needle and this weird thread. She sewed up the wound in just a couple seconds and did so just like one would to a blanket.

Being finished with both TotM's I wondered what to do next. I didn't have any specific goals or anything and was out of ideas. I decided I would just walk around the hospital a little bit. I walked through the ER which still had a bunch of nurses running around as fast as they could in it, and headed towards the waiting room to see what the DCs in there were doing. The waiting room was just outside the ER and there were only a couple people in there, an elderly woman to looked a bit crazy, and kid about 12 years old with a pickaxe stuck in his shoulder. Yes, he had a full sized pickaxe stuck several inches into his shoulder. The woman pulled out a mouse from her pocket and started feeding it a little square of cheese that she now had. Wtf, my DCs are freaking weird!

I walked over to the person sitting behind the desk and asked what I should do next. "Well doctor," she said a little smugly. I guess I was the normal ER doctor there, "I think you should wake up." At first I was a bit confused, but then I started getting angry because my DCs and dream objects always did this to me. "Oh what the hell!?" I yelled at here, though the dream was fading. I tried spinning and spinning but I could hear her say, "Sorry, spinning doesn't work in times like this." Damn it, she was right.
I woke up. I did a quick RC to be sure this wasn't just a FA but I was indeed awake.

Jeez, my DCs are not only weirdos but also jerks!

    7. Winning the Olympic Gold in Ping Pong

      by , 08-13-2012 at 07:01 PM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
I haven't posted anything in my DJ here in a while so I figured I post this funny little dream I had last night.

I was in some sort of lounge which had a small coffee table surrounded by a half-dozen chairs which were quite comfortable. I was sitting in one of them along with my dad and various uncles. I looked over to my left and noticed a ping pong table with a small Chinese girl standing there with a paddle. She looked over at me and motioned me to come play against her. I decided why not and got up to go over there. Once I got to the table a referee appeared next to the table and handed me a paddle. He also gave the girl a ping pong ball which I didn't really mind.

It was about now that it suddenly hit me that this was the Olympics. Nothing changed scenery wise, we were still in the lounge with my family sitting in their chairs talking about something and smoking pipes (which they don't normally do ), but for some reason I just knew this was the Olympic and there was a lot of pressure on me since it was USA vs China. The little girl, about 8 years of age, bounced the ball on the table and prepared to serve. She hit it quite fast to the point where I couldn't even really see it. Somehow, though, I hit it back and it bounced off one of the corners of the table, score one for the US.

The game was to 21 and it was my turn to serve. I leaned over the table so that I was bouncing the ping pong ball right in front of the net and then served it as hard as I could. This happened to be a little too hard as it just missed the table giving China one point. The next thing I knew it was 8 to 5, US, and somebody was next to me; it was my partner. Apparently I got a teammate while the little girl had to play all by herself. I had no clue who this person was though, but I felt like he was my cousin despite the fact that I can't remember what he looked like or how he acted.

It went back and forth a little bit, nothing spectacular happening, just a typical game of ping pong only the ball seemed to go 10 times faster than any other game I had seen. The score was now 15 to 9 (or something similar) with the US still in the lead. I walked away from the table mid game and headed toward a large window which was in the back of the lounge. There was a cushion on the windowsill that seemed to act ad a couch. I sat down and looked back at the lounge. It was a fairly ornate room with a large fireplace next to all the chairs with a pair of bear arms hanging on the wall. There were some nice rugs spread throughout and various paintings and arts around the room.

After only a few seconds I went back to the ping pong table to find out that the score was now tied at 20; next point wins. How did this happen so quickly!? I was only gone for what seemed like 30 seconds and yet my partner somehow managed to give up a 6 point lead and brought the match to the final game. The small Chinese girl had the serve and hit it as hard as she could, just like earlier. My partner seemed to either disappear or just sit back behind me and let me finish because me and her just hit it back and forth for about 45 seconds.

At this point I decided to try and end it with a spike to the left corner of the table. I hit the ball as hard as I could and it managed to just clip the side of the table, giving us the point. My partner was suddenly next to me again and we cheered and high-fived. My family which was sitting to the side the entire time were all lightly clapping similar to a golf clap. The little Chinese girl was really sad and almost started crying but for some reason we didn't care. We didn't care that we just beat a little girl half our age, 2v1 at ping pong, we won the Olympic gold medal!
    8. Driving Down Desolate Roads and Drinking Magical Potions

      by , 07-03-2012 at 09:07 PM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
I was in the back seat of our car with my mom and dad who was driving. It was about dusk and we were driving alone a desolate road with nothing around it and it was completely flat. Up ahead I saw a hill and a dead tree on top of the hill off to the left. Right at the crest of the hill there was a car parked in the right hand lane of the road (the one we were driving in) and was facing towards us. It's lights were on but I couldn't see anyone inside it. We just passed it .

We continued driving along this road for another couple minutes in complete silence, nobody was talking. We eventually ended up stuck behind a tractor trailer going very slowly, about 20 mph. We moved into the other lane to pass him and started speeding up. When we were about halfway past the truck it moved over the left lane where we were and continued driving directly on top of us. The truck was high enough, however, that it never hit our car, despite it being a fairly large SUV. We continued driving beneath the truck as if nothing was strange or out of the ordinary and we eventually came up to a town. When we were about a half mile away from the town the truck disappeared

We entered the town and it was all on a hill going down into a river. The street we were on was winding a lot, like Lombard Street in San Francisco. We slowly wound down the hill and when we were only a short ways from the bottom of the hill and the shore of the river I had somehow appeared in my bathroom . I was just stepping out of the shower but I had all my clothes on. I walked over to the mirror and looked in it. I noticed the right eye in the mirror (my left eye in reality) started to drift off to the right, towards my nose. It was like I had a lazy eye that was growing progressively worse and worse by the second. It started turning very bloodshot and it really freaked me out.

I looked to my left so that the eye would go back to normal but it didn't work. I then used my finger and just pushed it back. This worked well but then a third eye appeared right over the bridge of my nose, but below my forehead. I noticed this was really strange and started questioning reality. I looked at my hands and noticed that each one had an extra finger.
I immediately became lucid and was pretty happy at my recent success. I quickly rubbed my hands to stabilize the dream and while doing so looked down at the sink/counter. I saw a bottle of Listerine and the TotM to drink a potion immediately popped into my head.

I turned around and expected the bottle to turn into a magical potion. When I looked back the bottle looked the same but the liquid inside turned form a reddish-purple to bright green. I picked it up and smelled it and it still smelled like Listerine and when I took a sip it tasted like it too. I took a fairly large gulp and waited for something to happen, not sure what would. Only a second after I drank the potion the dream started to fade. I immediately tried spinning but it didn't seem to work. After only a few seconds I
      woke up

Every time I do something which I don't know what the effects will be I end up waking up
    9. Badass, Mid-flight Fight

      by , 06-25-2012 at 12:28 AM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
Yay for MILD epicness! Finally ended my dry spell that I'd been having for some time

I was sitting in my living room watching some t.v. I looked out the back door and saw my dad mowing the lawn on the riding mower. I decided to go outside with the push mower and help him by trimming up around the fence/areas where the other mower can't reach. I started going around the fence and then went back behind the shed. I noticed some people hanging outside the back of my neighbor's house having what seemed like a party. As I came around our shed they all looked over at me then turned towards the driveway when they heard a loud thump. I did the same. I saw somebody in the car turning it on. The other guys started freaking out yelling, "He's stealing my car, yo! Stop him!" I reached into my pocket and grabbed my cell phone and dialed 911 while pulling it out. When I looked up I saw the person behind the wheel had a gun out and pointed it at me. He just shook his head.

He then drove away quickly and the other guys chased after him. Once he had looked away I continued on with the 911 call saying "Someone just stole my neighbor's car, I need a cop and an ambulance (lol?)." They didn't reply and I just hung up the phone. I started talking to the other guys and they told me their names. A couple of them sounded famous, I think rappers. I can't remember their names but for some reason I knew they were well known. I asked him a few questions about the car and was able to figure out that it was most likely a black Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The next thing I knew we were in my living room and they were all sitting on the couch (there were 3 of them in total). The one on the left was just staring out the window at a car parked in the street. The one in the middle was looking over at the third guy who was calling someone on his phone and seemed really stressed out. I was sitting in the family room along with my dad, I was on the couch and he was in the armchair. I looked out the window to see who the one guy was looking at and noticed a large black SUV, I think it was a jeep. It didn't occur to me that this could be the guy's stolen car so I just continued staring at it for some reason.

After a couple seconds I noticed a girl get out of the car. She looked very professional but had a very short miniskirt on. She came up to the door and rang the doorbell. I got up to get it and when I opened the door I acted as if I knew her. "The 911 response?" I asked her. "You got it." She replied. I let her in and we walked through the living room and into the dining room. Once we were in there I started asking her about the car. I can't remember the conversation up until a point where she said "It's warm in here, let's make it hotter." She tried to make a move on me! Luckily I realized that this was unusual and did a RC while she was kissing me (lol). I looked over at the clock and it said 7:84. Okay, most likely a dream, but to be sure I looked away then looked back. The second time it said "Dream bro, lawl" That settles it, this was a dream.
Best way to get lucid ever.

Now knowing that it was just a dream I pushed the girl away. "Sorry, I don't want to do this right now." She showed no emotion and just walked away. I started to think about what it was I wanted to do and nearly forgot to stabilize. My vision started getting a bit fuzzy so I quickly rubbed my hands. I focused on all my surroundings from the color of the walls to the smell of the room in general. Smelled like a bunch of food. I remember that while falling asleep I had been doing a MILD which basically consisted of me telling myself to LD and to use wings (I had been watching a lot of videos in which people have wings and it made me want to try it). I decided to try having a mid air fight while still controlling myself using wings instead of just levitating/using nothing but dream powers.

I told the guys on the couch "You're car's out in the street" and they all ran out there relieved to find that their car was sitting right there. I didn't even think about the car just being there I just said it. For all I know they were just acting xD. I walked out the back door and rolled my shoulders forward focusing on wings sprouting from my back. I didn't feel anything in my back but I did feel my shirt get tight and then it seemed like the back of it ripped. I looked to my sides and noticed two wings each about 7 or 8 feet long (so a 14-16ft wingspan) and they were a dark orange and red color. I actually reminded me of my avatar on DV.

I tried moving them and it somehow came very natural to me. It was almost as if I was moving my shoulders forward and backward but my shoulders were staying perfectly still, it was the wings that were moving. I knelt down a little bit to get a good take off angle and started flapping them. I didn't do it very hard at all and I quickly shot up into the air about 100 feet. The feeling was awesome, just hovering there. It was almost like hanging from a harness but without any weight on your chest, just a dangling feeling. I soared off towards the woods behind my house and tried seeing how fast I could go. It seemed as though I had no speed limit and could go as fast as I wanted. I tried to various aerial maneuvers like spinning and diving. Diving was the greatest experience ever. I would go up to about what seemed like a few miles, above the clouds that were around me, and just stopped flapping all together and looked straight down.

Once I was about 500 feet from the ground I extended my wings and angled them to make me flatten out. I thought it would be a lot of pressure/stress on my back but it wasn't, surprisingly. It felt as if somebody was giving you a back message in terms of pressure, it didn't really feel good but it didn't hurt either. I thought it was about time I tried doing what I actually had decided to do, and that was to fight. I started going in one direction and imagined somebody behind me, a character from an anime I had recently been watching. I quickly changed the direction I was facing which was a little sketchy given that I continued to go in the same direction for a few seconds only backwards.

When I turned around I saw him floating there with his own wings, more black and thin than mine which were feathery and orange/red. His looked more like bat wings (will post a picture of him) and he was dressed in an all black suit. I yelled at him, "Come on, let's see what you've got!" At this point we were about 300 feet apart and I could see him snicker. He shot straight at me and tried to cut me with some sort of shadowy blade, only it wasn't solid. It was as if he formed it out of the shadows themselves. I pitched right and dodged his attack by a fair margin but it was still a little close for comfort. He was flying very quickly and closed that 300 feet distance in about 2 seconds.

I spun around to face him again and saw him circling back for another move. I waited for him to get close and tried to counter his attack. At this point it seemed like time slowed down (a common occurrence in my fight scenes) and I moved to the left of his attack while at the same time slamming my elbow down on his back right between his wings. He dropped down about 20 feet but quickly regained equilibrium. Before he could completely compose himself I dove down from where I was and grabbed him by the neck. I put him in a choke hold which cause him to be unable to flap his wings/fly. I found out that it's not easy to hold up two people while trying to fly.

He was trying his hardest to get out of the choke hold and I was managing to keep him in it, but he was starting to loosen my grip. I decided to dive straight down from where we were (about 250 feet) right towards a pool. Right as we got close to the pool I tried to pull up from the dive. I extended my wings as much as I could trying to get some lift. We were about 10 feet above the pool and time started to slow again. I decided to just let go of him and tried to just save myself. I was still going down at about a 20 degree angle so I was unable to save myself completely but I managed to spin around so that I was facing the pool. I was able to see him crash into the water but only a split second afterwards I hit some sort of building. Despite the fact that I hit it with my legs I was still going very fast (not sure how fast but the dive only took a second or two) and the force of the impact unfortunately caused me to
      wake up.

Pretty epic way to end a dry spell if you ask me

    10. Poolside Shootout

      by , 06-07-2012 at 09:06 PM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
I was inside a pool outside some sort of hotel. It was a modern hotel much like a holiday inn or something similar but much nicer. I got out of the pool and started walking towards the hotel and up a flight of about 12 stairs. There was a lot of landscaping around the pool and the back of the hotel, mainly flowers, some yellow and red, a few purple. I noticed my friend was leaning up against the wall and I waved to him, saying "hi." At this time I looked over to my left and noticed a large plane landing in the grass. A ton of people started rushing out of the plane all with guns and full body armor. They looked like SWAT or some type of secret service. I grabbed a gun out of nowhere and started shooting. It was some type of sub-machine gun which never seem to run out of ammo.

Then, my friend got a shield of some sort and kneeled down in front of my to provide cover. I didn't stand behind him and just stood there shooting at the guys. I was consistently getting hits but they just kept coming out of the plane. They began to shoot back with full force but weren't very good shots. They all seemed to miss by just a few inched, I could see the bullet trail going over my shoulders and head. I decided it was getting a little close for comfort so I rolled back behind my friend and kneeled down on one knee and took aim. I started shooting them all and was getting a pretty good kill rate going. However, it was about here that the dream begun to fade very quickly and before I knew it
I was lying in my bed.

    11. Asian style hotels, Broken Snowboards and "Candy Rooms"

      by , 03-02-2012 at 03:19 AM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
I haven't logged anything in my online DJ so I figured it was about time

I was in some large, Asian-themed, hotel type building. There were a lot of beds spread around the rooms and they were all just mattresses on the floor, some with short legs but others with none at all. I was walking around the rooms which were separated by thin, wood walls with a distinct Asian style to them. There were sliding doors on either side of the walls and they were held open the entire time. There were a few people in the beds but more were empty than filled. I walked through one of the doorways and into the next room which was filled with my friends from our local ski/snowboard club. I leaned over to one of the beds and picked up my snowboard. I looked at the base and noticed there were a lot of scratches and dings in it but nothing major.

Then I looked at the tip which was completely disfigured. It was completely bent and torn to all hell, completely unrepairable. I looked at it a little disgruntled but figured I could fix it. I grabbed the tip and started bending it back and forth to try and get rid of some of the dings. Even though it was completely ruined I was convinced I could fix it so I kept bending it and eventually it got almost straight and flat but was still rather wavy. I figured it was good enough and set the board down and got in one of the beds. I fell asleep

I was in a mall-type structure with a large amount of other people. After walking through it for a minute I was certain is was indeed a shopping mall. I had overheard some other people talking about a "candy room" which piqued my interest. I started to walk around the top floor (2nd) of the mall looking in all the shops and stores looking for this "candy room." I'm not normally a huge fan of candy and prefer chocolate over it anyway, but this really got me interested for some reason. I made a complete circle on the second floor and, after not finding anything, went back down to the first floor using one of the elevators. Once there I got out and turned to the left and ended up sitting on a bench outside what seemed like a salon. It reminded me of a haircut place combined with bed bath & beyond.

I looked at the entrance from the bench and noticed a fair amount of children coming out, most around the age of 12 or so and they all seemed intoxicated. They were leaning on each other, talking and laughing, slurring their words, and nearly falling over. I believed this to be the doing of the candy and got up walking into the store. In the back I saw another kid walk towards a hallway with a mirror at the end. I followed him and once I got to the back of the store by the mirror I noticed it was a hall of mirrors. I could see the kid running through each mirror but it was rather dark and hard to make out details. There was an opening to the left and I walked through it only to be stopped the little kid. He gave me a funny look and just walked past me and out of the store.

I continued through the hall of mirrors and it seemed to be a straight hallway with no corners or anything. When I got to the end I turned to the left and noticed a stairway. I went up the stairs and they ended in a small room with translucent windows looking out into the rest of the mall. There was my friend Bruce sitting on a couch around a table along with another kid whom I did not recognize. There was a small end table in the middle with a box of chocolates on it. Bruce and the other kid were occasionally taking one and eating it, talking about something I could not hear. I walked over to them and Bruce greeted me warmly while the other kid just sat there looking at me, but not giving me any mean look.

I sat down and after a minute or so an older person came in through the door right next to the windows. He looked to be about 30 and had a 5 O'clock shadow despite it being only about noon. He came in and handed a packet of papers to the other kid I did not know. He proceeded to give us some sort of ultimatum but I can't remember any of what he said.

The next thing I knew I was on the stage in our school auditorium with the entire cast of the musical currently in production at our school (I play in the pit). My friend Bryce (not Bruce) was there as well as many others, about 40, and we were all facing the audience as if we had just finished a show with people bowing and whatnot, but there was nobody in the audience. I then noticed the same end table in the middle of the stage with a pizza box on it. I walked over to it and opened the box only to find a fresh pepperoni pizza in it! I grabbed a piece and took a bite. Not bad! I turned to Bryce and told him he should get some. I turned around to look at the box again and he grabbed a piece though there were 3-4 pieces missing but I didn't really care about it.
My recall kind of sputtered out here and I'm not sure if the dream ended or I just forgot the rest but I definitely don't remember anything else
    12. Possible Shared Dream and the TotY

      by , 02-10-2012 at 07:07 PM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
(This entry was actually this morning, the last one was from two nights ago but I wasn't able to get on my computer yesterday)

I was in a classroom of some sort which I couldn't recognize as any I had ever been in before. It did look like one I had seen on t.v. though, but I wasn't sure from where. I was sitting in a desk in the front left corner right by the door and there were about 15 other people in there with me. My history teacher walked in and set his stuff down on the table in front of the class. He looked at me and said, "Do you have your wings?" I didn't know what he was talking about but I instantly got up and ran out of the classroom. I burst through the door and ended up in a narrow corridor which was high above the ground. It didn't have walls or anything, just guard rails. I looked over the edge and could see that I was about 30 feet in the air.

I ran down this path and at the end there was a small, sqaure room with an opening on the right. I turned and jumped right off the edge which at this point was only about 8 feet. This brief section of the dream turned into a fixed view point from about 20 feet in front of the room which I had just jumped out of and was facing me. I saw myself round the corner and jump off, then continue on off to the right. The dream then returned to a first person point of view and I continued to run through this strange complex. It resembled a plant store, like the gardening section of home depot, with some parts outside and others indoors.

I ran into the building again and turned right into another hallway but this one was completely enclosed. I ran down the hallway and got to the end which was just a dead end with a small rope. I was on the second floor again somehow. I looked over the edge of the rope and could see a small cliff drop off into a rain forest type landscape. Off in the distance it looked like a hawaiin rain forest which are very mountainous. I turned around and dashed back down the hall. About halfway through I saw an opening on the left and dashed through it. This led me to another outdoor area which was filled with various plants and tables. There was a middle-age women standing there and turned at me saying, "You haven't gotten your wings yet?"

I still had no clue what she was saying and ran around to one of the tables. I looked on it and saw two metal cups/bowls. They resembled a harmon mute for a trumpet. I grabbed two of them and went over to the end of another table. I took one of them and started to tear it up into little pieces. I spread those pieces on the table and when I put them down they all proceeded to melt. The liquid covered the end of the table and for some reason I felt like I had accomplished what I wanted to. I turned to my left and did the same thing only to a wall which had seperated this side from the other side I had ran through. For some reason I got very suspicious of things and preformed a couple RCs.
They all passed! I was in another dream .

I quickly calmed down and rubbed my hands together to stabalize it. There were a ton of kids running in, all about late teens in age, and I recognized a few of them. One of them who I had previously mentioned lucid dreaming to, walked over to me. "Hey burke," She said. I grabbed her shoulders and looked into her eyes, "Liz, calm down, don't get too excited, but we're in a dream right now." Her eyes got really big and she gave me a funny look as if she was saying are you joking. I told her to follow me and we crouched around the tables and gathered with the crowd. We were all surrounding this middle aged women who had a top hat in her hands. "Okay, lets see who won their wings!" She said. It must be some sort of raffle!

She reached in to pull a piece of paper out and ended up pulling a large card out which was about 10x20 inches. She looked at it and smiled, then turned it around to show us. All it said was "You Won." I felt excited for some reason and just tried to calm down. Then, the TotY popped into my head. I only needed one more: Titanic. I turned to my friend and asked her, "Is it alright if I head out now?" She gave me another funny look and said, "Yeah sure, see ya." I imagined being on the deck of the Titanic right as it was about to hit the iceberg. "Bye," I told her, waving my left hand and snapped my right. In an instant I was on the titanic but in the back of it, not the front where I had wanted .

I was walking around along the edge of the ship when there was a very loud bang, accompanied by the ship shaking violently. I figured this had to be the iceberg. I ran around to the bow and could see eveyrbody on the deck panicking and running towards the life boats. Just like I had learned in history class the boats were being deployed with only about half occupency. I got to the very tip of the boat where the famous scene from the movie had occured. (You know, "I'm king of the world!") Right as I got to the railing I heard a veyr loud creaking sound like metal being forcefully bent. The nose slowly started to rise up into the air and I looked back. I could see the ship tearing in half just like in the movie.

I climbed over the railing and got on the very tip of it and planted my feet on the railing which had become the ground. Everybody who was on the ship and didn't make it into a lifeboat was falling into the water. The half of the boat that I was on was slowly making it's way down to the botton of the sea and about a couple feet a second. At this rate it was taking some time for the ship to go down but I remembered I had to "experience" the sinking so I just waited it out. I looked around and could see the various people in the lifeboats and a lot of people clinging to wreckage in the water. After a good 2-3 minutes of slowly sinking the ship was finally about to go completely under.

I climbed up as high as I could until I was at the very highest point of the ship and the water was coming up faster then I had thought. My feet dipped into the water and wow, it was cold! I jumped up out of the water and just levitated a few feet above the surface but not before the water had gotten up to my waist. Wow, it was seriously cold. I felt bad for those people . I felt very satisfied, knowing that I had completed the TotY and figured I could have my own little celebration. I snapped my fingers and teleported myself to a room with a large bed. I proceeded to have quite some fun with a few pretty ladies (thanks sexy hawt females thread ). I'll leave the details to your imagination.

I talked to the person in my dream whom I had told was dreaming about what had happened and asked her if she remember any of her dreams. She said yes and I then asked her if any of them involved me. She said she didn't think so but she wasn't sure. It could've been a shared dream but I'm not 100% sure.

EDIT: I get it now! My "wings" from the non-lucid part were for completeing the TotY

I was standing in some type of room next to a table holding my new ipod (nano). I was just flicking through it looking at stuff when a large crack suddenly appeared. I tried to slide the page again despite the crack but the glass of the cover just brushed off in a hundred little pieces. Beneath the screen was just a dull gray square

Dream 2: I also remember a dream in which people were telling me that I have nice teeth

Dream 3: I was in some sort of hotel room which was very small while half-lucid (aware but not in control) There was a small closet to the right of the door, a large air matress for a bed, and a small desk in the corner with a computer on it. I just sat on the air matress over the cuvers and leaned my back up against the wall. Suddenly, there was a loud commotion outside the door and about a half doezen people burst into my room. I knew some of them but there were 3 I didn't recognize. The few I knew waved at me in a "join us" motion as if they wanted me to help. Then, everybody just burst into a fight.

I jumped right up just as one of them tackled me. We were fighting without any weapons and unfortunately I couldn't remember much of the details. At one point he had gotten behind me and I snapped my fingers/teleported behind him and kicked him in the back. The next thing I knew we were on the ground and I had a hammer in my hand trying to hit him on the head. He had his back up against the wall and fell down to a sitting position. I slowly moved towards him and he put his hand behind his back, pulling out a machine gun! It looked like a tommy gun but I'm not completely sure. He told me to get back and drop the hammer. I took a few steps back but I refused to let go of the hammer.

Then, one of my friends lept behind him and tackled him to the ground, knocking the gun out of his hand. I jumped at him, swinging the hammer down right on his face. Right as I was about to hit him I was teleported into my school band room somehow.
I had no memory of what had happened, I believe I lost lucidity. I was sitting in a seat with a bunch of other kids with me. Then, somebody game in through the back doors with a large metal object, what looked like supports. He set them down right next to the podium and went back outside. He made several more trips and kept bringing in more stuff. After a couple minutes he had everything inside and assembled it.

When it was finally built it looked like some sort of cannon. The top part started rotating back and forth and the person who had built it was just standing there laughing. Suddenly, the cannon fired and a massive metal ball flew out and hit one of the kids, killing him instantly. Nobody else seemed to notice and just carried on with their individual conversations. The cannon continued to fire and kids were falling left and right. Suddenly,
I became lucid but I did not have very much control, similar to the first part of the dream but I did have some. For some reason this scene really freaked me out and I tried to wake myself up. I closed my eyes tight and opened them as hard and fast as I could but I was still in the dream. I then tried imagining my self falling back into my bed. I closed my eyes and pushed myself back and could feel myself falling though it was very slow, like sinking into water with some weights.

After a few seconds of this wierd sensation I had a false awakening into another dream,
but I wasn't lucid. This time, I was still in the band room and there was still a bunch of people, but there was no cannon. A different person came in through the back doors carrying a large rope and made a couple more trips just like the person before him. He assembled it in only a few seconds and this one ended up being a guilotine! He took out a remote and pressed a button on it. The guilloting, which was really just a large axe hanging from the ceiling, sung back and then sped forward. It hit a person only 2 seats to the right of me and sliced right through his head. His head just sort of peeled open very slowly and it looked like a red glob inside.

This bumped me into another semi-lucid state and I, for some reason, only wanted to wake up. I shut my eyes as tight as I could and opened them with as much force as I could imagining myself waking up. This time it worked the first time and I woke up, but it was yet another false awakening. It was just like last time onlt this time I didn't lose lucidity and I had complete control now. Another person walked in through the door and I decided to wait and see what this person would do. He pulled out a small note book and wrote a couple words down in it, but I couldn't see it. I got up from my seat and walked towards the back room right where this new person was standing.

As I walked past him I looked closer at his note book. I realized that he was using the note book from the anime "Death Note" and had written somebody's name in it. I didn't recognize the name and when I looked up at this person he gave me a puzzled look like he didn't know my name. Lucky me . Finally and idea popped into my head for the TotY. I had two left, the Titanic and Sputnik. I decided to save the Titanic for last since I figured that would be an interesting way to finish this. I walked towards one of the back rooms and thought to myself, "When I walk through this door I will be at Sputnik." I opened the door and could see the base of a rocket shit of sorts but it looked a little wierd. I didn't think much of it and just thought it was because it was russian.

I stepped through the door and walked towards the space shuttle. I could hear a voice off in the distance coming from a loudspeaker talking in what I presume was russian, or at least what my mind though russian sounded like. He said a new word about every second so I figured it was the countdown for launch. I ran up to the shuttle and jumped up as high as I could which was perfect for getting on the sattelite. There was a little outcrop on the shuttle right beneath sputnik itself so I landed on that. I stood on this little ledge until the countdown had stopped and the bottom of the rockets ignited. The shuttle slowly lifted up into the air and it gained more and more speed. Unlike in my last space dream there was no force in this one pulling me down from the acceleration.

I just stood on this ledge holding on to the sattelite while we flew up into space. After a minute or so the main body of the shuttle had fallen off and it was now just me and sputnik. Suddenly, my feet started to float up off this ledge I was on and I figured I was in space. Sweet, got one down and now there just one left, the Titanic. I looked around and could see the earth right below me, not nearly as small as it was from the moon, but still not that large. I looked up and could see countless stars and various planets and also an asteroid. The asteroid gave me the idea of dive-bombing to the earth into the ocean to finish the last task.

And took a small step back and rubbed my hands together for a little extra stability. I took one step forward and just leaped off the edge. For some reason, at this moment gravity kicked back in and I started to fall down to the earth. I always wanted to go sky diving so I figured this would be pretty close. I dove straight down, head first, and tried to go as fast as possible. Man this was a hell of a lot of fun! After about 30 seconds my head started to get a little warm. I looked up (or down, in this case) and everything had a reddish tint to it; I figured I must be on fire! I must look awesome doing this . I put my head back down and just tried to go as fast as possible. After only about 10 more seconds I looked up and could see North America. I tried to picture it in the 1910's for the task and looked in the north atlantic where the titanic had hit the iceberg.

I was probably about 20 miles above the surface now and could easily make out cape cod and long island. I looked just north of there to where I remembered the ship had sunk. It only took about 5 seconds for me to get a mile or two above the ground and I opened myself up trying to slow down. I kept thinking "brake, brake, brake!" to slow myself down. I could see a large ship on the water which I assumed was the titanic. I was slowing down a little bit but not enough. Only a few seconds after I had tried to slow down I smashed into the water going extremely fast. I pretty much did the biggest belly-flop ever. The force was so great that I
woke up. Damn, I wanted to get two done in one night. I looked over at my clock and could see that it was 5:09, I still had a little over an hour.

Unfortunately I didn't remember anymore dreams that night
    14. Old Fashioned Televisions, Big Bands, and the TotY

      by , 02-08-2012 at 04:13 AM (Burke's Nightly Escapades)
I was sitting on my bed in my room and it was dark outside yet light in my room. I got up and walked out the door into the bathroom. I looked at the clock and it said that it was 6:30AM, right on time that I normally wake up. I turned on the shower and brushed my teeth while waiting for the water to heat up. Once it was warm I got in and went through my usual shower, nothing out of the ordinary. I got out of the shower and when I stepped on the ground I slipped and hit my head right on the ground. I had forgotten to put the mat down . My head didn't hurt at all and I got right up as if nothing had happened. I continued on with my morning as usual. I walked down the stairs and it led right into the gym locker room at out school

I walked outside the locker room into the gym where my classmates were playing this game called jugball. It's a game in which you have to get a tennis ball to your "goalie" on the opposite side of the gym using milk jugs with the bottom cut off (you can't run). Anyway, when I had walked out I grabbed a jug and got right into the action. I casually walked down to the end of the gym and saw two of my friends just standing there, not doing anything. "Hey guys, having fun?" I asked in a casual, sarcastic way. "Tons," they replied, equally as sarcastic. I turned around to look at the other side of the gym where the ball had gone and saw one of the more sports-oriented kids down there getting the ball. I turned around, looked at me and chucked it as hard as he could
(this part actually happened a few days ago)

The ball flew at me and I quickly moved my hand over my stomach to stop the ball and actually ended up catching it!
(This happened too only it just bounced off my hand, I didn't catch it ) For some reason, this made me start to question whether or not I was awake. I looked around more carefully and didn't see anything wrong with the dream. All my friends looked normal and there were no irregularities. I looked down at my hands and noticed nothing was wrong with them, all 10 fingers and no differences. "Hey, Burke, pass it over here!" One of my friends yelled. I tossed it over and proceeded to do a nose-plug RC. To my surprise, It worked! I was lucid! Quite an interesting way to get lucid .

I hadn't had a lucid in a while so I didn't want to waste this one. I thought of what to do and decided I would do the TotY. The first one that came to mind was the first television broadcast so I imagined a room back in the ealy 1900s and a small T.V. sitting in the corner. I snapped my fingers and I was brought to a small room where everything was in black and white, except me. The room was completely empty, no doors or anything except for one small end table with a modern-day t.v. on it, only it as really small about 6 inches across. I walked over to it (the room was only like 10' by 10') and there was one knob on the side. I turned it towards the part that said "on" and waited for something to happen.

I stared at the screen and could see a very static-y screen like when you don't have a signal. I waited for about 10 seconds for something to happen and after nothing did, I looked around the t.v. for an answer to my problems. Coming out of the back of the t.v. was a power cord but it only had one prong, similar to an auxiliary cable. I looked around the room again and tried to find an outlet but there was nothing to be seen. I figured I could just summon one so I turned around and thought to myself, "when I turn around, there will be an outlet for this thing right behind it." When I turned around there was indeed an outlet, but it was a modern day, 3-pronged one. This wouldn't work but I figured I might as well try. I stuck the jack into the round hole where the 3rd prong would normall go.

It fit right in and there a couple sparks but no flames or anything. I looked at the t.v. screen and it was now a faint blue, almost gray, color. I reached behind the t.v. expecting there to be a remote and there was! Man, I'm really getting the hang of summoning stuff . The remote only had a few buttons: power, channel, and menu. I clicked the channel one and saw the screen change to a faint green and a small number appeared in the corner saying "02." It makes sense since the first one would've been one, and this one was two. I continued to flip through the channels but there was nothing broadcasting, only various colors, some brighter than others while a few were so faded they almost were just a shade.

Around channel 8 when the t.v. had turned to a faint red, almost pink, color I noticed that the room had changed color too, the same color as the screen. I turned it back to 7, which was a deep purple, and the room changed accordingly. Getting a little frustrated I just yelled at the t.v. "Just show me a damn show!" I waited a second and after a brief moment the screen started to flicker. On the screen a group of people started to form with what looked like big blocks of wood in from of them. After another few seconds I saw that is was a band! A stereotypical big band from the 1920s and 1930s. There was about 20 of them in total and on the front of their music stands I saw a circle with some sort of letters around it and a clarinet lilted to the side in the middle.

The entire broadcast was in black and white and thus the room changed accordingly. The conductor up in from raised his hands and all the musicians raised their instruments. I started to waive his hands and all the players took a big breath. I could tell they were playing some sort of music but, this being the first t.v, there was no sound. What's the point of a concer on t.v. if there's no sound? I was a little disappointed and wanted to hear what they were saying so I decided to try something new. I walked up to the t.v. and kicked it with my left foot. As I had expected, my leg went right through the screen but it didn't break it, my leg actually went through the screen and into the scene that had been filmed. I squeezed the wrest of my body through and ended up in some sort of concert hall with a large dance floor and tables surrounding it.

Once there I could hear some music and it seemed very familiar. I looked around and could see a lot of people in the room, some dancing, talking, and others just sitting at the tables eating some food. I walked over to one of them and asked what song this was. They responded in a stereotypical New Yorker accent which I found rather humorous saying, "Eh? Oh yeah, thems guys. They's the Glen Miller Band or sometin' with this new fangled doo-hickey called 'jazz.' It's not too bad. I actually like it, personally and it seems like a lot of others do to. So, whad'ya say? You wanna dance or somethin'?" Wow, he had a really heavy accent but it amused me nonetheless. "No, that's not what I asked. What is the name of this song?" I asked him again. "The song? Uh... I ain't got a clue, but that Firo ova there, he knows what new and fancy and whatnot." He pointed to a younger person, probably about 16 with a brown suit and tan fedora on. "Thanks." I told him.

I walked over to this kid and tapped him on the shoulder. He immediately spun around and tried to hit me in the face! I quickly ducked down to avoid it. "What the hell'd ya do that for!?" I yelled at him. "You're pretty quick." he said, "I don't see many people with moves like that. What's ya name?" He had a slightly less pronounced accent but it was still noticible. "I'm Burke," I told him. "This man over there said that this guy named Firo knew what this song was called. Is that you? Do you know?" I asked him. "Yea, I'm him, and this song here these guys is playin's called 'In the Mood' or somethin'. It's not bad, I like it." He told me. Ah-ha! That's what it was! We had played this in our local jazz bad a couple years ago. It's actually a pretty good song.

"Now, since I did somethin' for you, you gotta do somethin' for me." He said suddenly. "What's that you want?" I asked him. He smirked and brought his fist back as if he was about to punch something. "Ye see, I'm kinda a jerk, so I just want one thing. I want you... to wake up!" He quickly brought his fist forward and it slammed right into my face. It pushed me back a few feet and I could feel the dream start to fade, but it didn't immediately wake me up. The dream was very unstable though so I quickly rubbed my hands together and focused on my surroundings. The band had changed songs! I dind't recognize this new song but I wasn't really very curious. "Ya quite the sturdy one," He told me, "But I ain't never not woken someone up before when I say I'm gonna!" In an instant,
I was lying in my bed, eyes open, completely awake. Damn. Did he really wake me up or was it just time for the dream to end?

Oh well, I got part of the TotY done and had a dream which had quite a few real-life elements in it. A "sport" we played in gym class, music by a band I knew, and a character from an anime I had recently watched (Firo from Baccano!). Not a bad dream

I woke up this morning to no recall, only to look through my DJ and see this scribbled down:

Went through some obstacle course, sitting a bench in gym hallway (school) talking to some kid asking what my powers are. "I'm really fast and strong and I can turn into a vampire and be even faster and stronger" I told him.

lol... I don't remember writing that I think the vampire thing is from reading the Rosario+Vampire Manga these past couple days
