    False Awakening

    1. kids in stairwell, leg levitation, lucid wall-cross fail

      by , 11-20-2010 at 12:35 PM
Good morning everybody. I remember three really short dreams from last night. They were all from after 2 AM. I had coffee last night and couldn't fall asleep until 2 AM.

The third dream was pretty much all lucid, even though it was short.

      Dream #1

I walked through some room toward a staircase. The staircase was just past a doorway and was part of some slightly larger hallway, like for a small apartment building.

The room I was in was something like a mix between a living room and a small apartment lobby.

I had to maneuver a little bit past some kids who were rough housing with each other right in front of the doorway to the hallway. There were boys and girls, probably in their early teens or just a little younger. Their parents stood nearby. I thought the kids were funny, and they looked like they were having fun.

I wallked into the hallway and turned toward the staircase. A group of kids ran just in front of me, blocking me from the staircase. The began wrestling and rough housing with each other. I thought they were pretty funny. I just waited for their rough housing to pass.

But then I remembered that the parents were in the doorway, watching the kids. I thought that the parents would think I was weird for hanging around and watching the kids. I decided to get moving. I tried to edge past the kids. It was really difficult, because there were so many kids, and the hallway was so small.

      Dream #2

I was in "my bed," in "my bedroom," which was a lot like my bedroom in waking life, except messy. My lights were on.

I was laying face-down on my bed. I was thinking bad thoughts about God. For some reason, I was really angry at God. The more I cursed him, the more amusing I found the activity.

Eventually my legs began levitating off the bed. I wasn't controlling it, but I thought I might be able to. My legs lifted higher and higher until my body was almost perpendicular to the bed, with my head on the bed.

At some point, I noticed little specks of dirt or something black all over my bed. There were also hairs or cotton fibers, also colored black, all over my bed.

I started trying to blow all the dust and dirt and hair off my bed. Some of it would blow away. But there was so much. I wondered how I could have let my bed get so dirty.

      Dream #3

I was in "my bedroom" at night. I was crouched down on the floor, possibly naked, with my knees to my chest. The bedroom lights were off, but I could see by the purplish evening light.

I told myself that this wasn't actually my bedroom. That seemed pretty obvious. I told myself I was dreaming.

As soon as I told myself this, I had a false awakening and sat up on "my bed." But I was still lucid.

I stood out of the bed and told myself to remain calm. I figured I would walk out of the house and see what was around. The house seemed like a suburban house.

I was heading for the front door. But suddenly I thought, Why should I exit through the door? If I'm in a dream, I should be able to leave the house any way I want.

So I decided to walk through a wall. I turned right, into another room, possibly another bedroom. I walked straight up to the wall, which had a window on it that started at about my chest.

I thought I might climb up onto the windowsill and walk through the window. But I figured I didn't need to go throgh the trouble. Walking through a wall and walking through a window were basically the same thing.

I began to walk through the wall. It seemed pretty easy. But suddenly I saw a bright light. I felt like something was resisting. I got kind of mad, and I pushed really hard through the resistance.

I'm pretty sure I lost lucidity at this point. I fell past the wall and fell a couple stories down to the ground. I think that as I fell, I was telling myself, Oh well, I guess I woke up from that dream.

I sat up. It was daytime. I "had awoken from my dream." To my right was a red brick wall. To my left was a beach, possibly like Coney Island. The sky was deep blue and the light was dim, almost as if I were looking at an old film.

I had a false awakening about an hour ago, I was next to my girlfriend and thought I heard her talking to me and I was trying to tell her to wake me up, but she said I was just laying there mumbling in my sleep and then jerked awake. lol.
I had a few dream fragments though over the last day or 2. One with with an x, won't go into details , and the other was with an old friend. I seem to feel things in dreams that I can never feel in real life, I feel this kind of peace with my environment. Another one was I was in a huge downtown building like the one in Inception, and I was walking with my girlfriend. The one after that I was swimming in this cold water (I had the window open), and I was trying to navigate around an old ghost ship. I picked a huge tarantula from the water, and realized it might still be alive so I squished it in my hand, and then woke up.
I have a lot of short dreams at my girlfriends, I can never stay asleep there, i've had 2 false awakenings in the last 2 days there.
    3. #168. Exploding Bridges

by , 11-19-2010 at 08:55 AM (Things to Run Away From Really Fast)
      ★★★☆☆

...because burning them just isn't dramatic enough.

      11/18/10

A sleek metal bridge extends over the choppy sea. I stand near the center, unable to see the shores on either side, obscured as they are by mist. Rain lashes out in sheets and the wind impedes my movement - block, parry, slash - as I slice through an imperial guard with my lightsaber.

Something is speeding towards me, about to impact. I catch the missile with Force Grip, send it spinning into an enemy tank. There's a bridge running parallel to this one, and stormtroopers are setting up missile launchers on the edge. They fire -

A wave of my hand sends them careening back into the shooters.

A spider-like droid, twice my height, uses the distraction to scuttle towards me, using its legs as blades. I dodge, jump over the droid and land a glancing blow to its head. Its head swivels towards me as it prepares for another run.

A purge trooper takes a swipe at me. It misses, barely, and I go on the offensive with a flurry of lightsaber strikes. Seconds later, it collapses to the ground, spent.

I keep a wary eye on the spider droid, but it's smarter to take out the smaller enemies first.

...and I'm skating down a barely frozen river. I'm on skis, I'm on a toboggan, I'm holding on to some sort of ski lift as it takes me up, no, down the river.

And I'm stealing some sort of precious coffee grounds. Or beans. One big pile, holding together only because it doesn't occur to me that they shouldn't.

And I'm running through a house, up stairs and through hallways and secret passages.

This room, says a voice, my voice, Was created by my father as a haven for me. No one else can enter it. And I'm laying down behind the couch so that no one can see me through the window in the door.

And then I'm me, for just a moment. I look at the door and I smirk, knowing that the family that's following me will find me, only because that's what I'm expecting. I don't care. It's a dream, and not a particularly awful one. I just want to rest and not think and play through whatever game my subconscious is dreaming up...

I wake up to the family pounding on the door, yelling. I pick myself up from the ugly, floral brown couch and pad across the room. I open a closet door methodically, pull a gun from the rack.

I'm standing in front of the door, holding a crossbow at the ready, pointing through the window. The banging has stopped, and the father asks me if I'm really going to shoot his son.

Everything's all right. The gun's not even loaded.

      Exploding Bridges. Scare Factor: 2/10

As an interesting aside, I have not played the game that the picture is from. Before today, I have not seen any pictures or previews, so you can imagine my surprise when I come across an actual spider-like droid from Force Unleashed II, which the dream was based on.

      Granted, mine had more legs.
    4. Forgotten lucid and FA

by , 11-18-2010 at 09:10 PM (Dreaming on my feet)
Okay. I'm gonna sit at this computer and record these dreams! I feel like the computer drains me of vital energy, and feel reluctant to stay at it.

      11.04.10
      Type: Lucid, fragment
      Vividness: 10/10
      Lucidity: 7/10

Had a lucid dream but forgot it once I woke up! first time that has happened to me, and I get the feeling that it was the greatest lucidity I have attained so far in the dream. Near the end I recalled an incredibly vivid scene recall of skateboarding on the roof of a large school building with some other people, brick, sunny day, in some sort of small city scape, one massive tree in the front yard and some sidewalks.. Headed around the roof shaped like a large L and made way to a glass roofed sloped section of the roof, where I heard DC down on the street below talking about gangs in the school, then I feel the dream fading so I spin with my eyes closed, slowly and completely, with the only sensation I was experiencing of my body slowly and powerfully spinning. I think to myself "my bedroom, my bedroom" and opening my eyes find myself lying in my bed!

I do a nose RC and it is successful, FA! So I go to get up, propped up on my arms, but I focus on the muscular activity of pulling myself up too much and experience and a very intense pain/spasm in my right shoulder, and I remember that my physical body is lying down with my arms back behind my head since it was a WILD attempt/induction, and I can't shake off the pain since my physical body probably used a combination of muscles which put strain on the shoulder trying to imitated the movements of my dream body. Since I couldn't gather the will to get past the sensation I woke myself up and shifted positions and tried to enter back into the dream but couldn't fall back asleep.

After spending two nights with intense WILD attempts I decided that WILD would be an excellent and direct method for me to develop, and have resolved to schedule a practice regiment for this pursuit.
    5. A Hilarious, Epic, and Embarrassing Pair of FAs (Plus a Nightmare and a Very Short Lucid)

by , 11-18-2010 at 02:02 AM (The Lab Notebook)
Awake, Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm at the camp I went to as a kid [Not the one mentioned in the catchup post below, another one] with my dad. The lodge is a Marie Callender's [Cool!], and we're going out to dinner there. We get a table and order coffee and cookies. Mom is already there and tells us to come over and join her at her table. She's mad at us for not seeing her when we came in, or looking for her in the crowd. Dad and I get up and move to her table, bringing our coffee and cookies with us.

      While we're in the restaurant
[I think], I start looking back at old pictures of myself on various camping trips. One of them is of my and several of my Literacy AmeriCorps friends, including Laya, Jen, and Chelisa. The oldest picture is from junior high school. It's a big, panoramic picture with lots and lots of kids and their camp counselors in it. I'm near the far right, next to Erica. [She didn't even go to my junior high.] Those of us who are on that side of the picture are standing near the grassy edge of a cliff; one of the boys on in the picture is pretending to be about to step off.

I wake up in my current bed. I try several times to turn on the lamp next to it, but the bulb just flickers and sputters every time I try. I turn the knob until the flickering stops, tighten the bulb in its socket, then try again. Still nothing. I go out into the hall to look at the digital clock on one of our cable boxes, to see what time it is. It says 7:39, which disappoints me. Aw, man! It's time to get up, I think. Then I look again and see that I made a mistake: it's only 2:39. So, I get my notepad and start taking notes on the dream I just had.

...And then I woke up for real. This time, I remembered to do the nose-pinch RC. I was very annoyed with myself for not doing any RCs before and not catching the FA, especially when I realized that I had missed not one, but two of the classic dream signs, one right after another. My mind is great at giving me clues that I'm dreaming; I'm just oblivious.

      After that, it
seems to take me a really long time to get back to sleep. While I'm trying to do so, I think, Oh, crap, I can't talk to Cj on the phone tomorrow at 9, because that's when I'm meeting with Frank. I get up, take my laptop into the study, and sleepily start writing her an e-mail explaining that we'll have to postpone our date to talk on the phone because I have a conflicting appointment. I'm working in Yahoo! Mail [which is what I use for my main e-mail account in reality], and press Send. Suddenly, annoying, circus-y music starts to play out of the computer's speakers, and the screen is filled with a weird, old, basic HTML page with a colored background. The page appears to scroll down automatically. One of the first things to appear on it is a single sentence of text that contains my name. This is what makes me realize what's going on: I've stupidly allowed my Yahoo password to get phished by entering it into a fake website, and now my laptop has a virus. I let out a long string of curse words (actually, the same curse word repeated many times). Windows starts scanning my computer, trying to fight the virus.

Mom and P. are coming home. According to the digital clocks on the cable boxes, it's 12:02 A.M. Leaving my laptop on the floor of the study, I go outside to the street to meet them. They're coming home in a red VW New Beetle (where did they get that? I wonder silently), which they're parking on the curb across the street from our house, because our two regular cars
[the ones we own in reality] are taking up both spaces in the garage. I come over to greet them as they're getting out of the car. As we walk back toward the house, I look at the side yard and see that there's a bamboo tree that sort of looks like a fountain there. Ooh, that's pretty! I think. P. goes back to put some more CDs in the New Beetle. [Neither it nor the bamboo tree exist in reality, of course, but I didn't realize that anything was strange until after I woke up. :/ ]

I woke up for real at 5:00 and took down more notes. I realized in hindsight that it hadn't actually taken me as long to fall asleep as I had thought; at least part of the process, and everything after that, had been a dream. I didn't actually have any such appointment with Cj, anyway. I was amazed at how completely and totally this dream had convinced me that I was in reality.

I'm indoors somewhere, and I'm wearing a cowboy hat. I look behind me and see my friend D.W. there, riding in a wheelchair. I think, Oh, good, she got a wheelchair. I feel the cowboy hat on my head and think, Oh, yeah, this is a dream. I can feel the by-now-familiar sensation of lucid-dream consciousness. I open my dream self's eyes and look very briefly at my hands, which appear normal, then up at my indoor surroundings. To engage more fully with my dream self and its sense of touch, I reach up to touch the brim of the cowboy hat with both hands, then take it off. I'm sitting in something [possibly another wheelchair, but I don't see it, so I'm not sure]. I stand up and try to turn around and talk to D.W., but just then, I heard my mom talking out in the entryway, which took my attention away from the dream, which instantaneously kicked me back into reality.

      ----------------------
      Side notes:
I should choose my MILD affirmations with more care. The ones I focused on the most this past night were “I am self-aware and in control in my dreams” and “I bring clarity, lucidity, and stability into my dreams.” These backfired rather spectacularly in my second dream of the night. It was perfectly clear and stable, and, as far as I could tell, I was just as self-aware and in control of my own actions as I am in reality. And yet, I never realized that I was dreaming. I focused on that aspect more as I was trying to get back to sleep after 5:00, and it worked, if only briefly.
    6. Dream Journal: Movie, Airport, High School Picnic, Spider Panic, Male vs. Female, FAs Galore

      by , 11-17-2010 at 07:05 PM
My dream recall really improved tonight, I had a lot of dreams, but I really remember a lot of fragments rather than these long and drawn out scenarios. I know that looking back it's actually very hard for me to distinguish some of my dreams from reality because they are mostly mundane and I have the PassObs state so pervasive in my dreams.

      Dream 1-- HellBoy Reloaded

This movie has nothing to do with Hellboy, except that it has the main actress from the movie. I am PassObs in this dream, watching the movie as it unfolds before me. It feels like I'm caught in the trailer because she is narrating the whole time as I am observing, and there is a lot of mental commentary going on in the background of my mind.

So, the dream starts with her talking about herself and how she was a confused girl or something looking for love. Then I see a scene where she is inside of a giant cake that is being pushed down the hall. She has a similar costume as if she were in the movie Hellboy, thus the title. She says she is looking for love, and that her whole life turned around after this one event.

The cake gets pushed into a restaurant. And it's directly in the middle. Suddenly there are 5 guys, who I recognize as all competing for her love, that burst out in a murdering spree everyone in the restaurant. There are three guys who I basically discard and don't pay attention to. There is one guy with red hair, who I can't think of at the moment, and the last one is Wolverine! haha.

So I see Wolverine kill people, and then he takes this one guy out of the room by his claws. This whole time I'm thinking "how does she gets these men to like her?" "Maybe she just displays her real personality and whether or not they like her doesn't actually affect her because she has so many people who like her".. It's a really intricate thought process that I'm not doing justice to here, but I felt sad and depressed while thinking the thoughts. I was looking at the movie as a type of archetype for how to act, and I had this mental cycle that basically went "I'm not good enough, how do I get better?, the movie knows the answer so watch the movie and learn the right way."

Anyway, I follow Wolverine out into where he dragged the guy, and suddenly I'm in my cabana back in Dallas. I can't say for sure what happened after this because I had another dream at 5am that really scares me and might be a true account about what I did, but I am not for sure because I can only remember what I said happened.

      Dream 2-- 5am continuation of dream 1

So, in this dream, everything repeats just like dream 1. When I follow Wolverine out I become aware that I am part of an assassination squad, and our group name is on this serving tray that looks exactly like what they would bring you for an order or room service. Once again, I am in my cabana.

I look around, and I am in this rectangular room, which doesn't actually resemble my cabana at all except the ground is carpetted a light blue and the doors are white. The tray disappears as I look back, and it is replaced by three of my high school friends: Stewart, AK, and a third person. I immediately announce to them that this is a dream and that I had just experienced this situation earlier, but I don't become lucid.

I explain to them in detail exactly what had happened, or at least what I remember. I cannot be sure if in this dream I am giving a true account of what happened in the original dream, but I seem pretty damn convinced, and everything I was describing was accurate.

So, I tell this is a dream, and I show them what I did. I walk over to a door, and I say, "I opened this door, and there's a bed and a TV, and I watched the TV from the bed." I open the door, and it initially it doesn't seem like there is a bed inside but I can see the TV. It doesn't matter, I don't look long enough to care. I walk over to another door and say and here is the exit. As I am walking over I can see the look on their faces is really freaked out/surprised. Both of their eyes are like in a way that is really exaggerated. I can't believe I didin't lucid this!! That's the end.

      Dream 3-- Airport Group Bathroom

Some of my dreams that I have now-a-days seem to give me memories of dreams I've had in the past but WHILE I'M STILL IN THE DREAM. It's very weird. When I wake up I cannot remember having any dream like it, but in my dream mind I am sure of my location, and it all seems very familiar. In fact, I have memories of how the other dreams went, but they only last as long as my dream.

In this dream, I am carrying a blue tub, which is a debate term for one of the 10 gallon plastic containers that carry everything. I am walking through an airport, and I think that is my luggage. I know I need to take a shower before I board because I don't want to be gross for the flight. I walk over to this huge gray table where there is a security guard sitting down. He is black.

I put down my tub on the table, and I open it a little maybe to see what's inside but change my mind because he calls me over. He asks from my student ID, I give him my college student ID, and then I walk over to bathroom. I don't remember walking through any door, but I appear in the bathroom at the back right hand corner. I am only wearing a towel at this point. This is a huge square room where there are lines of sinks along the wall, and people sitting in stools near each sink. At the opposite corner (front left) I see a door that is slightly open and appears to be a shower. Where I am seems to be some sort of sauna.

I walk around looking for an empty spot, but I'm not saying anything. I think I'm in PassObs at this point because the scenery is so still and I'm not interacting at all. I find an empty sink and put down a white book I had in my hands apparently. As I sit, I get tapped on the shoulder. It's a black woman wearing what looks like blue scrubs as if she were a nurse.

She says something but I can't hear her because I have my right earbud in randomly. I take it out and do a sort of curt "what?" and she asks me a question I can't remember and I say "no." she proceeds to tell me that I am very rude and that I need to watch the way I speak. This comment makes me really self-conscious and ends the dream because I go into a PassObs state and everything begins to turn black. I think about how my comment really was rude and how I might actually be a rude person without realizing it and that I don't want to be rude in the future.

Dream Fragment 4-- Spider vs. Cat

This dream was a drawn out battle between what seemed like two comic super hero characters that were going to kill each other. Once again, I was passive observer in this dream, watching the scene as if it were a movie and all I could do was watch and think. We are in this darkened room, and I see the SpiderGuy (who is white with black hair, long sideburns, and I can't remember clothing) getting his head hit against a wall. As his head smashes against the wall, he looks to the right, which is looking directly at me. Suddenly, he morphs into a spider, and he crawls around trying to escape.

Because it's night, he is very sneaky and goes underneath a bed that I am on. The opponent, who I never see, starts to wait. After a little bit of no action, the spider crawls along the side of a wall at a fast speed toward the door at the other end of this darkened room. I see the opponent now, in the form of a cat, jump up and try to get him. Freaked out, the spider crawls all the way back underneath the bed, and we wait again.

We wait for a long time, maybe 2 minutes, and then these thoughts enter my head like, he's decided never to come out, what a brilliant strategy. And because thoughts determine reality, I stop thinking about the fight altogether, and just pay attention to this cat that is now sitting near the foot of this bed I am on. The cat, which is orange and white, starts to move toward me a little after I bring my attention to it.

It doesn't reach me though, it turns and climbs into what looks like a crib. There is a black cat that hops in from out of my vision. I assume that these cats know eachother because they start to snuggle. I observe how they interact with each other and try to determine what their relationship is like based on their behavior and what signals they are trying to send to each other. This is my classic PassObs state, where I am just watching an event and being purely analytical about it. I am having these thoughts like "oh, the orange cat is moving away slightly agitated so it doesn't like the black cat that much. The black cat is really needy for attention and affection, but the orange cat doesn't want to give it to him. I wonder if the orange cat knows and is just too cool or what"

Stuff like that. Whenever I go deep into PassObs, I end up either switching dream scenes completely because my environment turns all black and I lose focus on any particular sight because I am caught up in my thoughts or I wake up.

      Dream 5-- High School Picnic

This dream starts off in a really nice house. I am with my friend, Will, from high school and apparently his dad and some other people. We all walk into this room that looks like a classroom, but seems to be part of the mansion as well. Everyone sits down on top of a desk because there are no chairs in this room. Some people have some bud that they are smoking and I don't have any so I start looking for some.

Somehow I know that underneath these desks there are drawers that I and pull out. I try a couple and there is nothing in them. I walk over to a separate isle of desks and try again. I find what looks like purely a rolling paper, but as I pull it out I hear a dad say "oh look he got one" so I decide to light it. I have to squish it together and roll it with my fingers for it to remain taut and not fall apart. As I am smoking it I get the feeling like I am actually getting high. My vision starts to blur a little and I completely relax into the situation. My analytical mind goes blank and I just start walking along. I end up walking outside where there are a bunch of other high school friends having a picnic.

They are sitting on these wooden tables that have pizza and chips on them. I see Gefen, and Doug, and David C., and Sean. All of these people I have seen smoke bud at one point or another, so the connection here is clear. As I am walking around, I am trying to have conversations with some of them, but I get in my head and analytical about what we are talking about, which makes me want to move on and do something else because the analytical aspect makes me really uncomfortable and uneasy. I can't talk to anybody without my mind firing a million thoughts per second, so I just wander around high for a while. I never finish my blunt, but I continue to smoke it throughout the dream.

False Awakening 1-- Talking to Daniel

So I am flying to Boston on Thursday, so I wanted to call my friend over at BU to hang out and chill. I did this during a False Awakening and our conversation was like Me: "hey man, I'm coming into town this weekend" "oh nice man.. (something about his roommate)" "I'll be there Thursday Friday Saturday wan to chill" "(says something nonresponsive)" (SILENCE) in my head I go PassObs thinking about whether I should say "are you free?" or just drop the conversation and take his non-committal response as a no. Then I start thinking about all the cool stuff he must be doing in BU and how he just chills until someone asks him to do something and then goes with the flow that way. WOW I get up in my head!!

False Awakening 2-- Comments from Matthew

Yesterday I had a 30 minute conversation with my TA in Writing class about how to do this upcoming project. He talked to me a lot about my analytical mind and how I like to tackle the larger, meta issues of a subject, which sometimes forces me away from the more pragmatic and applicable problems that the prompt is trying to point to. These comments started me thinking about how that applies to my life in everyday situations and how I could change that behavior or what I would need to do in order for that behavior to change.

In my dream, I am writing down geometrical shapes and words on graph paper while listening to a distant voice that sounds exactly like Matthew. He is telling me in my dream that I am too critical and that I need to settle down and relax. I am sorting through the paper trying to find where I put these comments. He is explaining that I already know everything I just need to organize the thoughts and make them cogent instead of muddling the issue and trying to make it more complex. I think I am awake this whole time because I am in my dorm room and everything seems normal.

After enough of these comments, I go into PassObs of self-criticism about my behavior and my ability to learn things and write essays, which causes the dream scene to go black and I wake up.

Dream 6-- Arguments with Friends about Gender

So I am in a separate darkened room with two people that I think I know. They seem to be related because they are lying in the same bed, while I am in my own chair, which I think is a bean bag chair. At first, I am facing them and we are talking about the difference between guys and girls. We are talking about it from the parent's point of view and which would be harder to raise and why.

I don't know what we were saying specifically, but out of synchronicity, the TV turns on, and I swivel around somehow in my bean bag chair. The TV character looks like Jon Stewart and he is explaining how for guys the cost of being raised is like $2 because we don't need anything. For girls it's like $50,000 because they need tampons, bras, and all of these other materials. After the show is over I turn around and we all start laughing.

      Dream Fragment 7-- Nurse Mom

I am laying in the bed I sleep in whenever I go to my grandparent's house. Instead of being normal, my legs are hanging off the side and I am lying on some pillows, with my face turned to the side looking at a TV screen with some medicial show playing. I feel sick, and I transition from being inside my body to going PassObs and being a part of the show through the camera. Next, my mom walks into the room with some soup. This dream occurred chronologically after I had the dream where I smoked the blunt, so I was really worried that she would notice the smell of bud. This is an example where I have memories of previous dreams inside of my dream.

She comes over and pats me on the back in a comforting way. I start to get really paranoid and freaked out that she knows, which forces me into PassObs mode and then out of the dream!! Grr!

Dream Fragment 8-- Talking to a DC

This isn't lucid, but I'm in my dorm room talking to a DC. He is explaining to me his experiences with LD and how it helped him in his life. He explains to me how he used to be depressed and lacking in creativity. Then he found the world of LD and he never wanted to leave. It allowed him to fully explore his imagination and take a leap into another world. I suddenly get this vibrant thought of me flying over a city and just racing through the wind. There is a great breeze going through my hair, but the scene is amazing and awesome, and now I am super motivated to fly in a LD!

Overall, my dream recall really improved tonight, but I also think that I was not getting very deep sleep. I was tossing and turning a lot which I think kept my consciousness level higher than normal, but also affected my rest. I didnt hear my WILD alarm go off at 5am, but I still had many FAs which is a sign that my WILDing techniques are getting better. I feel like I am having more and more obvious chances to DILD, which is really encouraging. I am focusing more on RCing during the day and making them serious RCs. I will take deep breaths and start looking around and feeling my clothes in order to get a mixture of sense perceptions. I tell myself throughout the day "When I am dreaming, I will look at my hands and recognize the dream state." I'm really motivated on this WILD journey, and I think that with a little more practice I will start having these WILDs and DILDs tonight! I can see it happening, there is just that little extra step of realizing shit is weird in the dream. I will have to start paying more attention to my reality so that I can say "hey this is a little weird, I'm going to RC" just to ingrain the habit.

      Cruise Ship
      Non-lucid

This one is from several nights ago, I just hadn't posted it online. It was pretty strange, and confusing even just after I woke, not to mention nearly a week later... But here we go anyway
We are in some sort of fancy cruise ship. There is red carpeting with gold trim in all the corridors. The walls are stained cherry, and there are gold/brass fancy light fixtures protruding from the walls at regular intervals. To my right is a super old telephone, it's hooked up to a pc so that guests can make calls on the old phone, and still get the experience, even though the technology is outdated. I get the sense that I and several others have been transported through time and find ourselves on this ship.[/INDENT]
Everything gets very vague after this point.
I've got a sense of being forward in time, seeing problems in the world. Friends are dead. Relationships are ruined. We return home and fix the problems that I saw in the future. As a final act, I must go into an abandoned movie theater. I'm trapped in here, but can communicate with the outside world. There is an old man on the outside with a map of the realm I'm trapped in. He sits staring at it, while on the inside, I'm trying to find a way out. After a while, he figures out that it somehow relates to chess, he circles a few spaces on his map with a sharpie, and I play a game of chess with an unknown force, and escape. Hurray!

      Weird Movie
      Non-lucid

I seem to be watching a movie. I'm not participating at all in this dream.
The dream begins with very cintematic camera angles. It shows the stomach of a woman. Then a hip with a thong being tied around it. Lips with lipstick being applied. Eyes with Eye shadow being applied. Camera zooms out to reveal it was all done by a 14-15 year old girl. I get the sense that this is a whorehouse in Britain. A 20ish boy knocks on the door, and is answered by an overly made-up woman of 45. She tells him that the girl is not ready yet because he's too early, and tells him that he knows that. In effort to keep his business, she calls another girl to come in and 'keep him busy' until the young girl from the beginning is ready.
A 20ish girl enters the room, and begs the older woman 'Nooo, please nooo!' etc. Girl and boy go into a side room. Boy appologizes for what he said to her last time. I get the feeling that it was very terrible for her. She says 'I thought you went back home.'
The boy replies 'I did but when I saw the British space shuttle on the news, I had to come back.'

I wake up. Lol that was wierd.
I reach for my dream journal to enter my dreams. I am still in bed, with the notebook on my lap, pen in my fingers trying to recall my dreams.
I wake up again... Wow, my first FA.
It's funny though, when I wake up for real I can still feel the lasting feeling of the pen between my fingers. I RC to be sure, and sure enough, I'm really awake. Oh well.
    8. Dream Journal: Spice Girls, Carnival, False Awakening

      by , 11-16-2010 at 05:25 PM
      Dream 1-- Spice Girls Remix

So, this dream is half passive observer half I'm actually noticing that I'm in my body. Most of my dreams now are pretty sexual because I haven't masturbated for like a week now. I actually feel more energized because of it, but this is a DJ....

So I start out in my room. I'm facing away from my bathroom, meaning that I can see the rest of my room, including my bed and my LoveSac (which is a comfy and huge bean bag chair. I hear this music start to play. My whole screen of vision goes red and I can see this black girl with a golden wig on starting to sing. I think she starts singing a song that's uniquely Spice Girls at first so I can begin to recognize who they are.

This is my Passive Observer state. Here, it's like I'm just the camera for this music video with thoughts and critique. The camera will change easily and there won't be much feeling inside me, just thoughts and analysis of the video I'm watching.

So I see the black girl at first, she's wearing a white Halter top and some skimpy shorts. Suddenly, the camera pans out and I feel like I'm in my body in my room, and I can see all five of them. The song keeps playing and I'm having the realization that I'm listening to the Spice Girls in my room, but it doesn't cause me to RC or wake up. Then, the screen turns all green as the camera focuses in on another of the girls, who looks like she is kind of depressed. She is white with black hair, and she plays the cello. She has a very weird voice that doesn't actually go with the song at all. In my PassObs state, I question the legitimacy of her playing the cello and how it would affect the song. I start listening to the music more carefully and realize that the cello is being played really fast but somehow it works with the music. I get the feeling like in concert she must get really tired.

Pan out again. I'm sitting in the same place looking at all five of them. For one of the verses one of them starts to sing who sounds kinda Asian, and she even makes the comment about how she has the classic Asian accent, as part of the song. What's funny is how this whole time I am trying to remember the lyrics for the song, and I feel really confident in my version, but they keep changing the song into something really random, like at one point they are talking about horses.

Then the video suddenly shifts, and now I'm standing at the doorway to my sister's room, and I see this one hot blonde Spice Girl start doing a seductive dance as the beginning of another song. She is wearing basically nothing, I can see her stomache and legs. I want to F this girl, but I'm in PassObs (oh how I wish I was lucid!). They start another song, but it doesn't last very long because I roll over in bed.

Dream 2-- Busted by the Police for the First Time

So, this dream starts off similar to the other dream where I feel like I'm just a camera that is part of a movie. I am in the sky and floating down as I see lots of people crowded around some rides. There is procession of buses and sounds to my left. There are these silver gates that separate different areas where people are either waiting to get on a ride or are on the ride. It's all out on in the open, all on concrete, but I can't really see the ground because there are so many people.

As I am still floating downward in camera mode, I hear Dave Chappelle tell a Joke that I cannot remember, but I feel like I had it in my memory for a long time because I knew it when he said it. As the camera finally descends, I become a person and start walking around, but I am alone at this carnival. I get to this one section where there aren't a lot of people and I decide to try and start drinking so that I can loosen up and have some more fun. It's the classic red Solo cup filled with beer. As I drink and walk, I realize that I'm like the only one in this part of the Carnival somehow, and so I start walking towards the party. As I get closer, I see out of the corner of my eye that there is a group of police officersstanding on the other side of the metal fence, scoping out the situation and probably carding people.

At first, I feel really confident I won't get IDed as long as I walk confidently and act like I don't even notice them. I remember that I haven't shaved in four days and I have never gotten busted before. I walk past all of them, but the last one says "Hey, get over here" and "Show me your ID." I know I'm fucked, but I'm like "OK" in a calm voice. I start patting my pockets as if I don't know which pocket it's in. He is starting to get impatient and is like "C'mon, C'mon." As I open my wallet, I realize that I don't have my ID. Although in real life there is no real explanation for not having it, in my dream I think back to some event that happened earlier that justifies me not having it. I think about giving me school ID to the cop or this other ID I have, but he's like "You're not 21, I'm giving you a ticket." My heart sinks into my stomache and I feel awful. I can only look down as shame and guilt start to wash over me.

I start to wonder what went wrong, when I look up there is a mirror there. I see that I had been wearing this white polo with purple stripes, I wasn't actually shaved, and I looked 17. I was like wow I am never wearing polo shirts out again, and I start beating myself up mentally like why would I be so stupid to wear out a polo and next time I am coming with friends. Why didn't I come with friends? If I had been here with a frat everything would have been fine, and then I picture myself being with a frat and drinking and having fun and all of that. Then I wake up

      Dream 3-- Space Ship Wars

This dream is super obscure, but it involves people from my high school, which should be the most ultimate dream sign in existence for me and I don't know why I can't seem to RC it properly when it happens! I could be having DILDs every night along with my WILDs!!

So the dream starts out at night time. I am on the radio with my teammates and we need to take out with our ships for what I think is a practice run, for fun. I don't remember ever flying these ships before and I can't think of any particular job we have to do for them. I am on some like school track or something, but there is a metal door that opens up like a garage door and reveals my space vehicle, which is shaped like a classic UFO.

It's me Peter, Brendon, and this blonde girl who is really hot. We take off and I'm super shitty at flying my craft. I hear Peter and Brendon talking over the intercom, and I can see a lot of the action out of my front mirror. Most of my movements aren't coordinated with my brain, so they just kinda happen and I have to go along with them. The opponents we are fighting have crafts in the shape of the female sign (the circle with a line down and the horizontal stripe), which is funny because I got shown a binky yesterday that was that exact sign/shape.

We start fighting the female shaped opponents, but I'm not really doing anything. I'm flying around just trying to get control of my vehicle, and I'm failing. I hear them talking about strategy and who they hit and who hit who, but I'm flying into a tree. I dodge the tree by going straight down and my shit crashes into a pool of water. Suddenly, I am swimming with this hot blonde, and Peter comes down too. We are all three in the pool, just relaxing, when Peter gets back in his craft and I get back in mine and we take off again. I still can't control mine for shit, and then Brendon announces that we won, so I land my UFO back into the water.

It's me Peter and the hot girl again and we are like under a bridge but I can see the original place that we hung out before taking off a second time. I'm sort of away from Peter and the girl, feeling a little PassObs but wanting to be a part of the celebration. Suddenly, as if it were part of a movie, the girls floats over to me with a big smile on her face, and we start making out!! I'm really happy.

Dream Fragment 4-- False Awakening After WILD

So I am doing a WILD Journey, and I set my alarm for 5am after going to sleep at 12. I remembered to start counting in my head before falling back asleep, and this night I actually managed to get back to sleep relatively quickly. Looking back, I had read on these forums that usually WILDs will start with false awakenings in the exact bed/room you are in, so you need to get adept/used to RCing upon awakening every time.

I didn't do that and I sat up in my dorm room bed and looked over at my roommate. The scene was kinda fuzzy but it was super weird. My roommate was sitting at the head of his bed, and there was this shirt hanging from a rack. Behind the shirt was this giant slab of meat, and it looked like he was on his computer taking notes about this slab of meat or something. I didn't say anything and nothing else was going on, but I remember thinking about how weird the whole thing was. I fell back asleep and missed my chance to LD from my WILD, but I'm glad I am noticing my FAs and that I actually successfully transitioned!

      Dream Fragment 5-- Samurai Fight

This dream was really long, but it got cut extraordinarily short due to the morning time, and I think that messed up my recall. I had been reading The Book of Five Rings before I went to sleep, and so I had sword fighting as a theme bright inside my head for tonight.

There was a large build-up, but me and this guy face off to fight. He starts to charge me and I have all of these thoughts running into my head like how is he going to strike, will I be able to defend, how can I win this. I was getting all excited about fighting him because part of me knew it was a dream and that it was going to be exciting. I think I was on the verge of lucidity when my roommate's alarm clock went off in my opponent's mid stride!! I was so disappointed when I found myself in my bed. It was the first time in a while that I was going to fight in a dream.

NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID FALSE AWAKENING PRECOG

      Hacking a secret society temple
On an underground cell. My dad is sitting on the floor, looking hopeless. My mom and BF are also there. I am there to save them, but right now I also focused on opening a kind of secret vault on the stone floor. There’s a tiny iron ring buried on the stone, but I manage to turn it and start a mechanism that opens the stone slab, exposing a hole on the floor with a box. I take out of it tiny metallic plates with tiny precious stones incrustations. They look like chips, not exactly jewels. People around me ask what it is. I seem to know exactly what it is but no time to explain. Then I also open a secret passage on the stone wall and tell everybody to go in. It is pitch dark and they hesitate but there’s someone coming and I tell them to hurry. I manage to close the passage door just behind us, but our captors saw us. In the dark we can more or less see some very old stairs carved in the rock that go up. I take the lead. The stairs are very imperfect and I warn people to be careful. I clear the way from the giant spider webs and finally see some light. The passage ends on some place with a loosely fit wall slab. I push it a bit to the side and it leads either directly to outside, where there’s a parking lot or to just behind a column on the main entrance. Some of us manage to go to parking lot, but soon appear some guards and we can’t go there anymore. So the last of us, including me and my BF, have to go to main entrance and try to mingle with the crowd. There’s a lot of people around, because this is some sort of big event of some secret society, so we split and try to pass undetected.
I end up in some oval room with amphitheatre seats around. Three guys in capes and hoods come inside and everybody bows to them. I do the same and sneak out of it very discretely, because once they start whatever they are about to start, I will get stuck there.
I pass into another room, bigger, and more elliptical. Some ceremony is taking place here, but there’s an area for observers – like a small amphitheatre on one of the sides of the elipse – and I see my BF sitting there. Because it is the perfect time to escape but he seems to have chosen to sit there till the end, I decide to go meet him to warn him we must go now. But then I can’t say a word, I can’t make any suspicious signs, because we’re surrounded by these people from this order or society and they are all sitting straight, looking to the front, not saying a word. Through very discrete signs I make him understand we should go immediately, but some girls sitting below us look back and notice something strange. They ask me all sorts of questions, which I dodge wonderfully, but one of them didn’t buy it. She knows I don’t belong. But she won’t make a scandal, she knows I’m trapped. I review in my head how many steps to the parking lot, where the car is and I feel the adrenalin rush. I know as soon as we get up, the girl will warn about my presence and guards will be after us, but I must escape, because I have the whatever-it-is-that-I-stole.

      Lesson on LDs to dreamers
I enter a dream which I recognize as having had before waking up but didn’t recall then. It had to do with being in some classroom and it being invaded by wasps. First one, then two, then we are all trying to escape from them, cause an entire colony entered through a hole in the ceiling. As we go out and close the door, our teacher promises to go back and get our stuff for us. She gets some guys to go and when they come back they bring dolls. Each of us had a doll which is delivered to each seat on a new classroom where we shall continue our lesson (?).
Then on the new room, there’s a long table, with the dolls on and we seat, more like to have a meal than to have a class.
All of this is absurd and I slowly get lucid. Then I start talking to the nearby colleagues – I don’t know any of them, a girl and two guys. I am looking at their faces which are very clear and don’t change even when I look away. I tell them about lucid dreams, that I am currently having one and that I think they are not DC’s but actual dreamers. They seem surprised but interested. They ask how do I know it is a dream and I sank my arm on the table. They find it so cool and try to do the same with no success. I explain they first have to believe it is a dream and teach them the nose pinch RC. I do it at the same time as the girl. I tell her I am feeling my RL body breathing very clearly but she tells me she can’t. But I tell “OK, yet you are breathing although you’re pinching nose.” Sometimes you don’t feel it right away. Then she says she is starting to feel it. She looks very focused, she smiles and... I wake up.

      4:30 GMT

      Ecovillage sanctuary
On some ecovillage on a remote area. It is somewhat closed and hidden from most eyes and it is kind of a sanctuary. I am listening to a lady with long hair who lives there and she explains that when the civilization collapses, everybody will turn to places like these and hope to be welcomed. But she says they can’t open their arms to everybody, so they’ll only be open to people who had previously a connection to them and contributed to their project, for example with donations. I find it a bit cold-blooded, but I totally understand and I start considering doing just that.

      Celebration of mission acomplished
After a good succeeded mission (I guess the temple one?), I meet with some group of people from alternative underground movements I know. We’re all jammed into a very tight place, like a secret office bunker we have. It’s so crowded there we can hardly move, but we’re partying. I’m the hero of the day and get congratulated. But there’s some girl who is totally jealous of me and just wants to humiliate me, so she posted pictures of me on the wall. She says it’s in homage to me, but they are private, familiar stuff that wasn’t supposed to be exposed. On one I am totally fat with my belly showing (I wonder when that was???). She looks at me defying but I smile and go over it, totally not caring. We’re celebrating, so I hug her. She feels touched by my attitude and she looks embarrassed. She asks me sorry and ask if I believe she can change as a person. I tell her yes, she smiles and then she leaves. I sit and start writing on my DJ, once again forgetting to first wake up.

      5:30 GMT

      Guy looking for Celia
At home with my BF. Some guy knocks on the door and I open. He asks for Celia. I say she doesn’t live there. He doesn’t believe me and insists this is her house. I try to recall who she can be and tell him she did indeed live there before us, but now we’re the ones living there for more than a year. He still can’t believe it and gets really angry. He gets inside without permission and starts looking around. My BF does not believe his attitude, but I make a sign to chill. I tell the guy I will look in my contact book if I have her number, so he can talk to her and find where she lives now. But I don’t know her full name. He tells me she is Celia Silene. But as I do this, the guy is picking up some papers we left on the table and starts making innuendos that my BF’s signature does not match in different documents. I say “Sorry, and what are you insinuating with that?” He says he is not saying anything but I read in his mind he thinks we’re liars and somehow kidnapped her or worst. He sits on the sofa and will not move any time soon. I ask my BF to be patient as I go look for my agenda.
Our home is quite impressive, big, beautiful, stylish. Then I see we have a backdoor open and some people standing there. I am amazed at the house design – it is Japanese like, with a porch all around and sliding doors and we even have an altar full of golden Buddhas, turned to this backdoor. That is why some people are there. They look like Inuits. They are a couple with two girls. They are admiring the Buddhas and ask if they can come in, but I explain this is a private home, not a museum of some kind. Still, I tell them we will gladly welcome them there some other time as we have a “guest” in the living room that we have to deal with. I then cuddle the older girl’s head and she looks totally pissed off and gets away from me. I say I’m sorry and I wonder maybe it was just her teen attitude. Then I do the same to the youngest, but she also reacts badly and I feel stupid.

    10. 11/15/2010 - "Arachnoception"

by , 11-15-2010 at 04:30 PM (Oneironaut Zero: Dreamwalker Chronicles)
Got a lucid dream for my birthday. Just wish it would have been a more pleasant one. Usually, I will count false awakenings as separate dreams, but since this is all so continuous, and had such a "dreams within dreams" feeling, I will count it as one.

      11/15/2010
      "Arachnoception"

(I had just gotten a copy of Inception, and decided to watch it, last night, while going to bed, to try to induce something Inception-related. I got more than I bargained for...)

I can barely remember the early parts of this dream, but I was driving through DeLand, with Josh. We were taking the road that passes the landfill, on the way back over to my side of town. For some reason, we had to take a detour through the landfill. While driving through it, we apparently stumbled onto some kind of criminal(?) element, and were dragged out of the car, at gunpoint. We were taken inside, and the only thing I remember here, is that I was in what I think was a bathroom, and I got attacked by some creature. It was about the size of a rat, and I believe its body wasn't actually organic. It seemed to be something of a shell, made out of what I think was a child's toy. From within the object, spider-leg-like tendrils protruded, which served as both legs and powerful pincers. It reminded me a lot of the creeping coffins, from Lords of Shadow (which I have been playing, lately). I had to fight like hell, to keep this thing off of me, but eventually got away from it. Not much longer, after that, the cops showed up and raided the compound, starting a huge firefight. In the fray, we were able to escape, and I vaguely remember a small dog being killed, in the fight.

The next thing I knew, I was waking up, in my bed. It was still night out, and Inception was still playing, on my computer. After a moment, I stepped out of bed, and I was immediately ambushed by the "creeping toy" creature, from the dream. It came from out of nowhere, and ran up my leg, biting and scratching with its pincher/legs. This thing fought with all the ferocity of a rabid squirrel, and I could not get it off of me. My leg was getting mangled by the little creature, and it hurt like Hell.

Once again, though, I woke up in my bed. The pest from the dream was nowhere in sight. However, this time, I got out of bed and was met with a dull pain in my leg. Switching on the light, I saw that my leg had bruises in like 6 different places, and it was throbbing. My muscles were progressively tightening, and I could instantly tell that there was venom running through it. I was so confused, though. I knew it had to have been a dream. Right? Hobbling out of bed, I made my way over to my mom's side of the house, surprised to see that she was up this early. My leg was growing worse, when I showed her, dark black spots showing up, and the skin tightening, to where you could start to see the shapes of the tendons. She kind of shrugged it off, and said it would be ok if I just didn't mess with it. More bewildered about the whole thing, than anything else, I just walked back to my room and went back to bed.

And, once again, I awoke in my bed. The pain in my leg was gone, as was any sign of the bruises. So, naturally, I assumed that it had all just been a dream. But, again, just as I stepped out of bed, I was attacked by the creature from the "previous dream." It scurried up through my robe, and around my back. It never bit me, this time, but its steps were like thousands of thick, fingernail jabs, themselves, scrambling all around the upper part of my body. I was able to get a hold of the thing and grab its "legs," holding them open so that they couldn't form the pincers that they had, before. This thing was strong, like a tiny bear trap, but I held the tendrils open, again making my way to show it to my mom. By this time, I didn't know WTF was going on, and I just wanted to know that I wasn't going crazy. On my way out of my room, I passed my pet dog...oblivious to the fact that I don't actually have a pet dog. I did, however, think that it was strange that I recognized the dog as the little dog who'd gotten killed, in the "first dream." Unfortunately, I already had my hands full, and I didn't stop long enough to realize this as a dream sign. Instead, I took the creature over to my mom's room to show her. She looked down at my hands, then back up at me, then back down at my hands. She said..."that's just dead skin," with a confused look of concern on her face. I looked down, and saw that she was right. I was just holding a handful of what looked like gator hide.

By this time, I thought I'd completely lost my mind. Apparently, my mom did, too. She cocked an eyebrow at me and said "Uhh...I have some pills or something...if you need them?" implying that she was afraid I'd completely cracked. Puzzled beyond all hope, I just turned around and walked back to my room. I kept thinking about Inception, and maybe that the idea had somehow been planted into my mind that this spider-thing existed, when it really didn't. I just felt really defeated by my lack of understanding of the whole thing, and just went back to sleep.

The next thing I knew, it was the middle of the day. I was talkin with some guys I was unfamiliar with, who my mom had let into the house. Throughout the time they were here, we'd gotten into smoking and they informed me that they sold. We pretty much just hung around the house for a while, and I tried telling them about the dreams I'd been having lately, about the crazy little monster thing. Nobody seemed all that interested, though. Later, those guys and I were heading out somewhere. We'd gotten into the car, when one of them said he left something inside the house, tossing a huge bag of weed into the car, before walking back to get whatever it was. I kept yelling at him to hurry up, because I didn't want to be just sitting here, with the huge sack in the car. He was just taking his sweet time, and it was annoying the hell out of me.

Of course, just as I was beginning to suspect there might be cops nearby, I heard "WOOP-WOOP," a siren barking at us from behind. I actually can't remember if I was driving or not, but we sped off, down the road, the cops chasing us. We were driving in a slick sports car, and just hauling ass, but they were catching up. (Been playing a bit of Grand Theft Auto, also. Haha.) The guy next to me started freaking out, and dumping all kinds of contraband out the window - everything from weed to small bags of cocaine, which I didn't even know were in the car. In a quick, 3rd-person view, I saw the white powder blowing all over the people on the sides of the road. It was actually pretty hilarious. Suddenly, back in first-person, I got an idea. We pulled over, and I waited for the cops to come within a stone's-throw from our tail, before chucking a bag of coke at their windshield, at the last moment. It blotted out most of the glass, and they ended up swerving to miss our car, and crashing into some nearby pedestrians. Then, for the first time, after all of this chaos, I realized just how absurd all of this actually was. I realized that this had to be a dream.

The other guy in the car was still freaking out, telling me that we had to get the hell out of here. I just laughed and told him to relax, stepping over to the crashed police SUV. Gathering all my strength, I reached a fist up over my head and swung it downward, trying to destroy the engine block, like I'd done to other cars, while lucid. This time, though, I was only able to dent the hood. It was a little more superhuman than waking life, but not what I expected. I tried a few more times, swinging heavy punches at the hood and grille, but I couldn't get anymore damage than about what a baseball bat might have done. Needless to say, I wasn't very happy with this. I was determined, though. I kept thinking that the cops might try to shoot me, through the windshield, but I was already prepared to either dodge the bullets, or just let them hit me. Thinking that there had to be some other way to get through to the engine, the idea just kind of struck me: A light-saber! I had never created one, while lucid, so I figured that this would be a good time to try. Holding my hands up, beside me, as if gripping a sword, I tried to materialize the weapon out of thin air, imaging it growing to length. Nothing happened, though. The dream was very vivid, and I was having a hard time controlling it.

As if by my cue, the cop in the passenger seat held up a blue light-saber of his own, grinning behind the powder-covered windshield. Now even more determined to have one, I made a motion as if it was already in my hand, stabbing directly at the grille, while trying hard to visualize the weapon coming into existence. Finally, I saw the orange glow. The tip of the blazing saber burned into the grill like it was paper, eating through the metal and sinking further into the engine block. I gave a quick tug of my arms, drawing the blade sideways and widening the hole, completely putting the truck out of commission. My accomplice and I then hopped back in the car and prepared to take off again, but instead, I simply woke up, for real.

After a few reality checks - which I should have done, the first few times I 'woke up' - I got up and started jotting notes down.

(This felt like a B6-enhanced dream - very vivid and chaotic - but I didn't take any B6 before bed. Most likely, it was the Reese's Cups I ate, late last night. It would have been nice to just have had a bad-ass lucid, but all that shit with the spider-creature-thing just made the whole thing unpleasant. It was still early as hell, but I didn't bother going back to sleep, after this one.)

Partial projection - Lucid flight over downtown. (L-DEILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID ASTRAL PROJECTION

I have decided to stop using the new table by my bed and again record my dreams in the kitchen table. The trip from my bed to the bathroom and to my kitchen helps with my recall a lot, so I will go back to my old method. Five dreams, two were lucid and I partially astral projected.

      Sixth:

I felt my Physical body in bed and I was already with vibrations. Once more, it was going to be a successful L-DEILD. The dream started to form again but I felt that my vibrations were stronger than usual. I attempted to Astral Project. I focused on my Astral Body and the vibrations skyrocketed. I started to push my Astral Body out of my self and focused on a rope. I started to experience double consciousness. I felt my body in bed and I felt part of me in the Astral Realm. A few second later, I could feel my eyes closed and at the same time, I was looking to my wardrobe. It is hard to explain, I had some sort of double vision. Suddenly, I felt my cat purring and walking on my legs and I lost focus on my Astral Body, got pull back to my physical body and fell into a lucid dream.

I was by the door of my home. I knew it was a dream but I wanted to confirm. I looked at my hand and it was odd. I opened the door and I could see downtown. It was downtown. I flew and there was very odd building. I wanted to fly to the top of that building. On the top of the building, there was a platform. A voice or someone told me to not go there, but I ignored it. As I was approaching the building, the reality of the world twisted and deformed. I decided to land and to attempt to Astral Project again. I ended my dream and woke up with vibrations.

I felt like a pull on my third eye. I decided to attempt to project through my third eye but for some reason (maybe my cat again) I lost focus and consciousness.

I had a false awakening and I started to talk with my wife about my AP attempt. I left the room to write down my dreams and travels and I had a different home. Our living room was big and we had like hundreds of notebooks.

When I woke up for real and went to write down my dreams. After 15 minutes of writing down I closed my the door of the microwave. My stupid microwave's light malfunctioned and gave me a big scare thinking I was still dreaming, but the RC did not fail.

    12. Lucidity and OBE

      by , 11-12-2010 at 07:57 PM
This morning I fell asleep in my bedroom and suddenly perceived a weird feeling that I immediately connected with an OBE, based on some previous experiences that were basically the starting of OBEs. The feeling was both visual (like complete darkness and then a sort of light) and kinesthetic, quite familiar to me, but difficult to describe. I decided to let the feeling go on so to go further into the experience. Then I decided to move and turn around on the other side of the bed; immediately I found myself moving as I wanted to (I actually fell asleep on a side, with my arm around my partner's shoulders). I was very lucid, I actually wondered if I was moving with my physical body. I got up of bed and started moving around the room, noticing that I was very light and was almost fluctuating and thinking that this meant I was having an OBE. The emotion was very strong. I decided to get out of the room. I passed through the closed door, I did it slowly but with no effort and noticed with great lucidity that I was doing it. I found myself in the corridor, that looked a little different from the actual one, and very lighted (while in "reality" the shutters were closed, so it was dark). I kept moving lightly, fluctuating in the corridor, almost flying, and then reached the front room. It was wider and a little different from the actual one, with a huge glass door as big as the whole wall (instead of the two much smaller ones I have). Everything was wide and lighted by the sun. The emotions grew while I kept flying around the front room. I noticed that my hands could easily pass through the glass of the window, and did it more than once, always very lucid. I looked at my hands (it is a reality check I often do during the day) and they were almost trasparent, the fingers were like crooked and crossed together. Then I decided to go somewhere else and chose my parents' house. Only for a moment I found myself there, in the corridor of their house, still fluctuating and having that sense of extreme lightness. Was difficult though to keep staying there so I woke up. Actually it was a false awakening, I woke up in another dream, in bed, with my partner, in the exact posture in which I fell asleep, just with the bedroom looking a little bit different. I was telling her about the experience, being very excited and thinking about writing the experience in my journal. Then I woke up, finding very difficult, in the first moments, to realize that the previous conversation was a dream.
    13. November 5th - November 6th 2010 - A Giant Telephone!

      by , 11-12-2010 at 07:28 AM (Shinoda's Dream Journal)
[[That night, I decided to write down my intent in my DJ before going to sleep. They are in order of importance]]

Intent: Recall -> Lucidity -> Summon Swords

I was on a giant white telephone for some reason. I can't recall much but I remember noticing it wasn't normal. I became lucid just like that and did the nose pinch breathing RC to make sure. I could only breathe in from one nostril though so I was confused [[I woke up and realised I had a runny nose only from one side IWL]] So I thought "What should I do? I remembered writing down my intent in my DJ so I attempt to make 2 swords appear out of thin air in my hands [[A cool power a character I made up has]] But it wasn't working. The giant telephone disappeared during that time. I woke up afterward. I was in my bed, writing the dream in my DJ when I WOKE UP AGAIN!
    14. My First WILD: An Afternoon Nap

      by , 11-12-2010 at 12:19 AM
I got home from school and thought, "I'm tired. I'm going to take a twenty-minute nap." So I came upstairs and launched myself into bed. I didn't even know that I'd kept my mind conscious when my body began to fall asleep after about fifteen minutes.
I could've sworn I heard some sort of scraping/ticking noise. I felt the pulsing of my heartbeat under my skin all over my body. I suddenly just knew, "This is what sleep paralysis feels like. I've done it."
As soon as the pulsing stopped, I opened my eyes. I could see a picture of my room, but it was fragmented, distorted. Just to make sure, I tried to check my hands---I had no fingers at all! I think I did something wrong because I had to force myself to move. In other words, I was still paralyzed. Suddenly the view shifted and everything went back to normal. I did a reality check and was awake. I felt so terrible!
    15. I dont quite understand this, are my dreams normal?

Ive had this dream, where i am sitting at the base of the stairs that spiral up and my house is pure white except the railing on the stairs which is a rusty gold. My parents have plans to go out for dinner and dont tell me, we seem extremely rich and my mother is in a beautiful red sparkeling dress with marilyn monroe hair and my father in a very handsome tux, they strange thing is, they have no faces. I am at the base of my stairs playing with some toys and my mother and father go to the door to leave, me being confused i see the door open and a man walks in, they say this is my babysitter, he (unfortunatley) has a face, he is extremely pale, fingers boney and hair bleached white and swooped to the side ( in a AFI lead singer style) and he is wearing a white tux, that is sometimes pure white or has tiny black stripes going down it(it goes in and out of this) he is very well groomed and matches the house perfectly the only 2 things standing out are his eyes and a strange book in his arms, his eyes are pitch black and when you look into them they have a deep blood red swirly ness to them (like the eyes in 30 days of night that the creatures have) and his book is carved with rune like carvings and is glowing red with a giant bookmark hanging out of it, the moment i saw him i was struck with fear so i ran over to my parents and begged them not to leave and as i did i noticed when i looked outside there was nothing but a black void. They kept saying "its ok, its ok" and then left. I went to go sit back down and continue playing with my blocks and little toy train when he walked over and sat down right beside me and asked this question "would you like to read a book?" but the strange thing was his voice sounded like it overlapped, like 2 voices in one. one sounded very sweet like an angels and the 2nd voice sounded like that of a demon, deep and disturbing (and the strange thing is at my age i was a very sheltered child i was only 7 i had never heard a voice like that before in my life). and i shook my head saying no and he kept insisting "come on come on just a lil peek" i kept saying no then he got very stern and said "read the book... NOW!" and he opened it up and i got a slight glimpse inside but it was nothing but pure death and agony so thats why i said no.. i got up and ran and ran and my house warped and twisted and like computer data broke apart into the black void. (you remember those old microsoft stand by screens when it would create a junglegym in different colors) well it had looked like that in the middle a giant junglegym and i ran towards it and in the middle there was a tiny workshop, where a fat man worked on something but it was very loud inside i could tell. i kept yelling PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!! HES GOING TO GET ME!! and yet he kept shaking his head no no im sorry i cant i cant hear you i cant help you. so i kept running around and around until my legs slowed and no matter how hard i pushed i couldnt run anymore until he was right behind me and as he touched my shoulder with his deathly cold hands i woke up, shaking and crying and i was only 7 at the time ive had several other dreams like this where ive been chased, i always had nightmares as a child.

      But heres the weird part.....

When i turned 9 i met someone by the name of Joshua, today he is my best friend and i would give my life for him we connect in so many ways..
Strangely enough he had the EXACT SAME DREAM except his was inverted and everything was black and his man was in a black cloak with pure white eyes, and instead Joshua actually looked into the book and was showed hell(that which when i spoke to him he had an extremely difficult time trying to express it because he started shaking and it was so difficult for him to talk about the agony and death he saw) so he ran as well and came into a white void, but with tiny twinkling red stars and he got caught and was shown the book again, but then something strange happened...

I came, but not as a child as he had seen me but as an adult, i was in a white cloak with long flowing hair a pair of glasses and he said i was beautiful and he described my body a lil same as now. he described me a little as i look now, but older.

i had pushed down upon his chest and woken him up, just as i was he was shaking terribley and was drenched in sweat.

He says i appear in his dreams often, i save him from many terrible things....
Funny thing is, this dream happened RIGHT AFTER he had moved away from me, and i lost contact with him, and then i didnt have glasses..my hair was short..i looked nothing as i do now, and i never hit puberty and he had never seen me after that. But when we saw each other again after 6 years.. he completely freaked out because it was like he was reliving his dream.

So how then.. could he have seen me and why do i always appear to him to save him.
I am 16 now, and ive always felt a strange sense within myself, especially when i dream and when im around anything paranormal.

I had also had a time when i was 8 when i had fallen asleep one night and woke up with amnesia, i didnt remember where i was or what day it was, the time, or anything before that, it was like my life was erased from my mind, i have a few memories as a baby and toddler but i have nothing else, i dont remember life before i was 8, only my dreams and a few memories..

Id like someones imput on my situation..

      Sincerely, Mai.
