My recall was pretty poor, but I managed to remember one of the two from last night.

I am at work eating some muffins that someone brought. I guess I remember that I was trying to get lucid because I suddenly become lucid without any real reason. The dream goes dark, but I already have a bite of muffin in my mouth. I notice the chocolate chips and just focus on the taste and the act of eating. As I wait, someone starts talking to me in the bardo (void) and I respond something random before I wake up.

The other LD I wont count because all I can recall is noticing an FA and doing a nose plug, then getting out of bed. I remember being way to tired to try to recall and record and end up trying to record in a dream. I wake again and decide that I am just too tired to care.

I remember another super vivid non lucid dream about Wurlman. I go visit him in his house in the middle of a field. I look around and only see treeless farm in all directions. My wife and I are drinking with Wurlman and his wife and having a good time. I need to pee and for some reason do it outside next to my car. As soon as I start peeing all these random people show up and I have to make extra efforts to hide myself. People bring more beer and pizza and I join in but I can't get over the fact that P.P. is there. I don't like this guy and I don't understand why Wurlman invited him. I keep trying to ask Wurlman about this, but everything is too crazy and chaotic to be able to have a conversation until I wake up.

Congrats on the lds! Looks like you got the best of the first one with the chocolate chips. Bardo, huh? Have you been reading something buddhist by any chance? Anything interesting to share?

      Yay! Thanks!

Yep, Dhammapada, Tibetan Book Of The Dead, Tao Te Ching, as well Alan Watts and various Buddist monks on youtube. I've been reading and listening to a lot of Buddhist writings and teachings, but I'm not converting. I love everything about the philosophy and ideas about bettering ones self. Some things I can't follow and I don't keep up on my meditation like I'd want, but it's all been very "enlightening".

The Tibetan word bardo means literally "intermediate state"— also translated as "transitional state" or "in-between state" or "liminal state"(wiki). So the idea of a bardo being something that is a transitional stage has sunk in pretty well. I took the term from the Tibetan Book Of The Dead, but I think it can apply to the dreamstate and all the stages here and there and back again. I think that using this term over saying "void" seems to help me realize that it is really is a transition and doesn't always mean the end. It can be a stage between dreams or the transition to and from wakefulness. Either way, it's a state that is full of opportunities and I feel that a dream bardo is something that can be navigated to extend dream time or, in this case, get in that last bit of dream food. I almost never remember any of this in the moment, but that's why I am trying to imprint these ideas into my subconscious any way I can. Oops! That's a rather long way of saying I'm trying to not say VOID.

Sounds like some interesting reading Xanous, and I really love your thoughts on embracing the bardo as a place of transition! That sounds like the beginnings of a very positive schema, I'm sure it'll cross over to your dream mind soon enough.

Great LD too, I love eating in dreams! I actually spent a recent LD pigging out on muffins.

Nice! I love your lenghty explanations.

I think it's really good that you have found something like this to keep you inspired and that you can also relate it to lding. There is definitely a lot of good stuff in those teachings. Also, it's always great to read about you or bemistaken mentioning your practices, gives me some extra determination to work on mine as they have been slacking recently.

Treating the void like a transitional stage is a great idea. Maybe you will get to handle the idea so well that you will even start catching those mini transitions between non-lucid dreams.

Congrats on the lucid(s), Xanous! I was rooting for your muffin-eating plan to take you through into the next dream scene.

I also completely agree about treating the void as nothing more than a transition. I think that this is so important and it took me such a long time to grasp that amazing new dream scenes could emerge from the formlessness of the void.

In fact, the talk of "formlessness" along with Buddhism reminds me of something. In Christianity, Judiaism, and Islam, the "void" isn't the end... it's what preceded the beginning of the world.
