10/23/16- Only 3 Hours of Sleep

    by , 10-23-2016 at 02:14 PM (304 Views)
The frustrating thing about not sleeping is I am not having good dream recall. The strangest part about it is I rarely get more than 4-5 hours of sleep (even though I am in bed 7 hours) and I wake up feeling fine and still run, walk and ride bikes with plenty of energy. I feel as though I rarely really sleep even when I do sleep because I feel I am aware of everything going on around my physical body in bed and in my sleep. I feel I rarely get to a deep sleep. I try to think positive and feel that if I am in a relaxed state laying in bed it is good enough and I will be ok. I have been doing this for so long I guess it is normal for me. You just always hear that you need 7-10 hours of sleep and that just hasn't happened but I am hopeful that day will come. Ahhhhh I can only imagine my wonderful dreams then :-).

I don't think its possible to go without deep sleep, I think from scientific research (if you believe that kind of thing) you would be dead. So I think its safe to say you are getting some of that. Although maybe all you need is a very short dip in the ocean of deep sleep and your out again, refreshed (maybe its only your toes that get a dip).

Sleep is needed to try and restore ourselves therefore it depends on how much "stuff" we have suppressed in our subconscious. Or how much energy is trapped and not flowing, as to how zipperdy doo dar we feel.

Oh I am sure I dip into it at some point but I am also sure I don't get near enough! I want it!!! Whine! That's ok...I know I will get better....I think I block my sleepiness during the day and get a second wind at night. Plus reading on this site has gotten me excited so I want to try everything at once and that is NOT helping. I am going to just attempt to clear my mind which is usually running 100 mph when I lay down to go to sleep. I am going to read Sivason's Dream Yoga and see if that will help me. I get a lot of HH so I am excited to play around with that a bit in the future but first I need to just focus on sleep and work on the rest of this later.

Are that explains it...I wake up at the optimum time to wbtb but then am worrying to much...and don't get back to sleep till its time to get up.

I can't do any of those techniques that force lucidity. Mine have to just happen which I think is DILD or they get pissed off and I can't remember dreaming at all haha. No pressure works best for me. The good thing is I just have to work on recall and actually falling asleep. I want YOUR recall, you are so good at that! I had awesome recall as a teenager when I used to sleep in late but now I get up early even on the weekends.
