    Dream - Sayonara Lucid Dreamer

Date of Dream: THU 14 DEC - 2017

This is a bit of a different journal entry. Some aspects in this entry are recaps of specific events in waking life, due to my so short lucid dreams. I am not classifying this as a lucid dream as it does not meet my criteria.

Dream No. 242 - Sayonara Lucid Dreamer

As this journal has been written at night time, I've completely forgotten the non-lucid aspect of my dreams. The first lucid took place right at the end of the non-lucid dream. I was at my other grandma's house when I raised my hand in front of me and noticed six short fingers. Straight away I said to myself “I'm lucid. Yes I'm aware that I'm dreaming now”. As usual, the next stage of the lucid dream was to call for Dreamy WB who is my dream guide. I was diligent in calling for her but then the dream starts playing up on me!

Yes, the dream actually starts blurring in this wave-like motion, like with water in a lake. I notice the dream is trying to kick me out and so I say to myself, “You must stay asleep”. No matter what I did, it's like the dream and I were wrestling and the dream won in the end. I discovered that I woke up in the early hours of night, around 1:45 AM. I found out that through the course of the night, I tried to enter lucidity another three times but got kicked out immediately for all of them.

In one of the four attempts, I think it was either number two or three, I actually got to Dreamy WB in person shortly before being kicked out so I was able to make note of her appearance. She had her hair tied back into a frizzy pigtail and was wearing a light blue, short sleeved t-shirt with plain black shorts... I didn't pay attention to what she was wearing on her feet.

It was 9:30 in the morning when the last dream got the better of me. Since then, I gave up and decided to stay awake, preparing my thoughts for the day ahead.

Do you think about the dream waking you up right before you wake up? Perhaps you need to focus and not let the dream's changing setting get to you. or maybe you just had sufficient sleep.

Maybe I'm reaching, but it seems like the LDs just happened to occur at all the wrong times (ie before deep REM). Furthermore, if anything, such recurring short lucids during a run is usually a sign of fatigue.

DawnEye11: Yeah, I actually thought "Oh great, the dream's going to wake me up". But then at the same time, I was trying so hard to focus on the place that I was in.

FireFlyMan: I haven't really noticed any tiredness correlated to the end of that dream. The first lucid occurred right at the end of a long non-lucid dream.

Alright. Did you manage to get lucid last night?

No I didn't. By filling out a little logbook I created for myself, I discovered that I get lucid once every week if I'm diligent. Since my most recent lucid was on Thursday, I'm expecting the next one on Wednesday to Friday in the coming week.
