Lucid Time!

We are coming up on 550 DJ entries, my goodness.

That said. I know WBTB works, particularly because I usually (like I did last night) seem to WBTB twice, meaning that I have three chances to become lucid rather than one. (Once before the first awakening, once after the first awakening, and once after my second awakening.) I've just got to figure out ways of making it a very reliable technique. I'll make a list of factors (bedtime, food, mantras, etc) and maybe experiment with slightly different variations to see what produces the best results.


So the first dream was very odd. I was working with my parents and other people from our subdivision to plant rows of pine trees. This is because (IWL) our neighborhood is next to the clean water plant and when the winds are blowing the right way, our whole neighborhood can start smelling like a middle school bathroom. They said that they wanted pine trees because they were the best at catching the smell. I thought it was odd because I couldn't smell the clean water plant at all.

I became lucid and left everybody. It felt like we were in an orchard now, we had planted so many trees. I felt like doing a lucid dare even though I made those a lower priority now. I had a false memory that I had a lucid dare/totm to fly to the moon, that of I had falsely remembered that I was meeting there with DawnEye11. Or I remembered a previous LD where I had tried to fly to the moon and failed.

Flames on, we're flying! I looked down and saw that I was about fifty feet off the ground. All of the DCs stopped working on planting trees and stared up at me in amazement/confusion, asking how I was flying. You know, i'll be honest. It's starting to get old.

I looked up at the moon. I knew with my standard flying technique it would take me all night to fly to the moon. I had to cheat. So I looked up in the sky and imagined the moon coming closer. At first it didn't work, but then the blue sky turned black and the moon started to fill up my vision. I regained control. I was flying at hyperspeed through space.

The moon was coming up quick. I went around the dark side, sweeping low across the terrain. So low that I kicked up a bunch of moon dust and made a trail across the surface. I made a complete orbit and came around the dark side again, this time pulling 'up' twoard the north pole. There was a big flat crater here that looked like a good place to land.

I halted my velocity and thought to move down toward the surface only to go flying at the surface at some absurd speed. I had to quickly freeze myself again. I was only a couple miles above the surface now. It was also now that I noticed that the moon was kind of a beige/sandy color rather than grey.

Okay, I need to descend slowly! Just like in KSP landing on the moon is a delicate art...

I shot back down at hyperspeed, even faster than before. Everything went dark for a second and I heard rock and dust exploding. I stood up and I had made a fifty foot wide crater for myself. I'm so lucky that I am invincible. I still remember shouting something profane when I hit the moon though.

I decided I wanted to look up in the sky and see earth. But when I looked up at the direction I had came from, I didn't just see earth. I saw ALL the planets. They were all in a straight horizontal row, about moon sized in the sky. Some were a little bit bigger than others.

"Mercury... Venus... Earth... Mars... Jupiter... Saturn.. Uranus... Neptune... even Pluto!"

I started bouncing around in the gravity of the moon. Kudos to the dream for getting the gravity right. Even though I don't think I was wearing a space suit...

I then saw a plastic container full of art supplies, things like colored pencils, pastels, paints, etc. I remember thinking "How did that get here?" I tried to pick it up and examine it. It seemed like it was attached to the ground. I couldn't pull it up, but I could push it down given enough force.

I continued walking around. The beige/sandy color of the moon was beginning to shift to red, and I was starting to get a mars vibe. I saw a small canyon, that it looked like water had run through at one point. There was an Easter basket with a card on it.

I know it's a little late, but happy Easter. Hint: This basket weighs a lot."

Some how or other I picked up on the idea that this was like the cube from portal and I had to put it on the art supply case (button), so I did that. I heard a door open somewhere and saw a tiny trapdoor about halfway between the button and the spot where I found the basket. It looked like it carried on underground with a metal slide.

I wasn't sure how I was supposed to fit down there. I tried sticking one leg down the door and figured maybe some weird dream logic would take over and pull me down. But it didn't.

I tried to shrink myself, and I think it worked. I shrunk to about two feet tall, and at that point I fell down the slide into an underground facility. For some reason, the slide split into three. The slide on the right went to a shredder. The slide on the middle went to a sewing machine. The slide on the right would drop me into a bin full of newspapers. I tried to lean to the right but ended up going down the middle.

I came to the sewing machine. It was motion activated and a robot arm came out and tried to stitch me together, but I pushed it away as best I could. But when I got off at the end of the slide, my leg was full of stitches and bleeding everywhere. It didn't hurt though.

The room had an office feel to it. There were filing cabinets and in the middle, this big machine. For some reason I assumed it was for making comic books since the tag on the Easter basket read Stan Lee. A man in an office chair was facing a desk. He turned around. He had short black hair and looked to be about 40 years old.

"I am Rick Lee. Do you want to know the answer to life's greatest mystery?"

"Um... yeah... I'm bleeding a lot, do you have a bandage? What is life's greatest mystery, anyway?" I guess my lucidity and therefore my invincibility were wearing off...

"I know what Master Chief's face looks like! Here let me show you..."

I woke up.

I had an oversize zit (on my tooth...?) that I had to pop. It exploded with enough force to knock me over. I'm going to skip over the details because... this dream was really disgusting.

Something to do with playing this game with people in my neighborhood. Both kids and adults were throwing these hackney sacks at each other for fun.

I was semi lucid and for some reason my stomach kept growling. I got impatient and yelled "Shut up, I can eat when I wake up!"

I was pulled over by the side of the road. I recognized the area as part of my route to college. I had taken a barbecue grill out of my car and was grilling hamburgers for myself while I worked on my final project for my drawing class.

A squal blew in pretty quickly. I grabbed my drawing project and put it in the back seat of my car. I heard thunder and it had already started to rain. I knew I would have to come back for the grill.

...

I somehow found myself driving across someone's front lawn, knocking over their porch, fences, some small trees. I was semi lucid so I didn't really care. I got out of the car and had somehow transitioned to a plaza in the middle of a city.

I became fully lucid. I think I did a nose pinch RC just to confirm. I remembered my #1 priority dream goal. I knew I had to manifest her to figure out where to start.

"Manei, Kuansen Axio Sosunbulee. Alright she should show up any second now..."

I looked around and saw my parents appear. IWL they have been in LA all week, and they were happy to see me. I then saw my dead grandmother as well. For some reason she had ashes on one side of her face. This might have been a reference to the fact that she was cremated. I waved to her and she smiled and waved back.

Where is Manei...?

The dream faded to black and the scene changed. It was nighttime. I was standing on the surface of a lake. There were outlines of trees all around. The sky above was a bluish green nebula full of really bright stars. But, reflected on the lake it was a reddish-brown nebula, also full of really bright stars.

It took me a second to make her out, but I could see Manei. There were really interesting lighting conditions, she was lighted red from the bottom and blue on the top.

"So what's this about a naked picture of you on the internet?"

"You figured it out. It was only a test. You are too smart for your own good."

"So, everything is okay then?"

She floated over and hugged me. The amazing visuals went foul and the dream became more focused on touch. I've never been what you call a hugger but I hugged her back anyway. The last thing I remember was her leaning over and wispering into my right ear.

"Everything is okay."

For some odd reason I was able to see her face and the back of my head and shoulders when she said that. I lost the dream and woke up.



Even though it was only about 6:00, I couldn't go back to sleep. I sure tried though. I knew I was on a roll.
