    Lucid Time!

    Dreamviews Vs Series

Well I guess after four days of consecutive lucidity, I burned myself out. My dream recall dropped off the face of the earth, not only because of burnout but waking life reasons. I should get back on track very shortly. I can start by telling you about last nights dream, even though it was non lucid.

-Something to do with Manei appearing. She was bald and had elf ears and vampire fangs. (Still working on keeping that appearance steady, I see...)

Manei cropped up a couple of other times that I can recall. I recall in a boring dream, I got texted a picture of her.

I remember seeing her on my Skype contacts as well as a member on Dreamviews.

I also recall seeing her on a Minecraft server. She was however registered under the name 'Jade'. Her character looked like my dream self and seemed to be twitching. I think Herobrine appeared.

I was on the forums. There was this newcomer who had registered under the name Bulldog29. He was avidly learning the ropes of lucid dreaming and very excited, but he did come off as rather annoying at times.

He started a thread called the 'Dreamviews Veurses Series' where he would analyze lucid dreamers' abilities and have dreamers of similar ability fight one another in set-up fights. He would do one each week. I remember:

    Dreamer vs OpheliaBlue

    Hyu vs WakingNomad

    OnieronautZero
    vs Auron

there were many others, but the one that I remember actually taking the time and reading was the one that was me vs DawnEye11. I was looking through the thread, and there were a lot of people complaining that it was wildly inaccurate. I couldn't even find the OP's post to find out who won.

I remember a post by Sageous who was absolutely livid and spouting profanity that Dreamviews had come to this. His post was written in big font all capital letters. I can't remember the wording but he was talking about how dreamers shouldn't be made into pointless deathmatches and that this destroyed everything that Dreamviews stood for.

I know what you mean. Too much lucidity is like having a satisfied stomach. You end up wanting a break from it.

^ w ^ That sounds like it would make an interesting battle. I would so want to see that happen. hahaha If I could bet my money on a winner it would be tough though.
      me vs DawnEye11.
      o w O I wonder who would win....

I always make the analogy that it is like working out. Since you can get in and out of shape physically, you can get in and out of lucid dreaming shape in much the same way, and you can burn yourself out. (I would know, because especially in recent months I've been pushing myself hard in all aspects of my life and wound up burning myself out.)

So in that respect, the goal is to become as in shape as an Olympic athlete, but with lucid dreaming. Or in the food analogy you want to become Joey Chestnut. Just like anything else you have to train and build up your endurance. I know you can progress. (After all, I'm miles from where I was when I started.) Though I would argue that building up your lucid dreaming endurance, if you will, does take a frustrating amount of time.

One of the things I noticed is how my reality checking habits have started to change. For all the years I've been lucid dreaming, I would still find distractions that would stop me from reality checking. (Movies, Video Games, Etc.) I would be engaged with them for hours at a time without RCing. Now, when I watch a movie or play a game, I tend to stop every once in awhile and RC.

I would actually put my money on you. After all, I can only really fly, punch, kick, and tank a lot of damage. You have your pink energy, something that I cannot reliably match. My bending skills, while they used to be decent early on aren't something I have practiced. That's why I wanted to try to do the TOTM.

If dream guides are involved, you still have the advantage. From what I can gather Dawn and Eye are both fairly good at fighting. I know that Jack can fight decently. (Though I beat him way back before I joined the site; he challenged me to a fight in a dream.) If Marcus could come in, I don't know what inventions he would bring. I haven't really seen him make weapons or fight much.

I don't think i want to become like a Olympic athlete for lucid dreaming. It feels like working for the Olympics involves much more work. But perhaps its cause we approach our goals differently.

Its good that you are trying to get better. : 3 For me I would compare my RC to the times where I ask myself what i was doing.

what kind of power you have doesn't really matter. It would be more about the way you use your mind and will power to defeat the other person.

IF Marcus is really a genius he would find a way. xD
