After the competition I've still been getting lucid and having interesting non lucids. However, I haven't had the motivation to write them down. I also feel that I slack when it comes to completing missions.I attempted to complete the dhl mission but failed and after that haven't tried again. During the competition I wasn't even motivated enough to calculate my comment points because we were far from the points the other team had. I don't think I will be joining the next competition and I don't think I make a good dhl hero because I put my personal goals above it.

Perhaps after I start school I will try and start writing my dreams again. I may even attempt a mission but right now it seems unlikely.

    Shikamaru's face says it all.

looks like your motivation goes south... i have the feeling that with this the lucids soon will go too and then the vivid cool dreams... hope i am wrong.
do you have indeed "personal goals" or do you just make the best out of every lucid?

or maybe you just learned something new and therefore inducing is easier to you so not so much will change

me for myself also noticed that after the comp. i needed to fill and replace my motivation and my goals. but i have learned a little about morning induction and therefore still get lucid. indeed i even increased my daywork because i noticed during the comp that i most of the time only got lucid once and needed to use a formal induction technique not like before where i did way more daywork. so i want to get to my old random and incidental lucids again

my momentary goals are: - meet myself and have a talk & try to find my dreamguide...

because this goals somehow are vague i often try one of both shortly, when it fails i fall into random lucid drifting^^ somehow fun but i see how my recall gets leaky now and then and i maybe fall into nld-parts. (i am not sure about that)

I know what you mean, I didn't try to work out the comment points as the other teams seamed way ahead and secondly it seemed a real pain in the ass to count them all.
I feel your approach to the competition was a good one, I got a bit to stressed about it. I even prayed for a lucid literally for goodness sake, which is maybe getting a little to serious LOL. As a result I was totally burnt out afterwards and my recall even went down to zero, and I felt kind of lousy for a few days.
Your personal goals seem pretty sane to me.

Hmm...Its not like I'm throwing lucidity away completely. But it does depend on my mood. If I don't intend to lucid dream when i close my eyes and am about to sleep I most likely will just be non lucid.

My personal goals I usually make up when I'm about to fall asleep. It's like a "This is tonight's personal goal" or I just make the goal up in the dream. Like when I failed the mission I decided to train myself to be stronger and less afraid that night.

^^That's interesting. I hope you get your incidental lucids again. Sounds like you do a lot to get lucid.

Those are nice goals and yeah, you can become non lucid or forget things if you do just go with the flow. That happened to me in my recent lucid where I was observing my dream guide and interacting with characters for fun.

Hehe xD I'm glad you understand what I mean. There was a way that would make it easier however I guess we were just too lazy for that too. My approach was okay but could have been better. I didn't write the dreams after I woke up and ended up forgetting some. Lol You prayed to have a lucid. Isn't that cheating? Joking aside I'm sorry you felt burnt out. Competitions can be stressing at times. I remember being stressed at a time too. My personal goals are sane I guess but at times I feel like I'm being selfish/lazy too.

Haha, I feel the way you do about these competitions. All that pressure to perform and achieve, totally not my style either. Personal goals are a good direction, until you find a group or game you want to play.

What are your personal goals these days?

^w^Thx for commenting. Knowing others are the same way doesn't make me feel so alienated. I haven't played much games here though....So I don't know. If I do end up trying another game I hope I'm better motivated to do it because i wanted to do the dhl thing. But I ended up putting it aside after failing. My personal goals these days have been to 1.Discover something new about the dream world or myself. 2.Bring Kiro (An old reoccurring character) into my dream and observe him.(I did end up changing my mind though and observed Dawn instead) 3. To be stronger in my dreamworld and to overcome my fears if they pop up.(For example,I ended up having a dream about the reaper last night and kicked him on his chest area. XD He ended up being okay with it and joked about it in a friendly way. Death is one of my fears but I think I'm more tolerable about cemetery or death dreams now than I was before. However, that doesn't mean I like them or want them. Guess I'm just accepting them if they pop up in my dream. :/ )

I think everyone should skip a month or mostly focus on one comp at a time. This is just my opinion. It's a lot of pressure to put on someone. I've skipped the totm for August to focus on the Spellbee comp but I'm looking forward to the totm for September! But I do write in my journal on here every day reguardless. They say that is the most fundemental thing of lucid dreaming & I believe that. Even if it's a crap night. Or at least write it down for yourself somewhere. I hope you have a great year in school! Looking forward to looking for you on here every day though. You have reminded me how to dream from the eyes of a younger person. Thank you for that!

X3 You are so dedicated. I admire that. Yeah, I agree about leaving time to rest but it still feels like it's not gonna work out for me. Idk. But thanks for the uplifting comment. Thanks, I hope this year will be great as well. Last time it was kind of annoying but the good thing is I have art related classes now. : ) I'll still come by dreamviews when i can. I'm also glad I was able to remind you of the eyes of a younger person. hehe But I don't think your that old. Old is 70. XD So you still got lots of youth left in you.

Sure, death can be scary. You know, there's this really good comic book series and I know you're into anime so it's in a similar realm of things. There's a character named Death in the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman DC Comics Sandman. She's a reaper, sure, but she's not the typical frightening vision many tend to associate with death. She's compassionate and reasonable, a very unique character. Learning to see past roles and titles can help you overcome fears, such as death, and Death in the Sandman series totally puts a personality to the role she's filling.

Reading has a way of changing how you think and eventually the way you think drizzles into the way you dream.

Working on goal three will inevitably meet goal one Glad you're back btw! I know things were up in the air for a bit.

Thanks for the suggestion. : D I read what I think was volume 2 after looking for her but what I saw was a guy that looked like her. The drawings were unique for me and inspiring. So was the story but it was kind of confusing as well. Maybe its cause the way the panels are positioned or because I didn't read the beginning. I might try reading it again another time. She does seem like an interesting and likable character. Yeah, I can see how it would help me meet my first goal now. Thanks! Idk...I come and go but I'm happy to be here thx to you all and appreciate your warm welcome. ^w^

Sometimes if you put so much pressure on yourself for a while you will burn out. Most types of competitions are like that. I burned out a lot too and have had crappy recal but okay lucidity. It is okay to take a break for a bit and reset your motivation. Don't last as long as I did though since I forgot to get back into it for 3 years. Don't stress yourself about DHL missions. There is no hurry to get points and you can wait until you really wan't to do it. Always do your personal goals! If DHL happens to be your personal goal then great but if not go for what ever your heart desires!

Thanks! I will keep that in mind. : ) Its wasn't about the dhl points though. I just wanted to get into doing it but lost the drive to try again. But I will try again when my heart is in it like you suggested.
