    Inherited plantation

I was a young man, in my 20s. I was a plantation owner, or rather my father used to own the plantation and I had just inherited it. We were in financial trouble, a lot of slaves had run away, and I was determined to free the rest and pay them wages and hope they would stay. I was determined that I would keep the home and the gardens and orchard at least if we could keep it up. What was weird that I seemed to see this home and property for the first time, so I explored it and looked at its potential.

In the orchard in front of the house I was surprised by how huge and red the apples were. I picked one, but most were too high up - I would need to return with a ladder. I noticed that the birds were stealing some of the apples. One apple started flying off right next to me, and I had to jump up a bit to catch it. We played a tug of war but the bird won and got away with the apple. Throughout it all, I could not see the bird - I thought it must be hidden behind the apple and be smaller in size than the apple, but surprisingly strong. When the apple flew away, I found a bug like a dragonfly remaining on my hand. For a moment I wondered whether it could have been my oponent in the apple tug of war, but then realized that was impossible because the apple and whatever was pulling it flew away.

I went back to the house, and explored the kitchen. There was a rather large potted tree growing in the kitchen. It had branches that were spreading on the ceiling with an intricate pattern formed by the small needle shaped leaves. I worried whether I would water it often enough but figured my servants would take care of it.

One of my servants though expressed concern because one of the slaves who had run away was the cook, and how were we going to feed ourselves. I said that I could cook, but he was skeptical. I responded by saying something like "Are you used to eating as fine as the masters then?" And he said that actually yes because the cook used to just make more of everything, and they would eat the leftovers. I said not to worry I would look up recipes that were good enough for their liking.

Around then I started waking up, and I am not sure whether I was still asleep when I had the thought that I could not look the recipes up on the Internet though because that had not been invented yet.

Previous tiny fragment: I remember there was two of something, either two kids or two car garage, or two beds, not sure what. That's all I remembered when I woke up at my usual time, so I decided to go back to sleep and sleep in today, and that's when I had the fabulous plantation dream above.
