Another College Fail Dream, and Dallas's Bagels

    Dream - Lucid

I had some college courses I had signed up for, 4 or 5, but had only gone to a few classes. I was trying to recall the last time I attended class. I wanted to drop them, but it may have been too late in the semester and I was going to have to fail them. I had someone that I was with look on a computer at my grades for me because I was too embarrassed to. I don't think there were any failing grades, strangely. but I kept thinking about missing tests and how that had to affect it. I then thought about the teachers calling roll every day and my name still being on the roll because I hadn't dropped the class yet.

Dallas was ordering food. He got a sandwich and a bunch of everything bagels, some in a bag and I think he was carrying one. I was thinking about how that couldn't be healthy for him to eat so many bagels. I wasn't hungry, but I had food too. I went to go into this room that was supposed to have a long table and some chairs in it to eat on, but looking through the window, I saw a bunch of small desks and chairs in two vertical lines. No one was sitting in them. I opened the door and saw there was a teacher in there, a young man. I suppose he was getting ready to test his class or something. We still wanted to sit in there and eat, and he seemed ok with that. He then asked me to hang him a croissant. He pronounced it very French-like. I was looking around for them but didn't see them immediately. I then saw a plastic container with some slightly overdone croissants in it. I handed him one. I then sat down.

I was never a big fan of college dreams, nor the work dreams that I used to have If college is stressing you out too much, do this exercise before going to bed, it will help!

A great exercise that I want to share with you, is for you to imagine that you have a faucet attached in your lower back (the back of your Solar Plexus Chakra) and when you take a shower (take an actual shower) imagine that you open this faucet and imagine that muddy water comes out of this faucet. You know, like gross water, smelly and dirty. Visualize this water going down the drain and getting washed away. Set the intent for this water to be all the negativity that does not belong to you. Imagine that this water is about everything you need to release, other people, negative experiences, negative feelings, stress, karma, etc… Keep this visualization for a few minutes and you will realize how much it will relieve you, it is an amazing exercise that I personally practice.

I used to have college stress dreams all the time, even years after I graduated. They usually revolved around me forgetting entirely about a class for months, or forgetting to do a paper, etc. Very stressful. I like PercyLucid's exercise idea; there is plenty of stress in my life now (without college) that I would like to get rid of.

I totally feel your pain on this. What is it with these "I forgot to drop a class" dreams? I still get those and I've been out of college for years! I've seriously had a dream almost exactly like this.

Funny thing is is that I finished with college in 2011, yet here I am still having these dreams. O_O

That exercise/visualization actually sounds like something that would work for me. Visualization is one of the things that work well for me when I am meditating. I'll give it a try!

Glad I'm not the only one! Mine have been coming so frequently lately! Maybe because of work stress or stress trying to figure out what to do with my life? I really don't know. Any ideas?

Yeah, I tend to agree that these are just a really common way for anxiety dreams to manifest. For whatever reason, that terror of forgetting to drop some class I'd long since given up on has stayed with me! I never actually forgot to drop a class in this way but I guess it was something that if I ever forgot it, would lead me to some hopeless, doomed struggle and ultimately me ruining my life.

If you're experiencing a lot of work stress and life stress, I could definitely see this being the reason. Lately my anxiety-themed dreams have been way more specific (getting our game done ), but in the past I've had a lot of these generalized ones that bring up some old fear.

Good luck with the stresses you're dealing with right now! I'm sure that as things ease up for you in waking life, the dreams will settle down too.

One thing I recommend is to go to sleep with as playful and carefree of a mindset as possible. Try to leave your day's concerns behind you. (I so often fail at this, so this is advice for me as well!) Someone like you with cool, wild dreams and good recall should be spending that dream time just getting to play and enjoy!
