The last two nights i have had two dreams with reoccurring dreams. the first one, i was reading an article about pig farming, and the cruel way the pigs were treated. The mother died after giving birth, or was killed, the piglets desexed immediately, and sold when they were only one day old.
then it was night and i was on a broad, empty street, it was raining and there was a gale blowing the rain sideways. there was a day old piglet being swept along, and i was running after him to try and capture and rescue him, but he was terrified, and tried to get away from me. i finally caught him and wrapped him up in my jacket, squeezing him tight to my chest, until his panicked heart beat slowed down and he realised he was safe.
and then next i was in a boat with a bunch of people, in the compartment below the waterline. as i looked around i recognised some of the faces from pictures in the article i had read. then a reporter asked two of the "animal abusers", two young guys, to recount their story. as they recounted the story it happened, and i became one of the guys. one of the windows burst open and the water came surging in, so strong it pushed them out the other side. but a whale swam past the boat and prevented them from being swept out, and pushed them back into the boat. i was left puzzled, because i didn't know if the boys had actually harmed the whale or done anything wrong.

the next night, i dreamed i was looking after two baby orphaned animals i had rescued a few days ago, one was a black puppy, the other was a lamb or a white poodle i don't remember. i was keeping them in tiny little cages because it was all i had, and when i went to check on the puppy, i found he was covered in his own poo. i asked my host father (currently in real life i am on student exchange, living with a host family, although this man did not resemble my real host father, he was sort of brutish with an unsympathetic face) if he could show me how to give the dog a bath. he chucked the puppy in the bath tub and filled it with water, which was blue like the ocean, and then held him at arms length so he wouldn't splash water on the floor, and told me to do the same and just let him sit in the water. when he left i ignored his instructions, i got into the bath and washed the dog properly. i also gave the lamb/poodle a wash.
then i was a girl on a ship, leaving the docks, we bumped another boat on the way out, causing the ship to rock and my windows to dip below the waterline. when i looked down into the water i could see the dim outline of a whale. i don't really remember what happened next, i think i was swimming in the water trying to find the whale, which might have turned into a dolphin or another sea creature. and then i was on a beach with a group of friends, and in the water was a group of mermaids, we had somehow rescued. one of the mermaids and i fell in love, and we had sex underwater. she told me it was her first time, and she had always worried that she would never have sex, because all of the mermaids were girls. (this doesn't really make sense, since i am a girl, but for some reason all of the mermaids had penises, although different from human penises)
