    1. Spy Handlers and Guest Stars

      by , 09-12-2017 at 03:41 PM
07-29-2017 -- Well, this one is strange and abrupt. First thing I can remember, I am walking to Lucky or Thrifty for a bottle of soda, it is late at night, and there is this little kid who is asking me all kinds of questions. All I can remember of the conversation is being very snarky with all my answers. All I remember of the setting is being roughly at Tamarack and Dale, walking along. There is a creepy vibe, nothing with me and the kid, but just an odd feeling that something is wrong, just underlying everything.

The kid just suddenly reaches the point where he wants to go home, but I still want to get my soda, so he says something that hints at maybe stealing one or something, and I make a snarky comment about hoping he doesn't do so, because that would make him a bad person, instead of the good, but insufferably annoying person that I think he is. Anyway, I buy a two liter of A&W and stick it in my pocket, and we leave the store. We are soon walking on Tamarack headed for Hickory, and as we pass a very large black girl (late teens to early 20s) she makes some sort of rude and slightly threatening comment to me, and I can't figure out why. Can't see anything I've done or said to her to deserve it. Kind of glance at some slightly punk teen blacks in the area who don't seem to have any problem with me, and they just shrug, with no idea.

The kid sort of vanishes, so we probably passed his house and he wandered off. I am now walking down Hickory, and the ground is very wet, with puddles I am trying to avoid, and a couple of the black punks are doing the same, and we almost kind of get in each others' way in trying to avoid the puddles, but again, it causes no actual problems. Though I almost think there may be issues when I am forced to jump over someone's 10-speed, and I don't jump far enough and land on the middle of it. Thankfully, I am very light on my feet, so no harm done.

I wander along, now alone, and soon reach Greenleaf and cross over to my own block, and run into friends or associates at the corner house. This gets really weird, really quick. Me and a guy here are good friends, and somehow as a sort of a prank, he has got me dressing up in a powder blue sweater that belongs to one of the girls, and we are making comments to try and make her look at me closely enough to notice. The other girl (both of them are fairly cute at this moment, but that will change quickly) makes a comment about how she fills it out far better than I do, while the other is holding up various bits of lingerie and commenting on how I ought to try wearing the rest of her clothes, and I'm completely out of my depth.

The comment about filling it out better is becoming absurdly true, as the two girl are morphing into very freakishly odd people. The one whose sweater I am in has now got a set so large they are hanging down past her belly button, but that is almost normal, compared to the other. She is now over seven feet tall, dangerously thin, and wearing a sort of iso-skeleton-like set of crutches to even allow her to stand, while wearing a slightly see-through top, with her pair hanging down to her ankles, looking almost offensively freaky. We're all walking down the street, talking, and our discussion is turning more and more to spies and secret agents and handlers, and things are changing again.

I am still physically there, but I am turning into someone else, who is kind of whining about who I am being forced to handle, because it turns out the agent (or more properly the 'asset' 'I' am supposed to be keeping under some kind of control is Bellatrix Lestrange, and she's a stone-cold killer and bat-shit crazy), and the whole 'game' is getting out of hand. I turn off to walk into my back yard (though I am not me) when a poorly maintained lime green car turns into the driveway, and I start to run through the side yard toward the alley, because I know it is my handler, and I figure I am either in trouble for not controlling Bellatrix well enough, or for something evil that she's done, and I fear they are either going to kill me, or force me to do something horrible, so I am on the run.

Expecting to be shot at any moment, I dodge sideways through the supposed fence between my yard and the neighbors' yard, then into the alley and down a few yards. As the scene starts, I am Harold Finch from Person of Interest, but within a few seconds, he's the handler that I am running from.

There has just been a lightning strike, moments before I reached one place in the alley, and I climb the fence into a backyard that just had its satellite dish fried, where I run into a slightly older version of Claudia Christian, who is my sister or my girlfriend (not sure which), who is also forced to handle a crazed psychopath, and we're muttering about getting out of the 'game' while grabbing our things and trying to run out onto Dale and away, when we come face to face with another agent who looks kind of like a near-death Carrie Fisher with a gun ready to shoot us if we don't stop. Very strange and disjointed.
    2. WA Reunion Ruined by Politics, Shrunk Cars Cause Mass Collapse

      by , 06-13-2017 at 07:44 PM
05-29-2017 -- The earlier one was also a bit strange. It seemed to be an odd cross between a political convention and a family reunion. We were in Washington, probably in the Snohomish house, except it was two or three stories and fairly large. There was a lot of discussion of old candies and stuff that were no longer available, but that we were trying to figure out how to recreate (including some sort of peanut butter cereal that we were determined to create again) while at the same time talking with the two lousy candidates from the recent election, and also an independent candidate or two who would have been far better than either of the real candidates.

Some of the folks from church were around (including Tom Drick and Jeff Steinberg), and I think Randy was the one actual relative that I could find in the family reunion that I recognized. I think in the dream, the absolute worst candidate won, and we ended up with Hillary as president, but we were at least happy that the very good independent choice (who I cannot remember ... maybe it was some TV hero or something) got some electoral votes or something. But whatever the exact results were, I was very disgusted, and decided that I needed to get out of there and take a break.

The problem was, the reunion was huge, and there was a driveway kind of like Dale's, long and narrow and blocked in, and when I went looking for my car to drive off, there were dozens of cars gridlocked in, and even when I went looking for it, I couldn't find my gray Corolla among them, much less be able to get it out of there. The problem was, there were so many cars (now turning into hundreds) that they somehow had to start shrinking them to fit them all in, so that they were piled 3 and 4 high, but were only about two feet by four feet in size. So now I'm looking through these hundreds of tiny cars, on several levels of a sort of parking garage structure that had been put together in this small driveway space.

But something went wrong, and the cars all seemed to still have their full mass even if they were suddenly about a tenth of the size, and they were starting to collapse the structure, because there was too much weight, and that caused the cars to start reverting to their normal size, and they were all beginning to crush together and break apart, while the parking structure was being forced to expand to contain them, and was tearing apart ever quicker.

Soon it was like one of the earthquake movies, with us running through the levels trying to get out, as things collapse around us, avoiding being squished by falling cars and concrete. We finally made it out of the structure and away from the house and driveway, thinking we were probably finally safe, just to find that we had such a large group and so much mass squeezed into such a small space that the exploding, re-expanding mess was now continuing to expand and started to fill up the entire state, somehow also causing horrible flooding.

Somehow we were stuck in a sort of garbage barge with huge flowing masses of the expanding damaged cars and structures, where we had to keep scrambling to stay on top of the stuff, so that we didn't get pulled into the huge hydraulic crushers that would have mashed us into a pulp. All very frightening and horrible, but still interesting to 'live' through.
    3. Exploring Haunted Secret Passage House, Cross of HP/DW/BtVS

      by , 06-13-2017 at 07:22 PM
03-25-2017 -- An ever-morphing cross between HP, BtVS, and DW. A group of us (an odd mixture of regular people, Harry Potter and Buffy characters) are exploring a large old house that I've explored before in many dreams. Sometimes things remain normal, sometimes they get a little strange, but this one got odder than usual. I'm sort of a Xander-like character, just the normal guy that stuff kind of happens to/around.

The house seems to be morphing into a kind of a cross between Grimmauld Place, the house from the Classic Who episode Ghostlight, and the hotel from the Shining. There is a very evil, corrupting feel to the place, and an odd variety of ... creatures ... are popping out at us, trying to scare us and frighten us, yet over time you almost get the kind of feeling that they are past victims, themselves, now trapped in the place.

At one point, we're exploring one room, and Tonks steps on an area where the floor is weak, and it collapses under her, dropping her into a room in a lower level of the house. The problem is, it is not only a lower level, but also is somehow located in another time, so while we can see her, and are trying to rescue her, we're having a really hard time reaching her. Thankfully the Doctor (the 10th Doctor) arrives, and manages to bridge the gap, so to speak, and rescues her from the evil cat-girl who was after her. So now we're wandering the halls of the horrible place together.

The corrupting influence is still there, but now it is kind of muted, and not as strong, and we realize the TARDIS's telepathic circuits are kind of holding the evil influence at bay. Because of this, the Doctor has got it on a sort of old-fashioned looking pallet jack, and is wheeling it around with us. One of our members is being referred to as 'Dog-Boy,' and I can't help but wonder if it might be Xander, with a hint of the Hyena possession coming out, due to the evil spirit of the place.

Soon we find ourselves in a large room, perhaps a kitchen or a living room, I'm not sure which. One of the beings we're fighting against seems to be a slightly sweet, slightly sassy girl with a sort of a Victorian appearance, who is actually rather cute, and I am sort of falling for her. In the house, only seen under the low lighting of flickering candles, she looks almost completely normal, but then I catch her in direct sunlight pouring in from an uncovered window, and suddenly the makeup on her face shows a completely different image, of a very evil looking clown with razor-sharp, long, demonic teeth.

Doesn't stop me or change how I feel, though. I look her in the face, and explain I am a sometimes clown, too. She doesn't believe me, and I start explaining about the face I designed for my clown. In real life it was a classic white face appearance, with small purple highlights around the eyes and the lips, but in the dream I was explaining it as a rich, violet purple face with white highlights around the eyes, which would probably look rather frightening, itself.

I am explaining how I did a lot of work with balloons, while she is playing with a yellow balloon poodle (sans head), when somebody randomly asks "Hey, where's Dog-Boy?" One of the other enemies, a bit of a mean one, just starts laughing, and says he was killed three days ago, and we never even noticed until now. Personally, to me it only feels like we have been here a few hours, so I'm figuring it was much more recent, but it is still a terrible thing, and as he's still laughing like a loon, I decide to take my revenge on him. I grab a pink bee-body (a kind of twisting balloon) and try to inflate it to pop it at him, but my balloon is full of holes, and won't inflate. So I ask the evil clown girl if I can borrow one of her red ones, and she lets me. The problem is, no matter how big I blow the thing up, it just will not pop! I'm getting more and more frustrated with the thing.

Others are discussing what might have happened to Dog-Boy, and I take the opportunity to spent a little time kissing my evil clown, while also trying to think of a way to save her. Somebody makes an odd mention that kind of indicates that Cat-Girl and Dog-Boy got together for a short time in another time, and had a kid. While others are trying to figure out the logistics of that, I suddenly grasp on an idea of time travel, and saving even the earlier victims of the place, by maybe traveling back in time, saving them and taking them all to another time to safely live out a good life, then bringing them all back to this time for the ending of it all, letting them all have most of a good life.

I start to search out the Doctor, wanting to explain my plan to him, and find him right outside the front door of Draynor Manor, somehow managing to exit the door that is usually entrance, only, and approach him with my idea, but as I run the idea through my mind, trying to figure out the best way to explain it, I can just picture him, ever-more-clearly, muttering about fixed points in time, and how it can't be done, and by the time I reach him, I just kind of glare at him, reproachfully.

"What?!?" he demands, at the way I'm looking at him. "Never mind," I mutter, and start to walk away. But he demands to know why I'm looking at him like that, and I explain the whole idea, and as I expect, he starts muttering about fixed points, and impossibilities, and starts to get angry at me, and accuses me of either being possessed by the evil spirit, or perhaps not even being myself at all, but a replacement that has been foisted on us, and I just re-enter the manor, to see what little I can do for the poor past victims.

As I get back to the kitchen or wherever it is that most of us are now at, a strange cross between Rory and Angel is in the process of hanging a huge pack of firecrackers on the wall of the place, while an equally odd cross of Amy and Buffy is wielding a crossbow and trying to shoot the firecrackers to light the fuse. The idea is to set them all off, which will start a large fire on the wall, which will quickly spread to the entire evil house, burning it to the ground, and destroying all the evil victims within it. I am trying to block the shot, keep it from happening, and figure another way out of things, but I'm just not having any luck.

Just before they manage to send the place up like a roman candle, an earlier version of the 10th Doctor bursts through the back wall, accompanied by Rose and Jack, all three carrying big, shiny, advanced sci-fi weapons, as the Doctor confronts the smallest, meekest, shyest member of our party, and exposes -them- as the one who has been replaces and is working against us (instead of me, as he accused earlier) and says he managed to take my plan and make it work, so now everybody has managed to be saved. Which is when I woke up.
    4. The Doctor and the Daleks of Death

      by , 05-02-2016 at 04:28 PM
05-02-16 -- I'm playing some sort of Doctor Who video game, but the longer I play, the more it seems to be turning to real life. (I can still see myself pressing keys to try and move around, but I'm moving me around in a real-life situation.) I believe I am traveling around in a somewhat hospital-like building, when I find we're being attacked by Daleks. I take off running, and the Daleks are following fairly closely behind, and I can't seem to manage to get away from them.

Soon I find myself in a hallway with three elevators, and I dive into one of the elevators, and start pressing buttons, and instead of moving between floors, I am traveling through time. The problem is, the Daleks almost seem to have managed to link to me, somehow, so every time I try and go a few days further into the past, so I can have time to prepare for the Dalek invasion, they have somehow started their invasion a few days early, and are right there waiting for me, as the doors open again.

In addition, the elevators are also working as elevators, and moving to different floors of the building at the same time. The problem is, the middle elevator has no buttons, and if you enter into it, you are stuck going wherever it takes you, with no control over where you are going, and I am popping in and out of the various elevators like I was in a Scooby Doo chase scene. At one point, I dive into an elevator, and find it is the one with no controls, so I dive out again, almost getting caught in the closing doors. I try to dive into the next elevator over, but its doors slam in my face, so I throw myself at the third elevator, and only just manage to throw my arm in as the doors slam on it, then bounce back open again, so I can get in.

This seems to give me a tiny bit of breathing room, but only a tiny bit. I throw myself into an 'office' of the hospital, and explain to the other Time Lords what is going on, and how I am crossing my own timeline, trying to find a way to defeat the Daleks, but that they are somehow time traveling at the same time, and always beat me to it. And as I am explaining, we can hear the laser blasts and screams from other parts of the hospital, as the Daleks are here, but just haven't reached this room, yet. And though I think I am going to be in trouble with them for crossing my owns paths in the time stream, the situation is important enough that they don't seem to care. Unfortunately, the only advice they have for me is something along the lines of 'embrace death.'

The Daleks are getting ever closer, and I head off at a run, bursting into what appears to be a basketball court, and dodging some players who may be real-life friends of mine (one of them possibly Nick), before I run out another door and through more office-like areas. I finally make it to a corner office, where I run in and find myself facing the Grim Reaper, skeleton, black robes, and all. I launch myself at him, wrap my arms around him, and we both smash through the window, and find ourselves falling hundreds of feet.

Somehow this is supposed to allow Death to see multiple realities or time line possibilities or something, so that he can spot an action that I can take that will allow me to beat the Daleks, but instead he is just crying about how all paths now lead to the end of everything, and there is not a single hope left in the entire universe. Very depressing and horrifying. Except ... even though Death cannot see a way through it all, I suddenly know what to do, and how to fix it, even as we are still plunging to our deaths. And then I wake up.
    5. Rescuing a Friend from Abuse, Doctor Who, and the Scifi Convention

      by , 10-07-2015 at 10:16 AM
06-14-2015 -- So I'm sitting on a curb in a bad neighborhood, eating something. I'm a little scared something bad is going to happen, but it is late at night, there is almost nobody on the street, and I am sitting in a small space between my car and another one, in the shadows, and am almost invisible. Some woman spots me, though, and thinks I am homeless or something, so is coming over to offer me some food or help, and I'm trying to explain I don't really need it.

I start to stand up, and put a backpack or something on the convenient gate of a nearby truck, but as I am getting to my feet, it starts to drive off with my stuff. So I jump to my feet and start to chase after it, but I can't run fast enough. So I kind of launch myself into the air and fly forward, and land on the roof of the truck. It is now more or less a box truck, the kind with the cab separate, so the guy doesn't hear me land on the roof. He gets to a restaurant he is going to, and I jump off the back and more or less fly inside so I am already there when he walks in, and he doesn't suspect I got there on his roof.

But as I get inside, things start to change around, and I find myself near someone I *think* is Sharon N. (not sure because it has been a very long time.) She is scared and freaking a bit, and I find she and her mother are being abused, and she hears her mother crying out in pain, so she pulls out a gun and is preparing the shoot the guy doing the abusing. At this point, I am halfway there, and halfway just watching the dream happen.

I grab the gun from her, and explain her fingerprints would get her caught. Instead I wipe the gun down, then fasten it into a table-mounted vice, with it pointing out the window and right down where the guy is dragging her mother, and when he's in the right position, I push the trigger with a stick and it shoots him. We run out of there quickly, and have left no evidence behind, but because we're running, they're chasing us.

We split up, but are meeting in Sharon's college dorm room, which is on about the 15th floor of a residence hall or something, and I'm just running up stairways trying to find a way to loose the cops chasing us. And there are lots of other students running around, and stuff happening, and things are just getting a bit stranger all the time, and that's where my memory just kind of fades away, though more may have happened in the first dream.

[Anyway, I woke up, and worked at remembering the dream, but was feeling sick, and didn't have anything to write it down at, so I just kept thinking about it and trying to remember it, and falling asleep while I did so.]

Soon I was trying to remember the dream within a dream, but within the dream little bits and pieces kept changing, and soon I find I either was, or was travelling with the Doctor, and was trying to keep things happening the way they were supposed to, while the timeline kept changing around me. Amy Pond was my companion.

[Soon I woke from that dream, and found myself trying to remember the original dream, and the remembering the dream dream (which obviously almost nothing stuck around from), but still had no way to remember it, and drifted off into sleep again.]

This time I found myself arriving at some sort of science fiction-related event, somewhere in California, and somehow I had managed to fly out for this massively cool thing, even though I was only going to be able to be here for the single evening. And things are just about to start, and I am trying to ask about getting a ticket. And for some reason it would be really helpful to have these odd goggle-like things, but they are expensive, and I cannot afford to buy one.

But there is a lady there who has a few pairs, and is considering renting them out as a sort of business, and I explain to her that I could really use a pair, since I am only going to be here for the single night, and she says I would need to have my ticket, first. I need to speak to Someguy. There was a name there, but I sure can't remember who it was. Anyway, he had just walked away, and I try to follow him to ask about the ticket, but he's climbed up into almost a sort of DJ booth, and I am calling out to him, but with my voice he can't hear me, and doesn't want to speak to anybody, anyway.

The event has started now, and I am already missing it, and I'm ticked off and annoyed, and mad enough that I am ready to just stomp out. But then I realize I am in California, and actually, though I thought it was Los Angeles, it turns out to be in San Diego, and I suddenly think I could call Bynner and arrange to meet him somewhere for a meal (maybe In and Out) before I have to fly back in the morning, which would be kind of neat.
    6. The CDL Class, the Chase, and the Jungle Restaurant

      by , 12-31-2013 at 08:23 PM
12-30-2013 -- On a college campus somewhere, probably Fullerton College, trying to finally finish registering for my CDL class, but every time I think I am close to finished, I find there is ever more that I have to do. So I am in the admissions office, filling out paperwork and trying to find out just how many more things I have to do, and they won't or can't tell me anything except the next one or two forms. It is maddening. I am running all around the building, being sent here and there for more forms, and finally get a little tired of it, and escape to a small office where I sit down to chat for a few minutes with Charles Purcell, one of the counselors from my high school. We're having a decent conversation, until we're interrupted by a couple of little who know him and are hugging and kissing him.

I excuse myself, and continue to wander around the school, where I find myself looking down some of the tops of some of the ladies in the office, enjoying the available view. In a small dining room, I come across several clowns and balloon artists I know from the Orlando area, and they are quietly discussing the latest news about the death of Don Caldwell, and I'm telling myself it can't be, as I try to find some paper in a nearby office, to write it down so I can do some internet research later and find out if it is true or not. I am hoping it is all a mistake, because I like Don. I am jotting down his age, which in the dream was something like 52 or 57, and a custodian walking by mistakes it for the number of a player on a sports team, and tries to strike up a conversation about it, which obviously doesn't work too well.

The dream is sort of lengthy with me continuing to wander around the office trying to get things sets up, though almost none of the details stick in my mind, and eventually I have left the building, and am heading on home to the Hickory house. I find myself on Crescent, just passing the nursery, pulling a wagon which for some reason I am calling a bus, as I draw it over the cracked and tilted sidewalk. For some reason, I start making odd wrong turns. I am directing myself with a compass, but I turn it so that north is whatever direction I say it is, rather than to actual north, as I find myself in odd areas from past dreams. I find myself in an area I remember driving another bus, which also involved goblins from the Harry Potter books, and the NCIS crew, though neither make an appearance in this dream. It is just the same area.

I soon find myself dodging around rail road crossings, and come to realize that I am somewhere in Tampa, when I find myself approaching a strange theme-park-like restaurant that seems to be a cross between Wolfgang Puck's and the Wilderness Lodge. It is either closed for the night, or perhaps has not yet opened, but if that is the case, the opening is drawing near. I head inside, anyway, though as I make it in, I find I am being chased by the guard collies that are watching the place. It is very strange being chased by about a dozen just slightly vicious, but highly gorgeous Lassie clones, but I am trying to get out of the way. I end up half swinging from the chandeliers, half swinging from vines in the trees which make up the roof of the restaurant, while workers who have spotted me come chasing after me. They are so determined to catch me that they are grabbing for anything near me, and seem to be pulling the entire place down around us. As far as I am concerned, this is not my fault!

As their net is closing in around me, I throw myself to the ground, and then slam through the kitchen doors, dodging this way and that until I make it outside and almost fly up and over a chain-link fence to safety. Problem is, while I have gotten away from the restaurant staff, I still find myself being chased by random smelly drunk people. Somehow I cause myself to throw up over this, which instantly causes them to throw up as well, distracting them so I can get away again. I am dodging around more railroad tracks, and soon find myself on a sort of roundabout, except this time I really am a train for a few minutes.

Soon I find myself on another sort of college campus (not the same one), where I seem to be trying to copy a forbidden record (possibly of Tom Lehrer songs) or perhaps trying to duplicate a very rare record so there is a back-up if anything happens to it, while getting ready to play it on the college radio station. They are trying to stop me, and recover the album, preventing any back-up copies from existing, though I manage to find a good place to hide it, nearly in plain sight. Meanwhile, I am still being chased, and dodging about here and there, while also kind of drifting in and out of sleep. Odd and entertaining.
    7. Chase Dreams, Spies, and War Games

      by , 11-16-2013 at 08:20 AM
11-15-2013 -- [Had four dreams last night, the first and the last were halfway memorable, the middle two ran together as one and I could remember almost nothing of them. Seems the more I do things that are supposed to improve dream recall (B6, apple juice) the worse my dream recall seems to become. Sheesh. Since they are so choppy and limited in detail (and since all three had feelings of the whole chased by punks sort of thing), I am putting all four in a single post.]

First one took place in two houses right next to each other. Some details of the houses kind of shifted at times. Most of the early bits are faded, so that I can only remember vague images. Wandering back and forth between houses, making food, playing Runescape. There is one guy in the second house (probably the Conrad house on Hickory) who dislikes me, hates Runescape, and insults me all the time for wasting my time and playing it. He also seems to be kind of abusive to the people who live in the house he is in. He may be the father or the brother or something, I'm not really sure. I find him picking on a young teen, a 13 or 14 year old boy, and since the boy is obviously scared of him, I push him against the wall, and give the boy a chance to get away. Problem is, this makes him decide he hates me, and he attacks me. So first I manage to catch him in a full nelson, and push him up against a wall, then I throw him to the ground.

Problem is, he keeps coming back. I can always beat him, and he can't hurt me, but he also doesn't ever seem to stop, and every time he gets back up he is somehow a little stronger. Somehow I am running through a sewer underneath the block, and there are several attractive blonde women here. Unfortunately he is carrying one of them, but is allowing her head to hang in the water, and she is drowning. I pull her out of his arms, lift her head up, and make sure she is able to breath, and I've firmly locked the guy in as a mortal enemy. He chases me into Jeff's place, as I am dodging around the family room, while visiting with and petting a couple of cats and kittens. Every time he catches me, we wrestle and I throw him down, but he just gets back up, tougher and stronger.

So I start down the block, heading toward Smith's and he follows me. One of the blondes is with him, dressed in black lingerie, and looking very nice. He is fondling her, but otherwise paying her no attention, though she is trying to distract him from me. I throw him down near a loading dock, and somehow exit across the street, then start walking quite fast up La Palma, hoping to get out of site before he gets up again. That fails, but I see a bus down the block a ways, and am hoping to reach a bus stop and catch a ride to get away. Problem is, there is no bus stop, and the driver ignores me waving for it and just drives right past. I find myself at a BankAtlantic right across the street from the Buena Park Mall, and I dodge into it and cut through, hoping to lose the guy, but instead it allows him to catch up to me. I exit the bank into a sort of terraced garden, sort of Japanese feeling, and he grabs me and we start wrestling again. By this point we are pretty evenly matched, and though I am not afraid or hurt, I am starting to get really, really frustrated!

      ---

[This is probably two dreams of stuff I can barely remember.] I am fighting in some sort of building, perhaps a library. Part of it I am wandering around with Giles, I think, talking about how Buffy or Willow (Willow would make more sense) is a huge science fiction and fantasy fan, and discussing some of the books she has read and liked, and would like further books in the series. Meanwhile, we're being chased around the library by some people, and fighting with them in what is supposed to be a friendly way, though one of them is getting more and more angry with me. At one point, I seem to be taking what is almost paper napkins, and somehow turning them solid and throwing them across the room to nail people and pierce walls. Interesting.

Anyway, the guy who has gotten mad at me is now stalking me with guns, and he has three of them. He is determined to fight me, and probably to cause lots of trouble, but I eventually get a good look at one of his guns and realize it is a water gun. So I manage to wrench one of them out of his hands, and I start soaking him and he starts soaking me, and soon we're both laughing, and are on decent terms again. So somehow I exit what I think has turned into a boat, and find myself stepping out of the cafeteria at Dr Peter Marshall Elementary. It is night time, and I have just stepped out of a PTA meeting or Parent Teacher night or something. I glance over at the playground, then wander over to the office where I am trying to get to see the principal, but she isn't in her office. So I head out the front door, just to find her coming in the same door.

It turns out to be the woman who plays Heddy on NCIS: Los Angeles, and I am complimenting her on her school, and mentioning my history here, and also making mention of the custodian, Butch, and what a nice guy he was, and she is thanking me for my comments and being nice. [The bit about Butch almost certainly caused by reading notes on the school's Facebook page in the last day or two.] Soon I am walking up Crescent, heading toward home, but I am very tired, and am kind of drifting. Somehow, before I reach La Reina I somehow wander onto a small trail branching off at an angle and down a hill, right where no trail or hill exists in real life. I realize I am off course, and though I shouldn't possibly be more than 20 or 30 yards off Crescent, no matter how much I try, I can't find my way back. Somehow I do find myself looking at stacks of books again, though.

      ---

The first part I can remember on this one (and there were earlier bits) I am in a sort of spy dream, chasing and being chased by enemy agents. I am in a parking lot at a hotel, and I am following a cute woman as she walks to her car. I sense something and kind of back off and fade into the shadows, and I notice an assassin in a wheelchair has a gun aimed at her, and a laser site on her, and is about to kill her, so I shoot him, and he dies, instead. She climbs into her car and drives off.

To avoid any problem with the guy I just killed, I plan to pop into the room I'd just rented in the hotel, but as I am entering, this other guy pushes in beside me. I shut the door and look at him, and he seems to look just like me, but he's kind of like my evil twin or something. Both of us have been injured, but in different places. I think he has an injury on his upper arm, while I have one on my lower arm, along with other wounds. Suddenly there is this strange sort of light show, bright light flashing on and off around us, and when it suddenly ends, we've somehow assumed each others injuries, and have to rearrange bandages. There is also a strange sort of hint that our personalities may have somewhat mixed, as well.

He talks me into letting him stay over night, and the next morning we are talking a little, while we go through some stuff, then he decides to leave, and he doesn't say anything that gives me any idea that he is coming back. To be fair though, he doesn't say he isn't, either. I am trying to get my stuff together because I am supposed to be checked out at eleven, but somehow I have stuff spread all over the place. I am trying to get dressed, and it is very cold, so I decide to wear two pairs of socks. Though I can find both of the long, thick, black socks that go on my feet first, I can only find one of the white socks that I wear on the outside. The more I look, the more clutter there is on the floor, with more stuff and more trash just seeming to appear by the moment.

By this point it is 11:05, and there is a maid at the door. I explain I am running slightly late and ask her if she can come back at 11:35, and she says she'll even give me to 11:45. I keep looking for my missing sock, and suddenly even the socks that I was wearing have disappeared, and I know I didn't take them off, and am wondering what the heck is going on. Meanwhile, I am sorting through all my comic books, which the other guy has scattered all over the place, bending a bunch of the covers in the process, and I am wondering why he had to make such a mess of things. By this point, I have managed to clear all of my stuff out of the bedroom that was mine, though there is still a bunch of trash in there. Since more and more of my clothes have disappeared off my body anyway, I decide to take a shower before continuing, and take off the rest of my clothes, but that is when the maid shows back up and lets herself in, along with the manager.

So I am trying to get dressed again, and the manager is asking about disassembled computer parts which I realize are not mine, which means they must belong to the other guy, and I am wondering how the blazes we got so much junk into the room in a single evening! The maid starts to clean the one room I had finished with, and I discover that the clothes which I took off near the bathroom somehow moved into that room as well, so I have to go in there clothes hunting. The bed in the room doesn't have box springs, and instead the mattress just kind of sits on a slope of dirt, which is kind of yucky. But somehow the bed has slid a couple of feet down the hill, and the maid is complaining, and saying there is no excuse for moving the bed, like I am some sort of criminal for it. I point out my size and the loose dirt, and explain I did not try and move the bed, but that it may have happened accidentally. She accepts my word and forgives me.

Meanwhile, I peak out of the room into the rest of the suite, and there are roaches running everywhere, as he does some bug spraying, though until he started spraying, I had not seen any, and I find myself hoping we didn't draw them in. He is dragging out a dog that he says is rabid, and I see another dog and a cat watching, and wonder how the guy brought in three animals without my ever realizing they were there. I explain to the manager that this is the last time I am ever going to let somebody I have never met before share my hotel room!

By this time it has to be 1 or 2, and there is still stuff everywhere, and there is a long way to go before I'm going to have my stuff out. The manager is being really nice, and not hassling me, but he tells me it may be time to just break down and pay for another night, before he has no choice but to charge me a big fine. The problem is, I don't think I have any money left. Right about the time I am thinking of calling mom, or maybe Dale, to try and borrow the money to get another night in the place, the guy walks back in. He no longer looks like me, instead he looks like a cross between Nick Wisehart and Neil Patrick Harris, and as he walks back in and looks around the place, he apologizes for taking so long, and says he hoped to come back with a lot of money, but had no luck, and will have to hope this does for the moment.

He hands me two fifty dollar bills, one that looks like American money, and one that is about twice as big and really colorful and purple, and almost has to be a counterfeit. But since the real $50 would be enough to cover the room for another night, I just head out the door to try and give it to the manager. The problem is, I find the manager with his father, who is the owner, and who he has already told me is a lot more of a pain, and may cause us problems about the whole thing. Thing is, it looks like the owner just won the lottery, and may be in a good mood.
    8. Dream Bits: Sex with Melissa Gilbert, Knott's, and a Nasty Ghetto

      by , 10-09-2013 at 04:02 PM
[For several days I was having dreams that seemed somehow not worth writing down or recording ... until yesterday when the exponential data center dream seemed worth recording, at which point the last several days of dreams that were not worth recording were suddenly worth recording, even though they are generally more suited for dream bits than full dreams. The mind is a very weird thing!]

10-05ish-2013 -- Much of the detail was gone the instant I woke up, and several days later even more has faded, but ... I am in a sort of a sports stadium, being half pursued by a sort of a bad guy, but not too much so, still kind of a calm situation. There are hints of the Buena Park Church of the Nazarene, but not much. There are good guys that are helping me and bad guys that are chasing me, and maybe some hints of doing some kind of singing of funny songs, but nothing I can actually remember.

I am moving into (or perhaps out of) the stadium area again, and find myself facing a naked and very attractive Melissa Gilbert (Laura from Little House, but very grown up) and I decide I want to have sex with her. She has no interest in me, she wants to get together with her 'Manly' (Almanzo Wilder).
      Spoiler for for graphic sex:

After that nice bit is over, more of the bad guys are after me, and I try to sneak out of the entire stadium area, just to find myself in a sort of railroad yard, dodging trains. Thankfully, even though I am still being chased, I am able to fly, and they aren't, so I am flying higher and higher, and though they are trying to climb buildings to catch me, they just can't keep up.

Then things start to change, in the way they often do in dreams, and I am having more and more trouble flying, while the people chasing me start flying, and are getting to be better at it than me, so I am only barely staying out of their reach, and then not even managing to stay out of their reach.

      ---

10-06ish-2013 -- Running around in Buena Park, perhaps riding or trying to catch a bus, heading down Beach Blvd (or perhaps Grand Avenue) right past the entrance of Knott's Berry Farm. Somehow in something that half-resembles a computer game, and half ties into roller coaster rides and the like, I end up on a sort of ground-based care ride that carries me along the edge of the property just south of where Montezooma's Revenge is.

While it somehow is a flat ground-based ride, it is soon on top of a tall building, perhaps 19 or 20 floors up, and I find myself walking along the top of the building, thinking of jumping off, and worrying about if I can safely fall 19 or 20 floors or not. Very strange, and too much is faded at this point to remember well.

      ---

10-07-2013 -- Am somehow visiting with BAM in the old place, and am preparing to cook a meal which involves some very thick steak (actually a couple of very think steaks fitting together like a yo-yo until I cut them apart and make them into two steaks) and a side like macaroni and cheese or perhaps scalloped potatoes. I am also trying to get something to drink, but all the ice cubes are contaminated with some sort of brown alcohol. (Looks like Coke, but it is alcoholic, and I am trying to get it cleaned up, but all the ice is contaminated.)

Somehow this ends up with BAM and I wandering around right outside (me still carrying the steak and potatoes) in a very ghetto-like neighborhood filled with some very rough people and lots of young gang member-like thugs carrying guns and weapons. Somehow it feels very end-of-the-world, and I can't help but think the whole world is doomed.

Meanwhile, I am still trying to figure out how to get the meal cooked, and dodging violent crooks. BAM heads off to a new place, and is moving (but only about a block or so over to a mobile home park) and I end up making friends with a particularly tough guy who actually seems to be tough but good, and is helping me gather the weapons I need to protect myself, as bad cops are chasing me and trying to lock me up, and I have to try and speak in a very hip and with-it way to try and food people and keep myself safe.

Soon I try and make it back to BAMs new place, though I have a little problem finding the exact right mobile home, and she wants nothing to do with me, though there are Christian singers who do, and a dead pastor who is trying to talk to us, and clowns running around. It is all very odd.
