non-dream dream semi-lucid lucid FA / AP

Hanging out with Riverstone and Nighthawk. We are sitting on the floor or something like a big mattress, we are talking and playing some game. I am closer to Nighthawk, who is to my right and Riverstone is across the floor/mattress, opposite of us and a bit more distant. I am sharing something with Nighthawk and naturally there are hands touching, then I lean over his leg. With innocence, I stay close to him and we kinda cuddle up. I caress his leg, he caresses my hair and it is the most natural thing in the world. But Riverstone gets all jealous and threatens him. Says if he chooses to go down that road, their friendship is over and to think it through. I say it doesn't have to be like that, but he insists I have to chose. And I say "don't make me chose because you won't be the winner." But for the moment we all break apart to clear the mood. I go outside and I get to some platform from which emergency stairs go down. I see I am really high up. There is a river below and I see some people floating on some platforms that I understand are pieces being placed at a construction project on the river, maybe a bridge is gonna be built. On the shore I see a grizzly bear approaching a person, doesn't seem aggressive though, so I keep quiet. But then someone comes and warns of another bear climbing up the stairs and we climb down this structure through the sides, avoiding the stairs. When we reach ground floor, unfortunately we encounter two black panthers someone keeps on a chain, leaving only a few centimeters of space between them, through where we can pass and is damn scary. We have to go inside the building to go out through the front door, but the panthers break the chains and we have to run up the emergency stairs again, keeping in mind the bear and the panthers. A lot of parkour and climbing and dangling dangerously dozens of meters above the ground, but we kinda escape. Then I spot my cat Yéti on the ground and the panthers going after him. Luckily they don't harm him, he escapes, but I now want to rescue him at all cost. I go down again and devise a plan to lock the panthers in some room. Doesn't go well and I lock myself with Yéti in a room, while one panther escapes to the street and the other tries to break our door down. I go out through the window but the one outside catches my foot and I wake up from the pain of the bite.

I am new to this forum, I have had a couple series of dreams for the past few months now and I am struggling to fall asleep.

Ok let me first give you background of myself.

I am currently 23 years old living in South Africa, I work for a transportation company and I have recently moved from JHB to Durban with the company, I am living with my girlfriend (19).

These dreams repeat themselves.

Ok let’s start.

1. I have a dream where I am walking home from a shop and I see people casing after me, as soon as I want to start running it’s like my body doesn't want to move and I am stuck in slow motion, it feels like this goes on for approx. 10mins, eventually I will be caught up to and they would pull a gun on me, i would be screaming but nothing would come out, once the bullet hits my head I can feel a sharp pain and everything goes fuzzy and I wake up crying.

2. I have a dream where I stand on the twin towers (No idea why that building), I stand at the edge and I keep looking down I hear a voice calling me and I jump off the building, this dream has two versions, I either hit the ground and then I wake up in bed short of breath, or I Hit the ground and I’m kind of paralyzed but I can scream, I lay there screaming in pain and people walk past like they don't see me, eventually I can feel the pain becoming too much and I wake up.

3. I have a dream where I dive into a pool, as I dive in everything is ok, as soon as I open my eyes in the water I can’t seem to find the top or bottom of the pool and it’s like I’m in the middle of the ocean with just water around me, I keep on struggling and I can feel I’m struggling to breath, my head starts paining, just before I drown completely I wake up

4. I have a dream where I am in my bedroom sleeping, I wake up in my dream and it is dead quite, the walls all turn into like clay and they start caving in on me from all four sides, I try to run through the house to escape but the one door doesn't want to open, all the walls start slowly pushing up against me and I wake up.

5. I have a dream (This one is very weird and seems to happen a lot), I wake up as normal in my dream and go about, I am surprisingly very happy, I get undressed to get into the shower but I notice I have boobs... it’s like it’s weird for me to know I am another gender but in my dream I go on as if I was born a female, I shower and get ready, I wear jeans, a nice pair of boots, a long sleeve jersey and I do my makeup and hair, I go out and I meet up with friends ( I have never met them in real life) basically the day goes by and I go to bed and sleep, when I go to sleep is when I will wake up in real life.

6. I have a dream where I am walking and I get called to a side by a man and lady, they welcome me into their home and they then tie me up, the come out with jars of various body parts, They then inject me with something and I can’t feel anything, they start cutting me up and sewing new ears and lips an changing my hair and basically turning me into someone else, at the end I heal up very fast but before I can see what I look like I wake up, Another version they have changed my gender, I am released and no one knows me but at the end I feel happy and start a new life.

7. This one I am at a part on a double story building, kind of falls in place with the twin towers, I stand on a balcony and I get pushed over, I fall down and I can’t move in pain, people would laugh and keep on moving stepping on me as they walk.

8. I have a dream where I am meeting up with my girlfriend at a festival, I see her in the distance with another guy, when I get closer she won’t talk to me and leaves with the guy and continues like I’m crazy and she’s not doing anything wrong, she kisses him in front of me and I’m left heartbroken.

9. I dream I am sleeping but my spirit is hovering over my body, I start walking around as a Ghost, I end up in a girl’s room, she is also hovering over her body, she sees me and we start talking when she has the Idea that we change bodies for a day, I let her follow me to my body and she falls in, when I get to her body I try to fall in and take over but it doesn’t want to work, another version I get it right and as soon as I hit in her body I wake up.

These are all repeating dreams over and over, some I have had for a few years and some a few months, these are the only dreams I know of.

I know it’s very weird but I need someone to try tell me what these mean.

D1 - I am in a multileveled house which is quite common for my dreams, lots of stairs to different levels and loads of rooms.
There is a party going on, a kids party and a large cat seems to be the host. The tabby cat is getting some food together but is unsure as to what human children like to eat. It has got a humongous carrot (more like a long party balloon) and a hefty potato and is offering them up as party food. It is raining outside and dark.

D2 - Travelling somewhere I get onto a bus and pay for two other people who do not have the fare then realise my own ticket has expired. The bus driver is quite considerate and allows me to travel on.

D3 - I am back at the cat's party and am playing with the kids, I am a grown up but recognise a load of kids. I play with one kid who has a strange gun with various projectiles. We are downstairs.
I see our neighbour up above she is trying to do something. I go up the stairs to find she is balanced precariously on the balcony. She then goes out even further into the back garden.

It was a sunny afternoon, sky was almost clear and it was quite warm. I was wandering straight on steel, rusty railroad. The railroad was towering high above the ground, standing on rusted steel beams. I got to a place where two railroads crossed and heard a train. I speeded up slightly, then jumped to another track, relieved that I avoided that train. I looked around and from this great height, I had a nice view of my home town.

I watch the magician enter a building. Unusually, he's dressed in modern clothing and wearing round glasses with very thick lenses, and I make a point of remembering to write that detail down after I wake up. As I'm thinking about it, I wonder what dream interpretation would make of those glasses. The assumption here is that interpretation is the wrong way to go about it and will lead to mistaken conclusions.

When he returns, he's ridiculously tall and wearing armor I associate with the temple of Mythal - less about Mythal, more about the temple - which is also unusual but in the opposite direction from before; the mental association is that he's dropped a disguise I'm used to seeing, though this one isn't exactly not a disguise. He asks me about various things I don't remember, and I answer as if I'm providing a status report. He's troubled by my responses.

He tells me to wait for the sparrow. There's a sense that this is a reference to folklore or a fairy tale.

I am in school (in Cuba), in A college or something like a university. There is going to be a test about physics, but I reason that I have not attended all the classes and I'm not ready. I am approached by girl in a short green dress and we exchanged a few words that I do not remember. Then she walks toward a kind of balcony with brown slabs but no balcony railings. It is a colonial building and the height is like a multi-story building. I went out to the balcony and the height gives me vertigo. I warn the girl to leave the balcony but she does not listen. Suddenly the scene changes for no reason and I see myself approaching the facade of a house. There is a door and two windows and I realize I'm dreaming, but I wake up immediately.

I was at a large indoor pool, which was partially owned by a school. The ceiling was very high above the surface of the water and from the wall, rather close to the ceiling, a waterfall poured down into the pool. I stood up there, looking across the enormous room. People jumped down the waterfall, into the pool and I felt kind of forced to do that too. However, I could easily back away from this. The thing was, I wanted to overcome my fear of jumping from this height and therefore felt that I had to jump for that sake.

When looking in front of me again, I noticed a branch 1,5-2 meters out and then remembered that I had jumped from up here before, by first throwing myself towards the branch and grabbing it. Nonetheless, as I was looking at it now, I doubted that I would be able to jump far enough to reach it... Someone else ran past me over the edge and grabbed the branch, swinged himself from it and fell towards the water. This made me more determined and less worried. I knew I could do this. I threw myself towards the branch and easily grabbed it. I did not feel heavy or anything hanging there and I begun swinging back and forth, preparing to let go. After swinging back and forth a few times and was swinging forward again I let go of the branch, plunging forward through the air. I felt so free and alive! However, I realized I might have gained to much power when swinging forward and thought I would crash into the wall on the other side. Instead, as I flew closer to the wall, I begun losing altitude faster, splashing into the water close to the wall.

Because of the incredible power that falling from high above had given me, my body continued very deeply down the water. It was an incredible feeling, but I began suspecting that I would have a hard time making it all the way to the surface without breathing. At the same time, I almost did not worry about this at all for some reason. Once my body had stopped being pushed deeper, I began swimming upwards. I had only done a few strokes, though, when I accidentally inhaled. The strange thing was, I felt myself breathing normal air. I got a bit confused about this and was on the verge of becoming lucid!

First

I’m checking that everything is ready for my wedding the next day. We have a rehearsal in a moment. Everything seems ready and I head towards the church, on the other side of a park. When I’m almost there someone comes to tell me that the wedding is already today and I need to get dressed. We don’t have much time and I say I might need some more help. Some random male guest who happens to be there volunteers.

We go back to the building where the party will be but it’s already locked. We go to the other side and I climb the fire escape and go trough a hatch. It’s very small, I can fit trough it but it takes some time. In the meantime the others figure out a way to get in and are putting things ready. I get in.

Second

I’m in some kind of a museum in an old building with a group of people. Apparently some of us are really interested in the place and some of us, including me, are completely bored. I think the scenery on the third floor could be good and decide to check it out with another person. There are some paintings in the second floor.

When I get to the third floor I realize I’m afraid of heights and the floor is very thin. It makes a “thud” sound on every step. It also starts waving and moving. I notice many people are moving around on their knees. I do the same.

A girl who was in the group is standing near the side of the roof. She’s speaking with two others on the ground. We decide to join them downstairs and I go down to the second floor and leave the building. Somehow I’m on the other side of the street from the building I just exited. There’s a tram line on the street and I need to evade them when I cross the street.

Had 2 main dreams about a church and me kissing a friend of mine, both were really vivid

The church:
I was stood outside a church and the owner or vicar came up to me and said "nice place isn't it" then he said he wanted to show me something and took me inside. Two teenagers about my age joined us as we climbed the stone staircase. We arrived on a small stone balcony and the two people ran ahead, one was a boy and the other a girl. We continued along the balcony until we reached one of the tops of the arches and there was a small ledge running across to the other side of the church and was apparently the only way to get across. The ledge was so thin and whilst the two teens climbed across I looked down at the floor of the church…….about 70 feet down. Me not knowing that is was a dream I thought if I fell I'd die and looking at what I had to get across it seemed very likely. So I went back down the stairs and everybody else soon joined me, then we went to the place where a castle once stood and again with the same teenagers we found one of the tunnels that would have been used to get in or out of the castle without being noticed. you could see where the gatehouse would have been and we were stood on the other side of the moat, it felt so real that I never would have questioned it. (Full dream- 1 point)

A friend:
I was at my friends house (R.B) and we were both sitting in her living room listening to her play guitar. I was sat next to her and we had one of those moments where we looked into each others eyes and moved in for a kiss. Our lips touched and my logic still didn't kick in because irl she has a boyfriend. Then her mum came in and we stopped kissing immediately. She said she was going out somewhere and that she'd be back soon. As soon as she left we full on snogged each other for quite a while I believe and then the dream ended. (Full dream- 1 point)

Strange I don't usually dream of that kind of stuff but there you go (TOTAL = 2 points)

PART 2 - ZEN FOR BROTHER

My brother sees a commercial on TV for a Zen meditation program. It advertises increased productivity, he seems interested.

ANALYSIS

A manifestation of my feeling that my brother doesn't spend his time productively. I don't think it would catch his attention IRL.

PART 3 - HARNESSES IN THE SKY

With mom and brother... high in the sky, like "top of a mountain" height... in harnesses suspended by cables. Sin (internet personality) teaches how use them properly. Scary and unpleasant.

ANALYSIS

A metaphor for a sense of risk... possibly some sort of preparation leading into "taking the fearful way" below.

PART 4 - THE IMPENETRABLE PYRAMID

Playing Starcraft, losing to Zerg... there is a pyramid on the map, it's out of place, doesn't belong in the game... it's glowing a neon light purple, possibly pink. It's supposedly "impenetrable."

I hit it (suddenly I'm physically "inside" the game), and a wall caves in. I enter, it's dark, like a tomb to explore.

A giant skeleton statue lifts me off the ground ("telekinetically"), and pulls me flying up toward it.

Next there is a small bedroom... there are old clothes. The previous occupants are long gone, years and years ago.

To get to a narrow closet in the corner, I have to go around behind the bed - and giant sheets which take up half the room - which would be a difficult position to escape from if I had to... but I take the fearful way at each point.

The closet has 2 doors, one leads to next room. There are more clothes left behind, hanging on the closet hook. I look through them, check each one out, the colors.

Suspenders? Old country clothes, possibly farmer clothes...

ANALYSIS

Impenetrable pyramid - represents lucid dreaming, seems almost impossible, a glass wall, trapped in routine. The neon purple/pink represents excitement, emotional stimulation of going outside the norm.

Telekinetic statue - key factor is the sense of flight, reminds me of old childhood dreams.

Old bedroom, old country clothes - a return to my roots, re-experiencing familiar dream sensations from childhood. I remember dreams involving clothes coming to life from back then... this is the reason for the clothes, their oldness is an expression of how long ago I experienced these things.

Fearful way at each point - beginnings of lucidity, semi-conscious decision making!

PART 5 - JEE AND KEE

Driving with Jee and Kee afterward, I tell them about the whole experience of breaking in and exploring super enthusiastically. I end with "yeah, it was quite a dream"... they don't respond, silent, then they start talking about something else.

Later, walking with them through a jungle area, I see this big (4-5 feet tall) colorful (mainly red, with others mixed) bird with shaggy feathers trying to jump upside down and catch a branch with its feet from the ground.

I say that I like the colors, Kee says the name of bird.

ANALYSIS

Ignored - probably just literal.

Jungle and bird - an expression of my focus on color earlier.

PART 6 - TEACHER EMAILS

Class, teacher (50s, grey hair and beard, glasses, like "Durant") asks the class for their emails. He hands out sheets of paper for each student to write them on. I'm conscious that the girl sitting beside me might see mine.

One more seat over, "bioking" (email) guy who is obsessed w/chemistry. Mine has "king" in it as well, possibly also something to do w/bio...

ANALYSIS

Was "bioking" another dreamer? Everyone in the class? Have I been enrolled in some sort of "dream school"?

Taking my email - perhaps this part of my mind wanting to "keep in contact"...

Debating, in the analysis portion of these entries, whether to leave ambiguity ("this is possibly an expression of that") or to be more firm ("this means that, period.") Tried more firmness this time, will continue to experiment.

Also, with so much more remembered, it's necessary to write more in point form.

I used the voice recorder for the first time last night, and WOW. HUGE impact. This thing is KEY. Very interested to see how its use will develop over time...
