    1. night 13 - bolt holes?

      by , 01-27-2017 at 06:39 PM
In a large split office room, workers are crammed in chatting loudly. A voice comes over speaking telling us to shut the noise down. I am agitated as I didn't hear anything saying we couldnt speak.
Apparently our company has been taken over by a big corporation and we are all being interviewed.
Pretty well everybody files off into the next room, except me and two others one I recognise as an old lady mate and one as Anthony from work. Eventually we have to go to.
I head off from the white office through some big darkened glass doors. I see loads of people being lined up to have a test.
I see that people are being injected in their necks and operated on. They have four big chunks taken out of their necks at the front.
I think hell no! and start to back off but hear that even if you don't want a job the operation is compulsory.
The door I came through is now locked.
With part adrenalin part powers I break the door open and get out of there.
Finding myself outside in a street. I try to fly but can't for some reason, and so set off on foot.
It is sunny day, with a clear blue sky and a townscape that feels American
      .
I know people are coming after me and I head down one street but find all streets are shut off.
Going through someone's house I find a back window and try and squeeze through.
At this point officials bust through the door and an old lady their starts to blab on me, so I use a pressure point hold on her to knock her out.

      By now I am lucid,
Getting out the front window just in time to see a long car pull up. I cross the road just as he is getting out.
He pulls a long rifle or shotgun up and out as I try to fly, I crash into him and smash him into the car which crumples. I am flying at last and head up and over the town scape.
Panic and teleport to my apartment. I hunt around for things to take with me. Soon enough I feel the people are closing in again.

    2. The rose garden, aiming and missing

      by , 09-30-2014 at 08:51 PM
After going lucid and abandoning the storyline I'd been in, I'm walking to a simple full-length mirror leaning against a wall. I focus on my intended destination - the rose garden, a meeting place. As I place my hands through the glass, I lose all visuals. My hands sink into the glass as far as my wrists, but no further. The 'hole' beyond the surface of the mirror that acts as a portal isn't open enough. I can feel jagged edges against my right wrist, as opposed to the heavy liquid-like feeling of the portal. It's like I've broken open a hole in a frozen lake. I stay focused on the destination and mentally dig at those edges until they give.

I can feel a wall of thorns all around me so that I can't move. I still have no visuals, I think of this as between scenes. I'm annoyed at myself - this is the barrier around the garden, I shouldn't have had to deal with this at all. It was an error in focus, thinking about roses and sharp edges. I try to correct my focus but find myself waking up.
(Though it wound up being a false awakening. Visuals returned when I 'woke up.')
    3. A hole in the ceiling and the heat of a star

      by , 04-05-2014 at 07:15 PM
I'm lying in my IRL bed, looking out into the hall, and I seem to see movement, as if there are several small creatures on the floor. It's too dark to be sure my eyes aren't playing tricks on me. I reach for the lamp - as I do so, I think I see one of the maybe-creatures-maybe-tricks-of-the-eyes come into the room and look up at me - but the lamp won't turn on. Although I'm aware the bulb could just be out, I suspect this is a dream.

To test it, I will myself to float up into the air, but nothing happens. I close my eyes to test whether I can see through them anyway, and I can't (in fact, after closing my eyes here, there were no more visuals for the rest of the dream). But I'm still convinced this is a dream. As one more test, I reach up and touch the ceiling, sure that it won't be solid. I encounter solid material, but
it's spongy, my finger sinks into it, creating a depression, and then reaching some limit - the material breaks, creating a small hole. For a second I consider whether this might not be a dream and I've really poked a hole in the ceiling. But I keep digging at it until I create a larger hole, large enough for me to pass through, and I climb up into it. As I pass through, I find I'm now moving downward, not upward - and this makes me wonder if opening up this hole was really a good idea. I have a vague thought about moving down into a basement which stores unpleasant things. But once on the other side, I become aware that I'm lying in bed, and that I've woken up.

Fragments from later (insomnia's been killing me this past week and my recall's a mess):

A desert in a futuristic setting. I'm talking to my wife about some intrigue going on within an elite group of all-female guards who work for us. They're slaves, and I'm thinking about the tensions created by relying on people while keeping them in slavery.

Different scene, same POV character. I'm in a small spaceship, with the pilot - a good friend who works for me - to my left, and a boy whom I'm kind of mentoring sitting behind us. I'm explaining to the boy about a weapon I'm expecting our enemies to use, something that increases the heat of a star. It's related to the lifespan of the star, and the boy deduces that since the star in this system is very young, the effect will be very great. He sounds horrified, but I'm not feeling particularly concerned; it's just one more thing to take into account.
    4. Nov. 18 Dream Journal: Should've set traps in case of raiders

      by , 11-18-2013 at 07:51 PM
My MILD mantra before going to sleep now is "If it's red, I'm in my bed." I'm worried it's too catchy to do what it's supposed to do. ANYWAYS...

Dream one has me in what looks like a steam-punk/apocalypse world (no real visual proof other than I just know), and my home is the remains of half of a jumbo plane. It's night time, and I'm sitting by a fire cleaning/fixing some sort of a tool or machine. (Edit: I now remember that I have a red bandanna with a flower motif around my head. Missed MILD cue alert!)

A single-row character select screen gets juxtaposed over the top of my "vision," as if I'm quick-selecting something in the middle of game play. As I browse the portraits (which are in DOS 256-color again), they are associated with my actual friends. Towards the right end of the screen, the portraits are grayed out; I guess in this world, friendship is an achievement you unlock.

Each individual friend has their associated stats according to Dream Knowledge. Sadly, my dream is not vivid enough for me to see detailed stats. But I do get a general associated sense of it according to certain traits. There are at least 10 characters, and I "know" there's more if I scroll to the right. But these are the ones I could still remember:

      • My friends B and K, brothers who power lift and play organized football in real life, have really high Strength scores. I also Dream-Know that their abilities are offset by low their movement rate, which I lol'ed at because I guess I'm just a dick.
      • Girl-R and Boy-R both can cast spells (Looks like I associate artistry and creativity with magical ability. Or maybe just people whose names starts with R.), while Girl-R also shares the ability to charm animals with Girl-J.
      • Boy-R, I should also note, is the Ken to my Ryu in real life, and that carries over in this dream in terms of "knowing" our stats are similar.
      • Sten from Dragon Age was there. No, I don't know him in real life. Go home, Sten, you are drunk.
      • Boy-J has rogue-like stats, possibly because he's shady. And he'll flaunt said shadiness, which makes him all the more shady.
      • Poor, poor A. In real life, he's slightly taller than me, but possibly twice my weight -- but he doesn't have the physical abilities of B and K. He'd go down in the initial wave of a zombie attack.

And wouldn't you know it, the second I think of being attacked, my camp is raided by the Mohawked raiders from Fallout (they have red pants. Missed MILD cue alert!), only my vision is obstructed by the character select screen -- which has now taken over my entire "screen" like the overlay in Steam -- and I can't seem to find a way to hide it again. That's karma for A, I like to think.

ANYWAYS, so I'm running around blind, and my vision would flash red (possible missed MILD cue alert) on the edges like a FPS as I keep getting shot. I know I'm also doing a lot of damage to them (also, I'm dual-wielding pistols -- flashy, but not terribly effective), only none of them are going down, and I'm reloading a lot even for dual wielding. I fall back to a part of the airplane, and I know I'm not going to be able to hold off the raiders for long like this. In which my brain -- my asshole of a brain -- goes "lol! Know what would suck?" and plays that scene from Robocop.

Well, I guess it worked, because the raiders are now focused on poor Murphy (who materialized in my dream JUST to suffer a horrible fate). I theorize that there's a sidequest in Fallout New Vegas that references this, so my brain went there. Either way, the scene abruptly ends to the sweet sounds of gunfire and torture screams.

We're skipping dream two because that's Willy's time. There was a missed MILD cue in there, and I will also partially hint that towards the end... well, has anyone seen those troll-ish Photoshop images where they take the inside of a lotus flower pod and superimpose it over someone's flesh so it looks like there are tiny ho-AHHH, FUCK, I JUST GOT A MENTAL IMAGE. NEXT DREAM! NEXT DREAM!

Dream three was barely there, and all I can recall was that I'm on my motorcycle (edit: my motorcycle is red. Missed MILD cue alert!) on a highway next to a forest, and the weather is gray and shitty. And all I have for dream four is that I knew I had four dreams.

    5. Plane of old boards, dirt, and holes

      by , 11-11-2013 at 07:26 PM
Night of November 11, 2013. Monday.

I am wandering around on a fully-stabilized plane, having moved into the first manifestation that formed, becoming integrated into the new environment to more closely examine the domain. I soon notice it is mostly old boards, somewhat scattered at different angles, lying about on the mostly bare ground everywhere as far as the eye can see, although my vision is mostly oriented towards the ground, not to the horizon. Many of the old boards appear to be partially covering holes of various depths, but I never look down directly into them, and there is no concern at all about falling into one. Most boards are brown, with a gray one here and there. Many of the boards are of similar lengths, about arm-length or longer. I mentally will them to move about along the ground to see a slight glow coming from some of the holes. With subtle thoughts now and then, I mentally will the loose dirt to fly away from particular areas. The soil and particulates are not so loose as to bother my breathing, though, and it seems that the area is not as old as it would logically seem. At the time, I do not perceive that they are related to any type of closed mine, and there are no buildings or land features anywhere. I reach the highest state possible into pure vividness, looking around. No one else is around anywhere. At times, a gentle breeze also blows a bit of the loose soil about. There is a slight essence of yellow above other earthly colors. At one point, I do get a very vague impression that I am in the future and looking at the remains of the house we are presently living in. However, there would be additional features if this were actually the case unless the other materials were removed, leaving only the wooden pieces.

I do not presently or immediately recall having been on this plane before. I mostly only focus on the local regions of where I am and do not move that far beyond. The only association I seem to make in afterthought is that perhaps (and it is only perhaps) someone had fallen down a well or a mineshaft somewhere and needs my help. However, that is only one lesser association. There did not appear to be any negative energy on the particular plane, and I found it very attractive and interesting.

    6. Alien and Sky Dragon..

by , 11-23-2011 at 07:11 PM (Visions of the night)
Took a much needed nap late this morning and had this weird dream...

I was sitting in a house that was built on a side of a mountain.. the door that was on the left was open and there was a long set of stone stairs... guess it was for people to enter through the area. The house had these big windows and no curtains. I am sitting there on a cream colored couch and trying to watch was on this old fashion t.v.. had the antennae and everything.

This old man walks in telling me I was living in the middle of a portal as he is talking I am pretty much not paying attention and I see this weird figure coming down the steps outside.. as it came closer it was an Alien and I began to freak out.. there were children in the house and I was trying to grab their attention so they wouldn't get scared at seeing this figure..

It was tall skinny.. the typical grey/green alien the usual depiction of what some consider an alien to look like.. so this creature walks pass the house and towards the far left and I see this mountain with deep oval like holes on the sides of them.. strange to see a rock mountain with such design and this alien went to the 2nd last hole and disappeared..

This man is still talking and I cut him off.. he is wearing a long red robe.. out of no where I have a picture of the mountain in my hands and he points telling me those are different dimensions within the holes.. and the way one can only enter is if they have been through other planets.. as he starts talking which I couldn't make out the rest .. this big headed grey/green alien is coming down the steps again..

      Odd

The man tells me to be careful because this alien is able to grab someone to bring into one of the holes.. I am getting nervous freaking out.. and the alien is starting to stare into the house..

The guy starts talking about a flying dragon trapped in the space between our sky and the earth's ozone layer.. how this dragon never lands and travels around none stop.. but how it can swoop down picking up living things..

Next I find myself climbing through one of the holes and looking back at the house on the hill...

      Weird.

    7. “Walls Have Eyes”

      by , 09-10-2007 at 03:10 PM
Morning of September 10, 2007. Monday.

There is a building that is somehow on the edge of another dimension or mind (or someone else’s “mental universe”). We are renting the place and live here as a family, but it seems a bit too small at times, and also, it is as if we may be moving soon. Someone I do not know, possibly the owner of the property, hands me a special drill that will go through the really tough wall on one side (which seems to be to the north) so that I can look directly into this other dimension or mind (apparently in case someone is planning to do something wrong to my family or me). The drill looks like some sort of odd combination of the handles of a bicycle, an egg beater, and a modern electric drill.

However, both the drill bits (there are two, which form a sort of binocular-like set-up) and the wall seem to be made of some sort of odd, but tough material that is similar to plastic, but yet not plastic. The resulting holes are perfect for a pair of human eyes to then look through.

There is this idea that I would then be looking out from this dimension (or “my world”) into another dimension or alternate world as a character in someone else’s dream (but would have no control of that character, just supposedly somehow seeing from their eyes from my own perspective and “world”, the view of the other world adjusting with no movement required on my part). This seemed quite vivid. Even so, I do not observe much. I mostly view what seems to be ordinary human beings walking about in the distance. There is not the slightest feeling of being a voyeur at any point, probably because another level of my awareness somehow knows I am dreaming.
