    1. Nuclear Poker

      by , 12-05-2017 at 06:05 PM
Morning of December 5, 2017. Tuesday.

I become aware of being in a scenario where a small nuclear missile is being carried on a vehicle that is apparently going west (based on my subliminal impression of how I am oriented while sleeping in our bed). I am somehow in charge of the situation and of the missile. It is only about five feet long. There are a few other (unknown) people with me.

We approach a wide river that runs north to south. At this point, I start to become wary about being near a nuclear missile. My awareness and contemplation of the scenario is not realistic. I decide to throw the missile into a river, where there are additional unknown people near, and I know it may eventually go off, but I consider that I will have time to outrun it.

Despite the size of the missile, I somehow fling it with one hand to the opposite side of the river. There is no explosion, but I expect one to come eventually. I and the others start running the opposite direction (east). I am aware of the minutes counting down.

Although we are running across an outdoor landscape, there are identical low-set tables that we reach every twenty seconds or so. I suddenly have an infinite supply of decks of playing cards, whereby I then toss several cards to each side of me where there are always about three or four random unfamiliar males present to grab the cards. This has something to do with survival, as I am aware that some of the cards can be traded for food. This event repeats a number of times. Just prior to waking, I turn to see the mushroom cloud emerging from the horizon and realize that I am now safe and that about three minutes and twenty-seven seconds had passed from the time it landed in the river.

This dream is a typical attempt at subliminal reinduction. The missile can otherwise be viewed as a flight symbol (RAS and inner ear dynamics relating to the waking prompt), though I throw it into the river as water symbolizes sleep (and potential dream state deepening and sustaining in this case; symbolism I have experienced on a day to day basis and understood for over fifty years).

The playing card scenario is a bit odd, though it, along with the missile, likely relates to continuously hearing about the North Korea threat, almost as if it was like some sort of deranged poker game between two so-called leaders while the rest of the world looks on in passive bewilderment.

    2. UFC Playing Cards, Master Chef Potato (15.8.14)

      by , 08-15-2014 at 05:30 AM (CHiLLEN's Dream Journal)
      DREAM 1

I'm standing next to a bed in an expensive looking apartment. I'm talking to Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta (both UFC affiliated). We're looking at UFC playing cards. They look pretty cool and a bit bigger than your average playing card. Lorenzo shows me a deck which has a fuck up in it. It's showing Vitor Belfort and Ben Rothwell at the weigh ins, giving their stare down before the fights the next day (Strange considering Ben is Heavyweight and Vitor is Middleweight/Light Heavyweight).

Dana's kids run in the room and soon realize I was giving the deck because they kid had 2 of the same and didn't need it. I look on the floor and notice a deck of cards still in its pack.

We're standing in a kitchen and I tell Dana and Lorenzo I'm surprised no ones brought this up in the MMA forums, which is "do you only watch normal wrestling or do you watch all forms including the hardcore matches where they use chairs etc". Lorenzo says he does watch both.

      DREAM 2 - 9:50AM

I'm watching people cook on a cooking show. It's the master chef format. One of the contestants which had already been knocked out or was from a previous season is demonstrating a dish. She puts a pad at the bottom of a potato for some reason. She gives another demonstration which involves potatoes again. This time she is using the plastic which holds a six pack of cans together. She calls it a strange name. I see potato that is hanging from the plastic as she pulls it up. She seems a little shaky as if she is a bit nervous and tends to be a little clumsy.

      DREAM FRAGMENTS::

I'm watching a porn scene. A man has a couple pumps and finishes. I think it's odd and rewind it. I realize it was towards end anyways, so I watch it from the start. The man looks young and not the type of guy that does porn. He has a abnormally sized penis, which looks very blurry. He places it inside the women slowly.

      SIDE NOTES:

Couldn't get to sleep until late and had a horrible sleep. Affirmations were not working this morning, was too tired.
    3. Playing Cards

      by , 11-09-2013 at 04:22 PM
As I went to sleep tonight, I recited a mantra, "I will stabilize". I also firmly fixed in my mind that as soon as I began dreaming, I would know that I was dreaming.

This worked. I spent some time drifting, and then a dream began. I was lying in bed, and the lights were on. I looked to my left. There were 3 tiny, glowing playing cards floating in the space above my head. I thought, "Yes, I'm dreaming," and snatched the playing cards from where they were floating. It's hard to explain, but the cards were a cue for me - it was specifically seeing the cards that made me lucid. I don't remember what suites the cards were, only that they were 1/4 the size of normal playing cards, they were glowing, and they immediately induced lucidity.

I got out of bed, and my bedroom was very different and not at all like my real bedroom. The carpet was worn out, and an ugly shade of tannish orangy brown. My "dream room" carpet is always this ugly color, for some reason. The door was in the wrong place, and led to a hallway that doesn't exist, and there was no furniture besides my bed. The bed was a twin, but in real life, I have a full. I said, "Stabilize!". I went to the door and tried to visualize that as soon as I went through it, I would be in a rainforest. I tried very hard to convince myself of this.

When I went through the door, everything was dark. I saw shadowy forms that hinted that I was in another room. I got frustrated
      and lost lucidity.

I woke up, grumbled, and tried WILD. I got past the initial wave and felt as if I was sinking into my bed. I sat up out of my body. I tried to open my eyes, but it was very hard, and I felt like I was opening my physical eyes. I was really tired and had work in the morning, so I gave up on it and lapsed back into unawareness. I dreamed that my head had made a huge dent in my pillow, so now my pillow had 2 lumps of stuffing on either side and nothing in the middle. I tossed and turned (in the dream) and tried to make it comfortable somehow.

I dreamed I was shopping at a store. I've never been there in my waking life. There was a desk on a top shelf that I was interested in - it was $50, and I thought it would make a good room divider. But my cell phone was malfunctioning badly. The screen came off (how?) and then it got hot to touch and melted. I got some of the melted screen on my finger, and it burned me. I kept thinking about how frustrated I was that all of my money now had to go toward buying a new phone. I needed a smartphone, too, so it was going to be expensive.

I woke up. I tried some visualizations. I visualized a room full of dolls, where each doll represented a DC I knew. I visualized putting a doll on the floor and making it grow to full size. (I was not asleep at this time). I began drifting off, but the visualization didn't completely take hold, and I didn't become lucid. Instead, the room became the room of a woman with a group of really odd friends. My dream followed their antics, but I don't recall any specifics on what they were.

      Review:
      Dream clues:
      - Playing cards (instant lucidity)
      - My pillow doesn't have stuffing. It's a memory foam pillow.
      - Unfamiliar store, without recalling how I got there
      - Malfunctioning phone (malfunctioning electronics)
      - Spectator perspective

Edit: Believe it or not... I actually figured out the playing cards while I was riding the train home. In my dream, they were glowing like they were lit up LEDs. On the train ride home, there's an installation where LED playing cards flash by the train windows. I tend to stare out the window at them because I'm bored and they're something to look at... which means I'm also staring at my reflection. So, since mirrors instantly make me lucid (for some reason), apparently my brain linked the playing cards with my reflection strongly enough that just looking at a card makes me lucid.
