1. The prismatic soul controller

      by , 06-02-2021 at 10:07 PM
This is a strange one. I know if I remember a dream until the end of the day that it's worth writing down. The ending is marginal, but it's written in a way that obscures what I'm saying. I'll edit it if it's not OK for this site.

So it all begins at some type of high school reunion. I saw one of my worst enemies in school walking in the parking lot. He said, "Hey [name], how's it going?" He was actually kind of friendly like he had grown up a lot since school. He acted like all that stuff was behind us. I was friendly back. He asked how old I was and I said, "I'm going to be 30 in a few days". He was just like, "oh, cool." We parted ways.

There was a pool party going on there and one of the really hot women started following me around. Next thing I know, we are at a mall together and they lock everyone inside. It was clearly intentional and sinister. (I had a dream a few months ago that was also about getting locked inside a mall with a bunch of people, but it was not as interesting as this one.) In the center of the mall (the largest part), there was a big enclosure/construct. An older women was ordered to line people up at the entrance of this construct. We lined up and I peered inside it. It was a room with about 1 foot by 1 foot prisms on the wall. They were made of mirrors. One of them was tinted a bright green color. When I saw this whole thing I realized something evil was going on. Everybody that was forced to step in there was having their soul get reconfigured. The one green prism was responsible for it and the others were just there to hypnotize people so they wouldn't stop. At least that's how I interpreted it. I knew I wasn't going to go in there, so I waited for the exact right time and sprinted away.

While running, I saw one store in the mall that was under construction and the door was slightly open. I went in there as fast as possible. I think the women running the system saw me and went after me or sent somebody else. I could sense multiple people behind me. When I got in the store, I noticed a bunch of heavy construction equipment. One worker was still in there cleaning up. There was a huge wheelbarrow type thing that was made out of super thick heavy metal (at least 2" thick steel). It was right next to the door. When the evil women came in, I dumped it over her and she got trapped underneath. She was too weak to get it off.

At this point I actually realized that the girl (the hot one from the party) I was with had followed right behind me. There was also one other guy that came too. So it was me, the construction worker, the hot girl, and one other random guy. We felt safer now that the evil woman was trapped, but one of them said more people are after us, so we have to keep running. We started running and the construction worker showed us this secret exit into the stairwell at the back of the shop. He had been using it for the construction I guess. We all ran as fast as possible down the stairwell. Eventually we got to an unfinished part. The stairs just dropped off with one more floor underneath. The guy said it's unfinished, sorry. So we all parkour-ed it along the edge and then had to jump down pretty far, but we didn't get hurt. At the bottom was just a small empty concrete room, but in one of the corners was a pile of rubble. Behind the rubble was a small tunnel. The construction worker said to follow him through there. It looked like he had been there before (maybe he had been helping escapees? IDK).

We end up going through endless dismal passages and arrive at this one large cave. The cave was clearly pretty deep under ground. At this point we felt safe. The construction worker said, "let's keep going, I know the way out." Him and the other guy kept walking through the cave and into another small tunnel at the end. Me and the girl just stared at each other. I could tell she was hot (heat), so I offered to take off her sweatshirt. Then I paused for a second and said something like, "Let's do it. NOW!" She said, "Wait, wut? Right now... don't you want to wait until?" I said, "Yes, NOW." She smiled and said "OK." While it was going on, I saw some of the rubble in the bottom of the cave start to move. We both looked and saw there were some little people under the rocks. Not like babies, but mini-people - like little gnomes. They all started smiling and giggling and I yelled at them to go away, so they hid their heads back under the rocks.

      The End.

    2. Feeding Prisoners

      by , 08-18-2017 at 01:14 PM
Morning of August 18, 2017. Friday.

I become aware that I am some sort of informal prison guard, yet I also apparently live with the prisoners, though atop a mostly featureless vertically-oriented rectangular prism with only a large mattress present.

The size-orientation relating to perspective is oddly distorted, as the prisoners seem only about one-fourth the size they should be relative to distance. I do not really consider this distortion as such while in my dream.

It is apparently my job, or at least my turn, to feed the prisoners who begin to gather far below. I have a large bag of chocolate Chex cereal. I throw down the pieces in small amounts as the prisoners gather to eat with their hands (as there are no bowls or silverware visible).

Looking around, I notice a prisoner casually walking out a main door into a hall. I do not call out or say anything, though I am not fully sure of the situation. An unfamiliar female guard notices this but does not get to them in time, so I assume that the prisoner has escaped. This seems to happen again later with a different prisoner who goes through a door in another area, perpendicular to the first.

In the last scene, a couple other prisoners are somehow atop the prism near me. I seem to be ready to sleep now. I feel the other male is a bit too close to me, but I do not say anything. He does not seem a threat, but his physical presence is somewhat intrusive.

This seems partly based on our youngest daughter accidentally spilling part of a bowl of Coco Pops Chex cereal onto Zsuzsanna from above and behind prior to sleeping. Zsuzsanna immediately got up to have a shower and there were Coco Pops Chex pieces here and there on the way to the bathroom and in the bathroom. Still, an additional association may be because they are somewhat cushion-shaped (as a subliminal dream state indicator). There may also be some sort of connection between “prism” and “prison”, as they sound similar.

Atypically, the personified unconscious seems to be the female prison guard - which is the opposite of the preconscious (though the unconscious does not usually appear to deliberately hold a dreamer in the dream state, which seems rather strange to me other than for circadian rhythms factors). This dream seems to otherwise move towards typical doorway waking symbolism (as did another dream of this date though also atypically), except that my emergent consciousness seems to be projected from a distance (“escaping” twice) due to my direct perspective (as the personified subconscious aka dream self) already perceiving that I am in bed and lying down atop the prism. Ambiguous multiplicity has occurred a number of times before in waking symbolism.

This is certainly not the first time I have been elevated above the rest of my dream’s setting, which simply means that I am closer to waking in a rendering of liminal space (often with increased physical awareness as in this case). In this case, it is even more obvious as I am already “back in bed”.

    3. 4/9/14 - I kidnapped a girl

by , 04-10-2014 at 12:53 AM (Leaving the matrix)
I'm standing what seems dead center of this endless crowd. I see an old Victorian looking street lamp about 5 feet to the left of me possibly indicating I'm near a side walk. There's just too many people to tell. I see this girl walking through the crowd, when she makes eye contact with me she gets this look of fear or worry in her eyes, then puts her head down and tries to hurry past me. Seeing this, I become paranoid. I wonder why she reacted this way to me, I become compelled and consumed into her and what she's thinking that I whip around to see how far she's passed me and I chase after her. She only runs a little ways, more like speed walks with a slouch. I grab her shoulders then tell her I'm going to take her some where tranquil so I can ask her why she seemed to fear me, but then all of the entire surrounding crowd becomes overwhelmingly quiet and focus their attention on me with anger and suspicion. I know, I can feel it that they think I'm kidnapping her, so I tell them "I'm not going to trapezoid her in a prism", and then the entire crowd makes noises of disappointment, like a boxing match without a knockout. I was some what disappointed that that was all it took to get a crowd to submit. Then I woke up.
    4. The Experiments and TotM...

      dream : comments : lucid
      28th of May, 2012

Took a Galantamind pill at 8:45am and was convinced that I was gonna fail coz I was awake for so long.

There was basically no non-lucid portion here; for all intents and purposes it was a WILD without the WILD. I'm also starting to get better at controlling that 'ever forward' sensation of lucid's where you kind of have half control and the other half is just pulling you around. Or is that just me?

      Anyway.

I got out of bed in a house that was completely different to my own. "Aw yeah!"

It was kind of unstable and I was really keen not to wake up so I was just strolling around and chilling. There were people sleeping in beds in all the rooms but I didn't explore too thoroughly.
Mum came out but I basically ignored her and kept walking around. At some point in my exploration, a miniature gorilla thing came out of the doorway and I immediately thought "Hm, why not?" in reference to the basic TotM (better late than never!) so I just jumped at the little guy and appeared in his body. I looked at my arms and legs and it was instead like I was wearing a gorilla costume and still had my shoes on. I decided that wasn't good enough so I did a backflip out of his body and jumped out the window to start my journey. I was higher than I thought and a bit surprised, but I'm getting much better at flying so I kinda fell with speed into the ground across the road.

      SMASH!

I slammed down into a toy tricycle and then ate some grass. (Mzzck mentioned something about this stabilising technique once, and it's completely infested my dreams so I can't help but do it!)

I looked around at my surroundings and was, as always, humbled by how amazing the dream world is. It was a beautiful day with birds singing and lovely warm sun. Where I was standing was out the front of a garden nursery and I walked in and looked at some flowers before mum came out of the house and said something to me. I took that as my leave and jumped into the sky.
It was really 'pully' and I didn't have any physical control; kinda like I was on the end of a fishing line or something. But I just went with it and flew backwards and forwards before going extremely high. Probably around a kilometre.
There was an ordinary town below me and I couldn't help but think that down there, a million DC's were just living out their odd little lives without me knowing.
Anyway, I asked to be put down and began descending on the suburb. I landed in an ordinary back yard under someone's clothesline.

A group of young people were playing with their dog and they didn't seem to notice me. After they went inside, I followed them in via their laundry door. It was really empowering to do this. Like breaking and entering without any consequences! I walked through their house following them but when I turned a corner into their living room, some dude came around at the same time and looked at me. I jumped straight into his body and this time felt it be more successful. It was like I was his shadow and slowly closed in on him.
I walked after the other group and met them in the bathroom.
It was two girls, who, on closer inspection, were two of the same guy in drag.

I put my arm around them and looked in the mirror and saw that I was still the other dude. Success.

At that point I felt myself breathing in real life and realised I was waking up. Lay still for a DEILD.

I came to while washing my face in a basin. I looked in the mirror to my left and pulled a weird "yeah!" dream face then went out.
I was in a courtyard out the front of a house. It was quite quaint, if not a little cluttered. They had a grape vine running along a trellis on the roof. I instantly began searching for a prism so I could do an experiment with the sun I'd seen earlier. I have no idea where this idea came from- guess I'm just a naturally experimentative kinda dude.

I looked in a toolbox and found one but it was all scratched and curved instead of straight. That's never gonna work. I tried to reform it but it was unsuccessful so I went into another house and found a proper one in a kid's bedroom.

Strolled back outside and sat on the road, appreciating the sun and it's warmth again. The sun was behind a tree which was moving to keep blocking it so I walked up the road a bit to get a clearer view. There were a group of thuggish looking guys ahead so I threw some sand at them for funsies and then commanded them to just watch what I was doing instead. I got the prism and positioned it so that it cast the spectrum onto the sidewalk. It was a pretty successful representation, but was obviously just my mind creating it; I don't think light actually exists in dreams to be altered. I played around with the prisms positioning and it went through a range of pretty incredible things. At one stage it was a glowing, ringed, rainbow planet among a multicolored nebula/aurora. Then it split back into the colours except each one had a different world on it.

At that point I entered a dream within a dream, which told the backstory of these different planets. When I came back, I was in a slightly different position at a building site.

I remembered that my brother had asked if you could do stuff like bending roads in dreams so I decided to give that a go. I was standing on a gravel pathway with wooden skirting boards and forced it to begin bending. Instead of being smooth, it was quite destructive and began cracking and breaking while changing direction. Like it would in real life, I suppose. I decided I wanted to try on a proper road so I went off to find a good curved street. Now that I'm writing this, I realise I could probably have just made a straight road bent instead. The things you think when you're actually awake, huh?

I went back up to the road and was jumping around clapping my hands, which I take to be this dream's version of a hand-rub stabilisation. It actually worked really well because as well as the physical sensation, it also gave off sound which helped.

As I walked down the road there were a bunch of trees that had been chopped down so I gracefully jumped from log to log just for the sake of it. As I was doing that, some girl in a crowd said "I want to be an actor".
"Do it!" I replied, "you're beautiful!"

Feeling cool about myself I kept going on my way.

I couldn't for the life of me find a curved road. Every one that looked curved was straight when I got there (I suppose that means I was being successful in my attempts!)

I went on quite a long journey down streets and came to an avenue with beautiful green and red trees arching the road, which I jumped up and grabbed the leaves of. The buildings here had really interesting architecture and shortly I came to a squat little building complex. There was a delivery guy at the back of his van getting boxes out so I happily walked past and pushed him into the back!

I came to a sign that said something like:
      ____________________
<-- Office Journey -->
____________________

      But it wasn't exactly that.
To be honest I don't remember what it said. I just wanted to draw a sign.

Anyway I went to the right and was at some kind of learning institute. I kept looking round and round for curved roads and ended up in a dodgy back-area with loading docks and stairs and underpasses which eventually turned into a very L.A looking crowded street.
There was a girl standing near a billboard and I went up and said "Pretty smoggy, huh?"

She said that it was actually the 'bloom' and when I looked closer the smog was millions of little glowing insects. At that point I decided I'd better wake up otherwise I'd forget all this stuff so I woke up watching a YouTube video. And then I actually woke.

      Whew! That's a long one.

Looking back, I realise that most of the lucid dreams I've written have been due to Galantamind. That shit definitely works, but I do worry that I've become reliant on it!

      Better than heroin I guess!

    5. A Rose Encased in Glass

      by , 02-06-1972 at 08:06 AM
2 minutes 12 seconds to read.

      Sunday morning, 6 February 1972.

      A Rose Encased in Glass

      Dream # 1,875-04.

I am standing at the front of my fifth-grade classroom in the late morning, to the left of the teacher's desk and facing the seated students. My classmates are gazing toward the front of the room. However, no one acknowledges my presence or seems to see me. There is a sense that it is the last day of school. Danny Hollingsworth is standing on my right, closer to the other students. He seems very happy.

An unfamiliar male teacher gives him an award for an unknown accomplishment. It is a red rose in a rectangular prism made of glass. Despite his gratitude upon receiving the award, I recognize that it is an act of mockery. I sense a couple of classmates (including John Cavas) snickering at Danny's "award."

      "Thank you," Danny cheerfully says.

"It's dusty," he says without changing his happy mood.

He blows on the top of the rectangular prism. An overpowering wind carries dust that covers the other students. Time seems to flow rapidly, 50 years swirling by in a second, to present a scene of old business people (seemingly close to death) seated around a large rectangular table (still in the classroom but with a sense of bilocation). (They eventually seem mummified.) The event had not affected me. I am only a spectator. I sense Susan Cavas had been a real estate agent.

      Dream Content Errors:

Danny was not in my fifth-grade class, only in previous grades.

The rose and prism were of an unrealistic size, at least a foot high, perhaps caused by a zoomed-in superimposition that my dreams often provide.

      Causality and Meaning:

Wind often implies the passage of time and a "glimpse into the future" (as here), depending on other content.

The rose encased in glass; and the immobile business people are indicators of intuitive, metacognitive, or lucid associations with REM atonia (the natural paralysis while sleeping that occurs throughout all dreaming). This fundamental causality of dream narratives occurs whether or not there is any other related factor.

      Influences:

One influence was the joke where a teacher asks a student what their favorite flower is. They respond with, "chrysanthemum." When the teacher asks them to spell it, they say they like "roses" more. Another dream integrated this gag and included the ending line without the joke's inference.

Danny had a feminine personality and manner, and other classmates sometimes teased him for it.

      Enigmatic Content:

In the next grade (in middle school in a different building), a female classmate, Lorilee, mocked me by giving me baby blocks and other baby toys tied together with string for the classroom's Christmas gift exchange (where students had randomly drawn names). (It was because she was obsessed with my "oversized baby teeth," and ironically, she was in dentistry years later.) When she was about fifty, she claimed to have no memory of her life until recently (though because of trauma and drugs, apparently). To read a strange news story regarding that classmate, use the Google search for "A dilemma carved in wood" in quotes.

Years after this dream (after I had lived in Wisconsin for years), I learned that Susan (who remained in Florida) had become a real estate agent.
