    1. 22-08-10 Shooting my Dad

      by , 08-10-2022 at 11:22 AM
Really harrowing dream. My dad was doing something, maybe something violent, and he was a threat to my other (forgotten and likely fictional) loved ones in the room/house. I pointed my Glock at him, hoping he'd stop. He didn't. He came straight at me. I pulled the trigger, and as usual that was almost impossible to do. It did go off, sort of, hitting him. It didn't seem to do much. I ran away and grabbed my shotgun from the locker. The fight continued, and I think I got a couple of good hits in. The whole thing was adrenalin-fueled survival, I didn't really *want* to do any of this. Dad ran outside. I ran after him. It was night, dark and rainy. I lost track of dad. Finally, I calmed down and emotion overwhelmed me. I was crushed by regret. I'd shot my own father. I literally broke down into tears, crying "papa, papa". Then I woke up. What a great night that was.
    2. 18-12-31 Nuclear Meltdown

      by , 12-31-2018 at 04:53 PM
I was on vacation with what I think were a bunch of classmates. It must have been over ten years ago. It was at the farm we used to stay at with my family. Suddenly, I noticed a bizarre ray of light on the horizon. It stretched from the ground all the way into the sky. I was like 'oh, no' as ran closer to have a better look. I thought it was a nuclear attack. But then, someone behind me yelled that it was a nuclear meltdown of a power plant. The alarm sirens went off, loud enough to be heard for miles. Everyone got into a panic and ran for their cars to get as far away from the site as possible. So did I. Oddly, I was driving the purple Opel Astra Break my family used to drive in the late 90s/early '00s.
    3. 18-09-08 Russian Nuclear Attack

      by , 09-10-2018 at 12:45 AM
I saw multiple mushroom clouds on the horizon. I felt the usual terror. I ran inside and saw a strategic map of the world on TV (news broadcast). Multiple missiles were flying back and forth. Russia was one of the aggressors (I was hoping they weren't). Even when surrounded by detonations, I still hoped it wasn't Russia. They have thousands of nukes and if they fired them it'd surely mean the end of civilization.

I'm going to start labeling 'outbreak of nuclear war' dreams as 'nightmares'.
    4. 18-07-17 Pennywise Grants Power, Kill Bully

      by , 07-22-2018 at 01:01 AM
Pennywise from 'It' and I made a pact. He granted me a power, telekinesis. I approached a guy who had always been bullying me. He was perhaps 10, and I think so was I. I wanted to just lift him with TK and pull him towards me. To scare him, maybe hurt him. But when he was suspended in the air in front of me, he looked dead. Like, I'd accidentally snapped his neck by pulling him so violently or something. That's when Pennywise began haunting me. I could feel the terror building inside of me as he got creepier and creepier, but then my real-life alarm clock went off and saved me. Phew.
    5. 18-06-12 It, Terrifying Dream

      by , 06-19-2018 at 05:53 PM
A long dream of being haunted by 'It', otherwise known as Pennywise. I knew I was sleeping and tried to sleep through it, but whenever I tried I was overcome by this feeling of intense dread. At the end I was dragged under water by Pennywise in its clown form. It swam off with me as its mouth transformed into this fucked-up shape (full of teeth). I felt okay with this as I felt this was a sacrifice and others would live.

    6. 18-04-02 Hell Dreams

      by , 04-03-2018 at 05:29 AM
Before waking up, I had a hallucination of a train coming closer. The 'frame' of the train moving reset every second, snapping back to its original position, like in a time loop. A bit later, I learned I could manipulate time and push the train backwards (or make it drive back as time is reversed).

I was standing in a street at a house my family used to live (not). The house was gone and replaced with other, newer houses. A more 'urban' area a bit further down the road (which I recalled had shops and businesses) was also gone and had been suburbanized.

I was with my mom and dad, walking in a forest. We were following my grandpa, who was a good 100 feet in front of us. I suddenly realized he's supposed to be dead. I tell my dad this, who says he sensed grandfather's presence a few days earlier, and after he made a typical grandpa joke, he was sure it was him. We kept following him down the path, but the path and environment started to change. A forest became a burning horizon, and the dirt and leaves of the forest roads turned to smoldering embers. We were walking into Hell. I didn't think too much of it, though. I tried to use my phone camera to record our descent into Hell, which worked (to my surprise). We came up on two buildings. Big farmhouses, but they were old, abandoned and partially overgrown with creepy, unnatural vines. A feeling of intense evil emanated from those buildings. I followed grandpa into one of them. It started to dawn onto me that something wasn't right. There were things he couldn't know, but did (something involving melons on the ground, don't ask). But when he said something sinister in a devilishly evil voice (couldn't see him when this happened), we were all like 'yup, it isn't him', and we noped out of there immediately. What followed was an attempt to escape Hell the way we came. But the path on which we arrived was now covered in logs (?) and we had to climb over them. There was also a ceiling somehow, so we had to crawl through on our stomachs. I looked sideways and saw the demonic face of what used to be my grandfather looking at me. I tried to shield myself from it, as I think it had some kind of ranged attack. Then someone talked to me and said it was a scene from a scary movie.

Still in the hellverse, at the end of a completely unrelated scene. Someone triggered something, causing demons to break out. I tried to escape to the other side of the map (it was a game) by using glitches and walking on top of walls. Once on the other side of the map (where I'd come from), I saw the demon approach me super fast. I realized it was rubberbanding and I wasn't supposed to run away from it. Instead of attacking me, it gives me something. Something with three colors (red, blue and green) that I was supposed to balance? A key?

The next unrelated scene, still in Hell. We were exploring some kind of stone large structure. It looked like an altar, or temple. While exploring a dark room, people started vanishing. I felt an evil presence. We returned outside, to the altar/temple, which turned out to be some kind of huge teleportation stone, a gate between Hell and reality. We were all (dozens of people) gathered on the stone, and around it. I remember hanging from the stone, calling for help and being ignored, and eventually dropping down, walking around and climbing back onto the stone a bit further. Someone used their phone to call someone, and tell them to teleport them back to reality. A voice, representing Hell, answered and said it wasn't up to them to decide if we could leave or not. But then, people started vanishing in rapid succession. I was seeing in third person how I vanished as well. So I was gone, but 'still there'. I saw my family, as it used to be in the 'good old days' (including my younger self), and a voice said they were declared the winners (and cleared to leave Hell).

    7. 18-01-28 Lots of Short Dreams, Nightmare

      by , 01-28-2018 at 04:48 PM
I had over a dozen short dreams, all of which I forgot. Luckily. Don't feel like typing that much today.

One dream stood out. I woke up at 5AM from a dreadful nightmare, presumable about monsters like in 'The Thing'. Yeah, most of my nightmare creatures are from 80's movies. I felt intensely paranoid and fearful, and I jumped at every noise I heard coming from the hallway. I tried to ignore it, but couldn't. I proceeded to 'clear' my entire apartment room by room to make sure there was nothing there, and checked the doors were still locked. Only then, I calmed down a little and managed to continue sleeping.

    8. 17-12-02 Nightmare in Apartment, Jim Sterling

      by , 12-21-2017 at 02:35 PM
The first dream was an absolutely dreadful nightmare. I was in my apartment, or rather my vision was (I was 'the camera'). My body was in the bedroom, asleep. There was some kind of entity of pure evil in there with me, and the camera just drew closer and closer to it. I couldn't stop it. I couldn't look away. I think the entity was in my bedroom, and the camera followed it there. It all sounds silly, and I barely remember what really happened, other than that it was horrifically scary and made Paranormal Activity look like the Teletubbies.

In the following dream, I was friends with game industry critic Jim Sterling. That was pleasant, I guess?
    9. 17-12-01 Floating Down River Styx, HP Insecurity

      by , 12-21-2017 at 02:27 PM
I found myself laying on some kind of raft, floating on a river of boiling lava. It was pretty clear this was Hell, and that river was pretty clearly the famous Styx. I had to be careful moving around on the 'raft' (the raft felt soft, more like a mattress, blanket or mat instead of a wooden raft) as every compression allowed lava onto its surface, touching my hands/ I actually touched the lava a few times, but it didn't do any damage and it didn't hurt. There was a giant three-headed monster on the shore, eating fleeing people left and right. The people were all dressed very modern and casual, and they looked as confused as I was. No one knew how they'd gotten there, only that this place was awful. The monster is of course based on Cerberus, the monster from Greek mythology that guards the Styx in Dante's Inferno. But this version of Cerberus didn't look like a dog. Its neck was long and serpentine, and its heads looked like the head of a Velociraptor or Tyrannosaurus rex. It was the size of a large house. There were also smaller monsters, I can only call them 'demons'. Vicious critters the size of a man. About the environment... It felt very 'alien'. Not at all like a volcanic environment, as people often think of Hell. This felt more like a lava river on Mars or something. Nothing felt familiar. There was a man with a large camera down there, filming the horrible scenes. I was seeing the scene though his lens, now. Then he got caught by Cerberus. The camera fell to the ground, as the beast gobbled him down in one vicious bite. The camera was on the ground, me still seeing the scene though it. Like in the ending of Paranormal Activity, a ghost-like entity attacked the camera as if it knew I was watching. I was scared half to death.

The next scene appeared to be a continuation of the Hell dream. I awoke in a large room, where others were also waking up. My grandmother (on father's side) was there too. She spoke about getting ready for the "next film", or something? We were doing some weird kind of ritual. A satanic ritual?

This dream was far less pleasant than the last one. I was in what I think was a bar? A certain celebrity I've been obsessed with was there. While I was working up the courage to talk to her, tongue tied and not even sure what to say, I noticed another guy I used to know from work (Nick P.) was already confidently chatting her up. Now, in real life, Nick is someone who's going places. He started his own company. He's smart, driven, stylish, sociable, and therefore all the things I am not. Being confronted with "not being good enough" was humiliating. Can I go back to Hell, please?
    10. 17-11-29 Pennywise in Abandoned Hospital

      by , 12-21-2017 at 01:28 PM
I was in a super-creepy, dark and dilapidated abandoned hospital. I was being hunted, again, by Pennywise the dancing clown. I closed as many doors behind me as I could, trying to lock him in a bathroom. I ran into a more open hallways (still dark). Someone told me (over a radio?) to hurry to a certain location. I wasn't too keen on navigating this awful place much longer, as I was pretty sure those doors wouldn't contain Pennywise for long.
    11. 17-11-10 Back to School, Nuclear Blast & Nightmare, Pulling the Plug on Dream

      by , 11-15-2017 at 05:47 PM
The first dream started innocently enough, with yet another return to that bloody school. I was running late. I entered the classroom where everybody else was already assembled. They weren't just the guys from my own class, but also from the other class from that same year. I sheepishly greeted them and sat down. They cheered and mocked me as I did so. I made brief eye contact with my former friends, realizing fully well they hate me. As it turned out, I was there to complete my third year of my bachelor in electromechanics.

The second dream started out as a kind of franchise trailer for Call of Duty. I saw footage of modern military stuff like jets and tanks. Then, the view switched to Nazi World War II tanks driving up a hill towards the US capitol. Then, the capitol exploded in a massive nuclear blast. I was physically present in the scene now, and knew I was about to die. I saw the "wave" of debris and other fiery fuck you heading my way, and realized I would soon be vaporized. But when it hit me, I was thrown into the air by the air pressure. High into the air. Like, a mile. I saw the land the capitol was on, a wide river, and a town on the other side. For a second I was happy, thinking I'd survived, but then I realized I'd fall to my death. Just my luck. Fortunately, I ended up floating and eventually flying. I flew around a little bit, quite low to the ground, through a park. There were people walking around, but then I noticed a woman I'd seen before. She was there "twice". And where ever I looked, there she was. It was like she was replicating outside my field of vision, and everybody was turning into her. Until there were at least ten "clones" of her in that park, and no one else. I felt this was becoming a nightmare, as this is a plot I've seen before in dreams. That's right, despite not being lucid, I still "knew" this was a dream. I talked to the "woman", whom I knew was not a woman but a monster. She *looked* like a woman, but I knew my own growing fear and unease could make her morph into a monster at any time (as dreams usually do). She had a name, which I forgot. I realized flying away was pointless. The monsters my dreams spawn can teleport, and always know where you are. Always. You can't hide or flee from them. I knew the only way out, was to terminate the dream by waking up - as this would instantly terminate 'her' and the whole dream world. I could 'feel' my real body at this point, but I was still in the dream. I told her what I was going to do. I asked her if she had any last words before I erased her from existence. Then I chose to wake up.

I think that's the first time I've ever voluntarily ended a dream despite not knowing it's a dream. It sure caught the nightmare creatures off-guard.
    12. 17-11-14 Supernatural Horrors

      by , 11-14-2017 at 03:40 PM
Pretty cool nightmare. I'd entered some kind of 'other dimension' populated entirely by supernatural killers, one of which was Pennywise the Dancing Clown. It began innocently enough, with me strolling through what looked like a library, though it also sold candy and reminded me of the candy shop in my local movie theater. Suddenly I heard a disembodied voice mock me, and the scene turned dark and scary instantly. There was a scene where I saw a man walking, and every time he appeared again (he walked behind objects sometimes) his face turned gruesome, looked straight at me and screamed loudly in a very demonic manner. There were way more scenes, most of which I forgot. In the end, I found the exit. It was guarded by Pennywise himself. I managed to convince the beast it was best to let me leave, but it was a very tense moment. Pennywise constantly vanished and then reappeared somewhere else right outside my field of vision, right when I was slowly advancing towards the exit gate while trying to convince It. I got out of the gate and found myself back in the "normal" dream world. I immediately flew away as fast as I could. Somehow, as I was escaping, I felt like I *was* one of the monsters.

    13. 17-10-26 Things

      by , 10-27-2017 at 07:11 PM
I was sitting in a garden (I assume it was the garden of our old house, but it felt different), looking out over the landscape. The landscape was one of rolling green hills, and a very cloudy, grey sky. The air felt very humid but cool. I was admiring that I was on Earth, as other worlds are mostly dry, barren and devoid of atmosphere or life. Debby, my father's wife, walked past me.

Then things got pretty horrific. I saw a transforming 'Thing' in the house. You know, like the monsters from 'The Thing'. My character (I was no longer myself, and I was now watching 'my' character as if I was just a camera) shot it with his gun, and assumed it was dead. As he left the house, the Thing grabbed him by his leg with one of its tentacles, and dragged him back inside. While being dragged, I saw a shotgun on the ground between him and the monster. He grabbed the shotgun but didn't shoot (?). He got bitten by one of the Thing's many mouths. That's when I woke up. The monster had features of various animal species. It had the head of a whale, tentacles, and features of a few other land animals. But all horribly deformed and 'unfinished'.

    14. 17-09-XX Grandpa Dead in Cabin, Things

      by , 10-24-2017 at 12:02 PM
Scary dream. I saw some kind of cabin. My grandfather, who died recently, was there. In a later scene we saw what happened after we (myself and possibly other family?) left. We had to abandon him because he had some kind of disease that as a threat to everybody. Grandpa was dead, and on the floor. He looked like he suffered a lot. It was very dark in the cabin. Only moonlight lit up the room. The floor, walls and even the ceiling was covered in red... stuff. Not blood. More like the red weed from "The War of the Worlds", or "the Ripley" from Stephen King's "Dreamcatcher". The scene looked creepy as hell. I felt like something evil was in there with us. There was a girl with me, now. Dire circumstances throughout the dream (mostly forgotten) had brought us together. I was crushing on her, hard. And the way I acted around her made it very obvious. I didn't care things were bad. Not if I got to be around her.

In another scene I found myself in medieval times, I think. I was in some kind of arena, sitting on a long bench with a bunch of other people. The person next to me told me to leave, quickly. I was apparently in danger. Possibly, "they" were after me.

Horrific dream. Sort of a continuation of the first. It was a frantic chase through a house, where I was being pursued by... Things. Like the monsters from John Carpenter's "The Thing". More and more of our group were being turned, mutating horribly, and I was now the only one left. It was awful and terrifying. I vaguely remember a bedroom, where I jumped through a window (through the glass) to escape one of the Things and "fell through dimensions". Impossible to explain in words. The dream concluded with an open ending... but I suspected I had been turned without knowing it myself, or as about to be turned.
    15. 17-05-03 Loser Guardians OTG, Flying in Santa Monica, 12:14

      by , 05-05-2017 at 03:32 AM
I wrote down, but don't recall what it means: "no fate but what we make" (I watched Terminator earlier that day) and Ian McKellen. I think Ian said the famous Terminator line as part of a speech to 'us'. Us probably refers to several characters I met in the dreams I'll now summarize (they're all related, same 'continuity').

I was doing some kind of basketball challenge. I had to dribble my way through a kind of trench (?), maneuvering my way past several opponents. Not willing to give up, I somehow outdid myself, and made it to the end. That would never work in real life.

I remember being in a hotel, and getting into a dumbwaiter in the kitchen. It went up, and I ended up between the corpses in a morgue...

Notes mention Rick Moranis, don't recall the scene.

Throughout the previous dreams (of which I forgot key scenes), a team had been assembled of random people I met in those dreams. Like the "Guardians of the Galaxy", but even bigger losers. One of them was a waiter from that hotel, perhaps Moranis was another. And me, of course - the basketball guy. We all traveled in a cool-looking spaceship. We flew through a kind of wormhole, into a dark planet's atmosphere.

      --

First dream completely unrelated to the first bunch. I was at Santa Monica Beach, and I was wearing absolutely ridiculous clothing. A bloody skirt? Pink, no less? I was understandably embarrassed. I didn't want to be seen. I started flying to stay out of sight. I was having fun, so the clothes thing kind of vanished (if you don't focus on it, the dream makes it vanish) as it ceased to be relevant. Flying low through a street, a guy suddenly turned to me and asked something really weird. I think he asked me to record something on tape...? I kept flying, but everywhere I looked, there he was... asking the same question over and over again, in exactly the same tone. I flew higher to get away, but when I looked back (down), there he was! Somehow right behind me in mid-air, asking that question again! I was seriously freaked out at this point. I violently threw him off of me, and he fell down. I somehow had an injury in my side all of a sudden? I woke up, and for some reason immediately checked my body for the injury. Not sure why I did that.

Right before I opened my eyes, I had a vision of a number. 12:14 (in green numerals). I finally woke up, and checked the time. It was 12:14...
