PLEASE RESPOND, I'VE GOT A BIG MENTAL PROBLEM WITH THIS......
I've got a "ganglion cyst"(i'll call it GC) now i understoud it must be removed... operatively :makeitstop: now you MUST understand: i am afraid like i'm afraid of death (and you can't even begin to imagine how much i'm afraid of THAT  )
AND: you must understand (also) that i have had not a single surgery so i'm even more afraid... (i even faint after an injection )
what a GC is: a "blatter" filled with fluid and cells, its on the top of my hand, close to my wrist, (looks like a swelling)
and for those who had it already or those with great knowledge  :
what can be done about it?
is it a "positive" tumor?
IF it has to be removed  : what kind of "surgery" will i get?
AND to those who have been <don't know the word> (when a wound is closed by needle&"wire" (f*ck my english)): how does it feel when it gets "pulled out"?
OW AND <edit>: do you have some good (calming) music & download sites?

The fatality rate on surgical procedures concerning the removal of a CG is pretty low (like 22%)...so you don't have to worry much there.
However, I've heard the clean up procedure is pretty painful...but on the good side you will be given some good drugs to alleve the pain.

They are not generally considered harmful although can cause discomfort and/or limit movement. Frequently, the cysts will disappear over time, so in cases of small cysts that don't cause symptoms, no therapy is necessary. If a ganglion cyst is symptomatic, it can be managed by aspiration or surgery. Aspiration of the cyst is simpler method, but cysts will develop again in about 50% cases. Recurrence rate after surgery is only 5-10%, the procedure is simple and usually there are no complications.[/b]

Yeah I don't know what the hell InTheMoment was talking up but like Kaniaz quoted, it's a really simple procedure. Don't freak out man! Do some hunting on the internet I'm sure you'll find loads of info about them. My doggie has a few of them, but the doc just says to keep an eye on them and if they get bigger they might need to be drained. Really it's not a big deal. ;)

Even if they like, cut of your hand (and they're not) its pretty hard to die over surgery to your hand methinks, you shouldn't worry about that :) Hey and good chance its just going to go away eh? I remember still when they cut the inners of my mouth open (wisdom teeth in very awkward positions so they had to do weird stuff) and I assume they would either knock you out or give you some injections and you won't feel anything..I mean for my mouth he cut, drilled away bone, removed teeth in a very violent way...and I didnt feel anything. (well, hardly)
Now you cant compare the two but nowadays with the current level of medical skill..I think they won't even make a big mess (you know with the blood and stuffs), you'd hardly notice.
Like everybody says its a simple procedure which will not damage you or hurt alot, let alone stand kill you ^_^" However I hope it'll go away on its own ;) Good luck with it.

Okay, I bet you won't die, if I win, you have to make a topic about how much you like smelling feet. If you die, I'll do the same.

Cryo, you're not going to die. From what it sounds like, the procedure is no more complicated than when I had to have an infected hang-nail taken care of in my toe... and that hurt... the nail, not the procedure.
If you're still convinced you will die, I'd recommend looking up .... what's that phobia where someone's always convinced they're sick or something bad's going to happen to them... I've got a headache and can't remember.
EDIT: *Remembers* Hypochondria

Dislocate you shoulder, Kaniaz. Theoretically it should make the procedure much more simple!
(cryo... duh. That's all I have to say)
