Hi Folks,

We have talked about having a big convention for a while now. Let's get serious about it, maybe plan something for later this year.

Hysteria is coordinating the effort, so post your ideas here or PM her.

Needs to be a place that many of our members can get to without excessive travel.

This is hard to decide on. Since I'll be in California by then. I guess if we could all decide on a time of year where travel is the cheapest would help too. Then more people would fly. And a cool city like Chicago would be ideal. Also, would be cool if we could stay in someone's place or something, if it's big enough. To save on hotel expense. Or is that too creepy? I guess if 10 people split a room that would work.

I'm just brainstorming here.

so yea, i most likely wouldn't make the convention (unless it is in LA or San Diego or any other place in southern california). it's tough to find a specific location for members to meet since it seems many of the active members are spread across states and countries.

btw how is the chicago convention coming along? who is going to that?

heya; much like p00p, i havent posted in a bit =)

someone sent me a link to this thread on here (although i will occasional come by and browse a thread or two, admittedly...anywho, I would love to go to a convention (even if I have been inactive) if I could...the most important for me, at least, is timing...like, what time of the year...cause i dunno bout you guys but I got things like college to attend and sometimes work...

anywho, jus sayin a time frame would prolly need to be set as well as a location; while ya'll are discussin it... hope to see you guys there ;p

I like the idea of Chicago in October. Anytime after Oct. and the airfare starts to get a bit pricey. Several DV members (including myself) are familiar and/or live near Chicago, which would make finding things to do a bit more laxed. Also, any later in the year, Chicago becomes quite cold and then loses its appeal...at least to me.

Amen! And if I'm living there this winter like I plan people can crash at my place :D

Come October I'll either be living in Chicago or LA...but I think LA might be a bit out of reach.

So we're talking about sometime during the fall or winter when it's sucidially cold up there? Yay.

I think maybe the time should be during a holiday or school vacation so more people can make it. Just a suggestion.

No not winter...winter in Chicago is hellacious. I mean if we want to do Chicago. And we want to keep it away from any holidays so if people want to fly in it won't be too expensive. I say early November/late October??
