How could I NOT go lucid?

This morning I woke up almost smacking myself for not realizing I was dreaming last night. In last night's dream, I was talking to a couple of friends. We were in a forest near a large lake. One of my friends was determined to convince me that I was dreaming, while I was equally determined to convince him otherwise. He would be like, "Can you do THIS in real life," while jumping about 50 feet up and landing on a branch. I was somehow able to find a way to present a reason that yes, it could happen in reality. At the end of my dream I said something along the lines of "If this is a dream and I wake up, I will owe you 1,000 'dream bucks.'" I woke up shortly after. My point is, how could I have sat there talking to my friend about dreams and not go lucid, especially when he was trying to convince me that I was dreaming?

I guess tonight I will pay my friend his thousand dream dollars...

wow that blows dude. dont feel bad, i thought to myself in a dream lastnight that i must have been dreaming, but didnt realize it. now that i think about it. i had this feeling when i walked into my old house. which is one of my dreams signs ive been telling myself to notice. DANG. i walked in the house and was like " ive been thinking about lucid dreaming alot, this feels weird". haha so we all do that i think

there are people on here who say they have DREAMED about being lucid without actually being lucid. so yeah it could have been worse LOL but not by much :lol: :lol: :lol:

Alot of people experience that. I had this many times, even trying to WILD in the dream, trying to build induction devices, teaching others (DC) about lucid dreaming and not go lucid. You are not stupid, or something similar. it happens !

Yep, reminds me of a dream I had where I was trying to lucid dream (WILD to be exact but I had lucid dreaming on my mind the whole time) and still never went lucid. Smacked myself on the head for that one.

I remember I was in a dream on a common in a local town. It is the middle of summer, and I knew it. And all the trees were green, exept one maple tree, which every single one of its leaves turned orange. I do remember everything stopped that was taking place in the dream. I sat down, and looked at the tree. I said to myself, "that is very very strange, I wonder if it means anything?" I then remembered i had something to do and left.

So I know exactly how it feels, and in the fall my reality checks will increase substancialy :wink:
