Hey, guys

I'm addressing the issue of recalling dreams.

I don't mean to brag at all, but my recall can go on for pages and pages. The thing is, I don't always have the time to write it. I even dread writing everything!

Does anybody know if just writing key words or writing main sentences are sufficient enough? Or just concentrating on dreamsigns would be good enough? I notice that writing more and more is better in the long run...tired hand, though! I actually try using a PC to type it up, but usually forget it. I figured that having a laptop beside the bed is useful, so I'm deciding whether or not it would be worth getting one for that purpose. Does anybody do this?

I had the same problem my recall actualy started to drop because of how lazy I got when It came to writing down my dream. What I do now is a dream journal however I do this: Time: Location: characters: key points: For key points just write down main parts that when you read it later could easily trigger the most important parts of the dream... Also my computers in my room so I sometimes type them as well; Though its really just as vexing as getting up to type it all as it is to write it all.. (its all the same when your tired) so I just seggest raising your diciplin enough to write them down thoughtlessly every time you wake up. :D

hope that helped...

I also had that problem. I hated writing them down to the point where my dream recall went down. I made myself start writing again, but now Im getting lazy again. I wish I had that stuff where you can just speak into the computer and it will type for you. does anybody know whats that called?

Haha,

I'm feel company now because I know we are in the same boat! I realize that it's very effective to write them down after waking up from a manually programmed alarm. But that's when most people are lasiest, I presume. :)

I'm sure that voice activated typing is a functioning ability these days, but not really in mainstream consumer market. We can be glad that they only get better and better, and will most likely someday be available.
Oh yeah! It just hit me about the recall technique of simply talking into a tape recorder!

heh

Like Dragon Naturally speaking and IBM ViaVoice
They have bad recognition though... just recording them on tape or something might be better

Upon waking up from a regular boring dream, the last thing i want to do is turn on the light, and write it down, and even if its an interesting dream, its still hard to write, because i feel a bit intoxicated upon waking up, and not really in this reality...so another alternative is to write down the main points, for example:
>Brother, Friend, mom, and tom cruise
>Mordor, outside the black gates
>adventure, fighting, orcs.

and then when you wake up for the day, you can write down the whole dream.
